Bold scents in a Shower gel

Thanks to @Neutrogena for sending me this product.

I have been trying out these Rainbath Shower and Bath Gels for a couple weeks now. They all have unique bold scents like Pear & Green Tea, Pomegranate, Ocean Mist, Fresh Plum and Original of course.

It is a thick gel and you can use it with a loofa, wash cloth or even with just your hands to lather up. There is no oily residue on my skin afterwards and I get a squeaky clean feeling without that over drying feel like bar soaps can tend to do.

You can see I have all the scents ready so depending on my mood I can choose which scent I want to use. I happen to have couple that have mysteriously disappeared from my shower. I guess the kids love it too. I have also used it in a pinch for shaving my legs when I ran out of shave gel and it did the job.

Anti-aging and pigmentation correction in progress.

Skincare is one area I feel splurging is worth it. Using higher end skincare has always worked better for me than the typical moisturizer or serums you can get from the drug store. Of course consistency is KEY, without consistency you probably won't see any results and giving up will probably be the result.
Using you skin care once in a while, weekly or on a special occasion isn't going to help you with preventing signs go aging.

Here are a few items from NEOSTRATA I tried out and what my thoughts are about them.

1. Full Size NEOSTRATA SKIN ACTIVE Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum; 1.0 fl oz $100

Amino Acid derivative, Aminofil(TM) is concentrated to support skin's collagen

Hyaluronic Acid volumizes, plumps, and firms skin for a more lifted appearance.

Gluconolactone, a Polyhydroxy Acid and chelator, helps to reduce oxidative damage and gently enhances exfoliation fo rmore even skin tone.

My thoughts: This has an oil-like feeling and actually feels soothing upon application. I used this nightly and followed with a moisturizer. After application it seems to have a mild tingling/stinging sensation. It was nothing to bothersome, but it was worth mentioning.

2. Full Size NEOSTRATA Lotion Plus; 6.7 fl oz $50

This high-strength lotion is designed for experienced Alpha Hydroxy Acid users who prefer a lightweight formulation. A highly effective exfoliant concentration, this product is recommended for relief of roughness associated with sun damage, hyperkeratosis, and keratosis pilaris. Fragrance-free. Suitable for use on the face and body.

My thoughts: This Lotion seems the most potent as fat as feeling any sensations on your skin. You are suppose to use it nightly for for 2 weeks, then twice a day after that. I would have to agree that it is highly effective exfoliant. It doesn't start over night, but you will see a difference in your skin.

3. Full Size NEOSTRATA Skin Active Retinol + NAG Complex; 1 fl oz $78

This high-strength complex delivers pure, stabilized Retinol along with NeoGlucosamine(TM) to amplify and intensify the volumizing and firming effects of Retinol. Formulated with time-released microencapsulated Retinol to maximize stability while enhancing the tolerability of this potent formulation. My thoughts: This one is the one I am still waiting to see any results as far as minimizing fine lines, however when it comes to uneven pigmentation...yes! Normally I would expect to not see results for several weeks. I have high hopes for this one. This is to be used 1-2 times a week and eventually every other day. I am definitely taking my time and not rushing since I know it consistency is key.

Let me mention a little about my skin issues:
#1 is hyper-pigmentation or dark spots. It is not just freckles, these are dark areas that have become darker over time. I have them on both cheeks and on my forehead. Sometimes they are so dark, people think I have been crying and my makeup ran down my face. It can be quite embarrassing at times.

Now on to my experience so far:
I have noticed a definite change as far as pigmentation and evening out my skin tone. I even see my makeup looking smoother after application. I might be imagining this, but it seems like it is making a difference in just a short time which to me is quite surprising. Check out the pictures below and let me know what you think of my results.

FYI: The pictures have no color correction or editing, other than cropping to try to match the initial picture and were all taken with indoor lighting.

Strivectin Instant Line blurfector

This is a new product to help with blurring fine lines. You can apply this on its own or under makeup. I personally use it under my makeup and let it sit for a couple of minutes before applying my foundation. I notice my skin looks smoother and more youthful. My pores are less noticeable around my nose and cheeks.

