Controversial actress turned singer Tonto Dike strutted onto the stage
to perform atIyanya's Kukere Concert on the 9th of June 2013 in London
only to hit the floor moments later.
It's her most famous fall andit got social media buzzing at once.
Tonto Dike has found it imperative to clear the air concerning this
fall following rumours she may have been 'drunk' or ' high' or both
before hitting the stage.
She tells Nollywood Movies Sky329 that her dress was the chief culprit
followed by her shoes and then the 'slippery' floor "It was a big…well
not a big fall and I managed it well. I fell because I had this very
long dress, and this very high shoe and a slippery ground, and
because I wasn't supposed to dance atmy first 'coming out'. I had
another outfit I could put onto really perform if I wanted to; it was
my choice but I just came on and they played the song and I just had
to dance and I slipped.
I made it fun really, I got up and danced, I didn't want to disappoint
anybody especially myself. When I went back stage, I was dancing my
head off. I couldn't go back on stage because Iyanya was on stage and
it was about closing. It was all his time. Nobody went back on stage
after him. I wish I went backto dance again and not fall that time.

Police To Seize Vehicles With Tinted Glasses

Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has directed state Commissioners of Police to arrest vehicles with tinted glasses and prosecute their owners in line with extant laws. The directive is contained in a statement issued by Frank Mba, the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, on Thursday in Abuja.

“Police Officers nationwide have been directed to commence a massive operation aimed at enforcing all existing laws bordering on tinted glasses and the use of unregistered/unlicensed vehicles,”
“This unbecoming attitude has the capacity not only to heighten criminal activities but to place unnecessary pressure on security agencies and law abiding citizens,”

“The IG wishes to remind Nigerians from all walks of life, including politicians, military and security personnel that the ban on unlawful and indiscriminate use of tinted glasses and legislation forbidding the plying of unregistered vehicles are still in force. He wishes to clearly state that the Nigeria Police will no longer tolerate few misguided Nigerians who abuse the use oftinted glasses and unregistered/unlicensed vehicles. Similarly, owners of unregistered/unlicensed vehicles are advised to immediately register them and obtain appropriate licences or withdraw them forthwith from public roads,”
the statement noted. The statement said that the habit complicated the challenge of effectively policing the country and endangered the lives and property of law abiding citizens.

166 feared dead in Akwa Ibom boat mishap

A boat traveling from Oron in Akwa Ibom State to Malabao in Equilateral Guinea, yesterday, capsized at the Calabar Waterways with no fewer than 166 passengers feared dead.
The “giant-sized wooden boat” when it capsized at 40 nautical miles along the coast of Calabar off Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, waterways”.
The eyewitnesses said the boat was carrying 168 passengers, adding that rescue efforts were still going on.
Leaving over 45 people dead, 45 corpses of some of the victims have been deposited at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, mortuary.
The Assistant Director Information, Cross River Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mr David Akate, who confirmed the incident, further details was not given regarding the incident
A marine transporter at the Calabar Inland Waterways, Mr Ikechukwu Egwu, also confirmed the incident. He said the passengers of the boat were mostly Igbo traders who were heading for Gabon, adding that they were mostly from the South East states who headed to Oron in Akwa Ibom to board the wooden boat because it was cheap.

A statement by spokesman of National Emergency ManagementAgency, Mr Y A Shuaib however said “Nigerian rescuers have recovered 9 bodies while two survivors have been taken to UCTH Calabar”, adding that rescue continues.
