Since mainly all of our family and good friends don't live in Hawaii, Lucas received many holiday gifts through the mail. I am a believer in good gestures, and a handwritten thank you note is more special than an email - {especially when making baby's first Christmas extra special}. Oh my, where have I been?? What's that saying again... oh, yes... time sure flies by when you're having fun. Lucas is now eight months old. I - can't - believe - it - !!!
Things are pretty busy in our neck of the woods, in an little island called Oahu, HI. The hubby is not home at the moment. I tell Lucas that he's out on an adventure with work, which is true. To all the single mom's out there, I pat your back and give you high five's cause wow, having a lil' one alone is busy... busy...

7 months

It's amazing on how much my seventh month old baby Lucas is not the newborn baby Lucas we brought home from the hospital. He is crawling full speed, standing up at any chance possible, knows that feeding time consists of three delicious meals of breakfast/lunch/dinner, with bottles in between, and has three {almost four} teeth.
Everyday is filled with a new memory, a new insight, a new image.
I can not wait to see what's instore for this month.

With today being the last day of 2012, it's always a time to reflect and remember all of the good memories and moments the year had brought us. For me, it was the year of new beginnings with the birth of my son Lucas Kane. I can't imagine my life without my lil' one. He is for sure my highlight of 2012.

Last week, Lucas went and saw Santa. He was a bit unsure on who this old man was, who was wearing a red suit and glasses. And that long white beard...
He sat on his lap, and was a-okay. But then he turned to look at him and cried. Not a scorching scream, but a cry that lasted only a few seconds.

As for our new holiday tradition, we will be decorating our Denson Ohana {means family in Hawaiian} gingerbread house every year. Lucas decorated this one all - by - himself... just kidding. The gingerbread house is from Williams Sonoma.

Every parent may decide differently, but we opted to wait to start feeding Lucas veggies and fruits until he was six months. While I was pregnant, I purchased the Beaba Baby Cook to make Lucas homemade baby food. It's so simple to use, and it literally is such a breeze to make him fresh, food. So far I've used it to make: sweet potatoes, peas (which he did not like), pears and carrots. On the menu this week are apples.

Time is just flying by in a blink of an eye. Baby Lucas is officially six months old {on November 29th}. His two bottom front teeth are about half way grown in, he loves to babble, and just started to crawl. He loves to eat his oatmeal baby cereal; and has discovered that he loves to eat sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, and peaches. On his "don't like to eat" list are peas and bananas. I've started to do homemade baby food, which I'll be sharing soon.

Thought I'd share my photo experience with a 6 month old that is on the verge of crawling. Let's just say getting him to stay in one place for a quick photo is not an easy task. Baby Lucas absolutely loves bath time. Ever since his umbilical cord stump fell off, he was getting a bath every evening. We wanted him to know that a bath would be relaxing and would eventually get him into a routine. Now that he is six months old {will be sharing pics of this soon}, he knows that right after the bath, he get's his last bottle for the day, then off to bed he goes. This Black Friday was spent at Target and Cyber Monday was spent online at gap.com. We are getting prepared for the upcoming holiday season, picking out holiday presents, jammies, and festive nursery decor for Baby Lucas. I also finished and ordered our 2012 holiday cards yesterday. I can't wait until they arrive, so I can start mailing them out.

This Thanksgiving will be the first time I've ever cooked a turkey {wish me luck}. I've planned a wonderful meal, in which I will be making all from scratch. I love to cook and love being in the kitchen, so I'm hoping it shows through the meal. Here's what I have planned:

Life has been consumed on being the best mommy to Lucas, so my time on the internet hasn't been happening these last several months. But this morning, I woke up a bit early and decided to see what I could find. I stumbled upon Censational Style on BH&G's blog and found a DIY on the horizon. I have the same stools that I can transform... just like the photo above. I will let you know how it turns out.

We are back home from our trip and Baby Lucas did amazing on the plane{s}. We survived our flights from Hawaii to Louisiana{and vice-versa}, as well as our flight to Texas. He actually fell asleep for two of the flights {once at take-off and the other at landing}, and never cried once. I did come prepared with lollipops and earplugs to hand out to our fellow travelers, but didn't even need to offer them since he was so good.
Baby Lucas has a new aunt Bailey, which is the reason why we were in Texas... for a wedding.
We had an amazing trip and made memories that will last forever.

We had ourselves a mini photo shoot to capture Luke's first Halloween. I opted to use pumpkins of several sizes and colors, a monkey hat, a faux fur blanket, and a lil' baby in a diaper. I'm no professional photographer, but I do love how they turned out. Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween.

On the 29th, my lil' Lucas turned five months old. Another month has just flown by. His bottom two teeth have cut through. He's a champ at eating his baby cereal {eats one Tablespoon at lunch and dinner}. He loves to play, grab his toes, and loves our dog Mike. He's trying to figure out how to crawl, and I bet it won't be long until he figures it out.

Happy Halloween. Will be carving pumpkins today and will pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters.

I've been on the hunt for something to hang above Lucas' changing table. I of course turned to one of my faves, etsy. While roaming around, I stumbled upon the Starcraft. I instantly fell in love with Frances' work. I ordered the 'antila' mobile and customized it with the colors of my choice. Not only does it look great in the nursery, but Lucas loves to look at it from above. I call it his shooting star.

On September 29th my baby turned 4 months old. I keep asking myself, "where's the pause button?" I can't believe how fast he has grown in just 4 months.