The consistency is a bit thicker than a lotion and is a whipped consistency. It glides on easily, however I like to tap over my problem areas to make sure my fine lines have a better chance of staying filled.

I have been using Hyaluronic Acid Serums for a couple years now. I heard about it being and amazing and magical product that can help hydrate and maintain hydration in your skin. It can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. This helps plump your skin and reduce the look of fine lines. It does help my skin stay more hydrated throughout the day and not dry out.

This serum comes in a dual chamber container and there are multiple types of hyaluronic acids in this serum. 6 serums mix when dispensed. I use this after cleansing in the morning, before bed and I prefer to have my skin still damp. I find that having damp skin helps out, at least in my mind haha. This glides on easily and I moisturize right after to help maintain the moisture and hydration to my face.

I love trying out new products that they come out with and this hyaluronic serum is a great addition to their skin care line.

Wunderbrow review

I have heard a lot of pretty amazing things about Wunderbrow. This is the "miracle" brow product that will not fade away. Well this is what I have hear.

Here are the details:

WUNDERBROW - Eyebrow Gel

$22.00 for a 3Gm tube

Available in 5 shades.

On the Wunderbrow website it says that this is "Semi Permanent". The claims is that this will last for days and only take approximately 2 minutes to apply.

It comes with a spoolie to comb out and blend the product into your brows and the WunderBrow 1-Step Gel.

With WunderBrow Without Wunderbrow

This was a pretty neat test for me.

I have very sparse brows and this definitely made my brows appear fuller and did last the whole day. I do have a pretty rough facial cleansing regime and scrubbing my brows is part of it so as for the lasting for days.... That did not apply for me. I can say it does last through the hot humid Florida weather. The beach and swimming is no match for the Wunderbrow either. It lasted right through the fun in the sun.

Application:

The wand is a brush (like a mini paint brush) It would have been nice for it to have at least a stiff angled applicator. It is nearly impossible to apply this with the brush it comes with in the tube. The way I apply this is with a small angle brush and then comb it out with the spoolie. Re-apply till you get your desired look.

I would recommend to apply a small amount at a time since this is very pigmented and can get a bit out of control if you do not pay attention.

A Healthier Chip?

Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips

Beans are the primary ingredient in this snack which is great for the health-conscious snackers. Beanfields chips are vegan, gluten-free, allergy friendly, and made with non-GMO ingredients.

This is a great alternative to the typical "corn" chips. They are crunchy with a slightly different texture and a bit more dense too. The flavored varieties have a bold taste and there are also a variety beans. Navy beans and black beans with brown rice. With some varieties (plain) only having 5-6 ingredients that you can actually read and know what they are. No need to google it. I feel very comfortable offering these as a snack to my kids.

With 7 varieties of Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips to choose from I think you can find a flavor that will appeal to anyone in the family.

My favorite is the nacho and pico de gallo.

The kids had big opinions.
Texture: Some did not like the texture, while others were not bothered. "It's different and not like other chips"
Taste: This is where everyone had an opinion. The most liked was Nacho, then pico de gallo. The lease favorite was barbecue and most comments were it was too strong and not like barbecue.
Overall: The kids enjoyed trying a new chip and getting a little education on a healthier brand, however unfortunately they still prefer other types of chips. As far as the adults, we are a bit more reasonable and try to eat healthier versions to stop the craving of our bad treats and this was a nice variety and substitution to the usual.

What is the real difference?
I did a comparison the the Beanfield Nacho and the other triangle tortilla chip.

Clarisonic miaFIT Review

I would like to first start by saying I have never used a facial cleansing brush before. This is the first and only facial cleansing brush I have used. This is my thoughts and I have been using this for several weeks now and have an opinions on this and well....

This was a great kit which came with the miaFIT, a charging base, the Urban Decay pore perfecting completion primer potion and 2 brush heads. There is one softer brush head (pink) and the other a bit more coarse (blue).

