Indivisible One

Joshua sings the song of Oneness with JOY and compassion.  Joshua is the source of a philosophy called The Seventh Major Understanding. To clarify, there truly is only one understanding that illuminates the integrity of our whole being and our human experience of reality. Joshua, a non-corporeal being, divided this single understanding into segments to simplify the sharing of the concepts. He reminds me that even the example of dividing the one understanding into separate portions is a reflection of the One Source manifesting in multiple shapes, species, modes, etc. The One that is All That Is cannot be divided. All separation is a beautiful display of the infinite expression and creativity of the One.

While learning The Seventh Major Understanding, Joshua reminded me to hold fast to the knowledge that each segment called a Major Understanding does not stand alone. All the understandings are truly inseparable and unfinished. Joshua selected the number seven to teach the One Understanding because the number seven carries the vibration of seeking answers through introspection. Seven brings about the energy of questioning our assumptions. Seven is the number of inspiration, and it is intuitive and mystical.

If you find yourself on the path of seeking answers from within, and you are ready to question beliefs you assumed on your path, I believe you will find Joshua’s book beneficial. As Joshua often says at the end of his comments to groups, “Let the light grow. Let love show. Let it be fun.” I love you.

To illustrate perfect flaws, Joshua urged me to enter the following ancient Chinese story in the book: An elderly Chinese woman had two large water pots; each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
            For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
            After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”
            The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.
            “For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.” 

Joshua reminds us that we are loved as we are—with our perfectly designed flaws. He urges us to accept that it is our flaws that result in creating beauty, not perfection like so many seek, but natural beauty. Let nature be the mirror. Furthermore, Joshua wants us to remember this story when you judge the perfect flaws of others or when you feel ashamed of your own perfect flaws. I have grown to accept that our nature to judge ourselves is one of our perfect flaws, and this characteristic of human nature serves a perfect function.

Acceptance of our innate perfect flaws results in a release of stress. We experience freedom as we release unrealistic expectations of perfection. We feel more lighthearted when we let go of idealistic notions. For example, I stop expecting perfection from my body, my relationships, my job, my boss, my government, and so on. Expecting perfection always results in disappointment, and feeling disappointed is a form of needless suffering.

I advocate and hold the intention of doing my best. However, I accept that my best effort may fluctuate as I pass through peaks and valleys on my journey. An intention to do my best is an easy shift away from expecting perfection. Doing my best is truly all I can do, so expecting myself to do better than my best is unrealistic and stress inducing. Doing my best includes the intention to learn from my mistakes, and in this intention, I fully accept and own the mistakes I make. Intending to do better next time is not equal to expecting perfection next time. I’m sure you get my point.

As I see it, living a wabi-sabi life brings peace of mind and heart. Accepting perfect flaws in All That Is allows us to appreciate simplicity and enjoy beauty in our imperfection. Hearing the joy and love in the ancient Chinese story shared here, if you call me a crackpot I will laugh.   

In the practice of letting my journey be more fun and lighthearted, Joshua urged me to release the notion that I am a light worker. Rather, he advised me to adopt the belief that I am a light player. Emerson said, “This world we live in is but thickened light.” Joshua invites me to play within the thickened light like a child on the playground rather than a worker in the field. Joshua values service, artistry, and expertise, and he encourages everyone to play joyfully in the thickened light. For some of us, like me, the concepts of work and play don’t easily align. I admire people for whom work IS play. Jolly good! For me, and others like me, it is a welcome reminder to play in the light and to work less.

In a recent interview about transcending limiting beliefs, Joshua moved me to release the concept of developing tools for a toolbox. Instead of talking about tools for us to work with, Joshua playfully inspired me to refer to beneficial tools as toys. I could hear him laughing as he compelled me to exchange my tools for toys. The suggested concepts didn’t change, yet my attitude and desire to apply the concepts shifted. Oh yes, I love to play while I’m not as eager to work. Transforming tools into toys and digging into my toy box to discover how many fun games I can play sounds inviting to me. I’d much rather play than work. (Did you hear me giggle when you read that?) 

