Special guest, former Redskins LB, LaVar Arrington calls in with a truly unique interview. He played for Penn State under JoPa, was the #2 overall pick in the 2000 draft, 3 time pro-bowl’er and creator of the Xtreme Procision complete football training system. He provides some great insight to his system and company as well as a few nice stories and words about former coach, Joe Paterno.
Finally, the tables turn for Kyle Williams. After all the death threats this past week after he flubbed a couple catches that helped the Giants pull out a 20-17 win last week, 7 year old Los Angelesian Owen sent a heart wrenching, tear jerking letter to Mr. Williams. Sometimes, it’s the positive reinforcement that helps struggling players. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The Coaching Carousel comes to an abrupt halt as the ride stops for the season. There were two spots left and two spots filled. The first lucky winner is Greg Schiano to go to Tampa Bay. Let’s be real though, the guys expected a bit more out of the Buccs. Their taking a 45 year old who has never coached an NFL team, a .500 Purdue coach, but hopefully he can pull of something crazy this coming season. Second is Ravens Defensive Coordinator Chuck Pagano to take the HC job at Indy. He said its hard to leave the Ravens, but it will be a good opportunity.
According to Coach Belichick, TE Rob Gronkowski isn’t practicing due to an injury. He’s been walking around in the facility in a walking boot, but the guys have Coach Belichick on the show to explain it a bit more!
Tasty waves and bodacious football this weekend in Hawaii! The Pro Bowl comes to Honolulu, are you ready? Are you even interested? Some other things to do this weekend include, but are not limited to:
     -Watching the Pro Bowl
     -Changing your oil
     -Shaving your cat
     -Sitting on an airplane
Take you pick, they all sound equally exciting to the guys!</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Peyton Manning finally comes out to the media for one of the first times in the season and steals their attention from his little brother, Eli Manning. The Indianapolis Star released an interview with the benched super star QB for the troubled Colts. Peyton talks new GM Ryan Grigson, the environment at the stadium, and the overall atmosphere and world around Peyton.
The guys deliver an update from the Coaching Carousel! The Raiders find their man for the “black hole”– Broncos DC Dennis Allen. The Dolphins also pick up Packers Offensive Coordinator Joe Philbin. Finally, Roger Goodell’s contract is extended through the 2018 season by council of the NFL owners.
Consumer alert! Reebok has been dropped and NFL is in. That’s right, they are the official gear provider for the NFL now. This means that players can change their number without paying tons of money, but that also means that if you buy or own a current Reebok jersey, it may not have the same number or even look the same as it has these past years. Hopefully they won’t go as far a the college football teams have… </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The stage for Super Bowl 46 has been set! It was a wild weekend in the Divisional Championship round and the guys will recap it for ya! The Patriots pulled ahead of the Ravens late in the game, almost losing to a FG attempt by Billy Cundiff, but sighed a sigh of relief when he missed wide left. 2 plays earlier, Lee Evans missed a potential game winning TD pass when it was stripped out of his hands. In times like that, you need to have a good grip on that ball! Joe Flacco is finally recognized as Mr. Reliable. Congrats!
On the other side of the ball, Tom Brady recognizes his “sucking” and the guys couldn’t agree more! Despite his terrible grammar, if he can suck and have his team still win, what does that say about the Patriots organization?
The 49ers show that the team is made of individuals and that they are only as strong as their weakest link. Ted Ginn Jr. has been one of the most reliable returning players since joining the NFL 5 years ago when he was a top draft pick. He grew tremendously and the niners could have greatly used him on the field, but instead had to use back up Kyle Williams which arguably cost him them the game.
Eli Manning finally has the opprotunity to outshine his bigger brother, Peyton, with another shot at the Super Bowl Bling! After his great performance yesterday, the guys do acknowledge that he is an elite player in the NFL. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Jerome Simpson gets even higher than with his spectacular catch this past season. He was indicted for drug trafficking which is classified as having over 8oz. but under 5lbs, so basically more than personal consumption, but less than Sam Hurd. He will face felony punishment with between 1-5 years in prison. The indictment comes about 4 months after authorities confiscated a package with 2.5 pounds of marijuana that had been shipped from Northern California to his home in Kentucky.
Today, the guys have on Ravens NT Terrence Cody! He answers some questions about this weekends game against the New England Patriots regarding double teams, pass rushing, and confidence about their unstoppable offense.
Giants VP of Player Evaluation, Chris Mara, has missed his first game in over 40 years. He was absent from this weeks game against the Packers to see his daughter, Rooney Mara, in Hollywood as she was nominated for a best actress award for her star role in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” Someone asked Chris about it and he simply said, “This isn’t exactly a piano recital.”
