The Union Public Service commission will hold the Geologists' Examination 2010 commencing from 4th December, 2010 for recruitment to Geologist (Junior), Group A and Assistant Geologist Grade-I, Group B in the Geological Survey of India and Jr. Hydrogeologists (Scientist B) Group A in the Central Ground Water Board. Conditions of Elgibility

(A) Age Limits: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st January, 2010. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

A candidate must hold (i) Master's Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognised University or (ii) Master's Degree in Mineral Exploration or (iii) Master's Degree in Hydrology or (iv) Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Geologist's Examination, 2009 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Applications are invited from unmarried Male Candidates for Enrolment as Sailors for Sailor - Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR) - 1/2011 Batch. Course Commencing 31 January 2011.

Age : Candidates to be born between 31/01/1990 and 30/01/1994; both dates inclusive
Educational Qualifications : 10+2 (equivalent qualified with compulsory subjects Maths, and Physics, optional subjects Chemistry/ Biology/Computers.

Pay : During the initial training period they will be paid Rs.5700/-PM, on completion of initial training they will be posted in the regular pay scale of Rs.5200-20200 plus Grade Pay Rs.2000/- plus MSP Rs.2000/- plus allowances as admissible.

Selection Criteria : Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations.

How to Apply: Application Forms, in accordance with the prescribed format, and complete in all respects should be sent through Ordinary Post only with the type of entry, choice of centre and percentage of marks in 10+2 is to be clearly written on top of the envelope containing the application.
