It has been many many many months since I do an update. I bet there are no more readers out there reading my entry already. It has been so long, that my Shoutbox can't even work any more (they had decided to move away from free services, and I will remove it as soon as possible),

So many things had happened since last April. Yes, most of them are not good, and I'm not going to mention it anywhere here (which explains my 9 months absence in here). Yet, no matter how I hate them, those incidents are life-changer, and I will remember those lessons I've learnt during those times...

Well, the main purpose of this post is to let the rest know that I'M BACK! I've decided to return to blogging, and these time round I would like to attract more visitors to my Blog compared to before! =)

Yeah, the next big thing I going to do is to revamp this page, so readers (if there are still any) do check back soon! I promised! =D

Ahh...

I feel old and unaccomplished!

In a blink of an eye, I'm 24, and I feel really old, and had not done anything kick ass in my life yet...

Seriously, I need to work harder, I want to have good grades and earn big bucks from now on!

Anyway, I need to rush my assignment for this coming week. I have a buffet waiting for me on this coming weekend...

And yes, I need to go exercise as like my friend told me, the purpose of exercising is so that we can have more great food in our stomach!

17 days in to the new year, nothing exciting has happened yet, just that I'm already dead broke and I'm waiting for my paycheck. (By the way, why is it paycheck and not paycheque?)

Well, at least, after collecting my course materials, I'm really excited on my upcoming semester. All my books look thick, menacing, and of course, it makes me feel satisfying! Yet I'm quite turn off by the fact that these will be the books I need to read them up before going in to the examination hall. -____-

I was chatting with my friends a few days ago, on relationship issues. Nevertheless, in the past, these are some of the many few topics that my cliques and I love talking about. Yet as for now, I had to say that such topic doesn't grow on me anymore. Currently, I do not think I have the brain juice to deal with them, and I believe I have enough problems already.

Still, maybe, maybe, if I think hard enough, things might change?

Last day of 2010! 2 more years till the world start falling apart! =x

If that is the case, I think I had spent 3/4 of my lifetime studying...

Haha, jokes aside, 2010 was NOT an exciting year for me. Problems pops up from nowhere and everywhere! Money, yes money, is the one that is giving me hell loads of problems.

2 years of my conscription service ended on 13th of June this years. Other than making me healthier and fitter (but not now), it doesn't made me any richer. Still, I must thank the government for giving me the chance to drive and be proficient on one of the world best armoured vehicles, and also, they taught me the spirit of a cockroach; no matter how shitty the environment is, we still have to thrive for the sake of ourselves...

After ORD, it makes me realised that no matter how much money we earn, it just can't satisfy an average human appetite in terms of spending. We spent to live, we spent to socialise, we spent to garner knowledge, we spent to enjoy, we spent keep up with current trends/affairs and whats worst, we spent to relieve stress and headaches we got from these problems.

I chose to study uniSIM's Sociology and Communication, way before I ORD. Simply because all other private universities either offers psychology, or their sociology course are way too expensive for me to take up. What upsets most is that I met with a lot of opinions, either saying that uniSIM is lousy, or they told me to take up some other Business courses rather than spending money on some courses that are useless. Of course, I'm both annoyed and even thought of changing it. Yet after some serious consideration and encouragement, I intend to stay put with it, as I, myself had plans as well too, and I intent to use this degree as a huge stepping stone if I need to proceed to get what I really want in the end.

Still, having what I want requires hell load of money, and I can't be leeching my parent's money at the age of 27. In addition, I firmly believe that at the age of 27, the rest of my friends are making big bucks, and some maybe even married, settled down and have a family!

No doubt, as we grow older, more problems start surfacing, ranging from financial problems to relationship ones. Worst come to worst, some problems can lead to the other. Well most of the time these problems can be avoided in the very first place, we just don't listen to the advice and warning as both our ears are being covered by our own ego and pride, and we ended up digging our on graves. It does seems like some stories from the books that we read when we were younger, but when you start to see these stories being portrayed by your friends around you, you will start getting worried...

Friends? Money? Knowledge? Skills? Future? Relationship?

Lastly, dreams?

It seems easy for people to say, work hard, so that we can realised our dreams. Working hard is not that hard, but do they know that wish and dreams don't come true just by working hard?

I have dreams and I have problems too. These often comes in to clashes in my thoughts in the year 2010. What I really want for 2011 is that I want to have less problems, so that I can take one step close to what I want in the end. 2011 is also the year where there is no more pathway to walk anymore, I need to pave my own road and build my walk way, so that I can go where I want, and not being tied down by some silly thoughts and problems.

I want to make a difference in the year 2011. I want to earn some good income, I want to make myself useful, I want to pass my semester with awsome grades, and if possible, I want to have the whole world to myself!

