Do you need to hire a professional article writer or should you write your own SEO articles? You can attempt either but it is important, even if you are hiring someone else, to know a little about what’s needed for effective SEO writing. This will help you spot a great article writer.

If you want to do this yourself and have a knack for writing and are good at research, you can effectively write many articles on the same subject and get good results if you follow some solid advice.

Some people both in and outside the content business shudder when I talk about having to write large batches of articles about the same subject, especially if it’s an obscure or narrow niche topic. Many clients of mine come to me for large batches of articles about the same subject because they need unique content and that’s one of my specialties. I once had to write twenty-four unique articles about synthetic industrial rubber in a span of a few days. Another time I wrote fifty articles about Spyware in a few days. Once I wrote 700 short articles in a month about online learning. Last month I wrote 53 articles about Florida real estate investing. You’d better believe it was very tricky to not write the same thing over and over!

As a business, when you want to increase your inbound links , improve organic SEO, or build awareness of your products online, article writing is a fabulous idea. You can use the articles on your site and sprinkle them throughout cyberspace to help increase your site’s visibility and traffic levels. The idea of writing multiple articles on the same subject can be daunting though and this is where an article writer can come in handy.

How do I write so many unique articles on one topic?

Writing many articles on one topic is sometimes easy and sometimes it’s not a simple task. Depending on the subject matter and the type of articles and goals my client has I might take several approaches. When a batch is really large, sometimes I split it into several smaller batches so I can concentrate on multiple ideas. Breaking a topic down into ideas can help. Keyword research can also help tremendously. Sometimes you can figure out just what to write about on a topic by finding out what others are searching for. Look at what the top Google results are about too! Sometimes, clients have several different keywords and that’s a great way to differentiate articles. You can also write several articles with the same idea but with different words. Some of my other approaches are my own secret golden formula and the ability to get creative and use a thesaurus comes in handy in my line of work. I do also sometimes split batches among several writers as well so that the articles can be truly unique. When you get stale on a subject you can be surprised at what someone else can come up with!

I often take a batch of keywords or a list and start by extensive researching and then some brainstorming. Fairly quickly it can be evident what approach and ideas might work and be interesting or entertaining. I know that when I write a large batch (or even a small batch) of articles, I need to accommodate two tasks.

* First, I need to make the articles readable and interesting.

* Second, I need to make them attractive to search engine spiders.

I do keyword research and take a Long Tail approach and very often you’ll find that when you look closer at articles I write for you that a single article is really optimized for more than one keyword. I’m hoping to give you value and increase your results by making the article more likely to be indexed multiple ways. More relevant keywords equals more relevance on a subject according to users and to search engines. Spinning Articles

At times I have to spin articles a little. This might mean repositioning a few paragraphs and then rewording them. This can create a whole new article about the same subject but one that wouldn’t be discovered by a duplicate content filter. While we don’t want to regurgitate the same content over and over, when you are submitting to multiple article directories you might want to use this approach at least minimally to get more mileage out of your articles.

When you need to reach a wide audience by way of several article directories, re-titling, writing unique meta descriptions and spinning the article content can work to your advantage. The most important thing about articles for your company is that you have unique and varied content in the article writing that accomplishes the task of piquing the interest of the reader as well as meeting the needs of search engines.

With all the “How To” articles, and great advice available online today, great website promotion and running a successful online business still comes down to the simple act of providing great service and helping people with their concerns and/or problems. This article will give 4 key points in providing great website promotion.

1. Fantastic Customer Service

2. Upfront and Visible Contact Information and Support Services

3. Useful and Informative Content

4. Keep it Simple

Incredibly, myself included, we always seem to get carried away with following the latest promotion tips and trends that seem to be the current craze at the time. Granted, it is imperative as entrepreneurs to always have an open mind to new technologies, and marketing techniques. However, we must not forget the simple and proven tasks of being available to help others out. Successful website promotion at its core is all about the customer, or the person browsing your website. In this age of virtually instant communication, positive “word of mouth” recommendations and feedback of other’s about your site/product is absolutely invaluable to the long term health, growth, and sustainability of your endeavors.

You might be saying “We all already know that fantastic customer service is important” However, do you realize how important? Large corporations spend literally hundreds of millions a year just on customer surveys which evaluate their companies effectiveness to their consumer. If you have not yet sent out a simple survey asking your customers/clients, etc of how you can serve them better, this should become your next project this coming week. Overall however there are a couple key things to remember in providing “Fantastic Customer Service”.