Beloved teachers, healers, and leaders of change, I hear many of us speak of this life as the classroom. Surely we learn much during the adventure of a lifetime. I learn the most from the teachers who bring fun into the lessons.  I invite you onto the playground with me. I’m here exploring the toys in my toy box, and I’ll gladly share my toys with you. I am also curious about the toys you have, and I hope you will share them with me. Let’s play and laugh as we take our toys into the classroom. Let it be fun.

Infinite Love

Together we plant the seeds of a new harvest. Now we ascend to the uncommon. Now we awaken our extraordinary capacity to love each other. This love has always been here, and now we awaken our courage to let it show.  – Joshua

 The Seventh Major Understanding reminds us that All That Is exists in a state of perfection as it is; yet we hold an innate desire to change the reality of our society. Our desire for change brings us to a point in time when we playfully and joyfully manifest a global reality of peace, love, abundance, and understanding.

This new reality is desired by us, and this production is a worthy challenge to our collective creativity. Now is the time of a global reality based on love and trust. Now we transcend a global reality based on fear. The mass consciousness is shifting in order for a love-based reality to emerge. The transformation is happening now. Seek it and you find it. Look, here it is. Now.

The unfolding of our new way of living together is supported by our acceptance of diversity. Our fear of different cultures, governments, religions, ideologies, life styles and more, seeds our mistrust of one another. Rather than embracing the benefits of diversity, it is common for people to trust the people who are like us. Then, we are cautious, or even fearful, of people who are not like us. This is the “us vs. them” model of human nature. Fear, masked in many disguises, is common in the collective human psyche. Now we ascend to the uncommon. Now we awaken to the extraordinary capacity to fearlessly love each other. This love has always been here, and now we awaken our courage to let it show.   

Clearly unconditional love held in the mass consciousness would alter our global reality. Can you imagine a global society that is not afraid of diversity? How would the world change when we don’t fear differences? How amazing will life become when any person or group stops all effort to control another person or group? Do we have blind spots to the fear of others that we hold? If you or I look out upon society and call any group, “them” – listen carefully to these thoughts. Be aware of any thoughts that “they” are wrong and “we” are right. Affirm this: I release all fear that any other person or group controls my reality. Water the seeds that say, “They are different, and we can live together peacefully.”

As you change, the world changes. That is how it is. I love you.

With Loving Care

Beloved teachers, healers, and change leaders, in this brief blog I lovingly offer this clear reminder to all people dedicated to service. Dr. Maxwell is an internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker, and bestselling author, and this quote, attributed to him, needs no explanation. Please ponder how to demonstrate the depth of your caring in the gift of your service.

Sometimes I’m asked to summarize the key points of the Seventh Major Understanding. One way I can do that is to share the creed statement Joshua inspired me to write when, at his behest, I formed a non-profit organization called the Eternal Light Society. The organization is idle now, yet the creed statement (required to file for our 501c3 classification) contains many of the key components explored more deeply in The Seventh Major Understanding – A Message of Awakening.

 The philosophy of the Seventh Major Understanding includes ideas that go beyond the teachings of Eastern religious doctrine. Joshua urges us to transcend limiting ideas around the role of ego and mind in our human-spiritual experience of a lifetime. Please understand that this creed is intended to be an introduction to Joshua’s philosophy and not the whole picture.

Eternal Light Society Creed

The Source Itself sent out from Itself portions of Itself to explore and experience more of Itself.

Be it known that this creed is endorsed by the Eternal Light Society. These statements reflect our core beliefs.

We believe that the Source of All That Is exists in equal measure in all things. The Source is present in all dimensions, forms, and non-forms eternally. The power of the Source is equal in all manifestations—even thought energy and other vibrations that seem to exist without form. Human perception, belief, or judgment cannot diminish this fact. The Source is ubiquitous.

We proclaim that the Source of All That Is exists as a creative force within all manifestations including vibrations that have form beyond human perception. Thus, as you believe you are—so you are. Each person creates an experience of reality that is uniquely his or her own. The power to create your own reality is intrinsic and cannot be taken away from anyone or anything.

