As the economy teters and jobs becom more and more scarce its no wonder so many are looking to working from home. Here are a few pointers I have learned.
1- No matter what anyone says you can do this

3- Taxes taxes taxes. There are too many benefits to list.

4- Low or no overhead.

5- In many circerstances yiou have the skill to do it.

Growing up in the Bronx taught me many things. I grew up in a middle class neighborhood when they still existed. The Bronx is rough but we still lived in a two family house with both parents who worked. I was luck enough to have an extended family there to help me grow as a youngster.

Now for doing our chores around the house my brother and I were given allowance but as a young kid you always want/need more money. To supplement my allowance we always came up with various ways to create income. Whether it was raking leaves, mowing grass, washing cars or even shoveling snow we always were looking for a way to make money.

In these lean times I believe everyone should be looking for ways to create additional income. Bills always seem to go up and at a rate so much greater than our raises. In addition there is no longer any job security. Both my mother and father only had a few jobs in there life while I've had about a dozen. Times have changed.

Now a side hustle can be anything but the most important thing is to find something that leverages your time, is something you are interested in pursuing as well as makes money. There are 1000's of opportunities on the net and I encourage you to do your research. Be sure to fit your skills with the opportunity there or if now exist create one.

A Well Rounded Coastal Business

How do you build a well rounded business with Coastal Vacations? Building a solid Coastal business takes a few components.

1- Leads

Leads can be looked at in two categories. First we have business opportunity leads. These are people that are looking to have a business opportunity and see Coastal as a viable option. There are many ways to generate these leads. I create leads by posting in forum such as this, blogging ( I use blogger + now wordpress), traffic exchanges ( list lotto, trafficsplash, free traffic bar, link referral + list joe to list a few), post in the social networks ( yuwie, ojeez, apsense, ryze and a few others), write articles, do press releases as well as creating lead capture pages. It seems like alot but making a schedule and doing the task in a sequence works. Plus you dont have to do each of them but only the ones you like. In addition I get 80,000 opt in leads a month ( free ) as well as 800 survey leads (free).

2- Making calls

The phone is a necessity for many in this business. I make calls to my leads during the day as well as answering my phone from the inquiries I get from my online activity. Im adding another component to my calling structure in the upcoming week as well. I actually looking to create a call center. Yes take a deep breath. For years I wasnt their biggest fan but ive found a center that actually makes outbound calls. I think its a good addition. Its like having a phone team. I'll update everyone as time goes on as to the progress.

3- Create a retail division

Retail is huge. You can retail to business. You can have travel parties. You can do so much on the retail end. Actually more people will just buy the travel package then wanting to do the business opportunity. I focus most of my energy on this aspect of my business.

4- Network for referrals

Give away vacations like crazy. Helping other business owners endears them to you and they become more willing to refer potential customers your way. Help them close their deals by giving them a cruise voucher. Show them how this package works for them and many will buy a package from you.

5- Get a good autoresponder

This can make or break your business. Have a prospecting campaign as well as a follow up campaign and if you can create an information campaign. I send out emails of free tools I find on the net to my prospects. Many sign up for them and become more open to things im selling as ive given them something useful. My free leads campaign is going exceptional. Its really opened up alot of dialog wih many of these prospects.

6 - Use the system.

Live calls are your best friend. Im actually creating a series of live calls that my team as well as anyone in Coastal can attend. The live Coastal Calls are a bit too late for east coast people so im going to make a solution. If you want details be sure to contact me. Treating your business as a business means learning to adapt. New technology is always coming out and we must be able to embrace it. Look at traditional businesses like fast food. With the big push on health many restaurants now have meals that are much better for our bodies. They have adapted. Do you do the same? Email marketing is forever changing. Phone calling is changing. B2B presentations are different than when I got in sales. You must learn to adapt.

This is the hardest part of any business. To learn how to embrace change and implement it without slowing down production can be hard to juggle. Take Contact Talk. I don't have the program but have been talking to many that have it. The going thing is that it takes some time to learn it. Many are faster learners than others so the slower learners will be taking time away from other business activities to get the jist of the program. That time can result in slower production. So you have to learn to weigh implementing new technology. My usual method is to have new technology overlap with my older technology. By this I mean test out new stuff before you do away with the old way.

