Une malheureuse petite image a suscité notre curiosité :

En effet, cette image fait partie d’une vague de teasing à l’échelle nationale concoctée par … Justement, c’est ce que nous cherchons. Nombreux sont les twittos à se demander qui est l’annonceur derrière cette campagne de teasing … Le site dédié à cette opération ne nous en dit pas long sur la campagne mise à part la date de révélation :

Le “Whois” nous montre que le nom de domaine a été déposé par un ancien collaborateur de Duke qui est, actuellement, au sein de Résonéo. L’annonceur se cache surement dans la liste des clients d’une de ces deux entreprises …

Notre interrogation reste la même bien que nous ayons un peu avancé. Si quelqu’un en savait plus sur l’agence et l’annonceur qui se cache derrière, on est preneur !

This time, Kit Kat brand about him and particularly in Auckland, New Zealand. Over there. Kit Kat wanted to help these boaters enjoy their stay at the beach and town by offering them a chair. Passers must build a chair with a wooden model kit (6 pieces). These kits are in the form of posters and are arranged in the city. An operation signed by the agency JWT Auckland who doesn’t lack imagination.

At first glance, the campaign may seem strange … KitKat is specialized in the manufacture of chocolate bars, so why not diversify into furniture?

iPad is not a revolution, not even an evolution

You’ve probably all watched me as the Apple Keynote. If you have not done well and you have not missed much. Apple introduced an iPhone / iPod giant without 3G for 1 price, without flash, without using web cam and a SIM technology that does not exist yet. In short, I do not fuel the controversy here, but just to reassure you about the future of technology that Apple does not seem to want to move.

Fortunately for us, others involved has yet to consider future uses of the Internet and new technologies. Among them, Dr. Pranav Mistry at MIT who works on an object that could change the way we perceive the world around us, nothing less.

No there not to cockroach in our office ^ ^! This weekend is special for us. Indeed emménageons us in our new premises on Monday, so we were on Saturday in Mission Leroy Merlin where we made some fresh paint, brushes and whatnot to give a youthful look to our new working environment.

Here we work hard to give key 53mondays and we will invite you all soon in a big opening party full of surprises.

Web lessons for PR schools !

Here we are, PR schools are waking up! After 4 years of Web “2.0″, people begins to understand the interest to train future communicative techniques, technologies and Internet tools.
Today, although everyone is aware of the issue, there is very little training “Web Communication” in France! So starting from this observation, the EFAP Bordeaux, headed by William Petit, approached the agency last year to develop a specialized course (Web Marketing & Com) for the 3rd year.

Alexis and I have then considered a suitable course in curriculum followed by students of the EFAP, to give them access to essential information for a charge of com ‘(Internet history, technology, research, referencing , marketing, etc. …).

I mention here that some of the chapters covered in this course, which was quite lively and has evolved according to the receptivity of students. While some aspects were more or less useful for them, I’m focused on the fact that many will be working in advertising and will therefore understand the work of web providers to avoid having to do ^ ^.
During this course, I also suggested to my students on a floor of concrete case. In the case this year and saw the time, I suggested working on a mail greeting for the agency. The idea here was to allow them to use some concepts of Marketing 2.0 and in particular the principle idea of viruses and buzz.

The pitch was simple: in the year 2010, 53mondays changes (slightly) in appearance, local, and said his expertise with new partnerships and projects. We also want to re-focus attention on our range of services than on our eco-responsible approach.
To do this, we thought to use the traditional e-mail good year to convey a strong message to this change and this new year. We have free rein to the imagination of students, with one constraint: to propose feasible projects in a few days (end of January approached).

Having received / read a dozen proposals we have made our choice. We opted for the plan proposed by Mayor David Joy Echirpeau, Alice and Paul Sallèles corroded fuel containers (they cite for their put some pressure ^ ^).
Of course, you can not really tell you more, otherwise we spoil the surprise ^ ^. But I think it should please you. Besides, if you’re not a fan of our Facebook page or subscribed to our newsletter, I suggest you do it now …

What I take from this experience:

Positive

I think the students enjoyed, judging by the applause at the end (at least I applauded not my philosophy teacher ^ ^).

