Well Merry Christmas to all!

Today it is just one of those days that I experience one of those magical moments working from home and being self employed. I can do exactly what I want!!! It's my freedom and it's my choice! Family is in town and with more coming in tomorrow so my work will be light and my fun will start early!

I have the best boss in the world, me.

Today we are going to have fun with my second passion outside of making money. That's cooking! We are going to learn how to make one of the most amazing cheese balls of my life.

Ingredients needed:

1 8oz packaged of cream cheese
1 8oz package of cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp hot sauce
1 tsp steak sauce
2 TBLsp crushed pecans
2 TBLsp chili powder

Shred cheddar and let both cheeses stand and get room temp. Combine in a bowl and add garlic and onion powder then hot sauce and steak sauce. Wash hands throughly and mix well with hands. Nead the cheeses together with your fingers. After about 5 mins of mixing neading form a ball with mixture.

Roll out wax paper wax side up sprinkle a generous layer of the chili powder out and roll cheese ball mixure into it. Use your hands forming the ball to spread it out evenly then lay out crushed pecans and roll the ball in that to cover the outside.

Place ball on small dish cover loosely and let stand for 2 hours in the fridge.

While it is a travesty for any person or family to go through it is painful to watch as well. Someone who had it all crashes and burns and it's a public spectacle for all to watch. As Tiger Woods's struggles with his transgressions and deeply personal issues it would be easy for most of us to sit and judge and dwell on, but let's look at it differently. Building wealth is about seeing what others never noticed even if it's obvious. Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers in the world and right now no one is talking about his golf game. If we want to succeed we have to find models. And in some areas of Tiger's life it's fair to say with what the media has reported we certainly don't want to model. Now we are not talking about his golf game, that's pure talent. We all have talent. Every single one of us has our own God given talents. But what makes Tiger such a great golfer is his drive, desire and persistence. It's been well reported that when he's focusing on golf he is not researching or trying to figure things out. He is practicing! Practicing is an action. Thinking is inaction. We have all thought of ways to make more money or build wealth. If we actually put our talents and thoughts into action the results would be different. Most well meaning people never get past the thinking stage and there for never develop results.

Tiger Woods does not just play golf often, he is dedicated to it. He practices relentlessly even though he's the greatest in the world at putting a little round ball into a tiny cup. Do you think he knew he would be one of the wealthiest sports stars of all times? Probably not but he knew he would do well at gold because he made the decision to put an extreme amount of effort and be diligent at it. Find something you can do great and treat it like Tiger treats golf. Even has he slips and falls right now there still very positive things we can take from an example that Tiger Woods gives.

As a side note, I've never been a huge Tiger Woods fan but if we are judging, it is very difficult to be in action mode. Judgment is a slippery slope, once you judge someone right or wrong you cut off your ability to see the good things in them. That would hinder your ability to model what made them successful and learn from it.

Helping anyone create a 6 figure income is certainly not an easy task. Helping a stay home mom do it just simply by the nature of her lifestyle is even more difficult. We all know that stay home moms are the most over worked and under paid people on the planet. So for a mom who wants to make a six figure income from home three things must be in a place. First a simple process that you've followed your self, second you need to let the world know and find the moms with the right motivation and finally you must have full proof way for her to acquire clients and/or customers.

Let's start with the simple process. Are you in a real home business that works? I know that sounds like a dumb question but it has to be simple and work for everyone. Moms and certainly stay home moms are the busiest people on the planet. So for a mom to make a six figure income it does not have to be "easy" it has to be simple and doable. If you are going to help anyone make a 6 figure income have you already done it? Have you helped other people create that level of income? On our team we have become very intentional on how the top income earners and the newest income earners build their business. It's the exact same. When helping someone become successful you can generalize the process, you have to be very exact and specific in your game plan. One way to prove if a mom can do it is easy; just ask is this simple enough I can get 14 year old kids to do it? Not that mom's are on the same level as a 14 year old kid but she is extremely busy and doesn't have 4 years to succeed otherwise she would just go to college or get another job!