As you will continue to see I will always give examples of traditional business. It seems to me with all the downsizing and outsourcing of jobs that some day home based business will be traditional business. The good thing is the same principles always work. Give people good service for a fair price. Buy merchandise at wholesale and sell retail. Give customers what they want.

I know that as you change your mindset about business you will see incredible result. In fact I feel sorry for many business owners I meet. There is a meat market in my town that my wife and I frequent. As we go there often we have gotten friendly with the owner and the fact we are business owners as well has come up. As we talked about us being in travel his eyes lit up. We asked where he would like to go and when and his response was ill be going on vacation in about 2 years from now. I asked why so long and he explained that he has no one he can trust to run the business in his absence. That is painful. Here is someone living the so called American dream that cant even enjoy the fruits of is labor.

I am so happy we are in the industry we are in. I get up when I want, go to bed when I want and live the lifestyle I want. What better life could I ask for. I get to interact with so many incredible people and learn as I go. What is a business? A business is where you have a service to offer and you exchange that service for something in return. Now for someone to want your service they must first have a need for what you do. I will refer to that as the "WHY". Now understand for them to give you some sort of 'CURRENCY" your service must be worthy. Would you spend your money on a new car if it didnt look new? Probably not ( some savvy buyers would use that as a opportunity to get a lower price). This exactly what happens when the perceived value of a product is lowered. You get haggling. Have any of you ever tried to haggle the price of a makeover in a beauty salon? Not many do they just pay the posted prices on services. You see they have established themselves as a viable business with a valuable product and you will even wait weeks to get an appointment to pay their price. They treat their business as a business and people act accordingly.

I have never had problems with the money issue when it comes to prospects. I saw Coastal for the value is was right in the beginning. 5 cruises for $1295. That's a no-brainer. When I talk to a client I show them the value of the product. When they understand value they are willing to exchange their "CURRENCY" as now they have a big enough "WHY". I treat Coastal like the business it is. When I do that prospects act accordingly.

Many of my teammates and associates work Coastal part-time. I give them the salon talk all the time. I assure them if they direct someone through the info and let them know you have specific hours for your business the serious prospects will follow the instructions. It indirectly conveys a few ideas to them.

1- First off they see you are serious as you act professional and have hours of operations.

2- It lets them know they can do they same. So many of us have way too busy lives so the last thing we need is another something to intrude on our lives.

Again business owners understand this. Why do you think drive thru fast food stores do so well. Its the convenience. As you show a prospect that this business is an enhancement to their lives and not just an addition you will see your finances and time freedom soar.

So step one is TREAT YOUR BUSINESS LIKE A BUSINESS!

Treat your Coastal Business as a business. That is rule number one. So many people think well I only spent $1295 and I dont have employees or a storefront so this cant be a real business. Well folks that is as far from the truth as can be. This is the new wave of business. Automation and the internet have changed the way business is done. You need to change your mindset and understand that business is now a global industry and the number one tool is the computer.

How can I treat my business as a business? Well first you have to model it after a traditional business. What does that mean you ask? Okay in any business you need a product, our product is travel. Respect that you are part of the 7 trillion dollar industry that it is. When you respect something you treat it correctly.

As a business you need to make hours of operation. Marketing strategies need to be implemented. A plan has to be in place. As a serious business owner these things must be your top priority. I look at my business as a billion dollar empire and one day it will pay me that way. I know thats a lofty expectation but hey I shoot for a billion and get a million well ill still be happy. If you have Bentley in your driveway how would you treat it? Well Coastal can be that Bentley.

