In the event of inclement weather, Jae-Won will perform at the black box theater not far from 6BC at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts’ Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, at 113-A 2nd Avenue, between 6th and 7th Streets. All registrants will be notified by e-mail if our rain location will be used.&lt;br /&gt;         &lt;br /&gt;Korean-Canadian violinist Jae-Won Bang has been playing the violin since the age of five. At age thirteen, she made her orchestral debut performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the White Rock Festival Orchestra in Canada. She has participated in numerous festivals and workshops such as the Domaine Forget Chamber Music Session and the Morningside Music Bridge in Canada , Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg , the Encore School for Strings in Ohio, Sarasota Music Festival in Florida, Kneisel Hall Festival in Maine and the New York Strings Orchestra Seminar at Carnegie Hall. As a chamber musician she has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Martin Chalifour, Steven Dann, Jean-Michel Fonteneau, Amiram Ganz, Ronald Leonard and Arnold Steinhardt and has also actively participated in the Maestro Foundation's Chamber Music Academy for several seasons.&lt;br /&gt;         &lt;br /&gt;Recent engagements include performances with the Long Beach Festival Orchestra as the grand prize winner of the Long Beach Mozart Festival, serving as the associate concermaster of the Debut YMF Orchestra and representing the Yale School of Music at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC in the Millennium Stage's "Conservatory Project" series. Her previous teachers include Toni and Gerald Stanick and in 2008, she obtained her Bachelor of Music degree at the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles, CA under the tutelage of Robert Lipsett. Qi Cao will present a series of pieces on aspects of love from friendship to patriotism to amorous encounters to spiritual love scored by the greatest composers of musical history. She was the winner of the senior violin category and the overall grand prize winner in CT- American Strings Teaching Association Music Competition and the first prize winner of the artist category in the National Piano and Violin Competition in Singapore. In the Gisborne music Competition in New Zealand, she was awarded a special prize, "International String Player Award".  In July 2007, at the Kennedy Center/National Symphony Orchestra Summer Institute in Washington D.C, she won the Concerto Competition and performed Paganini's Violin Concerto No.1 with the SMI Orchestra at the Kennedy Center.&lt;br /&gt;    &lt;br /&gt;Miss Cao has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and fellowships including the Round Top International Summer Music Festival, Italy Lyrics Academy, Toronto Music Academy, Pacific Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, the Australia Summer Orchestra Institute, the National D.C Kennedy Centre/NSO Summer Institute, the Cleveland Encore Strings Summer Institute and Chautauqua Music Festival. She was chosen as an exchange student to the Peabody Institute, John Hopkins University in the U.S and awarded the Dean's List. Miss Cao has been awarded the Student Achievement Award for Arts and Culture, Artist Development Award by the National University of Singapore and she has also made the Dean's List four times and graduated with first class honors.&lt;br /&gt;    &lt;br /&gt;Miss Cao is a very active soloist, chamber and orchestra player, and teacher who has been performing and teaching extensively in the United States, Australia, Japan, China and Singapore.