Second you need to let the world what you are doing very strategically so you can find those that are serious. The right opportunity definitely requires the right stay home mom. The process must be simple but the stay home mom but have a strong desire as well. Most moms have a ton going on all day long and if the desire to create a solid professional level of income from home is not there she will get distracted and procrastinate. Naturally when we have a lot on our plates we tend to do what we are most comfortable with first. Any new business adventure will not survive with that type of reason. Most mom's have been a stay home mom most of their adult life. Starting a business or even making a 6 figure income from home is not even something she may have ever considered before. So you definitely have to ensure that the determination is there. Simply conduct an interview with her just like you would for any other job or business you have.

Finally you have to ensure you have a solid proven way of helping the new stay home mom you are working with get new clients to become a 6 figure income earner. Moms don't have time to play around. The time they do have available is valuable. I have advertising companies that guarantee me a specific response via the Internet and that's how I've built 95% of my business and I introduce every single new business partner I work with to them. We build a business in the exact same way. I'm extremely confident that when I've selected a new mom to work with and they have the right motivation that they have an above average shot ad doing well and making a 6 figure income.

We need three primary things to help a stay home mom make a 6 figure income. First game plan on how you are going to get a mom to that level of success, so simple you know a motivated 14 year old could do it. Then you need to find the right mom, one with a high level of desire and motivation. Finally you must be able to ensure that getting clients is not a chore but rather a simple task. It has to work so well it is your primary way of building a business. All of your pieces have to come together and have allowed you to build a successful income part time. Most moms can only work part time. You may have made a ton of money but if it was not possible part time then you are not going to be helping any stay home mom.

Here is an article that I wrote a while back based off of some advertising on the Internet. The "Christian Home Business" Banner seems to only get bigger with time. Lots of it is just plain marketing but there are real ways to find a Christian home business and I wanted to share that in this article.

Many times as believers it is our desire to work with and associate with other believers. So if we have a choice to work a job or be in business for ourselves we always want to work around Christians. That often leads us to looking for a Christian Home Business. Three key things you must remember when finding a Christian home business. First you must pray before you start looking, in Matt. God gives us very good guidance when he instructs us to "Ask, Seek and Knock". Second you must find a Christian to work with. Birds of a feather flock together and if you find a strong Christian chances are he has surrounded himself with others like him. Third you have to understand that there is no such thing as a Christian Home Business there are just business that have a strong Christian environment because of the people that have become attracted to that environment.

First, you must pray. The foundation must be right in any search. You pray for wisdom and you pray for guidance. When you find what you are looking for you will know it. It will feel right. Now there may be challenges in the beginning there usually is with any business, but if you start with prayer you will be in the right position to succeed no matter what. Remember it's always better to face challenge in the will of God vs facing challenges outside of the will of God. There is no better freedom than working for yourself being your own boss and seeking the will of God. That's your goal!

Second, just find that one person who you can feel good is not only a Christian but is going to tell you what you need to know to succeed and not tickle your ears. You will know when you have that connection even if you just met the person over the phone. Make sure if you are looking for success that they have that success already. There are a lot of Christians that are successful financially and many that are not. If you are looking to build a Christian Home Business than make sure that you've found someone that has done it, that you can trust and you can follow.

Finally, you have to be cautious of anything titled "Christian Home Business"! While there are many good positive ways to make money from home or start a home business. There are also many ways to be marketed too as well. No single business can be a Christian Home Business only the people in the business can be Christians and create a Christian environment. No home business is going to heaven. I know it's kind of redundant to say but there is a lot of well meaning Christians jumping on the band wagon with anything labeled Christian! The label doesn't matter does it feel right and if you prayed trust your first instinct!

So if you are looking a Christian Home Business good luck there are a lot of successful Christians out there who I'm confident if you give it a 110% they will work with you. Just remember pray first, find a strong Christian person to work with and finally don't fall for "Christian Home Business" advertising. If you prayed look for that connection!