Micro Celebrity of the Day wants to know… about the weather. Sean Wilson asks on Facebook, “With the weather expected to be bad in San Francisco, who will benefit from the poor conditions?” Tune in to find out what the guys think!</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The Colts stir up the news again today as they hire a new GM, Former Eagle Ryan Grigson, and he’s already creating a buzz. Owner Jim Irsay supports the move fully and believes the team will be younger and younger as the years go on. Peyton Manning will also be getting this $28M bonus come March 3rd, and the staff is starting to raise some questions.
The Ravens win.. but just barely! Because of their less-than-glorious win, they get a less-than-glorious talk from their teammate and team leader, Ed Reed. He goes to say that Joe Flacco didn’t do a great job and needs to be better. “I think Joe was kinda of rattled a little bit by their defense,” Reed said. At least this isn’t coming in as an anonymous statement, but rather from a reputable player on the team.
Mindi Bach, the 49ers CSN BayArea reporter, joins the guys. She goes into detail about Alex Smith and the 49ers win this week and also some concerns about the Championship game versus the Giants.
The results are in! Based off the poll, 40% of people want to see a Niners/Pats Super Bowl Game this year in Indianapolis. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Today, Jim Caldwell takes the bullet for the near win-less season this past year without Peyton Manning. Everyones favorite billionaire tweeter, Jim Irsay, publishes instructions to see the article, but all the guys get at first is a Colts Cheerleaders photo essay– not that they’re complaining or anything, but after a couple refreshes, the news comes out that the Colts have officially released Jim Caldwell. While maybe not the best choice and a little late for the Jeff Fisher race, some say it will be best for the Colts.
St. Louis wins the lottery and ends up with the BMOC Jeff Fisher as their head coach. This is a huge victory for the Rams fans and will hopefully begin to move the Saints in the right direction. Jeff Fisher announced he will bring New Orleans Saints Defensive Coordinator Greg Williams to join him on his conquest next season.
Finally, the guys bring you a poll! Which Super Bowl do you want to see? Niners/Ravens, Niners/Patriots, Giants/Patriots, or Giants/Ravens? Go out to NFLRandR.com and go vote for your choice! The guys can’t wait to see what you all think! </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Coming back from an explosive Divisional Round weekend, the guys bring you a review and recap of the match-ups!
It started off Saturday with the San Francisco 49ers coming up on top over Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. While incredibly dull and long in the middle of the game, the game turned around near the end with 4 lead changes in the last 4 minutes! Brees led a TD run with just over 3 minutes remaining and Alex Smith answered with an similar offensive push ending with a pass to Vernon Davis in the end zone for a 36-32 lead and final score.
Later on, the Denver Broncos faced off against the feared New England Patriots, but this time without a typical Broncos-underdog-come-from-behind win. Tom Brady tied the NFL postseason record for TD passes in a single game with a total of 6, five of which were in the first half. The Broncos, led by NFL celeb Tim Tebow, fell to the Patriots by a landslide 45-10.
On Sunday, the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens went head to head. Joe Flacco and his defense looks like it could be overtaken and outscored by a solid QB. What the guys are curious about– TJ Yates, why did you feel the need to bomb to ball 50 yards when you were at the 1st and 10 at the BAL 48 with 2 minutes and 2 timeouts remaining. Huh? Mistakes like this may have cost them the game. The Ravens ended up on top, 20-13.
For the final face off of the weekend, the New York Giants played the Green Bay Packers. Jeff feels that if the officials had actually been making better calls, it would have been even a bigger blow out. Steven looks back when he said the winner of the Giants/Cowboys would go to the Championship Game and demands an apology from Jeff. Don’t confuse flagellation with flatulation. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Jeff Fisher holds two teams holding their breath while he holds them hostage as he tries to narrow down his options for the Head Coaching job. Sources are saying that he has managed to get his list down to two teams, the Rams and the Dolphins, but he’s been flip floppin on his decision. There are advantages to both teams, the stability of the Dolphins is a major advantage, but having QB Sam Bradford and the #2 pick is very tempting. Give us your answer, the guys are waiting!
One of the players from the 49ers Special Teams unit, Blake Costanzo, joins the guys looking forward to this weekends game against the saints. The guys ask him about what its like to be on special teams, how they plan to stop Darren Sproles, and finally, who’s got it better than us? That’s right, nobody!
The guys bring on the latest NFL Draft Declarees! Andrew Luck announced he will leave Stanford and enter this years NFL Draft. Heisman Trophy winner, Robert Griffin III has informed Baylor that he will be entering the NFL Draft as well. Now that NCAA restrictions are off, Matt Barkley of USC decided he wants to remain in school to get a chance at the National Championship. WR Justin Blackmon from OSU said he will also leave to join the NFL Draft with Alabama’s Trent Richardson and Dre Kirkpatrick and Wisconsin’s QB Russell Wilson.

