Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Illinois Nonprofit Conference and Public Policy Institute. 230 nonprofit leaders attended the Conference and 104 participated in the Public Policy Institute.

The Conference received a spot on the WCIA (Springfield) news and an opinion piece by Donors Forum CEO and President Valerie S. Lies on the "Economic power of not making a profit," appeared in The State Journal-Register on October 16. These are just two examples of our sector "making some noise," in the words of keynote speaker Robert Egger.

Any materials available for download will appear under Electronic Resources on each workshop page. Resources are being added gradually, so please check back if you don't see materials for the workshop session you attended.

A key part of the mission of Donors Forum is to strengthen nonprofits – vital organizations that enrich and improve the lives of everyone in Illinois, and that make our communities better places to live and work. To that end, we are proud to host the 2^nd Annual Illinois Nonprofit Conference entitled 501cometogether.

For two days, October 15 and 16, 2012 at the Springfield Hilton, more than 250 nonprofit leaders will come together with colleagues from across Illinois to strengthen their capacity, to collaborate with peers, and to leverage the collective impact of the nonprofit sector in Illinois. With informative plenary sessions and workshops, invigorating speakers and a networking luncheon, the 501cometogether conference will help to ensure that nonprofits are more effective and efficient in achieving their missions.

We are proud to host Robert Egger, founder of the DC Central Kitchen as well as CForward.org, an advocacy organization, who will be a keynote speaker.

The other keynote is Farra Trompeter—Vice President of Big Duck, a New York based communications firm that works exclusively with nonprofit organizations.

Public Policy Institute

This year’s conference will also include a half-day pre-conference Public Policy Institute. Featuring Egger along with other noted policy and nonprofit leaders, the institute will focus on how and why nonprofits must work with each other – and in partnership with government – to influence public policies that affect the work of nonprofits and their ability to fulfill their missions.