1. Prompt and quick response to any questions/comments received.

2. Provide prompt solutions and/or advice as soon as possible

3. Always keep customers/clients advised of the steps you are taking to help them.

(IE If you cannot find an immediate solution, advise them, of the additional steps you are attempting to take on their behalf)

5. Send out a quarterly survey to a random group asking them what you could improve on.

6. Finally, take steps to initiate at least one new tool every quarter to help improve the Fantastic Customer Service you already provide. (This is what wills et you apart)

Providing Visible customer contact information, and help resources is another important step in providing Fantastic customer service. In today’s world most customers like to be able to have resources available in order for them to resolve their own concerns/questions. By the time a customer calls or emails you it is often too late, and your customer is probably already agitated. Here are a few suggestions to help your consumer solve some of their own concerns, should they choose to do so. Remember, the faster a concern is addressed and solved, the more, and better recognition you will receive as that customers shares their experience about you, your product, and/or website.

1. Keep an updated and thorough FAQ section. (Make sure it is easy to find)

2. If possible integrate a trouble ticket support system (This way the customer can always access, and see the status of their question/concern)

3. Consider integrating a live help system(Again, offering an immediate solution vs. making customers wait for a response.) I would recommend www.phplivesupport.com/

5. Consider creating a support forum for all users to ask questions and be able to search through answers to past questions.

In this section I will combine the “Useful and Informative Content” with “Keeping it Simple”. There have been many articles written on the importance of having useful and informative content on your website. Not only does this help you in your quest to achieve a high search engine ranking, especially with Google, but perhaps even more importantly you are once again providing a useful service to your customers and/or clients. I realize much should not have to be said about this topic, however I will finish this article stressing the importance of “Keeping it Simple” I have seen many websites that do have large volumes of great and useful information.

Many times this is done in hopes of achieving a greater ranking in the search engines. However, what these websites have gained in content, they have lost in simple website navigation. Keep in mind, that studies have shown, that that average website visitor is looking to find a solution in under one minute. Combining great content with a simple and easy user interface will not only improve your website’s functionality, but produce even more satisfied and repeat customers.

With only a few simple adjustments to your customer service policies, can result in the best promotional campaign you have ever implemented. This will start you well on your way in achieving exponential growth in website traffic, revenue, and customer satisfaction.

By building link popularity, you launch a campaign to get one way inbound links from other websites. Building link popularity makes other websites post links to your site. They do so if you convince them with great content that’s worth introducing at their sites.

The result will be higher page rank, traffic and revenue to your website and online business. Incoming links play a fundamental role in the popularity of your website among search engines - link popularity.

Inbound Links and Website Credibility

You should have heard all Internet marketers saying “content is king”! How does this relate to our topic? Well, the answer is very simple: By building link popularity. In other words, it occurs when you have a content that is comprehensive, informative, useful, interesting and unique. Help other other websites find you and post links to your site.

This means that other websites regard the information, product or service you sell as valuable. Then, you receive inbound links from them. Every single quality one way link from a website to you is a credit you receive for your content. So, start building link popularity before it gets late.

The most successful method of inbound links come from:

* Pages with relevant theme and topic,

* Pages with higher Google page rank,

* Content pages, not link pages,

* Well-known directories like DMOZ and Yahoo,

* Online encyclopedias,

* University websites, and

* Creditable websites from your niche or category.

Inbound Links in the Eyes of Search Engines

Search engines give you lots of credit for inbound links. Building link popularity helps your website be found more often and more easily. Some of them help your webpage get higher ranking too.

Google relies a lot on your inbound links and gives you higher ranking for the quality links your web pages receive. For Google, link popularity, quality inbound links your site gets from other websites, is more important than on-site optimization like meta data, tags, headings, etc.

Although the number of links you get plays a substantial role here, the quality of inbound links does more good to your website in building link popularity.

Another advantage of building link popularity is to have more indexations in various search engines. In other words, when there are more pages outside your site linking to you, your website becomes more visible for search engines and consequently for your visitors.

What’s a Quality Inbound Link?

