Their service is pathetic. Actually the shop has a decent variety and staffs generally don't force us to buy. But for sure support is very bad.

We sat for some 5 -10 minutes on the the Wipro mesh chair. We were also informed that this chair is great and moves pretty fast and very well customizable. I did a search on the internet but unfortunately we did not have any reviews for the Wipro Mesh chair or Global Office Solutions store.

We finalized to buying the chair since we also felt "OK" with our initial impression. We made the payment etc. but we were said there were no proper staff to fit the chair today, and asked us to fit ourselves. Since I was not ready and they could not send someone to fit this at house the same day, they made a boy fit this for us as two parts - the wheel-axle and the upper part. We fortunately noticed that he missed some of the parts in the package itself when we were just about to take the product and go home. Then we made the boy to refit the whole thing.

Also they said they will visit us at our house adjust the chair for the best comfort. But its been 4 weeks and I call them almost once in two days to remind that this work is pending. Every time we hear the same answer, "we are coming today at 6 sir, when are you available sir and etc". But they have not come till date. And when I called the owner listed in this phone, he just says no adjustment can be made in this chair, which is quite contradicting what we were said in the store during our purchase. Moreover, one fine day when I called the rude staff said, we can't come all the way to your house just to adjust one chair. In-fact we lugged the chair in our own car.

About the Wipro Mesh chair - please consider the below before you buy this chair. IMHO we did not find this chair comfortable.

Reasons:

The back support is really poor, 5-10 mins of time that we sat for was not enough to find this poor design. After 30 mins of usage, you will feel stiff back (for there is a gap between the spine and the chair).

The lowest height is more - that its not comfortable for a person of average height. If you push to the lowest height, the shock absorber action is gone and you will feel like sitting on a hard surface.

Low shoulder support, if you are little above average this is going to be an issue.

The backrest lock is only at the straight position and feels very uncomfortable. Due to the mesh there is no proper hard support.

The mesh is pricky, generally when we work at home we just wear a T-shirt, but this is going to be irritating and now a days I wear full clothing to avoid the pricking sensation on my back.

#709 5th A Cross Hrbr Outer Ring Road

Update: 1
I have been contacted by Global Office Solutions and Wipro team on the issue (got about 8-10 calls). They had been asking where is the adjustment, so here I have uploaded an image and rounded the screws where the adjustments can be made. And Wipro team persona said he is going to send someone asap (Morning 01_Dec_2010)

Chef Bakers - Marathalli Review

I keep ordering birthday cakes for my team. I give orders of about Rs.1000 every month apart from buying cakes and breads for my family. The taste is good. But everybody knows it takes a big leap from Good to Great. But am pretty confident that these guys will only go from Good to Poor because of the way they treat customers.
I usually get the cake delivered to my office which is close to their shop in Marathahalli. But when I went today to the shop to order a pastry, they said delivery charges Rs.20 extra. I was surprised to know that. I asked from when. "Its been this way from the shops inception" came the reply.

I said "Come on man, I got the cake delivered to my office and am I lying you".
"Then what we are lying you-aaa?" phat came the reply. That really made me pale.

Then there was a new flavor called Succes (these guys did not know the spelling of Success, hmmm!!!) and Lavata. The cost per kg is Rs.600 and this pastry is on minimum order of 1 kg. Could not get the samples too.

The shop is pretty small, the price of the products are equal to Daily Bread. I really like the taste, but will avoid going to this place because of its poor customer service and indecent uneducated uncultured people as their staffs. When there is some other shop of even lesser quality but better customer experience, I will prefer the latter.
The way these guys treat customers is very poor.

Chilli Pepper, Maratha Halli, Bangalore - Review

We went to this hotel after reading the reviews in justdial.com. Most of the rating was 4 and 5 stars. Little surprise. I am not a Bihari so could not comment on the native Bihari dishes and the taste. Might be it was worth for 4 and 5 stars.

But mostly my menu was Chinese. My personal feeling is its more towards good ie., 3 star rating.

We ordered:

2 Sweet corn chicken soup Rs.65 per serving

1 Veg fried rice - ~Rs. 120 per serving

1 egg fried rice - ~Rs. 120 per serving

1 Boneless dolebach chicken (I may be wrong with the name, but it starts with 'D' and its a Bihari dish) Rs. 205 per serving

The portion was really enough for 3 adults.

