Storyline

Race 2 does not take off from where Race left off. It is a totally different film with a somewhat similar star cast. The story is about Ranveer Singh (Saif Ali Khan) avenging his wife’s (Bipasha Basu) death. Arman Malik (John Abrahim) is a multi millionaire who contracts killers to murder Sonia (Bipasha Basu) & Ranveer will not let go till the time the deed has been avenged. But what follows is a roller coaster ride of plots & counter plots. But how will it finally end? Will Saif get his revenge, will it be sweet? How will he do it? Does it mean the end of the character of Arman Malik or does the director have an ace up his sleeve?

The film is a roller coaster ride has a few highs & many lows. The excitement thrills but is very predictable. Saif as Ranveer Singh is good and convincing. John Abrahim as a negative character adds a high testosterone quotient. Deepika & Jacqueline Fernandez add glamour to the film. Anil Kapoor as retired police officer has a small but comic role. The film is shot in Istanbul & the camera work catches the beauty of the place fairly well! The film is stylised & the editing sleek but over all it does not come together as an entertaining, interesting film. Race 2 lacks substance & the writing in many places is flawed. It is an easy miss in a busy week.