There are several essential factors that should exist in the link-sending pages so that search engines consider your inbound links quality ones. Here are some:

1. The page that sends a link to you should have content relevant to your page receiving it.

2. It will be even a lot better if the link-sending page has got the same keywords as your link-receiving page.

3. It’s preferred to get links from a page the title of which contains the same keyword as your link-receiving page.

4. It’s recommended to receive text links from pages the rank of which are equal to your link-receiving page or even higher. Generally, it’s better, at least, to have links from +2PR web pages within a website with good future.

5. The link-sending page shouldn’t have taken illegitimate measures to obtain high page rank from search engines.

6. It’s better to get inbound links from pages in which there aren’t more than 30 outbound links. Pages with +100 outgoing links are considered “link farms” by search engines. They don’t get any credits from search engines. On the contrary, they get banned for what they’re doing.

7. If the link-sending page uses a banner to post a link to your website, it should have your keyword within the alt tag of the banner.

Note: Building link popularity isn’t an easy work to do. It also takes a remarkable amount of your time, but when you see the results, you’ll agree with other SEO experts that it’s been worth struggling for inbound links. It pays off the hassle.

Practically everyone knows the best way to increase your website or blog traffic is through SEO or search engine optimization. By using the proper keywords in your title, description, and other meta tags you can greatly increase your sites value with search engine web crawlers and bots.

However, this can take significant time to begin to show results. In addition, if you are paying another company or individual for this service, it can be quite costly.

So how do we drive targeted traffic to our sites in a short amount of time with the least amount of monetary input? After reading several articles and tips, here are the five ways I think are the most effective (in no particular order):

Free Ad Share Networks

One of the best examples of this is AdGridwork.com. This service uses the same principle as other text based advertising in that relevant ads appear on relevant sites. It does not generate huge amounts of traffic, but the visitors are highly targeted.

Office Emails

We have all seen them. They may be jokes, videos, or inspiring stories but they can create a flood of traffic. Simply insert one or more links to your site at the top or bottom of the message (after deleting all the other unnecessary information first). Forward this on to as many friends as you normally do and there is a chance for some major traffic by the time the email finally stops circulating.

Business Cards

There are a number of sites offering free business cards these days. Simply do a search for ‘free business cards’ and pick the service of your choice. Place your site name and a short blurb on the card during ordering. When the cards arrive, give them to friends or leave a few in office lunchrooms, cafeterias, or near check stands at grocery stores (with permission, of course).

Email Signature Lines

Configure your email signature to include a link to and a blurb about your website. Every time you send an email to anyone, you are advertising your site.

Join a Forum Related to Your Topic

There are millions of forums on the internet today. As an example, if your site is about planets, you could do a search for astronomy forums. Begin posting and sharing your ideas. Each time you post you can leave your link there as well. Be careful with overdoing this method. You do not want to be accused of spamming the forum. Just take an avid interest in the topic and this will work wonders for your site or blog.

Many other free traffic methods exist. By following even one example from this list your traffic will increase over time. If you perform all of the examples above you will be surprised at the amount of traffic you can generate for your site. And remember, this traffic will be targeted and cost much less than paid advertisements.

I will be changing the Nameserver to stop pointing this domain to the old ISP#2 (as I call it) to the new ISP#3 location.

As such, if you can read this post .. the nameserver changes has NOT kicked in, but should be doing so within the next 12-24 hours (or so). From experience, I have noticed that it is not an instant change and there will be some areas of the world that will be able to view the site on the new server before others are able to. Eventually, it should all work out!

Once I see the changes takes into effect myself .. I will start posting immediately on this blog.

Then .. STAGE TWO will take place .. making sure everything works and the transfers were completely successful. So if you see anything wierd or unusual .. please drop me a line - hart (at) PetLvr (dot) com - and let me know! Thanks.

By Mark Fortimer

Your navigation must be simple to follow, and no navigation visible to spiders should take them away from your webpage. You must also start working on getting some good links back to your website. Links work best if they are directed to specific pages on your site, and not to a ‘links’ page. However, not all links are good. All one way links are good, where you do not have to provide a reciprocal link back to the other party’s site, but these are getting increasingly more impossible to get.

If your link is a reciprocal link, whereby you both provide a link to each other, the site with the lower Google page ranking gets the best deal. If you have a page rank of 5 and a site with the normal page rank of 0 to 3 asks you for a reciprocal link, they will get more benefit from it than you will. So, while you need links, get them intelligently. However, if you find negotiation for links difficult, also keep in mind that even links from new sites are better than no links at all.

