This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Finally, spring is here!

Oh I’m so loving it. The warm-ish weather brings joy into my heart because here in Maine, when you see the sun, it doesn’t matter if it is 32 degrees… it is warm enough. And when it’s warm enough, it only means that I can spend more time outdoors whether taking a photo walk down the back road or running 3 miles or starting my garden.

Speaking of garden, I have decided that this year, I will finally get my hands dirty and get into sustainable gardening. Yup, it’s a drastic decision I’ve ever made so far. You see, my Sweetest loves gardening. It’s part of his spring rituals. He loves his vegetable garden even if he doesn’t eat veggies. Yes, for real! As for me, I love eating veggies but I don’t want to participate in gardening because I don’t want dirt under my fingernails.

So this year, as a first time gardener with zero knowledge on planting… I did my homework and researched about how to start a garden.

First of all I listed down the gardening supplies that I need to jumpstart a garden. And first in my list is a good pair of gardening gloves – so I won’t get dirt under my fingernails. Then, I wrote down the kind of plants I want to plant. I will have an “organic salad garden” so I will save on my lunches. I will have arugula, baby spinach, romaine lettuce, celery, carrots, beans and bell peppers. I will also have herbs since I am planning on putting my new toys to work – a dehydrator to make my own seasonings. And probably have a little flower garden of tulips in different colors.

Then, I have to dig up my Sweetest’s gardening tools in the shed to get them ready to start the garden. And last by not the least, get myself a Scotts Florida Select Natural Eucalyptus Mulch which is made from 100% Florida-grown Eucalyptus.
What is a Eucalyptus Mulch? Here is what I learned about it:

1. SUSTAINABLE: Sustainably-harvested and plantation grown Eucalyptus is considered a renewable resource because it re-grows up to 4-times faster than Cypress.*
2. NATURAL: Made from 100% plantation-grown Eucalyptus trees. Eucalyptus Mulch is guaranteed free from any construction, demolition, pallet, or other waste materials.
3. EFFECTIVE: Prevents weeds naturally** while helping to conserve soil moisture and moderate soil temperature.
4. LOCAL: 100% Florida-grown - helps support your local economy.

And here is what I consider as very important thing about Eucalyptus.

*Sustainably-harvested and plantation grown Eucalyptus is considered a renewable resource because it re-grows up to 4-times faster than Cypress.
**A three-inch layer of Eucalyptus Mulch naturally helps prevent weeds by blocking growth and access to sunlight.

As a first-timer, I deepen my research on the use of Eucalyptus mulch since my Sweeetest’s instruction is plain and simple. Actually, more plain… just put it on the ground. LOL. Well, I need specific instruction and here is a more detailed instruction.
How to Use: Spread 3 inches deep. Keep mulch several inches from tree trunks and house foundations or other wood structures.

When to Apply: Apply around trees, shrubs, flowers or vegetables after seeds have germinated and plants have developed.
Where to Use: Apply around trees, shrubs, flowers or vegetables after seeds have germinated and plants have developed.
Where Not to Use: Avoid use: Before seeds have germinated, around underdeveloped plants, and within several inches of house foundations or other wood surfaces.
Coverage Area: A 2 cu. ft. bag will cover the following: At a depth of 2 inches, 12 sq. ft of bedding area. At a depth of 3 inches, 8 sq. ft. of bedding area. At a depth of 4 inches, 6 sq. ft. of bedding.

And oh by the way, for those of us non-Florida readers, Scotts Nature Scapes mulch is also an option for our landscaping needs this Spring. It helps in maintaining moisture which is very important to me who always forget to water the plants. It helps prevent the growth of weeds which is annoying. And it creates a groomed landscape all year long.

