The NOT so GREAT dinner @ ECOBA

Had dinner with Darren, Eddy and Mabel couple nights back at Ecoba, Damansara Perdana. How was it like? The food didn't taste so fantastic and our pizza taste like pancake. I ordered Blackened Salmon which was just a so-so.

Appetizer : Cream Mushroom
( Don't order this if you have a weak stomach to cream. Lesson learned. )
Pepperoni pizza : Rating out of 10? I'll give it 4/10.

The Blackened Salmon. Spicy. Rate : 5/10

Mabel order another pizza : Chicken Hawaiian.. Or something like that.
Taste better than pepperoni pizza that we ordered.

Food tasted like CRAP. Sorry ECOBA, your chef suck BIG TIME. What's good at Ecoba was just the drinks. The promo hours for BEERS was cheap. $55 for a jug of Carlsberg and $121 for 3 jugs during HAPPY HOUR time? We stayed long that night till it was closed. Random talks and hamster's balls being pulled out..and i picked up smoking tobacco over when Mable rolling and smoking tobacco, the rolling part got me excited like a little girl. So, that's NO more cigarettes for me. :)

I'm rolling my joint as we speak. ;)

Smoking Children

“A YouTube video of a chainsmoking Indonesian toddler inspired me to create this series, “Smoking Kids”.

The video highlighted the cultural differences between the east and west, and questioned notions of smoking being a mainly adult activity. Adult smokers are the societal norm, so I wanted to isolate the viewer’s focus upon the issue of smoking itself. I felt that children smoking would have a surreal impact upon the viewer and compel them to truly see the acts of smoking rather than making assumptions about the person doing the act. ”

There were no real cigarettes on set.

Instead, chalk and sticks of cheese were uses as props, while candles and incense provided the smoke.

During the days i went back to the hometown for Chinese New Year, i found this old picture of my brother and I. Picture was taken 20 years back and still well kept in my dad's wallet over the years. As much as i hate C.N.Y now compare to the previous years back, the memories of those younger days just tickles me and time just flew over minutes.

Got myself tortured 2 days ago. Chinese cupping treatment, my first and last. I hope. My body still sores till today and the marks..just fantastic.

One for the Money

I still remember reading Janet Evanovich novel 'One for The Money' when i was like what, 14? The book itself is very entertaining and i'm surprised it's coming out with a movie soon staring Katherine Heigl and Jason O'Mara. :)

Plot summary from the novel:

Stephanie Plum, an unemployed lingerie buyer, applies for a filing job with her cousin Vinnie, a bail bondsman. Vinnie's assistant, Connie, tells her the job is taken, but suggests she start apprehending some clients who have skipped out on their bonds, starting with Joe Morelli, vice cop and onetime sexual acquaintance of Stephanie. He is wanted for murder one. Stephanie is in financial trouble, and wants to take the job, as she will get a percentage of the $10,000 bail bond, so she blackmails Vinnie into employing her, by threatening to reveal his use of a duck for sexual gratification. In trying to find Morelli, Plum attracts the attention of a heavyweight boxer involved in the murders of several women.

(Over)dressed for the supermarket

We've all had that moment where we’re dressed to as much fabulousness as our wardrobes will allow, we’re heading to a spectacular party, and we need to pick up a few things up from the supermarket on the way. You know you’re overdressed for the freezer isle, but there’s something oddly liberating about click-clacking around in your high heels. You can pretend you dressed up, set your hair and applied your best lipstick just do your grocery shopping.

Constance Jablonski is having one of those moments for Vogue Mexico. Sarah Gore-Reeves’ styling is all about the season’s prints, but against the mundane setting of grocery store shelves the floral's and animal prints don’t act as much of an urban camouflage. Quite the contrary: it’s the everyday setting that makes a rather dreamy looking, 60s style Constance stand out so much more.

Jean Francois Campos took his camera into the supermarket aisles to photograph the shoot.

Give me a cinematic reference and I”m yours to keep.

That being so, this shoot had me at the title: Dark Knight. Granted Anna Selezneva isn't going about saving Gotham City in a bat suit, but there’s the shadowy quality, the all-leather outfits (more of a nod to Catwoman, perhaps), the photography angles that feel just a little disorientating.

With those elements the Steven Pan photographed shoot comes with just enough drama to validate the title.

Using only adobe lightroom 2.5( Yes, i am very much outdated. Thank you. ) to manipulate and change the contrast by a tiny wee bit since the original picture was totally washed out. It's also the first time i'm using my clip-on extension for shoots. Not so great, i know.

It's my first shoot for year 2012, i've gained 10KG over the past 7-8 months. Explains the chubby cheeks in my recent shoots. ;)

Invited to the launch party, I was able to have a taste what NyX is all about.

Yes, the bottle actually glows in the dark. Random cool shitz, isn't it?

Registration point was really a hassle as the location of the launch party was kept a secret. Searching high and low for the place all over Mid Valley Megamall. Heading over to east wing of Mid Valley, you'll see a huge booth with futuristic lasses introducing the Hennessy VSOP NyX.

Located at Vertigo, The Gardens Mall. Let's look around what happened to those who took a few shots of the liquor. ;)