Overall, this course has provided a knowledge base web useful in their field of competence. Enabling them with curiosity and practice, not to get their hands in their pockets for their future job / internship.

I also retain the equipment room was perfect performance video projector, wireless, cable and audio system as standard.

Negative

One time too small and poorly distributed rather compelling sessions 5h! It’s been very, very long and requires a hell of preparation. My first course moreover seen my slides exhausted after the first 3 hours, forcing me to improvise.

The configuration of the rooms could also be improved. I confess to being accustomed to lecture, more conducive to discussion.

There we were in traditional classrooms where students were behind each other, and where it was impossible to reconfigure everything.

Finally, the number of students (85 students) was not obvious to manage absenteeism despite honorable!

Overall, this was a rather interesting experience. I found that the EFAP is a level vocational school, which adapts to changing industry and trends, and therefore extends the learning of its students to new communication technologies.

The success story of the Innocent smoothies!

According to the story that the founders of innocent like to tell, the idea came at a music festival. 3 young men, Richard Reed, Adam Balon and Jon Wright freshly graduated, sold their first smoothie, and asked customers present at the festival if they should resign from their job to dedicate theirselves to those smoothies with two garbage. At the end of the festival, the YES bin was full … The machine was launched.Jean-Pierre Mialon, vice president of Challenger House (Publicis Group) says Innocent is one of his favorite brands: “She has managed to grow without traditional films or campaigns. But everything about it is advertising: the name, logo, packaging. Only few products are as consistent in the marketing mix”.

In fact, Innocent smoothie likes to say that their products are very simple, in which nothing is added…only fruits and fruits only as their slogan says “innocent, fruits naked”. She then surfs the wave of welfare, health and ecology of their products with 100% pure, 100% fruit and 100% natural.

The company today represents a turnover of about 128 million pounds and currently has over 200 employees. Good news for green jobs!

One of the lines of Innocent Smoothie communication is ecology, lets look a little closer to their involvement in the green.

Their key phrase is: “we want to leave things in better shape than when we found them. Briefly, contributing to a better future for our little planet”

Firstly, their priority was to reduce their carbon footprint. Calculated from farms up to our garbage, they have managed to obtain a decrease of 16%.

Secondly, many of their products (fruit) are derived from agricultural farms certified by Rainforest Alliance (an international NGO that takes care to protect ecosystems and people, fauna and flora that depend on transforming the exploitative practices of Soil and business practices).

Moreover, their packaging is made entirely from 100% recycled plastic, which seemed clearly impossible until now.

Finally, Innocent smoothie shall repay each year 10% of their profits to charitable company and particularly to their fondation, the Innocent Foundation, which helps rural development in countries in which sourcing (working with local communities for the development of population and environmental protection).

Only small flats for the brand that has sold part of its capital to Coca Cola, which cost him a small boycott from the Internet users but did not alter its ascent. They have expressed their disappointment by creating groups on Facebook like “Innocent smoothie – Give back Coca Cola’s dirty money” or “(reluctantly) Boycott Innocent Smoothie”. For surfers, Coca Cola brings to Innocent everything it is not, dixit: “In the Innocent realm, the enemy has invaded”. The brand has been transparency in communicating a letter explaining the founding of the “deal” with Coca Cola, the benefits they would derive and the certainty that it would not change the brand image. It has also been warned by the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) because she talks about health benefits but the smoothies were not subjected to medical experiences.

Innocent is the incarnation of “hippie Business”. “Our products are good, because we love the fruit, we love people, trees, but people mostly,” says the brand. Reptilians invading Copenhagen

If the copenhagen conference ended with a taste of bitterness, the city zoo kwew how to rush into the breach and take advantage of the Global warming meeting to launch a marketing stunt very well done. Not for the faint-hearted, for sure the make-up of this bus won’t leave reptilian’s lovers indifferent.