Businesses have budgets so have one for your Coastal business. This is not a hobby. Many people have made 6 figures and some 7 figures in this business. Look at your expenses. See what your assets are as well as what your liabilities are. Understand and learn the business of business. Learn to barter services with other business owners. I cant tell you how many times Ive bartered a great trip for a service. Give a printer at a print shop a much needed vacation and get your fliers in exchange. Maybe you can get business cards. I have even bartered trips for ad space as well as to secure rooms for a presentation. You have a business with an unlimited supply of inventory. Use that inventory.

I understand how valuable my business is. It's like being the best looking person in the party. You know you have what everyone wants so you are the hunted. Act accordingly. Understand you are important and have something to offer. So many of us get desperate and chase people. We need that next sale so bad we lose our composure. Never be that person. When you are desperate the people feel it and will string you along. You lose all of your posture. Remember you offer a service that everyone loves. You offer it at an incredible price.

If I could bottle a pill and sell happiness my wealth would put Oprah and Bill Gates to shame. As children we are always so happy but as adults the weight of the world seems to keep us from finding that magical place. So what can we all do to increase our happiness.

1-PUT GOD FIRST

I understand that many of the people in the world don't believe in GOD but HE exist and is in control. As we focus on HIM and put HIM first he will lead us to happiness and contentment.

2-BE THANKFUL

I am the first to admit that all of the material things that I desire are not in my possession yet but GOD has given me all I need and I need to be thankful. As I become more thankful I appreciate what I have and focus on it and the result is happiness.

3-GIVE BACK TO OTHERS

As we do for others the feeling that we receive is amazing. Ever volunteer for people less fortunate than ourselves? When we do it makes us understand how blessed we are and that in turn brings us happiness.

4-SMILE

It takes so much more effort to frown than to smile. You can disarm the most difficult of situations by just smiling. I have used this to my advantage over and over again. Try it out yourself and see.

Happiness is within all of our grasp. You just have to focus on what you have and not what you don't have. I encourage you all to read the Bible and look at how it talks about how we think and being thankful. So much has been said and done about THE SECRET and THE LAW OF ATTRACTION. Well the source of all that knowledge is the Bible.

The Law of Attraction - It's About Frequency

Many of us have heard of the Law of Attraction - that like attracts like. However, many are confused about what this really means.
In my experience, like attracts like means that like frequency attracts like frequency. My high frequency attracts the things I want and my low frequency attracts the things I don't want.
The question then becomes, what raises or lowers frequency?
WHAT LOWERS FREQUENCY?
Anything that makes you feel down lowers your frequency. Here is a list of what I have found lowers frequency:
* INTENT TO CONTROL - When your desire is to control your feelings, as well as others and outcomes, you are operating out of your wounded self, which lowers your frequency. Even positive thoughts can lower your frequency when your intent is to control rather than be loving to yourself and others.
* NEGATIVE THINKING, RESENTMENT, JUDGMENT AND SELF-JUDGMENT - The lies you tell yourself from your ego wounded self lower your frequency. Feelings of fear, anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, shame, jealousy, and envy all have a low frequency, so any thought that comes from false beliefs and that creates these feelings lowers your frequency.
* RESISTANCE - The fear of being controlled by others, by God, or even by yourself, creates resistance, which lowers the frequency.
* ALCOHOL - While people might convince themselves that they raise their frequency when drinking, this is not true. Just because it may lower your stress, doesn't mean it raises your frequency.
* PRESCRIPTION DRUGS - Since prescription drugs are alien to the body, the body has to work to deal with them, which causes a lowering of frequency.
* RECREATIONAL DRUGS - A few recreational drugs - the kinds of drugs that indigenous people used infrequently to connect with Spirit - can raise your frequency for a short period of time. But frequent use has the opposite effect.
* FOOD - Fresh, whole organic food has a high frequency, but processed foods have a low frequency and lower the frequency of your body.
* LACK OF EXERCISE - Our bodies are meant to move; not moving lowers your frequency.
* LACK OF SLEEP - It is hard to have a high frequency when you don't get enough sleep.
* LACK OF WATER - Dehydration creates huge stress on the body, which lowers the frequency.
* NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT - It is often hard to maintain a positive attitude when in a negative environment. We are affected both positively and negatively by others' frequency.
WHAT RAISES FREQUENCY?
* INTENT TO LEARN - Our free will to choose our intent in any given moment is the most powerful choice we have. Choosing to learn about loving ourselves and others, rather than choosing to protect/avoid/control is the major way we have of raising our frequency. This is why, when we think positively from an intent to control, in an attempt to manifest what we want, we are often not successful, as anything done from the intent to control - even positive thinking - lowers the frequency.
* POSITIVE THINKING - This might seem like a contradiction to the statement above, but it is about intent. When your intent in thinking positively is to be loving to yourself and support your highest good, this raises your frequency. When your intent in positive thinking is to control others and outcomes, then it lowers your frequency.
* FOOD - Fresh whole foods that are in alignment with your metabolism and that support your health, raise your frequency.
* EXERCISE - Exercise that you love and that makes you feel alive raises your frequency. Forcing yourself to do exercise that you don't like lowers your frequency.
* GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP - Sleep is vital for feeling good enough to be open to and connected with yourself, others and your spiritual Guidance. Being disconnected from ourselves lowers our frequency.
* DRINKING ENOUGH WATER - Being fully hydrated is vital to keeping your frequency high.
* BEING IN A PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT - Being in nature, listening to music, and being around loving and accepting people raises your frequency.
* LOVE - Love and peace are the highest frequency feelings, so being loving to yourself and others, which creates inner peace, raises your frequency.
Like does attract like, so focus on keeping your frequency high and you will manifest your dreams!