The training process that you use has to be one that is simple and can't be motivated from a point of manipulation. It has to be motivated from a place with a desire for each individual's success. If your training process works and your expert is legit then follow it yourself and lead by example.

Being laid off is one of the most fearful moments a mom or dad can feel. It's important to understand that even in this economy with unemployment increasing it's not over. You have several options available to you. Assess your situation, verify your resources and find a solution and act. That may be easier said than done but the fact remains you have to take control of your situation versus leaving it up to someone else.

You've just lost your job now what? Take some time and assess your situation. Who do you know that may help you with an opportunity or another job. Where are you at financially right now? What will you do to ensure that someone else isn't in control of your life in the future? With the answer to those questions you can begin to formulate a game plan. You can analyze what you have going for you and what your limits are.

Then you need to verify your resources and be truthful with yourself. Who can help you get a job even if it's part time? What can you do to ensure that losing your job is not something you will have to fear in the future? How can you make a living on your own or earn money part time from home. Can you do consulting work, can you start your own business from home and be in control of your own life. Occasionally it takes our backs against the wall for us to really open our eyes to what is possible. When you are verifying your resources on is your money that you may have saved, in the bank or retirement accounts maybe even cash value on insurance policies. You have to protect that resource and make it last as long as possible. When you spend or invest money you need to ensure it's for either survival or opportunity, obviously if you start a business it will take some of your liquid cash but it may also leave you in control.

The bottom line is this; you must assess your situation, verify your resources and find a solution. You have to act. Your company did not look out for you, your boss is not paying your bills and the government isn't giving you a bailout. You have two basic choices you can assess your situation and choose to wait it out spending your savings slowly over time till another opportunity comes or you can decide to create your own future. Do what America's founding fathers did and start your own business or develop your own way of making money and be in control of your life and no longer feel stress.

What Makes a Successful Home Based Business – 5 Tips

While many people would claim any attempt to generate more money from home as a home based business that may be true if you don’t classify making money as a requirement for success. Working from home is extremely lucrative in the right environment. Several things must be in place.

1. Support and Training: Bottom line no one should have to figure out how to get started making money. The process to be trained and to get support when needed should be readily available. Too often people do not ask for references when they start a business from home for the first time. Remember in the beginning you should never have to recreate the wheel. You shouldn’t even consider it till you are well passed 6 figures annually.

2. Lucrative Model: Every business you have to have a way to attract clients. You have to have a way of getting the word out. You have to have a product that people desire and you must have a way to present it. What is the process you receive and access the training we talked about earlier? Any new home based business that is successful needs to have shown there is a lucrative model. A lucrative model is a model that works for many not just one or two.

3. Profit Margin: Many times any difficulties in the marketing process can be overcome if the profit margin is lucrative enough. Meaning if you have more money per transaction it’s much easier to advertise for instance. A home business with a lucrative profit margin will mean you have more freedom to learn and grow your new business much more effectively. Never work with a company that plants the vision of spend spend spend now to reap the reward off in the distant future. While it may work for some, how many never make it?

4. Track Record: This is one litmus test that you cannot ever leave out. How long has the business been in existence? Often times this will tell you a lot about a company. While all new companies promote ground floor opportunities most of them fall through completely leaving a path of destruction for those who believed in it.

5. Risk vs Reward: The corner stone of every opportunity in life. Every new venture will have a certain amount of risk. We faced risk when we got on our bike the first time when we learned to ride it. We only learned to ride it because we took that risk. Now look we developed a lifelong skill. You can never eliminate risk, risk should only be measured objectively which means you must remove all hype. Look at those that already have the “reward” you are after. Are they real people? Are they approachable? If not what do that have to hide? Look for genuine people and you most likely have found a model that presents some risk but still achievable rewards for many.

Our 5 tips on what makes a successful home business definitely is not comprehensive but it is our sincere hope that you make a good solid decision. If you have solid training, lucrative model, large profit margin, track record and the risk vs reward is properly balanced you are well on your way. Remember once you make a decision never look back. Devote and commit yourself 110%. The most successful business model still take dedication to maximize its potential.