So if you are thinking of re-doing your front lawn or wanting to make one, it comes in 3 different colors and variety of textures so maybe you want to try Classic Black around your oak trees or Sierra Red near your rock garden or Deep Forest Brown around your flower beds. And yes, they’re natural forest products so no waste wood. Scotts Mulch

There you go friends, I am so ready for spring and I am so ready for my spring garden. I can wait to start. This weekend will be the day. I just pray that it will not rain because anything can happen up here in Maine. Worse… it could be another snow storm. Hayyy.
Yes, I took an indefinite absence from blogging. And yes, I have no alibis!

Working 12 hours a day is not an alibi since I can play "Words with Friends" till 10 or 11 PM every night. Training for a race is not an alibi since I rarely run to train. And busy doing with chores is definitely not an alibi since I got tons of things to do around the house.

So what is the reason why I have not been blogging for more more than a couple of months now? Good question!

I have none!

Being lazy is not an alibi either... it's in my DNA! [lol]

But I'm back but don't count on it because it is only an "alibi". [hahahaha]
There’s an App for that!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of apartments.com for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

We were having lunch at work the other day when one of the teachers commented, “Nobody stays in the same place anymore”. At hindsight, I thought to myself, “It could be true.” For some reasons I was browsing for new apartments and houses for rent online for hours last weekend. I had no intention of moving [yet] but the thought of change I believe is inevitable and I myself am not exempted from facing this reality one day.
This morning my co-worker confided that she is looking for a new apartment to move in. She and ex-husband are planning to sell the house they shared for the past 10 years and now that they are living their own separate ways she needs to move on and start all over again. Then I remember about the website where I was browsing for apartments at apartments.com.

For a non-computer geek like my co-worker, I told her how easy it is to navigate and search the website for new apartments. Looking for a dream home through this website is a no-brainer. It's user-friendly and can be searched by state or location, maximum rent amount, number of bedrooms, amenities, and other important stuff that home-lookers are looking for an ideal abode. And true to what I say, she just loves how important information is also provided for each complex which makes it easier for her to make important decision that she needs to make the move. And more importantly, she loves the “apps” where she can check updates on the available and new listings for rent on her iPhone and iPad.

As for myself, since I am not really looking for a new place just yet, but still I benefit from this website because it offers useful information and tips not only from finding the right apartment to landlord and lease issues but also from home decorating to housekeeping… from health to safety and from money to moving and settling in. The information I get from this website is enormous and phenomenal that is why I didn’t realized I was browsing the site for hours. It was an entirely new experience for me. That is why I follow it on tweeter so I can get updates on their new listings.

And knowing my friend… knowing that she loves this website… I bet she had already tweeted her apartment search experience and will soon be making a decision. And in no time, she will be moving in and moving on.

Monica to complete our itinerary of the day. It was a fine sunny day and by this time, it was a little milder compared to the temp earlier.

Sta. Monica Beach is another must-see when you are in California. And at that time of the year I would not pass that rare opportunity just to be near the beach because back in Maine, it was freezing cold and snow-covered.

The Pacific Pier is one of the attractions around here. This is a playground for kids and kids-at-heart alike.

And since I was already there, I had to take a shot of the balloons just for the heck of it.

And I was right on target. A little kitty stuffed toy was a cute reward for the little hard work.
LOL

Me at @ Rodeo Drive

It's a tradition. Since when? I don't know. I just made it up, okay. Or maybe I was in my Pretty Woman mode at that time. Well, I remember something - when in Beverly Hills... Rodeo Drive, Baby! Yeah, it's a line in the movie. Or it was just one of my many alibis when I want to go shopping. LOL.

@ Via Rodeo stairs near Tiffany Store

But one thing is sure though. I got a driving force to see the hotel where Edward (Richard Gere) and Vivian (Julia Roberts) fell in love. Why? Pretty Woman is my favorite movie of all time. It's not that I can relate to it... but who doesn't like modern day fairytale stories? So yes, I saw it and it felt pretty indeed.

