Bret Michaels and Casey James (American Idol) Perform Every Rose Has It's Thorn (Live)

This was without a doubt the best part of the American Idol finale last week. Casey James started singing Poison's Every Rose Has It's Thorn, and Bret joined him onstage in the middle of the song. It's cool has the crowd started standing and screaming when Bret came out on stage to the side before the spotlight hit him. Very cool moment for Bret considering everything he's been through over the last month. Enjoy!

In Honor Of The New Orleans Saints - The Radiators - Suck The Head

I've had the privilege of seeing The Radiators play live in New Orleans a number of times. They are without doubt one of the coolest bands to ever come out of New Orleans. In honor of the Saints winning the Super Bowl last night, here's The Radiators' video for Suck The Head. Suck the Head was a track from their 1987 Law of the Fish album. Enjoy!

AC/DC - Hells Bells Official Music Video

AC/DC released the album, Back in Black in 1980 and in 1981, they released Hells Bells as a single. The song starts off with the ominous slow tolling of a bell 13 times and an intro. Eventually, bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd start playing. The lyrics, sung by Brian Johnson, explain how the narrator will attack, comparing his actions with natural phenomena such as rain, thunders and hurricanes. Soon after the second chorus, Angus Young starts playing one of his best-known guitar solos. Enjoy the video!

While Gregg Allman's heyday was in the 70's when he and the rest of the Allman Brothers Band were the kings of Southern rock, in the 80's, Gregg performed solo for most of the decade with his own band. His last official music video from the 80's was for this song, Slip Away, a track from his 1988 Just Before The Bullets Fly album. Happy Birthday Gregg!

The Kinks - Destroyer (Live)

The Kinks' Destroyer is their highest charting Mainstream Rock single. In 1981, it peaked at #3 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Amazingly, they only had one other top ten rock hit (Do It Again peaked at #4 in 1985). There's a good reason for this though... the Mainstream Rock charts didn't exist until 1981. However, I am still surprised that their massively successful Come Dancing only made it to #17 on the Rock charts. Either way, Destroyer is a great song from The Kinks. Enjoy this live performance.

The Call - I Still Believe (Great Design) - Live At The Ritz

To me, The Call are one of the most underrated 80's rock bands. I Still Believe (Great Design) is one of those songs that almost everyone has heard, but if asked who sings it, most have no idea. The Call were active for a long time. They arrived on the scene in 1980 and remained active until 2000. I can't believe that this song only made it to #17 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts, and it didn't even chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Unbelievable... No matter, it's a great song, and I think you'll enjoy this live performance at the Ritz from 1986.

If you've got a little time, you have to read this Q&A session with Vince Neil from Motley Crue from Vanity Fair . It's titled Motley Crue's Vince Neil is Finally Bored With Boobs! And, that's just one of the juicy tidbits Vince shares. Here are a few of my favorites from the article:

Q. Here’s an idea for your next tour: Stiletto boots with rocket boosters in the heels.

A. That’s not bad. Tommy had this one crazy idea where he wanted to put his drums on a rollercoaster. We looked into it and we actually could’ve pulled it off. But it would’ve been very, very expensive. (Now that would have been cool to see...)

Q. Crüe’s female fans love to flash their boobs at the band. After almost 30 years, are you finally bored of tits?

A. I am actually, yeah. After this last tour, it started to get a little old. I mean, how many boobs can you look at? Sometimes you feel like a doctor. You just get up and go to the office and think, "O.K., I have to look at boobs all day." It gets tiresome. But then the tour ends and you don’t see tits everyday, and that’s when you start to miss it all over again. You want it back.

Q. So what did you specifically get from the devil in exchange for your souls? He didn’t just give you the chord changes to “Looks That Kill,” did he?

No, we negotiated for more than that.

He helped us get our hair to stand up straight. Back in 1981, that was all we really needed.

Q. So you sold you soul … for some hairspray?

A. More or less, yeah. (Laughs.)

Motley Crue Releases Greatest Hits CD And Tours Canada

The Crue's new Greatest Hits CD came out yesterday. If you're a Crue fan, you'll love the tracks as listed below. And, if you're planning on catching them live anytime soon, you'd better act fast, and if you live in the U.S., you'd better have a passport.

They're set to do a ten-city Canadian tour in January/February of 2010, and I think that's it for 2010. Click here for concert dates and tickets in Canada.

Vince Neil's You're Invited (But Your Friend Can't Come) Music Video

Motley Crue are taking a hiatus from touring next year while the guys all work on separate projects. Vince is going to be recording another solo album, so I thought I'd take a look back at his very first solo project. Back in 1993, he released his first solo album (Exposed) after he was bumped out of the Crue for a little while. One of the most successful singles from the album was You're Invited (But Your Friends Can't Come). The album actually went platinum and sold double the copies of the Crue's John Corabi-fronted self-titled album, which was a huge bragging point for Neil back then.

Besides featuring Pauly Shore, the video also showcases Neil's guitarist Steve Stevens, who most will recognize from his work with Michael Jackson and Billy Idol. Enjoy!

I think you're going to like this. It's ten of your favorite 80's rock videos...Sped up. And, the first one is hilarious. It's the sped up version of Aerosmith's Dude (Looks Like A Lady), and Steven Tyler's movements sped up had me cracking up. Some of them actually sound good sped up. The album's name, God & Guns, was in response to President Obama's speech in San Francisco during the run-up to the election when he derided small town America for clinging to their "God and Guns". There are a lot of songs about Halloween, but Black Sabbath's Black Sabbath has to be on the top of the list for songs about/for Halloween. This is one creepy song. This is the original video clip from back in the early 70's.

From Wikipedia: "According to the band, this song was inspired by an experience that Geezer Butler had related to Ozzy Osbourne. In the days of Earth, Butler painted his apartment matte black and placed several inverted crucifixes on the walls. Osbourne gave Butler a book about witchcraft. He read the book and placed the book on a shelf before going asleep. When he woke up, he claims he saw a large black figure standing at the end of his bed. The figure disappeared and Butler went to get the book, only to find that the book was gone. He then told Osbourne, who wrote the lyrics to the song." Happy Halloween everyone!