Cécile Duflot, (the National Secretary of the French Green political party) during the Europe Ecology Forum, was questionning herself about the humanity survival with the global warming. “Dinosaurs didn’t passed it… we neither ” she says. With this perspective we can easily imagine by seeing this big snake through the streets of Copenhagen, the come back and the invasion of those last survivors from the prehistoric age!

This tropical zoo where you can either find crocodiles and many tropicals birds offers us with this advertising stunt, a bit of warmth (paradoxically!) in the middle of the Danish winter!

A green research with Ecosia

If I tell you « Search Engine », you exclaim………. GOOGLE !!

And if I tell you « Green Search Engine », you stare at me like………WTF ??? ok ok, remember, if you refer yourself to the article «Web companies facing ecology», Google is still and all green…!

But don’t you know that it exits other search engines like Eco Search, Good tree or Good search who are giving a percentage of their incomes to charity like Rainforest Alliance for example. So the last born called “Ecosia” was launched on the web last Monday !

What is its particularity ?

Ecosia was funded by Christian Kroll and is based in Wittenberg, Germany. It is supported by Yahoo and Bing which allow it to have a good database. However, the percentage transferred to them cannot be revealed because of a confidential contract.

Its goal ?

Save the Amazonian forest

How ?

By transferring 80% of its incomes to the Tropical forest protection program of the WWF. WWF uses the money to provide a sustainable protection of the Rainforest.

Its main crush : one search = 2 m2 saved…

By the way, Ecosia puts a video online to tell us about its commitments. However, their speech is long, moralistic and above all, so monotonous !

“Bad com” when we see what Google is able to do to promote its “green behaviour” (remember the video of the 2 min visit of the Googleplex)

Moreover, if we are talking about forest, Google is not that far….just have a look of their new product launch yesterday allowing scientists and defenders of the environment to use the internet to keep an eye on what’s left of the Earth’s forests.

But let’s come back to the com, and judge by yourself :

Ecosia propose us to be “altruist” without giving money.

Little thought : how can we be altruist in a society which strive for individualism…?

Marcel Mauss, considered has the ethnology’s father explained solidarity to us as : “with the development of the individualistic ideal, community links are distending, and traditional solidarities are going downhill.

So few questions come to my mind, through all its community, is the web able to tighten social links and helps creating a 2.0 solidarity ?

Today, ecology is in the heart of actualities, especially with Copenhagen, the moment seems to be appropriate to launch this website….but will it be enough to find a place next to a giant like Google ?

However we can encourage this initiative and hope the population will not saturate with green…ecology….The famous “ecosaturation”…

Here we are, 53mondays who campaign against websites’ loading time, finaly sees its fight approuved by Google! Once again, it is Matt Cutts, the Google Webspam team manager, who announced that the loading speed was about to become an influent factor on the websites’position in the research results. Great !

Average time to load pages

53mondays recommended a low loading time for two reasons:

1. Navigation comfort for users
2. Energy saving for servers

We are now going to be able to add the fact that it raises the Google ranking and by the way, convince the last resistants’ clients who are still using the Flash technology^^.
However, we notice that it is not the first time that Google uses those references. In Google Adwords, when a link is made to a website which loads quickly, we raise its quality score.
I would say that it is a very good news! Google encourage the emergence of new behaviours in the websites’ creation with an obligation to respect good practicals in order to have a better ranking.

Evidently, today we all became “Google Dependant” et we are really aware of the Google capacity to disqualify a technology to give priority to their ranking, of course i’m thinking of their programming langage for example. But here, we can go through many kinds of assumptions^^.

Anyway, anything to say about the way Google changes the deal regularly by modifying all the criteria of its algorithm ?