Oh yah, I want to make my parents proud too.

My sis did it, and so do I!

Hmm...
Maybe I should stop dreaming too...

It has REALLY been long since my last update. I'm either busy with my driving lessons, or I'm trying to make my PC run a little bit more faster!

Well, at least for the past few days, it has been a fruitful one! Now let me show you what I had done! =D

FINALLY! After a few half marathons, I managed to convince myself to attempt the full marathon during the Singapore Standard Chartered Marathon, and I did not know it was SO challenging. I managed to run the first half of the marathon, however, as the time goes by, things starts to look gloomy, and I do not think I can managed to clear it under 7 hours.

Still, my friend and I managed to walk our way through the rest of the marathon with a time of 7 hours and 30 plus minutes. Trying to run a full marathon without a proper training is no joke. After the run, I'm all burned and dry and tired. It took me like 3 full days to recover. Piece of advice to those who are eyeing for their first 42km: IT IS A MUST TRAIN, EVEN WALKING THROUGH THE WHOLE MARATHON CAN BE SUPER CHALLENGING!

Right on the following Tuesday, it was something that I had eyed for 3 years, and that is the bloody driving license! For some of you who did not know what happened, I had failed my driving test TWICE before I got enlisted in to the Army, and those were the worst time of my life. Just imagine you spent thousands of dollars on the lessons, you can't even got hold of what you want. The fees were paid by my parents, and of course, I felt really bad. I can't even earn so much, and I have to spend so much on these lessons fees!

On Tuesday, after 20 lessons of my driving course, I finally managed to taste the sweetness that many of my friends had tasted before!

10 demerit points, and the feeling was like striking lottery at that moment, and the feeling was way better compared to receving my Identification Card on my ORD date!

However, just after one day, I suddenly felt that this is just a really small achievement for many people out there, which makes me feel that I should I achieve something even greater!

Lastly, I have to mention that I had a great time out at Marina Bay Sands on the 4th of December. All thanks to my sis, who had gave me the tickets, and also Mab for the evening! =D

I will be taking my first examination for the first time in 2 years. It is a bit of exciting, yet worried as I do not think I had really prepared adequately for it!

Seriously, working and studying at the same time is really tedious, plus, one must really prioritised what he/she has to do each week.

Last week was a hectic one! Whew! Finally, what lies ahead of me now is one more assignment and the examinations! Seriously, I can't wait for vacation to start! XD

I checked my AHM results... Quite bad, as I took 2hours 15 minutes to clear my last half-marathon! Still, that time was my peak.

Now, I'm waiting for the 5th of December to arrive!

My first term is finally over, and I can't agree more that I really had a good time studying! Haha! Yes, assignments are still dreadful, but the feeling of knowing more and see the world is so overwhelming that I that are no more than some insects bite! XD

Still, I need to get a job really quick. Hope the interviewer will call me back, tell me weather do I make it for the job. If else, I will go source for some other work...

I want to support myself and my family as soon as possible...

Yet I plan to study History after I had graduate from UniSIM...

Wao, I really should be updating here often. The workload is not killing me, but I just can't find the time to update. For the past few weeks, doing assignments, running, watching fireworks, and reading had taken up most of my time. I can't imagine if I'm working right now (I had signed up for a series of interviews for a specific company, I will let you all know when I got in to it).

I'm loving my courses that I'm doing! Even though I struggled through the assignments, I'm still glad I took up Sociology! I can't wait for my Communication modules to start! =)

Watching fireworks had become a norm for the past few Saturdays! All thanks to the NDP Previews! Haha! Not only fireworks, see the Leopards rolling down the Padang and the roaring sounds of the F-15 had made this year NDP unique!

Seeing the Leopards often bring a sense of pride in myself. I'm glad that I had serverd the 48th SAR in my 2 years of National Service! And I'm proud to say that these 2 years had not been a waste!

2 years ago, exactly today, I was conscripted in to the Army, which is mandatory for any male citizen above the age of 18. The feeling on that day was a mixed one, as I had been looking forward to that day since I graduated from Polytechnic. Well on the other hand, it is still the dreadful army where I had from many people that it is a waste of one's time and youth, I don't want to go there and plus, I won't be with my family every night for 2 long years.

I ended up in BMTC School 1, Jaguar Company for my Basic Military Training. Training over there was no doubt tough (though not as tough as some of the Companies in BMTC), but it was fun living on that island! The island has the best air, the best trees, having encounters with wild boar at a very close proximity and last but not it has the best weather and scenery (I'm so glad that I live in a building next to the sea). I still remember that there was a day where the wind from the sea is colder than the water that we had showered (it rain heavily that day you see) and all of us are running to and fro from the toiler to our bunk!