We assert that life is eternal. Time and space like death and decay are illusions that exist within our framework of reality. This framework is created by our mass consciousness and it serves us well during our journey of a lifetime. Change is inevitable. Therefore, our individual and mass understanding of the nature of human existence grows. Our growth is determined by our moment to moment thoughts and choices made in the exercise of our free will. Since time is an illusion, we understand that we have eternity to experience and explore All That Is.

We decree that all is one. Separation from one another and the Source Itself is an illusion. Manifestations exist as objective portions of the one Source, and creation is not separated from the creator. Each manifestation, even those vibrations that have form beyond our perception, contains the creative energy and life force of the one.

We believe that mother Earth gives generously of herself by sustaining and nurturing flora and fauna. Thus, humanity plays a role of stewardship on this planet. The plant and animal kingdom is not ours to rule: rather, it is our responsibility to nurture life forms. We remember that the Earth herself has a soul. Mother Earth gives freely of herself, and we honor her soul with love and attentiveness.

We maintain All That Is exists in a state of exploration and experience, which is perfect as it is. All That Is exists in a state of perfection now. The state of perfection is rarely obvious to human beings during our journey of a lifetime because of the imperfections we manifest in our reality. This paradox is occurring perfectly as intended by the Source of All That Is. As a species, we may find peace in the knowledge that all experience is an expansion of All That Is. Our knowledge of the state of perfection does not nullify or interfere with our longing to be more than we are now. Therefore, change we must.

You Are

“Is Joshua an angel?” a beloved friend asked.  

I replied; there are many personal definitions about angels. I don’t want to tread upon individual beliefs about angels, so I offer my reply to your question based on my understanding and beliefs. Please remember that Joshua always wants us to search within for our own spiritual knowledge.

When Joshua is asked this question, he laughs! Here is what he teaches on this subject. We are multidimensional beings. In our connection to All That Is, I may say, “Angel, I am that, too” and this is a valid statement for me and for Joshua. Yet, in this moment of NOW I am focused within my human experience of reality. Nonetheless I cannot detach from the One that is experiencing reality as an angel. The notion of separation is totally accepted so that I may enjoy the journey of a lifetime. Joshua is able to experience his focus in physical dimensions (creating and experiencing many lifetimes now) and in multiple non-physical dimensions with ease. Joshua’s identity includes a broad experience of the One consciousness that dwells in All That Is. 

Is Joshua an angel? Yes and no. He has a face and energy vibration that is different and in that vibration he is an angel. In this other vibration he carries a different name because the vibration (sound and light) called Joshua isn’t compatible with his expression as an angel. When “Joshua” appears as an angel, he is called Emmanuel. It is Emmanuel’s intention to calm and comfort whenever called upon. Emmanuel’s vibration projects a light that is white-gold; the sound of Emmanuel’s vibration is ahhh, and the feeling is peaceful, warm, and filled with love beyond description.

I call Emmanuel another face of Joshua, yet that description is not entirely accurate. I’ve also experienced Jeshua as another face of Joshua, and that description is also potentially misleading. Further, I assert that my “Jordan-ness” flows from Joshua, and my soul is like a small bucket filled from the ocean of Joshua’s whole being. These descriptions help me understand that there is only One being here playing many roles. I recognize that Joshua flows from the Source of All That Is, and that Source dwells in all of creation in equal measure. Every path leads to Oneness without exception.

Is Joshua an angel? Yes, and so are you. I know this can be confusing, but you asked the question and I replied to it based on my understanding of multidimensional being and Oneness. Very directly, Joshua focuses his attention on being a teacher. I’ve had in depth conversations with him about multidimensional existence and many other subjects over the last three decades. I hope my reply to your question is helpful or at the very least thought-provoking. Feel free to ask follow-up questions if you want, and always remember that the answers to all questions are within you.

Warm Heart

As children many of us were taught a simple and wise way of living. This simple guidance was taught to me as “The Golden Rule.”  This rule states that we need to treat others the way we want to be treated. It is also stated as, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This rule works very well. When we treat others with loving kindness, loving kindness comes home to us. When we treat others with respect and courtesy, we receive respect and consideration in return.  

