This week’s Girl Crush is the oh-so-lovely Taylor Sterling of Sterling Style and The Glitter Guide. I just love Taylor’s girly style and I am especially crushing on this particular look! I love a good stripe, plus those cute flats (p.s. they are on sale!!) are just beyond adorable! It’s such an effortlessly and chic outfit!

It’s bridal shower season, I can just smell the petifores and tea sandwiches already!

A few weeks ago I introduced you to these beauties, but I just love them so we are going to chat about them again!! I do so many kitchen shower invitations this time of year I thought the online shop may have felt a little left out… so I made one just for the shop! Today I wanted to share with you a really sweet design I just finished for the cutest couple ever, Katie and Ben.

Katie and Ben are expecting their first baby and wanted something sweet and personal they could use as thank you cards. Along with the new addition to their family they also have a new house, so Katie thought is would be great to do something that incorporated all things new! I totally agreed and went right to work! This illustration turned out so fun and bright… I just love it!

Photo 1. On Friday night we had a girls’ night! We had so much fun, we got all dolled up and headed downtown to sip cocktails on a rooftop, catch-up, and dance the night away (my feet still hurt!)! We do girls’ night often but it usually involves pajama pants, not stilettos.

Photo 2: Florida has a winery… who knew?! Good friends of ours told us about Lakeridge Winery a few weeks ago so we had the day off and thought it might be a fun day trip! We had such a good time, they give you a tour of the vineyard and bottling process, and at the end you do a wine tasting. It was really so much fun! On our way home we even found a tiny restaurant on the water, ate lunch, and made a stop to see Safe House at an itty bitty movie theater…. tickets were only $5.50 and popcorn was $3.50… needless to say we will be making this day trip again.

Photo 3: On Sunday afternoon we stopped by my grandmother’s house for a late lunch. During lunch I asked her if she knew of a place nearby that we could go and pick our own strawberries, she of course said yes and then pulled out this vintage metal address book. As soon as she pulled it out I was instantly fascinated by it, everyone of course laughed at me because I was so unaware of what address books used to look like. Then she told me if I thought that was nifty, then I would really like my great grandfather’s recipe scroll from his old paint shop… I am beginning to wonder what other treasures she is hiding in that house!

This week’s girl crush is the stylish + stunning Ashley Madekwe. I have recently become obsessed with the show Revenge and in turn obsessed with Ashley, who plays Ashley Davenport in the show. I love her character’s style, so while doing a little googling I stumbled across Ashley’s real life blog and became instantly hooked…. and now I have become equally obsessed with the real life Ashley!

For us, we spent the better part of the weekend at my grandparent’s lake house. My entire family was in town so we spent our days digging up old photographs, finding treasures, and enjoying each others company. Here are just a few snapshots from our weekend…

Photo 1. While digging through a jewelry box I spotted these pretty earrings (or “ear bobs” as my grandmother called them) that belonged to my great grandmother. She was always wearing some big statement piece, and these earring were no different! I immediately scooped them up and wore them on Sunday afternoon. Wearing them made me feel oh-so-fancy.

Photo 2. This is the view from my grandparent’s lake house, isn’t it stunning? It’s easy to spend entire afternoons just taking in the view.

Photo 3. For some reason ever since I was a little girl I have always had a fascination with my grandfather’s binoculars. I found them on Saturday afternoon sitting on the kitchen counter so I put them around my neck and went outside to see what I could find…I immediately felt like Nancy Drew.