Veg fried rice was more blunt, egg fried rice better, the gravy good enough, soup was really good.

The total bill was ~Rs. 650.

The ambiance is pretty bad, looks very dull, AC did not work and made us little suffocate. Personally feel its little over priced.

I could give,

3 stars for the food
2 stars for ambience
2 starts for service

Buying 3BHK flat in Bangalore

PAINFUL!

These are just reflections of my feelings when I went out to buy a flat in Bangalore. Not to hurt anybody's feelings.

I wonder how the flats are getting sold faster than Hot Bajjis.
AS far as my observation, the flat costs between Rs.2500 to Rs.5000 per sq.ft in Marathalli, Whitefield and Ring Road area. (Not any city side).

For a family of 4 members, and we need a study room, we have to opt for a 3BHK, of which the third bedroom is not even bigger than a store house. That's even not good to call a Study room, so conjested even for a primary school student.

The total area claimed is including the common area, the part that is irritating is there are several tricks in alloting and claiming the area, since the same common area is claimed for more than one person. There is no proper control or measure to check this.

You end up paying for 75% of your house and 25% of the common area. (a decent ratio). But in some flats the ratio goes worst.

The sq.ft cost is exclusive of the below:
1. Car parking - Rs. 150000 /- (approximately) for the second car its even higher sometimes double the price. (I dont worry for now but atleast I hope to have a car sometime in future and have to get one car park atleast)
2. BESCOM charges
3. Registration charges
4. Water board charges
5. Sewage charges

The above roughly comes up to Rs. 3 lakhs onwards for a 1200 sq.ft.

Above all you need to pay a maintainence cost of Rs.2 per sq.ft. ie., Rs. 2400 for 1200 sq.ft every month. That accounts to 28800 per year.

How painful!!!

But above all here is the worst part. When you go to buy the flat you like these guys say its almost sold. (The ones which have a good vastu, more brighter living room etc.) Wonder at these cost how people are buying it!!

Few of the supervisors say the truth.

"To be honest most of the bookings are happening online, some for which people dont even visit. People in Bangalore just keep visiting the site thinking of whether to buy or not, but mostly do not buy. Our customers are mostly overseas, US, UK, Arab countries"

What a pain!! The Indians who go abroad take up the job of the native guys and also increase the land value here so "common man" who works for his motherland can not even afford a 2 or 3 Bedroom apartment.

Politicians are least bothered about common man because the Reddy's who dominate the realestate in Bangalore as well as other cities in India keep them (politicians) 'happy'. Its more or less like land mafia, buy or go.

Some people like in TamilNadu vote hearing that they get TV. But ultimately its the middle class who suffers.
US and other countries shou

Most of the land is bought by the realtors by throwing money or by power. We all know this. But we can not do anything. The blood boils on undergoing these experiences of a common man. Yet I can not do anything just as most of you guys.

I am even irritated by the acts of our own brothers and sisters who work in foreign land, but do not invest where they work but invest in India making the realtors rich and the common man poorer.

Frankly, these people are neither good for the country they work (since they have taken their jobs) nor good for fellow Indians (since they have raised the price of land and made the realtors more bossy).

One final say, US, UK and other countries please send the Indians back, they are neither good for you nor for us.

Sejal Automobiles - Bangalore Review

I left my car for water wash and basic servicing @ Sejal Automobiles. Unfortunately there were not much reviews of bean bags. Obsessed by the website of can bean bags (http://canbeanbags.com/) I was having a biased opinion on Can bean bags. Other bean bag products did not have website or the websites did not work. In many cases the phone numbers were old or incorrect.

I got this product for Rs.2200/-. In just two months the beans got compressed and is now half the size of what it was when I purchased. I am not satisfied with this product. And definitely will not recommend this to any one.

I went directly to the company's godown (a weary lane from old airport road) and purchased it. I think I can use this for another 1 or 2 months and its going to be a throw off.

