Makeup lesson with Jackie

I recently ran a makeup lesson with Belinda's gorgeous friend Jackie. It was my first time teaching makeup application. I admit that I was a little nervous but Jackie immediately put me at ease, she is so easy going and friendly that it's impossible to feel nervous around her. Jackie picked out several (make that, quite a lot) of looks she loved from her Rae Morris book. I decided to go with the natural look and a colorful green and purple look which would bring out the green in her hazel eyes!

I mainly used Jackie's makeup so I can't remember what products I used. I did get to use Belinda's 88 Warm Palette which has some really nice colors in it. I am going to buy it very soon!

Tomorrow my ad for makeup lessons will be opening on Living Social!! I am so excited. I really hope that this ad brings in a lot more business for me. If I let myself think about the fact that I'll be teaching groups of girls makeup application I start getting nervous hehe. But I'm keeping focused. I have compiled an ever growing list of makeup products/supplies I'll need for lessons. It's going to cost a bit for the outlay but it will be worth it in the end.

This is my list so far:

Disposable mascara wands
False lashes
More foundation
Lipsticks
Lipglosses
Lip liners
Face wipes
Mirrors
Little brush sets for my students
Cotton pads and buds
Hand sanitisers
Mac face charts
Mac Paint Pots in Ground Work, Bare Canvas and Bare Study.
Kryolan concealer wheel
A highlighter in powder and liquid
More mascaras...most likely Maybelline faslies and volume express.

I'm sure the list is going to get a lot bigger haha. I can't wait to start crossing off this list :)

Trends for 2012

A couple nights ago I was discussing organising photo shoots with my friend Saskia. She started the conversation by declaring that we simply MUST do a sixties theme shoot. Heck yes! I have a couple sixties style makeup looks that I've been wanting to try out for a while now..perfect opportunity! Whilst having this conversation I flicked through my recent Instyle magazine...they have a little section on the new season. I did some googling and discovered that the sixties are on trend this season! Awesome, this means I'll be able to put together outfits a lot easier ha ha.

How cool is that eyeliner! I have made it my goal to find yellow gel liner! No, make that, to find and buy EVERY bright gel liner. I'd have so much fun with them :-)

What I wore: 14 January 2012

This is what I wore yesterday when my brother and I called on our grandparents. I bought this dress down in Bunbury, WA, last summer but haven't really worn it (I don't know why, it's so pretty)! And I got it on SALE! Sweet. It looks great paired with this bright pink lipstick...which happens to be eye liner, not lipstick ha ha. I shall do a post on the makeup later :-)

Today I ran my first makeup lesson!! So exciting. Jackie and I had such fun and Jackie looked FABULOUS. I shall share some photos once I get them from my aunt.

Today was also SUPER hot :( I am a Summer Grinch as my aunt (a fellow summer hater) likes to call herself :-P So after the makeup lesson I jumped into the pool..but it had had it's pool cover on for a week and the water was so hot..I think it was cooler out of the pool haha.