My usual skin care routine consisted of using a facial cloth then jumping into the shower to finish cleaning my face. I would use a variety of cleansers and rub with my hands. I would use an exfoliating scrub several times a week. The only thing I would have to do after showering is use eye makeup wipes to remove the additional liner that was hard to remove, yet easier to remove after a nice hot shower versus rubbing before the shower.

I thought I was doing a great job. On my first use I decided to do my regular routine and then add the Mia Fit to the mix. I was completely shocked at the dirty scrub brush! All this time I thought I was cleansing my face properly and I was so wrong!. The brush was full of left over makeup that I apparently did not remove. This was even before I scrubbed near my eyes. I decided to cleanse my eyes as well and what do you know...no raccoon eyes after the shower!

How it Works:

FIRST! Yes you can take it in the shower!! No worries the whole device can get wet.

After charging on the base for at least 18 hours..

There are 2 settings. a quick and more deep cleansing setting. Pressing the button 1 or 2 times for the setting you want. That setting will be saved until you change it again.

The 1st setting is quick and the brush actually buzzes to let you know when to change from section to section on your face. It will automatically shut off after all sections are complete. The 2nd setting is the same however each section is a little longer for a deeper cleansing with the harder brush. This is the setting I typically use daily.

I add my favorite cleanser on the wet brush and done! I would recommend not using a lotion like cleanse since it tends to stay on the brush and is very difficult to clean your brush out. It tends to stay kind of stained with makeup until your next few cleanings with another cleanser.

I do prefer the blue brush over the pink. I think the roughness and firmness of the brush felt more thorough in my opinion.

This is a small, compact and very simple to use. It works amazingly well.

I honestly didn't believe the hype. I now realize why it is so loved and talked about.

As for the Urban Decay Pore Perfecting facial primer:

The packaging it very cute, however I would like for it to have a top that could be used to stand the product up with. It would be better, especially when you get down to the end of the tube.

This has a silky, creamy, yet sticky consistency. The tackiness is a bit strange and does help with pore minimizing. It is a bit more thick and takes a bit more effort to smooth evenly to the face. It works fine with prolonging the wear time of my foundation. I have others that I prefer more, but everyone has a preference to consistencies. You may prefer this over another. Good thing is that it is easy to get a travel size to try out any Urban decay primer. It is very affordable.

Amuse Bouche Lipstick

The packaging is a very cool matte black, but with an almost rubberized feel to them. There is a small dip in the cap which reminds me of the shape of a lipstick. It closes and locks securely as well. I don't see an accident happening with these.

Here is what I think :

These lipsticks are bold, pigmented and creamy.

One swipe is crazy bold! They glide on easily and feel very moisturizing on the lips.

I was able to try out 3 shades. Here we go for the try on.

Beetroot- Bold Berry

This is a very dark red, berry/wine shade. This one can be a bit hard to apply and using a lip brush will help get a crisp line to the lip.

Gazpacho - TrueBlue-Red

This is the most amazing bold red that gives my teeth the whitest tone.

Pepper- Dusty Rose

This shade seems to change tones. In the pics below it looks pink in tone, but other times is is much darker and brown toned. This is my favorite since I can wear this one daily. A perfect go to work shade.

They are long wearing, but at the same time the darker bold ones can be quite messy. Since they are so very pigmented, you really need to pay attention when applying to your lips and maybe a lip liner would keep these from moving around. They are not transfer proof, but still long wearing and I would say hours of wear. If your hair swipes across your lips and rubs your face you will have some lipstick on your face. I love how bold and long lasting they are, but torn due to it not being transfer proof. I wish they were not so messy since they look stunning.

Chomps a healthier beef snack

I was finally able to try these out and let you know how they compare to the other meat sticks we usually see in the store.
I have to admit I frequently eat those other meat sticks, so I think I can give you a pretty good idea on how they compare.
Chomps are shorter, but thicker in size, however they are the same weight as the long slim jim. They have more firm texture and are not greasy like the slim jim is. The taste is slightly different and does not have the tangy taste. This is overall a great alternative.