Finally, contrary to what everybody tries to tell you, especially those selling search engine submission services, there is no need to submit your site to a search engine. A true search engine such as Google, or Yahoo now that it is more than just a website directory, searches the World Wide Web for websites containing keywords relating to the terms used by Google customers. You don’t have to ‘submit’ a site to have it spidered, and sometimes it is better that you don’t.

It will help, however to submit a sitemap to both Google and Yahoo, and both of these search engines provide information on how to do that. If you learn how to get listed on search engines by carrying out these simple logical steps, then you should be able to generate free traffic every time you have a new website that you want published on the internet.

If you want to be successful in internet marketing, you have to know how to get listed on search engines. There are certain steps you can take to facilitate this, and also certain things you must not do, or you will fail.

The secret to success is to make your website as relevant to the keyword it is targeting as possible, and to make the site easy for the search engine spiders to follow. It does not matter how many pages your website has: each page that is important must be able to be easily crawled by the search engines, and each page that has less relevance, or is less important, should be hidden. You should have a good long look at every page in your site and decide whether or not it is providing good information on the topic to a visitor.

If you decide that it is not, you should then decide whether or not the page is necessary, and whether it should stay on the site. If not, then remove it. If so then keep it on, but hide it from the spiders using ‘rel=nofollow’ in your html. You must not overuse this but neither should you expose pages to the search engines that do not offer good and relevant content to visitors as spiders perceive it. Examples of pages that might not do so, but that are necessary on your website, are affiliate sales pages that you want visitors to look at, but will not add to the perceived value of your site in the eyes of search engine spiders, or squeeze pages designed to collect email addresses, but that do not provide good content related to the subject of your website as a whole.

Once you are sure that every page on your site that the spiders are allowed to crawl provides good content, then you can work to improve that content. Do not use too many keywords. If you site has been built around the subject of American Literature, the use the words American Literature no more than three times every 500 words. Forget the old advice of 1% – 3% keyword density. If you used your keyword 15 times in a 500 word page or article, you would have very little chance of Google listing you.

Link building is a technique that most webmasters find hard to execute. Years ago it was simple enough, choose your key word for your anchor text and use it for all incoming links. Now, that just doesn’t have the importance it once did and most sites are trying to rank well for more than just one keyword.

First, what is an anchor text? Quite simply it is the text used in your incoming links. So if someone linked to your site using “Big Widgets”, Big Widgets is the anchor text. Now the keywords you use as anchor text contributes to the importance of the page it links too and the search engines will give that page a small boost in the rankings when someone searches for that term. Hopefully, you can see the extreme importance to picking the right anchor text. This is meant to work in conjunction with all the other optimization you do for your site and is an important cog in the wheel of your SEO strategy but not the whole wheel itself.

Here are a few do’s and don’ts on link building especially if you are new to link building and hopefully a few reminders for those that have been doing it a while.

- Do link with sites that may be of interest to your visitors. Often referred to as relevant links, these links are deemed more worthwhile to have than just any link. For example if your site is about cars, a link from a site that sells real estate will do you no good compared to a link from a site that sells car parts.

- Do link with sites that have a clearly labeled link page from their main page. Hidden or hard to find link pages do not help you build traffic. Of course getting a link directly on the home page would be best but if you can not, at least make sure there is a chance someone may find it.

- Do stay organized. Use a spreadsheet, notebook or link exchange software to help you keep track of the link exchanges you have requested and the contact details of the webmasters. This will help you save time by not trying to contact someone who just denied you a link and help you do follow up with those that need to be.

- Don’t confuse quantity with quality. Trust me; the search engine will never confuse them. Good, relevant quality links will win over time. Don’t believe me, check out a popular search term and see how many back links the sites in the top position have. You may be surprised to find that must have less than 500.

- Don’t assume everybody will link with you. Sometimes it may be hard to understand but some sites will not be interested no matter how good the offer to trade links with you. Don’t get discouraged, move to the next site and then the next until you find a site that will, then do it again.

- Don’t use link farms. Link farms are pages we have all seen that have little or no real content and are just covered with link after link. You are unlikely to get extra traffic from them and it may cost you in terms of a search engine penalty.

Link building is imperative to having a good search engine ranking and a good link building strategy is one that is straight forward and never ends. Don’t try short cuts and be very particular whom you link too. It could mean lots of money and ranking if you build links the right way.