Me in front of The Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel

And since I was in my Pretty Woman moment I strutted and walked up and down Rodeo Drive admiring the holy shrines of high end consumerism. I walked by the same place where Vivian walked and walked pretty-womanly. hahaha on my way to the sacred shops of Tiffany's and Louis Vuitton. LOL

Me, waiting for the green light as we headed to check out other stores

It was such a wonderful experience to be in a place where everything is beautiful and insanely expensive even just for a brief moment.

The stairs going to Via Rodeo where the grand tree was standing.

Oh well, even just for a brief moment I was in wonderland but reality sank in when I realized I cannot afford any of the merchandise they had in the store. And I woke right up when I noticed that nothing was on "sale or clearance". Whew, what a bad dream.

Carmen, Joey and I - taking a little break from window shopping

Honestly, I didn't buy anything at Rodeo Drive. Why, would I? The "Edward" of my life was left in Maine so "Vivian" had to settle on admiring those pricey purses at LV and beautiful jewelries at Tiffany's. After spending a few more minutes checking out the latest in fashion at different high end stores we hopped in the car and set forth to Sta. Monica to conclude my Californication Day Five.

With Carmen and Joey at the grounds of Griffith Observatory.

One of the most famous landmark in Los Angeles, California... my visit in LA will not be complete without taking a look.

Admiring the Griffith Observatory up close and personal

And taking a look didn't mean just that. It took more than just looking and observing and posing. The observatory is huge. It sits on top of a hill over-looking downtown LA. The view from above is spectacular. And from this vantage point I was trying to locate my cousin's apartment. I failed. LOL

Looking down at Downtown Los Angeles from the Observatory.

The Observatory is quite intriguing to me since the first night of my visit to LA. It was the first thing I saw through my cousin's bedroom window when I opened my eyes in the morning and the last thing I saw when I closed my eyes at night... and the only thing that I used to predict what kind of day it would be... it was but natural for me to get my curiosity checked.

With Joey in front of the Observatory after exploring the facility.

So Carmen drove us back up to LA and on to Griffith Observatory as soon as we got our way out of Pasadena. We explored one of LA's iconic architectural wonder and one of the Southern California's most visited and popular attractions. We went inside the building but didn't get the chance to take photos. I really don't remember if taking photos is not allowed or if we were just overwhelmed by the great architecture and everything inside it.

With Joey at the spiral staircase around the side of the building.

We went up some stairs and saw some cool stuff that I really don't know what they are for. Well, they are for astronomical reason of course, LOL we just didn't spend more time reading signs because there were hundreds of people inside.

Posing with the Hollywood sign in the background.

Griffith Observatory sits on the southern slope of Mt. Hollywood and from the park's ground, you can see the Hollywood sign from the distance. We didn't waste more time in the observatory because we still have 2 more places to go to in our itinerary for the day.

We headed back to our car as soon as we got out of the building and headed straight to our next destination - Rodeo Drive, Baby!

I have watched it on TV every year when I was still in the Philippines. When I migrated here in the US, I promised myself that one day I will go see it in person. And in 2010 while I was watching the Pasadena Parade of the Rose on TV [just like every New Year's Day in the past] I told my Sweetest... "next year, I will watch that... for real!" And I did!

Yes, this is a long overdue post about that special event. Don't judge me! LOL. I was caught up with something... or I was plain lazy to follow through with this Californication Posts Series that I planned to do a couple of years back.

So after my TSS Mini Reunion in SD and New Year's Eve in LA where I had a traditional [sort of] Filipino Medya Noche with Carmen and Joey, the Pasadena Parade of the Roses finally took shape as we planned how to get there early without losing our senses.

Carmen, Joey and I left the house a little past five in the morning. The two straight nights of lack of sleep made me feel light-headed. We were early, I thought. When we reached the street where the parade will pass by, it was already lined with people... in sleeping bags, folding chairs, mattresses and whatnots. We were already late, I supposed because those people evidently were there a day ahead.

The crowd. There was no way I can see the parade from where I was standing.

Finally, after almost a couple of hours of waiting, the Parade of the Roses came alive before my very eyes. I was happy though I can't get a clear view of the parade because of those people who made their sacrifices just to be in front of the line.