Bangalore Office:
1553, 1st Cross, 10th Main
HAL Stage 3
Bangalore - 560008

I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING CAN BEAN BAGS. I know its a commercial movie. But a beautiful story showing father son relationship "will will will" be lot more. Almost every father does that kind of care, almost every son also falls in love and fails, goes to drink, smoke and late night wandering. I have done that. But my memories with my father if I want to mention are more. I know for sure, since my father passed recently and what all memories came to me and in what sequence. That good sequence is missing in the movie.
Why did the first love is killed, it was shown beautifully!!! I could not accept it. Gautam is excellent we all know showing love scenes.
Surya's dad says in the first, when he is born, that my son should be lucky, because he is my son. Gautam would have better said, how the to be lost love was got with by his father's , love and blessings. Would not that be great!! By killing S.Reddy and second love with Divya, it just shows yet another movie. A lot of things had been shown, too much confusing and condensing. First love, second love, love failure, drugs, wandering. Gautam did not show how his father helped his son to get back from drugs. Am not sure if the theatre where i saw delibrately cut the scene. I am sure it should not be. Cos Gautam in an interview said, he had taken responsibility and had sent the editing teams to precisely cut where they wanted to.

When I was around 12 years, I have watched a movie by name "Veedu", a documentary movie to say straight forward. The same movie could be taken commercially also, but somehow that movie was the one it is. At 12 years of age, I hated that movie like anything. I would do anything from my father and mom watching the movie. Such a boring thing you know. But after 18 years, the movie still lingers in me. Its all experiences, in that movie, real real life experience. This movie for sure is not going to give the feel of the father-son relation in another year. If Gautam's intention was to show his love to his father, I would have suggested leave commercial things, if you wanted to see this movie stand the test of time, go create the best avoiding the unnecessary parts.

Editing sucks!! I could see lot of disconnect. The screenplay not great, especially, I wonder why Surya joined the army, 6 pack etc. Idhu edhuvume illama azhaga solli irukalam. All commercial.
One thing about music, is scintillating. Haris has done his best for the movie. All the songs are ultimate except the "Anjala" song. Needless to be in this movie. I know this is commercial. But i fail to understand how a single such song adds worthy money to the box office.
The song, "Nenjukul peidhidum ma mazhai.." awesome, Haris its lovely dude. I thought no one can do Illayaraja music again, but this song proved. Haris thanks for the great music. The guitar is not used much by all. But most of the songs in this movie, used beautiful Guitar sounds. Appreciate it. Every day minute it lingers in my mind.
And many know this movie is the last with Gautam-Haris combination. I really feel bad. I guess one reason where they would have got issues. Gautam wanted lot of Illayaraja and the Micheal Jackson effect in the "Machi machi .." song. I guess there.
One beautiful thing, I would say (if right) Gautam has showed where he is giving the music is A.R.Rehman. Did you notice the train scene, where Surya and S.Reddy meet first time? Did you note Surya after playing his guitar, where he put the tickle? He carefully had put into the small pocket of his jeans, which spelled "Maestro". I dont think that's coincidence. Thats absolute beautiful direction, for Gautam had said his thoughts.
Surya's acting is good. His effors well appreciated.
In short: Gautam did not show the love between dad and son as much as he showed the love between Surya and Sameera Reddy. Lot of things would be avoided to be a clean movie. Songs too good. Worth watching once, unlike Minnale, I watched around 3 times in theatre.

Crude Oil at $50 a barrel now!

Come on Indians, crude oil has gone to $50 a barrel and you want to sell petrol at the same high price?

And moreover not even selling the normal petrol. Now a days i do, to handle recession ;-) kidding!

I use trains to travel between Bangalore and Chennai on normal class (reserved or unreserved). And these are the days of music edition mobiles, which people buy and flaunt by showing how powerful their mobile is sounding. The way they increase the sound appears that it shows their masculinity. Rather irritating it is!!

I don't enjoy 10 people sounding with their favorite songs. It is just a noise. Horrible, you will not believe. One playing "Manmadha raasa ... " and another "Mungaru male ...". Clash of the titans ? Huf...

There should be law to prevent these noise at public places like train and buses too. It really changes the mood and you really cant fight with these nasty bugs also being a Thayir sadham (Curd rice eater) and skinny guy. Something should be done my dear. And in between the beggars and vendors who keep crossing and making noise. Vendors selling can be accepted since its their job which feeds them. But not this begging... you know actually these beggars are earning more than most middle class 'janatha'. Do a survey you will find how much. I read in places like Bangalore's MG road, a beggar earns close to 10000 per day. Unbelievable? Believe it! No tax, nothing. Causing lot of inconvenience to public, sanitary issues and theft.