Living by the golden rule is easy. We each know how we wish to be treated, and to receive this type of treatment all we must do is treat others this way. Unfortunately for some of us the golden rule breaks down in daily application. It is too easy to judge how others are treating us without taking one moment to consider when and in what way we too have missed the mark. No one is perfect, and we don’t want to hold ourselves or others to impossible expectations.

Joshua taught me that I must be diligent in the development of self-awareness. He gently and consistently reminds me that my entire experience of reality is a perfect reflection of all my thoughts, feelings, beliefs and expectations. Joshua teaches that what I believe is happening “out there” is truly occurring “in here”. With this understanding in mind, it is evident that I need to treat myself the way I want others to treat me. Have I been rude to myself? Do I put myself down, or call myself names? Do I think I’m undeserving? Do I punish myself repeatedly for my mistakes? Am I a harsh judge? The way I treat myself is the way I treat others. Then, the perfectly functioning mirror of my reality shows this behavior to me through others.

When you choose to feel good you are not dependent on other people acting in certain ways to make you feel good. Before you can attract people who will support, appreciate, and acknowledge you, you must choose to do that for yourself.” –Orin

I want to support, appreciate, and acknowledge you as you practice the golden rule inside-out. We remember that what we fill ourselves with always spreads outward. Be loving and kind to yourself, and we see the light grow and love show all around us. I love you.  

Cooperation

A reader of The Seventh Major Understanding asked questions about statements in the book regarding the cooperation of religions in the dawning age. I want to share his questions and our (Jordan and Joshua) comments in this blog.  

The reader asked: In your book you talk about religions being able to work together and cooperate for the benefit of all. Is this possible with religions (particular western ideology)? Much of the foundational values seem fearful (fear of hell, fear of death, fear of God, fear of sin) and it doesn’t seem like they could make enough compromise for the greater good. Will we have to lose these systems? Or do you think they will drastically change?

I envision a significant transformation away from all fear-based ideology. That includes the fear-based doctrine of religions. When the mass consciousness is awakened to oneness, the fear of a deity vanishes. When we understand our eternal nature, why fear death? When we know there is only one being present in All That Is, we quickly grasp that there is no such thing as a God that has the power to judge our mortal soul based on the events of a lifetime. The soul is not mortal. While it appears that a lifetime comes to an end, the consciousness animating a human is no more mortal than the consciousness present as a deity. Oneness and the understanding of our eternal being render the fear of God or hell meaningless. The power to create is present in our consciousness now, just as it is present with a deity. When we remember there is only one being here playing many roles and enjoying countless forms, we remember that truly there is nothing to fear.

The challenge most evident within western religious groups is that they believe they know what is best for everyone. They want to convert everyone to Christianity or Islam, and they want to control all morals and values. For example, Christians conducted the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition in an attempt to convert non-believes and the followers of other faiths. Missionaries continue the effort to convert others because they fear for our “mortal souls”. Most missionaries sincerely believe this effort to convert others is ordained by God, and they believe they are spreading love—not fear. However, looking deeply we find the fear of accepting that other beliefs and ideologies are equally valid. They fear religious diversity because they imagine that diversity is a threat to their religious beliefs. As long as this fear is practiced—it is so. They don’t understand (yet) that no one can create the reality of another individual or group. The fear feelings and tactics involved in urging others to convert to any religion fades away when we accept our freedom to create our personal, local and global reality.  We don’t have the power to make others change. Simply put, my beliefs are not a threat to others. Nonetheless, my beliefs call for change in a passive practice of releasing fear, and that practice is always internal—never external.

The fear spread by religion vanishes when our love for one another is present. In the light of love, we easily accept that all beliefs are equally valid, and we each have the freedom to listen to our own counsel. Recognizing that religion’s intentions are uplifting, and that all humans share the same wants, needs, and desires, the religions of the world may peacefully collaborate. Religions exist to remind us of our spiritual nature. Religions bring the spiritually hungry together and inspire us to love and serve one another. Cooperating toward these intentions allow us to be gentle with each other when facing diverse doctrine. We can stand together peacefully with diversity while we reach for common goals.

Our fear-based reality is transitioning into a time of peace, compassion, abundance, and understanding. This transformation is based on our love for one another and our awakening to oneness. Awakening is always internal, and it happens with perfect timing. Let it be.