Shampoo - Premium Organic Anti-Hairloss Argan Oil Based $24.99

This shampoo prevents hair-loss and shedding. While I was looking up the details, there were so many natural ingredients in there and it was great to see that I could pronounce the majority of the ingredients in this shampoo.

The consistency is a very thick clear and has a very neutral/natural scent. I make sure to apply straight into the roots for the best results. While I do not care for the scent I have to say it makes my hair feel really great and extra clean. It also has a light weight feeling after cleaning, which I really like after washing since I have thin hair. It feels ready for the conditioner. If you are sensitive to scents you may not care for this, but I still use it since I truly love the results and you may want to give it a try anyway too. Love Melaluca (tea tree) and Lemon oil, sage oil just to name a few. It gives that slight cooling sensation to the scalp to. It makes you feel like it is doing it's job to help wake up your scalp.

This is a very thick and creamy and has a floral lavender scent that make me fell like refreshed. For the best results let it sit in your hair for a few minutes (5) before rinsing out for a silky feeling. It does not weigh down my hair either. It takes a more than few pumps for me since my hair is down to my waist. It is not overly conditioning, but it does the job.

Argan Oil - Pure and Organic Argan Oil 4oz $24.99

If you are not familiar with argan oil this is a do it all solution for your hair, skin and nails. I usually add a drop or two in my hands and use in wet hair after my shower. This just gives my hair the extra nourishment I feel it needs and it also helps tame any fly aways that I would normally have without weighing my hair down. It is a thick and heavy oil and that is the reason a little goes a long way. The dropper makes is a no mess application. Any excess I have on my hands after rubbing this through my hair I run onto my cuticles and that helps so much. I started using it on my feet and I thought why haven't I done this before. Argan Oil just fixes any skin issues for me.

Overall I really do enjoy the end result. Again the shampoo is worth it but the scent is a bit over powering, but it works so well. Once you rinse and apply conditioner the scent is gone. As for my hair falling out? It is still falling out, but my brush isn't completely full after brushing.

Clay mask for hair? Dessange at Target

Ok my friends!

Here is something quite interesting to me. Here is my issue...

I normally have to wash my hair daily due to my scalp getting very oily by the end of the day and if not them for sure by morning it is pretty gross. I have tried dry shampoos and they work, but make my hair and scalp feel dirty. I do use dry shampoo when I am too lazy to wash my hair. I am not happy with it for the whole day, but will work for an instant need to get rid of the oil.

Here is a new product to help combat my oily hair. I was very happy to give this a go and see how my hair hold up and performs.

The included brush make is so easy to apply evenly all over the scalp. The pointed end helps you separate the hair do you can get your oily roots covered. For my is the top and sides of my head. This is to be used once a week and apply to dry hair and leave on for 5-10 minutes. This clay mask is a unique looking mask and does have the typical clay smell with an additional perfumed scent. I also like that I can use this before getting into the shower on dry hair so I do not have to go back in again to rinse. After applying I rub it into my scalp and wait. When I am ready to rinse I used the second step below.

Balancing Shampoo, $9.99
"The second step in the Purifying Clay system, the pro-vitamin b5 enhanced balancing shampoo, purifies hair at the root and nourishes ends for smooth, balanced hair. After letting the mask set I washed out the mask as directed with this Balancing Shampoo. It gave a great lather and cleansed out the mask very easily. There was no need to wash twice since this took all of the clay out completely. This has a very fresh and clean smelling shampoo.

So I know you want to know how this did for my hair... I do have an oily scalp at the end of the day. I actually enjoyed painting this into my roots. I was happy that it came with a brush and I didn't have to scoop it out of the container by my fingertips for a change. This does help with minimizing the oil production throughout the day, but I still feel the need to wash at the end of the night.

I have used it on my teenage son who is currently fighting the extremely oily scalp as expected at his age. This helped him much more than me, by minimizing his oil production through out the day. He does feel the need to was at the end of the night as well, Overall much better than without.

I thought it was a unique treatment which did also leave my hair feeling soft and light weight.
