This was our 2nd visit to Crater Lake and we decided to document the trip this time. We knew we wanted to do something different from the standard family vacation bore-athon. So, we did more research on the history of the lake and surrounding area and began assembling the video. It turned out to be a great way to document our trip and also educate ourselves and others at the same time.

Even with some of the amazing images captured in the video, it’s really something you need to see in person to fully appreciate. Just as we did with Stolen Moment, we decided it was time to post the full film for everyone to enjoy.

We screened 2 videos at the festival:

• Travelogue: Oregon Coast/Highway 101 (Voted Best Travel Documentary)
• Recorded Memories Ad (Voted Best Advertisement)

As usual there were some interesting and entertaining films/videos shown, but the highlight was definitely Portrait of a Tour Guide by Jordan Donovan (Best Comedy). The dry humored short was what Saturday Night Live skits used to be like – when they were funny… a long time ago. Everything was really well done and there wasn’t a boring moment. If you get a chance to see it, don’t miss out.

Thanks again to Mike and Di for another great festival – we always appreciate the feedback we receive at PIFF and the chance to network with other filmmakers.

Stolen Moment is far from a perfect film, but it’s part of our history. It also led us to our first film festival when it was selected for the NW Projections Film Festival in November of 2006. It was an amazing experience, from watching the trailer play the night before things kicked off to the 3 different screenings it had throughout the weekend, and the time we got to spend with our cast and crew. Stolen Moment would also screen at the 2008 Plomondon Independent Film Festival.

While 7 years isn’t typically a significant milestone, we decided it was time to post the full film online. So here it is in all it’s glory-*.

By using a layout that adapts to whatever device it’s being viewed on, we can keep our link structures intact. So if someone gets a link to one of our pages through social media or email, they can view it on any device. We know firsthand how frustrating it can be to try and view sites when switching between the desktop and a phone/tablet.

That being said, we’re still working through some final tweaks so if something looks a bit odd, we’re most likely working on it. If something looks really off, let us know.

As always, we received fantastic feedback from the audiences and enjoyed meeting and discussing our projects with everyone. Thanks again to Mike and Di for another great festival!

We are still working on our record store documentary “Thanks for your support!” Last year about this time we screened a short version of the film at the Plomondon Independent Film Festival and got some great feedback that we’ve used moving forward. So what’s left? We are down to a few interviews, additional in-store footage, and final edits. Our goal is to have the completed film wrapped up before the end of the year.

Lately we’ve been experimenting with the FlipCam, GoPro, and iPhone video as alternatives to traditional cameras. We’ve captured some travel footage from both near and far and are putting together a series of Travelogue videos that chronicle the drive and give some history on our destinations. The first video should be online by February.

Finally this is going to be a year for music. I am working with Wilkinson as we prepare for Displaced Time’s first official release on CD and as a digital download. Along the way we are documenting the process and posting some of the footage online as part of our Production Diary series on YouTube. Check out past videos on our YouTube Channel.