Carmen and Joey sipping hot cocoa.

So we just amused ourselves with the crazy crowd over hot cocoa since the weather was kinda chilly too and enjoyed some photo shoots here and there.

Me and Joey not minding the passing float.

That year's Honorary person was Paula Dean. Though I am not really a big fan, it was nice to see her waving at the spectators.

Paula Dean

A total of 47 floats joined the parade but we were not able to see them all or I probably lost count.

There were 22 bands participants...

and 22 equestrian entries for that year's event.

Building Dreams, Friendships, and Memories was that year's parade's Theme.

Me and Carmen

The parade experience was just I expected. It was a nice sunny day with blue cloudless sky but a bit chilly. It was a wonderful experience and something to remember. And it was such a wonderful experience to share with two of the most beautiful roses - Carmen and Joey.

The 3 most beautiful Roses - Joey, Carmen and Me

We didn't finish the parade and we didn't even plan to go where all the floats will be parked to see them closer and for more photo shoots. We had a few more things in line for the day that we need to accomplish. This was only my 5th day in California so I need to accomplish as much as we could before - we get observed!
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ripley's Believe It or Not! for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!” books. Who doesn’t? It’s fun to read and to learn about unbelievable stories and strange things from around the world.

Ripley Publishing recently came out with its latest annual Ripley's Believe It or Not! Download the Weird book. And… are you ready for this? This all-new collection has a new twist – you can actually download the weird! How? Well, there’s an “App” for that! Yup, there is an App that allows hidden content in the book to Come Alive! And yes – it’s free! Just go to Ripleys.com and you can download the free App on iTunes and Android as a complementary accessory when you buy the new book from Amazon. How cool is that?

Wondering how does it work? Here’s how:

1. Simply point a smart phone or advanced iPod at the special oddSCAN™ logos in the book and see that story come to life with exclusive bonus content, including videos and images. It’s a one-stop portal that will transport readers deep into the hidden world of “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” like never before.
2. Ripley fans will be thrilled to see that this newest title in the best-selling series has all the qualities that Ripley’s is known for. Download the Weird is jam-packed with an incredible array of crazy facts, stories, lists and interviews.
• Meet the world’s oddest couple: he swallows swords, hedge trimmers and umbrella handles while she hangs upside down and lifts lead weights by her hair!
• Learn why a California man has experienced more than 950 violent car crashes.
• See tourists risk life and limb to get their picture taken with an 18-foot-long crocodile!

3. A special pullout section provides readers with weird Titanic facts; another features the incredible real-life story of the Elephant Man. A dramatic gatefold pullout features panoramic photos of the home of “Weird Steve,” where every room is crammed with thousands of strange curiosities—it’s impossible to look at just once! And this is just a small preview of the strange and unbelievable stories and photos within the book.

Thinking of a perfect gift for those loved ones whose curiosity and sense of exhilaration for everything odd is insatiable this Christmas season? Hurray, the search is over but you better act quickly because this book will surely jump off the shelf fast not just because of its brilliant contrasting colored cover with eye-catching holographic foil and lenticular but because… believe it or not – it is indeed the coolest book ever!
Today, I voted for the very first time - as a citizen of the United States of America.

Today... I made a difference as a NEW citizen of my adoptive country.

And today... I exercise my constitutional right as a citizen of my America.

It was a cloudless blue sky and I was in the mood for a drive and ended up in a farm in Lebanon, Maine.

Unaware of what is going on all over the world - it's the Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk 2012, I decided to do a Photo Walk at Belgian Meadows Farm. It was such a wonderful experience.

The sprawling lush farm.

These are just some of the hundreds of photos I took today that I want
to share for Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk 2012. Too bad they don't
qualify as contest entries since I did a photowalk all by myself.

One of the carriages scattered all over the farm.

