We had just recently participated the 52nd Jamboree On The Air 13th Jamboree On The Internet camp . It had been several years since we last join the camp. We've achieved quite some numbers of trophies which are :-

7. Best Cultural Night (Campfire)

We had made the school and the troop itself proud !

The Annual General Meeting for the year 2009 will be held this week. Details are as follows:

Venue : UMP , Class 5 E
Attire : Full Sea Scout Uniform
Patrol on duty : Beaver

Every single member of the troop MUST attend this AGM. Any unreasonable excuse will not be tolerated. Those who fail to turn up may face immediate dismissal.

It has been long since I've set up a poll. Well here it is, Who will be the Troop Leader for the next term?

Will it be Prob ATL Chin Quan? Did he did his job and carry out his duties well? Will he be trustworthy enough to earn the post? Prob ATL Kai Yann. Elected during TTO. Will he be chosen? Do not forget Prob VUL Cason Chong. He was leading the pack during Kerachut 09. What on earth happen to him after Kerachut? Will be shine once again and claim his spot as TL. We will find out soon enough.

What about other possible candidates? Will VUL Chuan Teik Min (Teko) get his chance after he missed out last year. Or maybe current TL Adrian Chuah proclaim himself Troop Leader once again to save the troop from falling apart?

It is the middle of the year now, and as usual, we Sea Scouts have our ASSTC. So, for this year , we have 3 junior patrols competing for the coveted Best Overall Trophy. Hopefully, it will be a tough fight to the end.

Date : Precamp - 15th & 16th July 09 , Camp - 17th , 18th & 19th July 09
Venue : Scout Den and Technology block
Report In : 1500 hrs on Friday ( 17th July )
Attire : Full Sea Scout Uniform
Fees : RM25 (includes camp-T , trophies)

PCGHS Campfire 09

On the 25th of April 2009, sea scouts from F4 and F5 participated in PCGHS Campfire. It was an eventful night that some of us would remember...or not. Anyway , we worked hard enough for a champions spot. Unfortunately we were beaten and we only managed 2nd placing and a best dance trophy. It was hard for some of our scouts to accept as they did their very best in their performances. This year's placing was a step of improvement from last years 3rd place. Maybe its our time to be champs next year.

The much awaited camp of the year is here ! Our very own 8th Georgetown South's

CTC 2008 : Delonix Regia

The preparations and precamp begins this Tuesday, 9th December 2006 on Penang Free School grounds.

-Precamp-
Date : 9th and 10th of December 2008 (Tuesday)
Venue : PFS field in front of Scout Den
Time : 0800 hrs - 1900 hrs

The majestic battle of begins this , 11th December 2008 which will last for four long lasting days.

End Date : 14th December 2008 (Sunday)
Report In : 0800 hrs (11th December 2008)
Dismissal : 1750 hrs (14th December 2008)

The big Finale of the camp is on the 12/12/2008 where finalists from Selection Day will battle against each other one last time and prove their worthiness for the Best Campnite crown.

Selection Day 2008

Sorry for the late post because there has been some difficulties for getting the permission for the place. Anyway , Selection Day for CTC 08 will be held on the 1st Dec 2008 , Monday. It starts from 10 to 5 pm. This event will be held at Youth Park. This event will be an open one.
So , everyone is welcomed to come and have a glimpse of some sketches , dances and advertisements. Hope every patrol is ready for this event.

The attire for scouts are Full Mufti and for the rangers/guides are the 2nd Uniform

I guess everyone is still busy with exams. But some are already thinking of the holidays and maybe CTC as well? Anyway , there will be a meeting for all scouts after the form 4's finish their exam which is on the 11th of November 2008. This meeting is important as there will be crucial matters to discuss. So , all scouts from Form 1 to 4 please attend this meeting. No excuses.

Time : 1500 hrs - 1700 hrs
Venue : Meet at 8th south table first

Fssu is not needed. Again , this is a very important meeting.

Attendance is compulsory.

After one year hiatus, Inter Patrol Competition is back on our schedule. This week, we will have the Knots Chart Competition. This is the time where scouts from each patrol show their talent and express their knowledge in knots. So, fellow scouts, be ready to witness the competitive event of the IPC 2008.