<itunes:summary>Despite not making the playoffs, the New York Jets have managed to steal the headlines from all the other Tebow and Packers news hype. Once again with the anonymity this year, some Jets players have been running their mouth about Santonio Holmes and Mark Sanchez, and the guys don’t like it.
Today, the guys get a surprise call from New York Giants Cornerback Prince Amukamara and they discuss his affinity for the UK, especially Pippa Middleton (Kate Middleton’s sister). The guys find out that Prince is… an actual prince! He also had an interesting answer when pressed for a prediction regarding the NFC Divisional game against the Green Bay Packers. For the complete interview, come on out to www.NFLRandR.com.
Jeff and Steven take a ride on the Coaching Carousal. Falcons Offensive Coordinator Mike Mularkey, the guy who Falcons offensive got shutout against the Giants, gets the Head Coach position for the Jacksonville Jaguars under new owner Shahid Khan. Tony Sparano is officially the new Offensive Coordinator for the New York Jets after Brian Schottenheimer says farewell to the team.

<itunes:summary>Hugh Jackson finds himself off the hot seat and into the unemployment line today. The Oakland Raiders released him today and plan to announce shortly that Reggie McKenzie will be the first GM of the team. His job was to fire Jackson as word got out he was a bit power hungry after the passing of Al Davis. As they say, the best was to beat competition… is to fire them! The Raiders started this season at a healthy 7-4, but ended up a meager 8-8.
The guys are sad to report that the son of Offensive Coordinator, Joe Philbin, was found dead in a frozen river. Michael Philbin, 21, was reported missing 2am on Sunday. The team this game will certainly be playing with very heavy hearts as they recognize the great loss to one of their leaders. No foul play is expected, however that doesn’t lessen the impact of a parent having to outlive their child. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Philbin’s and the Packers.
NFLShop.com reports that they will no longer be selling Tebow jerseys. Lawsuit? Politics? Neither– they are just out of stock! That’s right, NFLShop.com, the official NFL online store has simply run out of jerseys of the latest playoff hero. What’s going on here! Tim Tebow gets some revenue from the jerseys, but he JUST got $250,000 for winning over the Pittsburgh Steelers this past weekend.

<itunes:summary>As Wild Card weekend has come to a close, the guys look at the games that went down, especially the most WILD one. The series came to a close with the Broncos and Steelers facing off. To much surprise, the Broncos kept neck and neck with the Steelers leading into overtime. Just itching to exercise the new overtime playoff rules, Tebow threw to Thomas for a 80 yard touchdown to end the game quietly.
The Giants roll the Falcons and the G-men hold the Falcons completely scoreless by the end of the game. The only points they earned were from the defense, but you can never beat the Giants with just safeties. NY won 24-2 over Atlanta
Speaking of shutouts, the Saints scored a hot 35 points in the 2nd half against the Lions to seal the coffin with a 45-28 win in the Super Dome. They now remain undefeated at home with a perfect 9-0 record, but now must travel afar a go outdoors without their supporting home crowd.
The Texans stifle the Bengals in an embarrassing 31-10 stomping during the 1st Wild Card game on Saturday. Arian Foster ran over the Bengals defense this game and proved he hasn’t been effected by all the obstacles earlier this year.
Romeo, O Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? I’ll tell ya, he’s in Kansas City! Romeo Crennel and the Chiefs have agreed to a 3 year contract as interim head coach this past Sunday. The guys expect big things from him this coming season

<itunes:summary>San Diego fans can finally take a breath, they have come back from the slaughter house with a few open positions. Defensive Coordinator Greg Manusky was relieved of his duties this week after just one season on the job after coming down from the now elite San Francisco 49ers. Last year, it was the Special teams, now its the Defense. When is someone going to realize where the real problems lie? *cough* AJ Smith *cough*
The infamous New York Jets had another player get fined for unnecessary actions. The Jets organization have fined linebacker Bart Scott $10,000 for an obscene gesture aimed right at a media photographer in the locker room on Monday. First of all, if you’re going to do anything that might border on obscene, don’t do it straight towards a photographer or camera man. Second, what was he even doing? Profane sign language?
Finally, for the first time in NFL Rants and Raves history, we have a remote connection to Chrissy Weathersby Ball who is joining us with some Tebow time updagtes in front of Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver. For those of you who go way back, the nostalgia will kick in, for those new listeners, enjoy the interview.