After 13 weeks, I Passed Out as a Private on the 10th of September 2008. As I expressed my interest not going any Specialist or Officers schools, I know jolly well that I will become and Enlistees, and I cross my fingers dearly that I will get the posting I want!

After 10 long days of leaves, I was posted to Sungei Gedong Camp, somewhere near Lim Chu Kang. Yes, this is where I wanted to be; a Tank Operator! I once told my previous Platoon Sergent that I wanted to be a Tank Operator, and the very next thing follow by was him scolding me having my brain throwing in to the mud. "You will rather be a Rifle Man than a Tank Operator!" That was what he says to me as being a Tank Operator as it is both dangerous and tough.

However, it was quite depressing on the very first day. Simply because it was too far away from civilisation, way too run down and also way too quiet compare to BMTC. It was like hell on the first day, tough I'm lucky to met a few familiar faces on the first day.

What comes next were the endless physical training, my vocation Trades Course (I was assigned to be an L2A4 driver) and Battle Courses. These were the stuffs that bonds the men of 48th SAR, 2nd Company together as we endure hardship and maintenance together.

On the 15th of April, 2009, I departed for Germany for my training. That was definitely the best days in 2nd Company. The weather was cold (that increases our productivity somehow), the food was awesome, the bunk was all cosy and of course that was the only overseas trip that all 12 crewmen of Platoon 5 were present. It was also my first time travelling to a European country, it was simply marvellous!

Following couple of months was all errands, parades, vehicle maintenance, outfields and more outfields. August and September of 2009 was all vehicle cleaning to meet the Australia Quarantine Standards as we were heading there for an evaluation. What I want to say that it was the worst time of my 2 years! Firstly it was all boring when one is cleaning the vehicle, second, it that was also the time I was having all the joint aches and swollen fingers as I was diagnosed with Chikungunya virus and last but not least, we had to burn our precious weekends in order to meet the shipment deadline. Just one word describe them all for me- dreadful!

November came and I touched down in Rockhampton for the ATEC. Funnly looking kangaroos, funny looking wallabies, funny looking possoms, funny looking birds, funny looking shower facilites, funny looking terrain and lastly funny looking food were the exciting sights in Rockhampton training area. Of course, when the ATEC starts, everything ain't looked so funny anymore. We were pushed to our limits as to get good results and performance, and that was when simple stuff like sitting together and having small talks with some nasty food going along is the best thing on earth. Oh yeah, we got 2(A) eventually!

Well, the end of our Australia training also marks the end of our high key events that had lined up for us. Running with combat load/S.O.C everyday was becoming a norm for me. Taking afternoon naps was also becoming a part of our lives. Other than more errands and vehicle maintenance, there are were really nothing for us to do, and this was when we really starts to enjoy our conscription life!

All good/bad/whatever things will come to an end eventually, all of us went Operationally Ready (except for Ranger Goh). After this phase of life, we all have our on dreams to pursue, our own paths to walk and our own responsibilities to carry rather than the polar opposites when we spent our days in 2nd Company. I myself, will definitely be missing...

Lastly, I will miss the 48th SAR all time scandal between The Machine and the OJW!

Before I end this entry, I wishes everyone all the best! Lets' remember the times that we had spent together as a Platoon and lastly I just want to say that I'm honourd serve my conscription service with you guys. I really wish that we will serve as the good old platoon once again when we go back for our ICT! =) Cheers everyone!

I'm really looking forward to my ORD date!

Reason simply there are not much people left in my bunk right now. Its getting a little cold and quiet, making me don't feel like booking in anymore.

In addition, my personal equipments and duffel bag are back home right now. Some of them are waiting to be unpacked and wash. I think I will do that tomorrow.

Season 5 of How I Met Your Mother had finished for a while ago, Glee and With You is ending next week. What I had left is K-On!! and Invincible Youth. Damn, everything seems to be coming to an end in hand with my conscription service... -__-

Speaking about Invincible Youth, I starting to like Narsha (by any chance if you have watch the show you will know about it) from the Brown Eyed Girls. She is p-r-e-t-t-y! =D

Damn...

I'm so afraid that I can't get a place to run the full marathon for Singapore Marathon.

Should I wait till 2nd of June (I need a Standard Charterd credit card to do that which I can't lay my hands on it until 2nd of June)? I've already draw out a plan (7.5km Singapore Cancer Run, 21km Army Half Marathon and last but not least, the 42km of Singapore Marathon) for this year and I don't want to miss the last of my list! Please people, sign up for all other category but not the 42km

In the mean time, I'm so in a deep shit right now...

I need like $120 per month to sustain my insurance and my phone bills.

When I go ORD, I won't have income anymore! So where the hack can I find $120 dollars a month?