How To Build Self-Confidence

When I was in my late teens a friend of mine, an elite athlete, gave me the most profound, yet simple advice that changed the way I would view myself forever. He told me:
"You yourself have to think you're great because no one else is going to tell you that you are."
Translation - It means that we alone are responsible for building self-confidence. We cannot depend upon, or wait for anyone else's approval. We must see ourselves as worthy and capable of achieving anything we choose to achieve.
Ultimately, how we see ourselves is more important than how anyone else sees us.
If we don't work at loving and accepting ourselves, nothing anyone else thinks matters.

We met for 2 hours and I learned so much about networking as well as what is available for small businesses. The home based industry is an ever evolving entity where if you don't keep up with the trends the market will swallow you whole. This is the dilemma that befell our organization as the market and economy took a dive. So what is the solution? In our opinion it is smart to reevaluate the market , our customer and revamp our products. There will always be clients if you have a good product but the key is finding out how to reach them in addition to showing them that your product fits their need.

Our industry is travel and more specifically discount travel. As people are tightening their belts the word discount shines out like a beacon of light in a dark tunnel. This can and must be looked at positive to anyone in a home based business. If you can offer a product at a better overall price to the consumer be sure to advertise this to the hilt.

By studying the market and its changes you can use this recession to make a fortune as branding yourself as the go to business in hard times. As the months go on we will be constantly tweaking our business plan to accommodate the ever changing market and suggest you do the same.

Working from home takes faith

Many people make the decision to work from home. In an economy like this working from home is the best option for so many people. As people are laid off of work and have problem finding work the ability to make money from the comfort of your own home becomes something that is attractive to many. So how can anyone make it work for them.

Years ago working from home was something that had a stigma that went with it. Companies like Tupperware, Avon and Amway lead the market in the way to make money. I bet you can remember the home parties that you attended back then. Well as the saying goes you have come a long way baby. Today there are many ways to make money from home and the methods to do so have changed incredibly. The internet has truly changed the playing field. There are many that make full time incomes working part time hours leveraging their time and money with the use of the internet.

So where do you get started? How do you make the decision to start a home based business and what do I need to succeed? The first componenet you need in this endeavor is faith. By no means is working from home a get rich quick scheme. Now there are many that make money right out of the gate but that is not the norm. You need a good business plan to succeed. Even with a good business plan you need faith. You have to believe in yourself and be willing to do what needs to be done for everything to work its way out. It might take a few years but you can truly make a run at this if you have the faith.