When people like Kalam are no where in a country like India, where will I fit in !!!

Rich can buy more than one car, but Nano should be stopped ?!

This post should have been typed 2 months ago... but rather could not find the time to blog.

I read in papers and viewed news in TV about protests to stop Tata's Nano project. Few of the people argued that the already crowded roads in Bangalore/Chennai and other metros will become more crowded and worse. I agree on that. But ... wait on ...

The same day I read in a newspaper, the automobile section of it, a rich (why you will know 1) person has asked which of the cars he should buy. His question more or less was...

"I need to buy 3 cars, one for my daughter and other two for me. Would prefer to buy two cars with a budget of 15-18 lacs. I would use one for commuting to office and the other on vacations and weekends, where I would be travelling a long distance. Advice me for the options to choose".

The answer was to buy Maruti 800 for his daughter. Buy a Hyundai i10 Petrol for him for office and a Chevy Optra Diesel for long drives.

(1 I assume only rich people can go for such a budget and 3 cars and relatively the fuel for 3 cars too) When rich can go for such a comfort and enjoy plesure why should you rather stop the project which is going to help poor people own cars and go atleast have a way to travel with family if not luxury. Definitely, drive on Nano will be equal to driving a Piaggio Ape.

When a family can buy 3 cars and crowd the roads why should you and me not buy a Nano?

A day to office

I should agree most of them who drive in Bangalore ... "if you reach home that day, it means you have been blessed".

Yea ... everyday mostly the same kind of chaos and inorder while commuting. And getting really pissed off by the careless drivers.

I start at 9 to office, usually the problem starts close to my home itself ... careless people walking on the roads spit to their right (why the hell they don't do it to their left when they walk on the left side of the road!!). Oh someone spits on my foot (i wear slipper), what to say about these idiots, I have to get back home and wash my foot and get back to office, this time bit more tensed and careful.

It once happened, in Chennai a lady spit her chewed up pan on me and my father from the metropolitan bus, while we were on the bike and the worst part is, the lady fisherman community said "what bothers shut and go!" very cheap people. It had happened to me in Bangalore too, but a different version. I wish people stop fighting that they are Kannadigas and Tamilians rather than educating ourselves to be human. Cheap people are there in Bangalore and in Chennai as much as there are Good people.

Then I ply to the "main" road to my office, fortunately we cant drive fast, we dont even know where the pot holes are, new ones made every now and then...

Oooof ... an autowala drives on the wrong side of the road, to avoid extra trip he has to make to take a right turn at the median.

The lorries and cars parked on both sides of the road, usually the cement lorries that are parked on by the side of the road, which occupies around 50% of the road. Luckily, the chaos theory will work perfect, and we can find an auto, bike, tracktor or anything coming on the wrong side trying to move to the other 50% of the road to avoid collision with the vehicle parked on the road.

Oh, oh, oh ... my God luckily escaped this time and it was a turning and i could not even see this vehicle coming...

Sometimes more fortunate i am, the same situation as above, a call centre Sumo or Tavera would speed up and tring to overtake me ... what do I do now? Should I brake or move right or move left! There is a pot hole too ... the cement lorry which just went before has left lot of cement dust and has raised the dirt from the road...

Oh lucky that I escaped today also and reached to office. Thank God! But not always and not for all. Every day I could see atleast 1-2 accidents, 20% of it is fatal. And also I have to go through the same process way back home.

Remember Indian movie, where the sick unable to stand driver manages to get license renewed by bribing the RTO... and Kamal saying, "If you got the license how many of them need to be put rice to their mouth" (typical Desi style)

Will this situation change our India is the big '?'

Please feel free to share your views and experiences by commenting ... atleast I would feel that others also have such bad experiences, rather to find if am paranoid.

என்னுடைய முதல் தமிழ் பதிவம் ! தாய் மொழியில் பேசுவதை விட வேறு இன்பம் இருக்க முடியுமா!!!

