I did not know if I would blog again. Rethinking my priorities in life after my breakup, I chose to focus on work. But it ate me up, and inspiration suddenly disappeared.

This is what I love to do. This is the outlet that has given me inspiration. For all the advice that I have given in life, sadly I didn’t follow this heart of mine. Work is great, but to put yourself out there, and to inspire even one more soul is truly the gift and the happiness that I feel. I’ll have to thank Lyn, my dearest friend for lifting me up and inspiring me to move forward with this great blog.

And by the way everyone, here’s a great song, that I hope you love as much as I do… Heart of Mine by Peter Salett from the Movie Keeping The Faith. And yes, I believe it will turn into Gold…

As with all things that are good, beautiful, and great, sometimes we just need to let go of our fears. The gift of love, the gift of being in a relationship with someone you care about, and hopefully someone you fall in love with, is enough for me to hope, and hold on to that hope until that day comes, when I find the right person for me.

Don’t be afraid to fall or be in love. Take it from me, after a brief, yet heartbreaking split from my girlfriend, I have come to realize all the good moments, the blessings, the undeniable love that we had for each other. To have had just one day in that kind of relationship, I think, is more than enough to take that risk, and experience this heartache.

Love, be in love, and accept love. This is the inspiration I know that has come from my past relationships. In the end, we have but one life, and if this is all we have, then experience everything, the good, the bad, and the sometimes inspirational and wonderful thing we call LOVE.

I haven’t been blogging as of late, life does become a bit busy nowadays. I’m an engineer, but other than that, I’m also a son, an uncle, a nephew, and a boyfriend. But that last description, as of two weeks ago, is over. I can no longer describe myself as a boyfriend, because two weeks ago my girlfriend and I went our separate ways.

These days, I didn’t expect much from the relationship, but I had hoped that maybe, it could have lead to something more. But, these are the life experiences that we go through. Being still young, I’m not too heart broken, I guess a little bit more sad. Thus, with my sadness, I wasn’t too sure, my writing would reflect an inspiration tone.

But breaking up in itself, can be inspirational, because it may mark the end of something, but then again, it’s a start of something else too. I’m excited to be a bachelor once again, but not ready to get my feet wet with dating still yet. I treasured my time with my girlfriend, and in the end, I’m happy that we will still remain friends.

Breaking up, at that specific moment, was definitely a hard thing to do. It did break my heart, but two weeks to think and ponder on the gift I was given, I’m glad for the relationship, and I wouldn’t have changed it, not one bit.

I could not stop crying, the beauty of his voice, the angelic music, and a feeling of just wanting to tell him, “you have a gift from God, you were meant to do this.” Truly inspiring. After the video, it was as if I watched an entire movie. It had it all, our unassuming hero, a triumphant moment, and an almost climactic and inspirational ending.

Being a Chemical Engineer, other than writing, I have a passion for the sciences. And being so in love with life, I cannot help but connect the two, Science and Life, because they truly are connected.

I’d like to talk about relationships today, that of a husband and a wife.. The love between the two echoes into the lifetime of generations to come. When we talk about our great grandfathers, and our great grandmothers, the patriarchs and the matriarchs of our family tree. We look to them at their astonishing accomplishment, because from their union, came the lives of so many individuals including that your own.

And that is why, I often say, that in a family, the most important relationship there is, is that between the husband and the wife. Because from that relationship, their children will have the template for what a loving relationship is. The ultimate gift that you can often give to your children, is not of money, but the knowledge of love and how to love.

And now to the title of this post, the boiling point. This is the point, I would wish for all marriages to reach, and to maintain.

For in many relationships, we often observe, that a heated and passionate love affair before marriage, suddenly cools down, and remains cold for the rest of their marriage, if indeed that marriage can move on…

But what if, you can start out cool, and work your way up to boil, reach that boiling point, and keep your marriage passionate and filled with love.

Isn’t this the marriage that we would all want for ourselves?

It’s possible, and it takes work, but you need to turn on the fire. That fire of course comes from an understanding of how to love. The knowledge that love consists of compassion, understanding, respect, affection, empathy, and of course, spending time together.

In many things we do in life, it is not so much as how you start, but rather, it is how you finish. Keep the fire burning, and your boiling point will be reached and maintained.

I have shared to you some of my love letters in the past few months, so I thought you may like the following letter to my father. This is this year’s letter to my father, I wrote it within 5 minutes. It’s amazing at how the words flow, when you write from the heart. I hope you enjoy, just an early present for Father’s Day

My Dearest Papa,

It’s but once a year that they have a day for you, and yet, it’s hardly enough for what you do and what you have done for me and your family. You have taught me, personally, so much. My gratitude and love for you is immeasurable.

You taught me to work hard and enjoy family. You taught me the price of honesty and that it cannot be negotiated. You taught me about life through your own experiences… I am grateful

When I was young, we would have milk together, in the mornings, while you read the paper. I would share my thoughts and the dream I just had, and the most lovely memory I have had was that you always listened. You asked me about my favorite cartoons and enjoyed my stories of wonderful fantasy… I am grateful

When I grew up, you were stern when you needed to be, but mostly loving because you knew that would be the most important way to get through to me. Never once did I not feel your love, even when you were angry. For this, I am grateful

And now, that I have grown, I remember the mornings we have had together and the many more mornings we will share. Although, the milk has been replaced with coffee, the most important thing has not, and that our relationship, our communication, and our talks, these remain the same…

I love you my dearest Papa, exactly like I told you when I was young… “I love you like the sun, big shiny and warm”

With Sunshine Love,
Nicholas

I’ve come to the realization that we all have a conglomerate of personalities that make up the whole of us. Say for example, you like tennis, you wouldn’t say that you’re a tennis player, but maybe you could say that you play tennis. There’s a part of us that is a tennis player inside.

And yet, when I’m with family, I suddenly find myself acting a bit childish. Whenever I’m at the table at a family get-together, it’s like being in high school all over again. That’s like the child in me.

And what about when I’m at work, very serious, focused, and very fast paced. That’s the work me.

And when I’m writing, in tuned with my creative self, tapping into the writer inside of me. That too is a part of me.

But in the end, it doesn’t define me, it is the sum of all these parts that define me. It is my love of family and the relationships that I have, it is the writer, the tennis player, the reader, and the engineer, the love of mathematics and science, and the uncle, the boyfriend, and a son… It’s all me, all of it. (more…)

With the break I’ve had, I realize that it’s sometimes necessary for us to get away for a while, reassess our goals, and regain our strength. Burn out is a terrible inhibitor for a creative mind, and it’s sometimes an inhibitor to having a successful life as well. I’m equally reminded, as I am a Christian, that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and indeed, we should also take care of the physical health as much as we should also take care of our spiritual and mental health.

Take a little break is what my mother usually says. I tend to be a hard worker, easily caught up in what I am doing, and tend to work straight for hours on end. If I didn’t have my girlfriend calling me once in a while, I could probably work for 16 hours at a time.

Now, it’s not good for our body, and we should also realize, that on the long term, this isn’t good for our mind as well.

We need to go on a vacation to recharge ourselves, our body will thank us for it, but we will also come to the realization that our mind will thank you for it as well.

As a final thought, we can always extend vacation to also mean taking time to rest during our every day tasks as well. Eat breakfast, savor your lunch, and enjoy the company of friends and family. A good day is always one that involves nurturing our relationships as well.