Coastal Travel Success Continues...

Coastal Travel, has been the simplest way to work from home and make legitimate income. It's 10:06 am and this is not a normal morning for me. I decided to spend some time with my wife this morning and then I wrestled around and played with my 5yr old daughter and 3yr old son. I'm just getting to work.

Now of course I normally get working sooner. But how many 30 year old dads get the choice on when they show up to work and when they can sleep in and spend quality time with their family. That freedom is something that I absolutely love about Coastal Travel. We've been doing it since July 27th 2005.

That's not bad, I wander how many people did not send an email in to say thanks! Between now and the end of the year my family will make between 15-25K if I had to guess. We definitely could do better, we will not do worse that's for sure. Not a bad income working part time. This is our only source of income!

The Hope Equation

We are all designed for a bigger purpose. We all have a uniquely different part to play but a part that must be played specifically and is important. But often times we don't realize our part for several reasons. The path we travel is what I would term the "Hope Equation"

Through life we have moments of Joy and we have that Joy because something has entered our life and given us Hope.

-We may have a new opportunity? If you work from home this probably happened to you when you started with your company.

-We may have received a gift that gave us opportunity?

-A window of time may have opened that has allowed us to see something that is possible for us that we did not see before?

Once we have that Joy we develop Hope for what we see is possible and a vision is planted in us. But that is when life seems to get difficult. We start to walk toward our vision because of our Hope and we will face opposition. The purpose of Hope is to allow us to Endure.

Endurance is required for us to grow and develop. It builds character and skill set in our lives. Think about the first time you rode a bike; was it easy? If you did not Endure would have ever developed that skill of riding a bike? It was the Hope or vision of what is possible that allowed you to move forward and develop that skill.

Sometimes as we Endure our natural temptation is to is the path of least resistance. Our flesh is strong and with out that Hope often times we will not persist through our season of Endurance. Our flesh is smart too our "self" knows how to challenge us best. When I would go to the gym for years I ran 3 miles a day several times a week and when I was 20 minutes into my run which usually lasted 30 minutes. I would hear that voice in me start to say, "You've ran over half way that's good enough today". "Or doctor says you only need 20 minutes of cardio you are good".

When I started working full time from home it was a similar challenge. I would be in my spare bedroom working and my "self" would say man you need to spend time with your kids. It was something I wrestled with like dang what kind of mom or dad would want to ignore their kids? Then that Hope of what was possible kept me on track. Then I started to think well if I don't work 25-30 hours at home without my kids getting involved with my work I will work 50-60 hours somewhere else for someone else and that will not be any good either.

Our 'self" or flesh is very good at choosing the path of least resistance it is only Hope that will allow us to Endure develop to create a skill set to make our Joy a reality.

Someone dieting or working out only stops when their Hope for what is possible for them becomes smaller than their desire to eat or stay home from the gym.

As I promised in the last post, I'm sharing with you specific training that I guide someone just a couple of weeks in their business to. The very first thing you need to have them do is go register for a free membership at www.danijohnson.com

Then take them to the call that I recommended last week. After that your new person who has been following a systematized process it's important that we keep teaching them they why of the how. The how is what we do and then once they are doing it and guiding people through your marketing process teach them the why.

For this I use a call that explains presentations and it's also a call that DFI modeled with one on one coaching with Dani Johnson. It talks about what a successful presentation is and Dani explains something that a new person would not quite understand. OK here's a little secret! Dani Johnson's website has hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars worth of training for free. If you are not using it for your self and for those you are developing you are STUPID.

See how I say things politely :)

Bottom line is this, we are not God and we as individuals can not be all things to all people. Personally I plug into Dani Johnson and her training to keep sharpening my skills and stay on my "A" game. We've all had those times were we didn't feel like working, the only issue is success doesn't wait. Dani Johnson and her training helps me succeed.