Books I bought in 2008 for Rs.3000/-

My budget was 3000 and these were the list of books I bought in 2008 mostly techinal and one management book. The simplest modification they do in their Yamahas and Pulsars is remove the mud-flap. This really causes lot of inconvienience to others.
Yesterday I saw a biker hero roaring in his Pulsar in the rain ravaged muddy, marshy roads of Bangalore spilling dirt on the kid who was sitting in the front of his father's bike. When caught in the traffic signal and said he has spalshed dirt on his kid (on eyes and all over the body during going to school) the biker replied, "come in car if you dont want to get these kinds of dirt on you or on your kid". How inhuman the words!
I felt very bad on hearing these words. Today it was he, might be tomorrow for me, but the words will be the same, inhuman.
For me he didnot appear a hero, he looked like a ravaged zero, which prooved me how he was born and brought up! Such people often dont know what is heroic. He appeared only as a rowdy. Just muscle and mass is not heroic. Heroism is not racing fast on public roads, or with mud flaps removed. Heroism is not talking inhuman. Heroism is just opposite to rowdyism.
I still feel very bad about these kinds of bikers. Everyday there is some or the other. Some times these bikers. Othertimes, the rich guys who drive their cars irresponsibly, with jarring sound in their car as though driving a radio station. Also splashing water on others being in the car. Add to it the call taxi drivers who drive very very bad. It looks so odd guys, it does not make others feel good. Will law enforce peace by punishing such bikes and cars drivers?
Would like to add to it, not just these guys, auto drivers are one amongs these who doesnot have mud flaps and speak very disgusting.
Hey Zeros ... Dont forget you too are going to get married and have kids... you too might not have money to buy a car and take your kid in it. What you sow is what you reap! Wait on you will have your bad turns or better correct and be human and show importance to others. Live in cosmos and not chaos.

Kuselan - projected as Rajini's film

Got some time to watch Kuselan ... the remake of the Malayalam film "Katha Parayumbol" which is a classic. The original version has the Malayalam Mega Star as the part of the story, and its an important role for Mamooty. But Kuselan is projected as Rajini's film for commercial purpose, while it is Pasupathi's movie. Superstar's stardom has eclipsed the good story line of the movie. Pasupathi has acted well.

All contoversies revolved around whether the movie will be released in Bangalore in particular where there are lot of Tamils and other Movie Fans from where the most part of money comes in. As a result Rajini apologied for his "General Statement" during Hogenakal issue. And again this "apology" from Rajini for "General Statement" was projected in Karnataka as "Rajini asked sorry for what talked during Hogenakal issue" and finally the clearance was made to release the movie in Karnataka.

Clearly, this shows Rajini has already got into Politics. To say something and later revert back is what politician does. Frankly, what he talked during Hogenakal issue was bit more, and when he wants "money" he has apologized. I would appreciate this apology when he would have said immediately few days after the Hogenakal issue.

Definitely am a fan of Rajini, that does not mean am a fanatic. If you read
this site you will see lot of comments about the movie.

Finally the movie is frankly not worth to watch in INOX ;-) The last 15 minutes made people cry, sentiment! And the last scene is good. Even in the posters we are able to see everyone in B&W except Rajini.

Day care centers around ITPL - Bangalore

I am merely searching for a good day care centre for my daughter who has turned just one year old. Me and my wife are both working and cannot afford to leave the job in this rising inflation. We had not received our good annual hikes too, averaging 4-5% when the inflation has gone upto 7-8% and may go even more. Crossing our fingers, what to do next; Whether we should stay in Bangalore or go and settle down in some village, living a peaceful life with not a posh life. But a lively life around farms and amidst nature. Things have turned completely different after my daughter's entry. Our priorities have changed. Only priority now is our baby. We dont take proper food, adjust a lot, but take sufficient care of our baby.

All else apart, the purpose of this post. There are very few day care center's around ITPL.

1. Apple Kids - Prashant layout, near O-Farm. Fee seems to be nominal, 2000 to 3000. Kids under age 18 months not admitted.
Ph: 99459 88600

2. WeCare - the most expensive, and not for the janta (i cant afford). Fee of 8000 per month. Registration fee of 1000. Annual Fee of 24000. Total it comes to 1,12,000. Of which 12000 is discount. Sucks!!! More than an engineering college fee. Yet, very posh, professional.
Ph:080-32428895

3. Teddies - near to ITPL, the place looks too deserted and the road to it shows the real face of Bangalore. The lady Sindhu has no experience, just had quit her job and trying to make money in day care. Admits even 3 months old baby. The location is not good. Fee Rs.6000-7000.
Ph: 99008 88211

4. Samskrithi - Montessori. Admits kids of 1 year and 9 months only as its a regular play shcool. Fee of 2000. Could not remember the phone number, but just diagonally opposite to Apple Kids(Prashant Layout).

