<p>On Thursday March 4<sup>th</sup>, GM Ramirez will travel to Tucson for a three hour Strategy Session on the U of A Campus. Registration is closed to players rated 1600+ USCF.  Strategy Session will take place<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong> from 530pm-830pm.</strong></span></p>
<h4>Details:</h4>
<p>$75. (Tucson Session is closed to 10 participants). <em>$50 for Tucson Participants who register for the Phoenix events below!!!</em></p>

<p><em><strong>December 6th, 2009.</strong></em> ASU Campus, Physical Sciences, Wexler Hall, Room 118. Parking available at Parking Structure #2, on the Northeast corner of McAllister Ave. and Tyler St. Structures and lots are free except during special events. Or location may be moved to 845 E. 7th Street Mesa, Arizona 85203. <strong>Please inquire about location upon registration.</strong></p>
<h4>Strategy Session Details:</h4>
<p>3 Levels: Intermediate, Advanced, and Master. Groups will be divided according to the player&#8217;s ratings. General outline for each section is: 1200-1499 (Intermediate) 1500-1799 Advanced; and 1800 + for Master.</p>
<h4>Schedule and Format:</h4>
<p>Intermediate Group: 9am-12pm; Advanced Group 12:30pm-3:30pm; Master Group 4pm-7pm. Lectures will take place for 45-55 minutes each hour, and will be followed by a 5-15-minute snack and relaxation break. <strong>Snacks and refreshments will be provided by ACE Chess!</strong></p>
<h4>Instructors:</h4>
<p>IM Danny Rensch and other guest speakers will be providing Lectures and Game Review during the Strategy Session: Nationals Preparation Seminar on December 6th. Multiple time State and National Champion, Tiger Rensch, will also be a guest instructor for the Intermediate Group.</p>
<h4>Lecture Topics:</h4>
<p><strong>Intermediate: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Opening Preparation and necessary tips needed before a National Championship</li>
<li>Tactical Exercises and Position Solving</li>
<li>Practice Game with Game Review</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Advanced:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Pawn Structure 101: A description of the 10 most critical structures</li>
<li>Study Habits Explained (how to REALLY prepare before a tournament)</li>
<li>&#8220;Positional Planning&#8221; Ideas Reviewed</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Master:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Opening Preparation for the highest level (how to find and evaluate novelties)</li>
<li>Players who register in advance will have the opportunity to email games for review, and questions to be answered by IM Danny Rensch, during the Strategy Session.</li>
<li>Calculation training during the review of famous, Super-GM Games</li>
</ul>
<p><em><strong>Note:</strong> Adult Participants are welcome in every section!<br />
</em></p>
<h4>Strategy Session Entry Fee:</h4>
<p>$45 by December 1st, $50 by December 4th, $60 at site.</p>
<p><em><strong>Strategy Session Entry Fee for All players 2000 &amp; Up:</strong></em><br />
$40 at all times.</p>
<p><em><strong>Note:</strong> Registration and check in by 8:45am Sunday morning.</em></p>
<h4>Awards:</h4>
<p>An MVP Trophy will be awarded to the most active, focused, and over-all best performing student from each section.</p>
