Right before all of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo craziness, I was lucky enough to attend my first IFA in Berlin. For those unaware, IFA is the CES of Europe. There are thousands of brands and companies, ranging from tiny start-ups to giant juggernauts. They all have one goal: to show off what they have been creating to the 100,000s of visitors that attend.

Apple is opening a new live music venue in Battersea Power Station, London. The new location is called Apple Music Hall, and even has its own website where fans can sign up to get alerted when the first tickets are available.

There’s an annoying little iPhone notification glitch impacting some users on iOS 27. For those affected, the Settings app gets a red badge prompting an alert to ‘Activate iCloud Storage’.

However, tapping on this alert simply navigates to the iCloud storage purchase screen and the alert does not go away after dismissing it. This glitched notification appears even when the user has plenty of available iCloud storage already, like if they are on a 2 TB family Apple One plan.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max introduces a new smaller Face ID system, with the Infrared camera now hidden behind the screen, near where the time is shown in the status bar.

It appears there may be a software glitch with that component in the shipping release of iOS 27. A number of reports from 18 Pro owners indicate that their device freezes and reboots after a failed Face ID attempt.

Last week, Apple officially released iOS 27 to everyone. The update comes with many new security features, which is nice given how lackluster iOS 26 was in that area. However, there’s one new anti-scam feature in particular that targets an area Apple has never explored before and could eventually be massively beneficial to users. Leading into the iPhone Duo launch, we heard from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman that Apple was considering a new Apple Pencil for iPhone Duo, though it was unlikely that the company would go forward with it. Of course, the iPhone Duo keynote came, and Apple did announce support for the USB-C Apple Pencil. Here’s how that happened.

iOS 27 is now available to everyone, and one of the big changes is that it makes your iPhone a lot faster. In fact, Apple has outlined more than 30 ways in which your iPhone will be faster after you update.

Well, this is odd. The handwashing timer feature is currently absent from the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 hardware.

With the new iPhone Duo, Apple is taking a little bit of a software gamble. All apps, in order to take advantage of the larger inner display of iPhone Duo, will need to be recompiled for iOS 27.0 at a minimum. To use the Duo’s unique new tab bar and other UI components, you’ll need iOS 27.1.

Of course, this means a lot of developers will have to rebuild to support the Duo. On the flip side, it also means Apple is taking a risk of many apps on iPhone Duo being stuck in black bars.

There was a post on X going viral a few weeks ago about password management. The password keeper book is more secure than most people want to admit.
