This is something I love to experiment with! We have another week of rain ahead of us here in NJ so the prompt is fitting. But don't wait for rain!! Fill a spray bottle with water and mist it over things like flowers, leaves, grass, shiny surfaces, drinking glasses, windows, etc. Play with your camera settings - macro or blur on purpose. You can have a lot of fun with this one!

Jenn and I have done coaching work together, and I have to tell you, she has this beautiful way of guiding you to see big truths and revelations about yourself. I'm so happy to welcome her here today. In her own words, here is what Jenn would like to share:

Hello, sweet soul.

I'm Jenn Gibson, a life coach, writer and creator of Roots of She, a collection of true stories and tender wisdom for women, by women.

Here's the link to my before shot. I cropped out a lot of green and then sharpened up what was left over.

Crop it: It's like finding a photo within a photo. Crop out a section of a large pic. Share the before and after in your blog post or flickr stream - and link it up here on Wednesday!

Good morning & welcome to Gallery 2 {microscopic} It's so nice to see so many new people joining us! Thank you for being here.

I just want to say how happy I was to see all of the different and unique interpretations of the {conversation} gallery! I'm looking forward to getting to know the new participants better and to seeing all of you grow in your craft over the next 52 weeks.

Microscopic! Such a funny word. Small. Tiny. Difficult to see. I'm interested to see what you have captured. You can share multiple photos to the flickr group, (great photos there!) Facebook page, and instagram, after linking up here.

Photo Interview: Tracey Duncan

Today is a first in a yearlong series of interviews here at 52 Photos Project. You will meet one new photographer every month until the end of our third year. I have asked each of the photographers to choose five photo prompts that we've had here in the last two years and to share a photo related to that prompt.

This month, our featured guest is Tracey Duncan. Here are the prompts that she chose and her perspective for each of those prompts!

Nourish: This photo was taken at a local Safari. There were Peacocks everywhere!

In the Garden: Flowers from bulbs my grandma gave me over seven years ago! I'm still amazed each spring when they rise up from Mama Earth. Such a beautiful reminder of her spirit.

Ray of Light: I adore the sky, particularly all shades of her blue. The sun produced a neat pinkish swirly image in this capture.

Get Really Close: Ah, this is my favorite blooming tree which happens to be in my front yard. I cherish this little tree and the few weeks it produces these gorgeous lilac blooms. Every year I dance around, dodging all the busy bees that swarm the tree just so I can take another 20 shots of is glory, while it lasts.

Look UP (buttercup): Another safari picture. This guy! I was shooting into the sun so I couldn't really tell what he was doing until I got home and downloaded them. Ha! What I remembered as licking his lips translated into him sticking his tongue at me. Quite funny!

What has been your favorite photo prompt so far? My favorite photo prompt so far was "A different path" because it evoked a sense of adventure for us to seek a new way and open up to what treasures we may find. When I feel stuck creatively or otherwise, trying something new or going somewhere new is my usually go-to remedy. I find it helps to clear away the mental muck and allows fresh energy to flow in. Thank you darling Bella! Thank you for your ongoing inspiration and for fostering the amazing 52 Photos Project community. You brighten my life and the lives of so many others! Much love to you!

Week 2

I'm excited to see so many new faces here! Thank you for joining us. If you missed Gallery 1, you have nothing to worry about. It will remain open until early Wednesday morning, ensuring you have plenty of time to submit your photo.

Microscopic: I was inspired to share this prompt when I found myself sitting on the grass in my backyard and doing my best to photograph a ladybug that landed on a dandelion. I thought, now this would be a great prompt!

We aren't really focusing on macro photography for this prompt. Instead, I'm challenging you to capture something teeny & tiny! I'm excited to see what you come up with!

Gallery 1 {Conversation}

Welcome to week 1. April is a perfect time to start a year long photo project. From Spring to Spring, we will experience all of the seasons and holidays together.

If it's your first time here, WELCOME! I'm Bella, your hostess. All of the answers to your questions (and more about me) can be found by looking through the navigation bar. There are only 2 rules I ask that you follow: Link only 1 photo to the gallery -and- try to keep it related to the prompt.

You can post multiple photos to the flickr group and instagram throughout the week. Some contributors have started sharing photos to the facebook page, which has been a nice change.

What I really love is that we are gathered here because of our love of photography. I hope that by next April, you have a stack of 52 photos in your portfolio that you can be proud of.

Welcome to week 1 at 52 Photos Project!

We will be going deeper with our themes this year so that you can really explore your surroundings with that camera of yours!! You'll notice a some subtle changes, but not too many. Our prompts will still continue to be posted on Sunday and our Galleries will open up on a Wednesday.

Conversation: I asked Meri (who was a contributor for week 1, year 1) to choose our first prompt. I love this prompt because it holds so many possibilities. A photo of a conversation taking place or a photo that sparks a conversation are just some of the ideas you can explore. Thank you Meri - excellent choice.

I can't thank you enough for showing up here week after week, making this space so sweet and welcoming! If you've been here for the last 52 weeks, you should have a nice stack of photos stored somewhere on your computer. Print them! Those are 52 pieces of your work, you should be so proud to hold them in your hands.

There will be no space between week 52 & week 1, so make sure to stop by here on Sunday 4/21 to find out what our first photo prompt will be. *I do have a series of fun interviews set up for year 3 as well as some great tutorials to share.

Here we are at week 52! Thank you to everyone who's been on this journey with me. I chose Self Portrait as our final prompt. I'm aware that not everyone will feel comfortable with showing themselves online, I get that. This photo I've shared is an example of the unique ways in which you can show up here this week without mugging it up for the camera, if that helps.

Good morning and welcome to Gallery 49 {Layers}. At any given moment, in any room of my house, you will find a pile or stack of magazines, books, notebooks, photos, ripped out pages for inspiration, pens, pencils, markers, etc. I keep a neat house, but I do have a lot of stacks kept in the corners & on tables. They are layers of the things I love, treasures that shape my personality.

Why yes, I was late in visiting your photos from Gallery 47 {light} and with good reason.

We just got a puppy! Her name is Beatrix Kiddo but

we call her Trixie. She's just a baby and she takes up

a lot of my time right now.