<itunes:summary>It’s reported that the Jets want to get their hands on Colt’s QB Peyton Manning. When you think about it, what NFL team DOESN’T want a healthy Peyton. If he did go to NY, he could be reunited with his brother, kinda like Green Acres- but in reverse. Maybe they can live together in one of Donald’s huge places on the east side with a nice overlooking view of the park.
Oakland Raiders bring us an injury update! Hugh Jackson announced today that RB Darren McFadden could play this weekend… if the Raiders made the playoffs.
Congratulations to new Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Kahn who officially owns the team. The guys put on their best mustaches to honor the special occasion. Good luck next year!
Ben Roethlisberger can’t help but release his current health status to the media when ever it updates! In a special segment, the guys bring in some questions from the social media realm. Lee Sanders asks, Will the Patriots get over the “one and done” curse? Stephen Kearns wonders, “Can a beat up TJ Yates withstand those Bengal tigers once more? Finally, James Ramshaw questions, “Are the Ravens better with or without Ray Lewis?”

<itunes:summary>Happy New Year, everyone! 2012 comes with some grim news to some teams coaching staff’s. The St. Louis Rams let go of Head Coach Steve Spagnoluo and coaching staff plus General Manager Billy Devaney. The Tampa Bay Buccs fire Raheem Morris and staff. Colts owner Jim Irsay gives the pink slips to chairman Bill Polian and GM Chris Polian. Finally, the Bears say goodbye to GM Jerry Angelo. I guess they have some 2012 resolutions to keep to.
Only 12 out of 32 teams remain to press on towards Super Bowl 46 beginning Saturday. The Wild Card Weekend begins with Cincinnati at Houston and the Detroit Lions at the New Orleans Saints. Sunday brings Atlanta to the New York Giants and the Broncos to host the Steelers. Baltimore, Greenbay, San Francisco, and New England all get the week off in preparation for next weeks games. Since neither of Steven’s teams made it to the playoffs, he chooses either the Saints of the 49’ers for the NFC and Steelers and Ravens in the AFC.
Surprise, surprise, surprise. In Week 17, Jeff looks back and finds the biggest surprise for him is Green Bay Packers QB, Matt Flynn. He’s performed so well and possibly stepped on the toes of Rodger’s shot at MVP. Steven is shocked so many teams could have been in the playoffs based on week 17 wins, but so many failed. The Cowboys, Jets, Broncos, Raiders, and Bengals all needed just one win, but failed.. yet still the Broncos and Bengals still got in.

<itunes:summary>Today is the big day. It’s the last show for the guys.. until 2012 that is! The new year unfortunately bears great burdens on some. The guys speculate that Steve Spagnuolo, Norv Turner, Raheem Morris, some interim head coaches and others will be without a job on Monday based on their performance this season and season’s past.
EL JUEGO GRANDE ESTUPENDO DEL DIA! That’s right, there are no other games this week except for on Sunday. All the teams will play, but only one game really matters in the playoffs run– that’s the 8-7 Giants hosting the 8-7 Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. The outcome will determine who represents the NFC East (and possibly Tom Coughlin’s job).
For once, the Oakland Raiders stand at the utter edge of history. That’s right, they are a mere 11 yards from the most penalty yards in the league. In addition to that, they need only a small 4 penalties called to break the league record for that as well. The current record holder is the Kansas City Chiefs… from 1998. They should be relieved that after 13 years, that burden can finally be passed on. Good luck and God Speed to you, Oakland Raiders. We’re all rooting for ya!
Happy New Year! Be safe, have fun, cherish the season!

<itunes:summary>The Pro Bowl Roster is out and the tongues are a-waggin! Both the Patriots and the 49’ers top the list with a total of 8 players from each team going to the Pro Bowl. Terrell Suggs defends his lack of a spot with the explanation that the Raven’s will be going to the Super Bowl, so they won’t have time for the Pro Bowl. the 4 teams that got shut out this year from the Pro Bowl are the Titans, Rams, Bills, and Redskins. The guys are shocked that Phillip Rivers, Antonio Gates, Greg Jennings, and BJ Raji are all going to be playing in Honolulu this year.
Biggest surprise of the year? The guys and the fans all have different takes. For Jeff, It’s the rookie-turned-superstar, Cam Newton at the Carolina Panthers. Not only is he breaking rookie records, but also all time QB records during his rookie season. Jeff apologizes sincerely for underestimating Cam and his football abilities. Steven brings up the fact of the “Youngry” or “Yuckry” buccs fell flat on their faces this season. While starting out strong at 4-2, they fell asleep at the wheel and fell 8 games to a 4-10 record. The fans on Facebook seem to be surprised by the 49’ers who have totally turned around this year by the lead of Coach Jim Harbaugh doing some pruning of the team, making them an elite top-tier football organization.
We’ve been heard! The Bengals fans have responded and have avoided a black out for the second time this season. It’s not great, but at least its improvement!
