Rhode Island School Fires ALL Teachers

On Tuesday, a school board in Rhode Island voted to fire all teachers and top administrators at Central Falls High School. The school is one of the lowest performing schools in the state. The board had asked teachers to work longer school hours to help students. Teachers say progress was being made with students and pointed out a recent jump in reading scores.

Do you think clearing out all the teachers at underperforming schools and hiring new teachers will help?

Should other schools do the same?

Or, does the problem lie somewhere else?

Redesigning The Hot Dog

The American Academy of Pediatrics says choking is the #1 cause of injury and death among children ages three and younger.

Some the biggest dangers: the shapes of hard candies, popcorn and hot dogs.

So the group is recommending that hot dogs be "redesigned."
