Der erste Entwurf eines Saat- und Pflanzgutgesetzes wurde 1929 vorgelegt.

Die Vereinigten Staaten schufen 1930 eine Patentierungsmöglichkeit (US Plant Patent Act). A grassroots movement that emerged out of the anger of a young US mother about the growing number of genetically modified organisms in our food, the political clout of large Biotech companies like Monsanto, Syngenta, DuPont or Dow, and the failure of politics/governments to inform and protect their citizens.
The outpouring of anger and the will to bring about positive change was demonstrated in cities around the globe on 25.5.2013 by millions of activists who took to the streets to voice their concerns.
