This Sunday night will be our last night at Gypsy Den. A huge thanks to the Gypsy Den for being so awesome in letting us gather there weekly for the last year. At times our gatherings got quite loud and disruptive and didn’t make them much money and yet they were always incredibly gracious hosts.

There are many reasons but we really want to focus our time and resources on the areas where we are seeing the most growth and momentum. As such, we will continue our monthly gatherings at Community Movie Night and Laundry Love Santa Ana, as well as our twice monthly gatherings at Saint City Sessions.

We will also be developing a monthly community leaders gathering to help bring together folks who head up our various projects as well as those who are doing great work on their own or with other groups. We hope it will be a time of collaboration and support  for those doing great things in the city of Santa Ana. More details on this to follow.

We have some exciting things on the horizon with regards to getting a space to bring things back under one roof, putting on classes and shows again and providing a spot for people to come together outside of events but no definitive timeline just yet.

I know it has been quiet around these parts lately. I apologize for that. Lots of exciting things going on that I cannot wait to share. The “day job” has been keeping me pretty busy.

That said, there are two things I wanted to share with you all:

  • We are celebrating Laundry Love Santa Ana’s 2 year anniversary next Thursday. Click through for details. If you have not made it out to a Laundry Love yet or it has been a while, this event will be a great opportunity to get plugged in! Or just come out this one time to help us celebrate!
  • Long time friend from so many 511 related gatherings, Chris is moving away. It is an incredibly great time for him as he is getting married, but for so many of us who have gotten to know him over the last 2 years, it is also quite sad. We will be forgoing our normal community night at the Gypsy Den on Sunday, Sept 11th in order to hang out at the Bolsa Chica Beach Firepits from 2pm on. Please join us and bring food to share!