Let me give you a real life example I am truly familiar with. It is our story. About 5 years ago when we started in our business we had immediate great success. In our first 7 weeks of business we made well over 10k. The success was incredible. Unfortunately with the onset of the recession we ran into some very hard times. The thing that got us through was our faith. We had faith in ourselves and took the obstacles as hurdles that we could learn from. What it taught me was how to deal with adversity and to teach others to do the same. If it had not been for my faith we would have never been able to make it. Now many of you might not be religious but we are and understand that with the help of God we can do anything. Call it what you like faith, postive thinking , or the secret but it works. For us our faith can and will get us through all that is put in front of us.

Safety Precautions While Traveling

There are many important features of vacation. It is not an option but a compulsory measure that has to be taken while traveling anywhere whether it is your own country or whether it is abroad.

To have an uninterrupted vacation you need to keep a count of the things you should be careful of. Especially children being sensitive you have to take extra care when it comes to children.

Some of the things you should be careful of is knowing what can causes allergic reactions, taking extra care if you have undergone any operation, making sure you carry your medicines as prescribed by your doctor.

Having a First Aid tool kit is a must have on a trip or a vacation, Some of the medications are prescribed skin creams, pills, bandages, wound cleansing lotion, lots of Cotton, carrying hot water bottle, carrying your own medicines that are prescribed by Doctor, if at all you get allergic to anything, you know what to do!

As I began to write my blog today I came across something that rarely happens to me. I got writers block. So being as resourceful as I am I did a search for travel articles for reprint. Lo and behold I found the perfect article. Im always talking to people about staying in condo's and luxury homes. Well here was the perfect article. So sit back and enjoy.

Whether in Orlando or Budapest, freelance writer David Leonhardtsays that private vacation home rentals are tops.

Two visits to Budapest. Two apartments, walking distance from downtown. I did not even set foot in the Hilton. My mother and I saw Budapest like only someone who stays away from the Americanized hotels can. We stayed with the locals. We came to feel the city, not just see it.

Several years later, I returned to Europe on my honeymoon (this time, without my mother). The first two nights in a little village near Schaffhausen, Switzerland, we stayed in the European version of a vacation villa rental: our own unit in a private home, our own balcony overlooking the scenic village, comfort, privacy and peace.

Three weeks of touring brought us to one or two hotels, several bed and breakfasts, and a couple "gasthauses" in Austria and Liechtenstein that felt more like private homes.

"There is no way to compare the comfort and privacy of a private villa with squeezing everybody into an impersonal hotel room," says Stewart Granville, CEO of Last Minute Villas a booking site for Florida villas and vacation rental homes. "You have your own space – and lots of it – and you don't have to worry about noise of peeping eyes. Usually you have a private pool, spa, sound system and other luxuries."

Last Minute Villas books some vacation rentals on Florida's Gulf Coast, but mostly in the Orlando area, where there is the greatest demand. Typically, theme park visitors stay in the motel strip in Kissimmee. Those with deeper pockets might stay at the Disney World Hotel. Few people realize that a vacation home near Disney World or in nearby Orlando is even an option.

"People come to the beach to relax," says John Hogan, owner of Florida Vacation Rentals, serving the northeast coast of the state. "The last thing they want is to listen to talking, music, banging or shouting in the next room over. A vacation rental home gives both privacy and peace."

Luxury comes cheap in a Florida Vacation Home

Fewer still realize how cheap it is. One Florida villa owner describes how he had just checked his guests in to his own Kissimmee/Orlando area villa. Drew was heading out of town, but he missed his flight. With ten people staying in his rental home, there really was no place for him. He checked into a very basic motel, typical of the Kissimmee strip, and realized he would be paying over $200 per night for ten people – or about $1500 per week – for uncomfortably basic motel rooms typical of Orlando and other vacation mecas.

"They stayed in my house for $900 - and they got their own private pool, ensuite bedrooms, laundry facilities, refrigerator and all the things you now take for granted in villas," Drew says. "It really opened my eyes to just what a sweet deal my visitors are getting – and how little motel visitors get for their money, too."