Below is another Secret I use. Dani Johnson and her training is great to help you train a new associate. Now you can't just throw them out there randomly and so go listen to something. You need to guide them to what they are listening to.

In the next few days I'll be showing you how I use this training on my team. To get all the installments make sure you put your email in the BOX on the right margin of this blog and they will be emailed to you.

After new associate starts I usually guide them through our training with DFI which as most of you know is extremely specific and to the point on exactly what we do and how we make money. Then after a couple of days on the phone we will have a conversation and I just ask would you like your initial contact to be better? Dani Johnson on her website does specific training on building a successful business and step 1 is an initial contact.

Then I'll guide them to the Dani Johnson website.

In a Democratic nation we have many choices. The sum of our choices will determine the level of success we will reach. You will hear people say, “One day I am going to have a bigger home” or “I will make more money” or “I will drive a better car.” The question you have to ask yourself if you have said these things is, “Do I really mean it?” If you do, do you have a plan? Will your current plan get you the things that you have said you wanted? If you answered no, to one of the last three questions, then you are only dreaming. You are wishing with no real desire and will likely have no more than you currently have in life. You see we have to make a conscious decision to succeed in life or to just have something more. If you are unhappy with your life then look in the mirror because in all likelihood you have no one else to blame but yourself. Sure, there are circumstances OUT of our control; but how we deal with and overcome those circumstances IS within our control!

We can choose what to wear. We can choose the hairstyle or haircut we want. We choose who our friends are. We choose what jobs to apply for. We decide whether or not to show up at work on time. Does it not stand to reason, that if we have so many choices in life? We can make choices that will allow us to be successful? If you wanted to start a business and didn’t have the money, you can choose to save, beg, borrow, and scrap the money until you have enough to get started. The great thing about Coastal as we know is it didn’t take that much to get started. Let’s face it; if one’s life depended on it 90% of the people in a Democratic nation could come up with at least $5000 within 72 hours. So the real question is how bad do you want it? If you choose to just work your nine to five J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) and choose not to get anymore out of life. Please do me this one favor, don’t be envious or hateful as I become more and more successful just because you have chosen not to.

It amazes me at the number of people who are unhappy in life and are quick to ridicule those that seem to have more; but yet they refuse to make choices that would allow them to get more out of life. If you have chosen to join this amazing business of ours, then congratulations! You are making a choice to get more out of life and to succeed in some way. However, if you are in Coastal and you are making $50,000 to $60,000 a year but continue to say you want to make $100,000. Ask yourself, “Am I making the choice to do that or am I just wishing it?” It is ok to wish and to fantasize about things just make sure that you are honest with yourself and you recognize the difference between wishing and choosing.

If you are just starting with Coastal make a CHOICE right away to be successful. If your business is not doing as well as you would like, that’s great! You can choose to change that! Make a CHOICE to grow your business to where you want it. If you want to make $50,000 in this business then CHOOSE that. If you want to make $100,000 then CHOOSE that. If you want to make $1,000,000 then CHOOSE that. Just remember success is a choice!

Do you believe in reaping and sowing? How about karma? You know good karma and bad karma, bad karma hangs over us like a dark cloud. Until you build up some of that good stuff that bad karma just chases you. You keep having those days you can't do nothing right.

OK maybe karma's not your thing and you don't really grasp reaping and sowing, how about "what goes around comes around". You 've heard that before I'm sure.

What if it was possible to have good people just randomly do good things for you. Some of us :) would call it a blessing. Do you know one of the best ways to be blessed? Do something simply out of the kindness of your heart for someone else and bless them. That's an example of sowing good things, and if we sow good things then we must reap good things.

LISTEN UP! It doesn't have to be a big thing either, just selfless.

Here's a selfless opportunity for you. Below is a letter I got from a very success business woman Angela Lasher who I've partnered with over the years. She's had such an incredible impact on so many people's lives. She's smart, intelligent and just knows how to get things done and benefit others at the same time.