I heard there are few more in Whitefield, yet to explore. Finally we are left with zero option for my daughter.

Applekids - Good+ISO certified+transportation available but only above 1.5 years,
WeCare - Good, Posh, Good Location, very close to ITPL (should be very useful for people working in ITPL and nearby companies) Cons: very expensive
Teddies - inexperienced+bad location+expensive,
Samskriti - only above 1.9 years. Nominal fee.

Please understand that these are only reflective thoughts, you might find the one of it best too. Explore yourself. Your comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks.

My visit to Pondichery

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV-nC2X6RiX6ihC79dEQuJNgrqDPh8ztyW-VdYSew6JT_KBXE2bfJ_9AoJ5FdVebLWs_AM-XYqtTIbbTZ2upFemXooY9Un-dJ2pr-RYJQ2_CST0SAoSat9vIOJ2dn-eFFO4loC/s400/Mother.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5022017495564699618" />

I will say, this place is excellent. The beauty is you dont need to struggle in Pondy as in other places. For instance, keep moving towards East and you will end up in Beach, no one ways, deadends. Most of the roads are straight and beautiful. Especially the area around Aurobindo Ashram is much cleaner that you will find easy to walk bare foot.

Students doing Palming exercise inside the School for Perfect Eyesight
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx5pZVoK_DXJUbxDt1nybN6CFOeL5RaeJTM-o_x_ewHBClsKhFvcgvVy746nrawiTJC1u4EN5sXml2rlv7_aso-TaoFQvFMQTPLN4M8QFoZR5FXQw8EVpCWm4elWwzScDygUln/s400/Eye+Clinic+(1).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5022020656660629506" />
The famous "School for perfect Eyesight is a part of Auribindo ashram. Personally too my Eyesight has comedown from 1.5 to .5 and has become stable over the years I had been practising eye exercises which i learned from here back 6 years. Frankly i no more exercise consitently, but the sight has become constant. I have captured the excerpts from the "Better eyesight without glasses" - Dr.Bates Method which is posted in the Aurobindo Eye School. Please give a read, itwvery helpful and do pass it on to others. You have to take the free progam in this Eye School at least for a week continuously. Many people dont have time to really visit and take eye exercises.
Am giving a very abstract picture of Eye Exercies. Please REMEMBER the exercises can vary according to one's eye problem. Am just giving the exercise which i followed. (I could read books without problem, but had problem otherwise)
1. Keep luggages light weight and as simple as possible. If possible one bag. (read my previous blog entry which features Travelling Light Weight - http://7times7.blogspot.com/2007/01/art-of-traveling-lightweight.html)
2. You can rent a bike, or cycle or car. There are lot of shops on Mission Street near Ashram which rent Bikes for cheap. (Bikes from Rs.100 to Rs.200 per day and Cycles for Rs.15). Am a poor reader, it takes a month or more to complete a single interesting book. There are many books I buy before I even think if I got (read “make” :-) time to read them.

This site is an excellent resource for Speed Reading. http://pianoer.wordpress.com/2006/02/05/speed-reading-techniques/

I understand that the problem I read slow is mainly due to sub-vocalising. (reading in the mind) and difficulty in comprehension (enough is not enough).

I give the whole article from the site as a mind map.

Social Networking for Books - Shelfari

Not a great idea! Social Networking has been an important ingredient of Web2.0, and everyone is cashing on it. Everyone wants to have a finger on the pie.
Shelfari http://www.shelfari.com from Amazon is a Social Networking Site for Books. One good feature is, you can generate code from Shelfari and copy paste into your blog to display the list of your Books.
I had registered mine, hope to place the code onto my blog as I get time.

Online Diary

Want an online diary - Try http://www.my-diary.org. But every time I travel I lug a lot of stuffs into my bag, and finally end up carrying 3 bags. Somehow I feel am lugging only the minimum but never it halted to one bag.
There are a lot of advantages of going up with a single bag.