Two years ago, my brother and I rented a private cottage in the Laurentians. We had four bedrooms, enough to accommodate both our young families. We could see two of the neighboring houses, which would be useful in case of an emergency.

We had the television, the stereo, the fire place, fresh raspberries right off the bushes around the house (some blueberries, too!), a screened patio with a private table/bench swing, and a nice big fridge to keep juice, milk and beer cool. We had plenty of space to spread out and a table just perfect for a relaxing evening of cards.

Last summer, we rented a private villa in the Laurentians again, this time overlooking a small lake, and a canoe was supplied.

Why would anybody want to crowd their family into a hotel room? Or even two? I've been spoiled. From Orlando, Florida to Budapest, Hungary, travel in style by staying in a private vacation rental home, no matter where you go.

Hey everybody. I know these days everybody is looking to make some more money. Layoffs are at an all time high. Let’s face it jobs are no longer guaranteed. It’s getting to the point of not if I lose my job but a matter of when. For that reason more and more people are looking to become their own boss. We can no longer sit back and depend on a job. A simple way to create free leads

Want to create free leads for your business? Of course you do. Ive use a simple method to create leads in my business and want to share that idea with you. I will be the first to say that this idea is not new and I have totally "borrowed" this method from big corporate business and the way they deal with us the consumers.

Have you ever received a free sample? Free samples are a great way to test your product. You can gather ton's of info from this method. In my travels to the stores and malls of America ive sampled dozens of free samples as well as trials. Many times this is the last exposure to a business I need to make a decision to use them. Free trails let you test the product at no risk. If it works out well for you as a consumer you are probably going to use this product in the future. Get a product you can use or taste on the spot also is powerful. If you have ever been in a BJ's, Costco or a Sam's Club you know what I mean. I love their free food and many of the samples make me buy their product.

So how do you relate this to your business? Find something that you can give away in your business and make samples. Give them away as a advertising venture. If you can offer a free trial to your service do so. In the event you dont have something that you can give away for free or cant offer a free trail then you are encouraged by me to find a free gift to offer from the internet. Maybe you can team up with another service and cross promote. Big business does this all the time with great results.

Strategy to use on Traffic Exchanges

Have anyone of you ever used traffic exchanges. If you are an experience internet marketer the answer is probably yes. Many swear by them and many think they are a waste of time. Whatever your opinion I have a strategy that I think will work for you. Ive used it with good success and wish to share it with you.

Many of the ad pages are attempts to sell a product. I applaud all of the website owners as they are entrepreneurs just as we are. But as most of the people on traffic exchanges are business owners looking to sell their own product alot of these great ads are wasted on the wrong target market. We are literally asking other business owners to join our business because ours is "better". This type of marketing isnt the best strategy.

So how can we make traffic exchanges work for us? Ive thought of two simple methods that I use and have worked for me. Let me share them with you. It's my wish to give you another tool to make your business more effective.

Strategy one isnt a stretch from what alot of the top marketers are already doing. This strategy is to offer a free product or service on the exchange. Most marketers are looking for a good tool use to make their business work smoother. So offering a service that does that is a good way to get people to sign up. Now many marketers will get signups to affiliate programs they are a part of. These affiliate sites have splash pages that others can sign up on. I suggest adding another step to the process. There are free ways to make your own lead capture pages on the internet. Ive used many ( my favorite is Instant Squeeze Page Generator ) and they are great. You can create a page and gather the prospects info and then they are forwarded to your affiliate page. What this does is give you a name, email address and telephone number ( if you want that field as well). This is an excellent method to build your own list of followers.

Now the second method I believe should be used is to create opportunities for joint ventures. Find a way to partner up with another entrepreneur. Think of a business that fits well with another business. My primary opportunity is travel so I find opportunities that compliment my business and create ads that talk about teaming up. What about your business? How could you partner with another owner in a way that would benefit you both. Now it's important to find a business that isnt in competition with you and your opportunity as you will be sharing a list with this other business. Your list is your power in any sales organization and guess what. Your opportunity is a sales organization no matter what you have been told.