1. You have the freedom to travel as you wish.
2. If it’s a backpack then both your hands are free, allowing you to do lot of maneuver.
3. Security is much great. You don’t have to toil down not sleeping to keep an eye on all the bags. Just put it below foot or use it as a headrest.

There are many more too.

On my R&D to avoid lugging more baggage, I searched over and found really wonderful sites which are dedicated to travel.

http://travelindependent.info/ is a wonderful site which gives a lot of info like “what to pack http://travelindependent.info/whattopack.htm” , “where to go”, “before you go http://travelindependent.info/b4yougo.htm” and many more tips.

http://www.onebag.com/ speaks on “The Art and Science of Travel light”, is also a wonderful site. The pros of traveling with single bag are manifold as I had said before. A list of things to carry is on this page http://www.onebag.com/list.html. You can download http://www.onebag.com/popups/what2pack.pdf
a pdf file to save it to your PC/MAC/ print out it to check at your convenience.
http://www.onebag.com/popups/what2pack.pdf

Want to know on budget travel
http://www.fabuloustravel.com/tips/tips.html
http://www.fabuloustravel.com/tips/cheapeats.html
http://www.fabuloustravel.com/tips/frugalsiteseeing.html

Sixteen wealths

Am roughly with my bad english transilating "pathinaru selvangal" as "16 wealths" .. in Tamilnadu when any person is blessing, he/she would bless saying "pathinarum petru peru vazvu vazga" . roughly translating to "live a great life with possession of all 16 wealths" !

Abirami Thudhi

I had long time wondered what are those 16 types of wealth. Asked few old people, but what they said was "yellarum solluvanga appadiye nangalum sollaroam" .. "ie., everyone is saying like that so we too do the same..(but dont know what)"
We went on a Temple tour and at Tirunallur, there is a Appar Kovil, where these 16 types are wealth are described as a poem, and reciting it as a Mantra will bless us with those wealth. The poem is sung by Appar, one of the great poets of Tamil and is dedicated for Abirami.
I just snapped it. Its really worth knowing the wealth, since we think money and assets are the only wealth, our ancesstors are very brilliant that they know money is not the only wealth, but its one of the wealth among the 16 types. Perhaps we forgot and forget it !
Just translating it -
1. Education
2. Age
3. Friendship
4. Prosperity
5. Youth
6. Physique
7. Mind
8. Wife
9. Patience / Perseverance
10.Popularity
11.Truthness
12.charitableness
13.Fund
14.Management
15.Life
16.Love

Golden Code for Healthy Living - G.R.Sarwate

Meeting new People every now and then is itself a invigorating experience .. I like meeting people, sharing their experiences. Its something like a reading a biography, even if he/she is not a celebrity, others life has lot to say and lot to learn !
And I got this habit from my father .. He travels through out India - mostly to southern parts of India for his engineering work ..
He was on a trip to Vishakapatnam (Vizag) .. there he met his fellow engineer, who took him to his home and introduced to his family.
Most interesting was his fellow engineer's father G.R.Sarwate, who was around 90 years of age, still walking with out stick, thin and healthy.
My father had a brief chat with Mr.Sarwate .. He said his interesting hobby was reading (as many lone old people) and he has written a book called "Golden Code for Healthy Living", out of his experiences he faced in his health as a child and the awareness to his surroundings. The interesting flip of the book, he said, he has written how to select a child's gender even before birth and prepare for the outcome of healthy (as liked) offsprings.
He thrusted a 15 page booklet into my father's hands and said it has all information about it. He didn't accept any monetary for the book, and he added his mission was to make people aware of their body health, prevent diseases and select and give this world, healthy peaceloving offsprings. At age 90 he has a mission in his life, a goal, something which he thought 'value add' to this world. Such people are great.

Summary of his book-
No summary, please read the book its just 15 pages, already summarized ! :-)

For the convenience of people on the net i ve, scanned the book and uploaded to a public site(box.net). It has no copyrights, no strings, just simple and straightforward. Please use it free. Download here.

And one more thing, when i wanted to upload the files to a publicly accesiable location, box.net was helpful. Its free upto 1GB, has a nice UI, fast (really). I would like to say thanks to the box.net team. THANKS !

Kicking causes most severe injury

Do you know that .. the most powerful weapon is with in you .. yes your legs .. says Kicking causes most severe injury than any sharp instruments ...