It was
too late when I found out that there was indeed an organized photowalk
in Portland Head Light this morning to capture the lighthouse during
sunrise. But still even if I knew, I still can't do it because it is my race day today.

Pumpkins on the wagon.

Pumpkins all over the ground.

The biggest of them all.

So this post is just for "awareness" purposes. Or maybe for my own awareness since almost 35,000 plus photography enthusiasts allover the world knew about it but me. And even if I did a photowalk today, I had no clue that such photowalk was happening until my brother Japol told me about it.

Next year, I will surely joined the thousand photowalkers and be more prepared for it. Iwill make it sure too that I will sign up for it too. Wink***
I have never been an athlete. I wasn't an active kid when I was young. But when I moved to Maine, I became interested in races. I have been running races for more than a year now and I love it. I run outdoors for my training regardless of the season.

Last Sunday I left the house very early to go to Portland. I volunteered for the Maine Marathon and was assigned at the Food Tent. It was a soggy Sunday morning.

This is my second time to volunteer in a running event. I volunteered because I can't run any of the races because they were Relay, Full and Half Marathon races. I am only a 5K runner.

That day I sliced hundred of oranges...

and helped set up the food on the tables. I worked for 3 hours from 6AM to 9AM. It was such a wonderful event despite the rain.

I'm planning to do it again next year... if I am not running. WINK***

We only had 3 and half school days because Thursday was an early released day at the school where I work. And the following day was "the in-service training day" for the teachers. However, I still had to work because I have a second job. So no long weekend vacation for me. hayyy!

I thought I will be lucky to take the Friday off but with 55 kids signed up for the full-day care at Sanford, I had to drive 30 miles to go to work. Hayyy. I was hoping to have the Friday off so I will be able to do my regular chores and take Saturday as a special day to do the bathroom floor tiles. Well, help Hubby to fix the bathroom floor tiles, rather. wink**

Heavy traffic during rush hours to use the most popular spot in the house is starting to take a toll on the bathroom floor tiles. If it is any consolation to me, it's knowing where to get quality and reasonable ceramic tiles and yes, having a carpenter hubby to boot. So today, we did the bathroom flooring and it didn't take us long to fix it. Now I am ready to go for a run. wink*
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It officially “fall” and it means the sceneries are changing again. It means that the ground is starting to freeze and my vegetables will be dying soon. It means that my gardening days are over. Or is it? In this modern time and with modern technology, anything is possible. Even the changing season is no longer a hindrance to achieve anything especially when it comes to gardening.

I was browsing online the other day and came across with a cool website on gardening - Gardenieres. I was inspired right away because the website showcases real-life gardening enthusiasts and green thumbs led by William Moss, the master gardener who share their personal experiences on growing anything and everything. Though I am not that surprised because they all use Miracle-Gro which is what we use for our garden too.

Well, I’m not really into gardening to be honest with you. It was just only this year when I decided to go organic that I started to get involved in my Sweetest’s gardening. We grew our vegetable garden in black bags this year which I think is cool. So I think this is a very portable garden that we can bring inside our house and put them in the cellar so I can have my organic salad anytime come wintertime. Of course, everything will not be possible without the aid of Miracle-Gro®. And with the discovery of the Gardenieres, I will have more reasons to continue gardening this fall… even in winter!

Here are the reasons why Miracle-Gro® products are the best gardening product on the market right now and why my Sweetest is a big fan.
And here’s the thing, 'like' Miracle-Gro Facebook page so you can talk with fellow gardeners, share stories or simply get inspired.
A good addictive relaxation. But when "work" gets in the way, it's the first thing that take a backseat too.

Three weeks ago, I got a rare chance to go for a photo-walk. I heard from the radio that September 15th is the Open Lighthouse Day in Maine so I made a plan right a way. I spent the entire day at Fort Williams Park and just enjoyed the day.

And here are what I came up with.

The Lighthouse Tower

The Goddara Mansion

Walk way going to the Lighhouse

The top of the hill in the park where you can look down at the Light Keeper House.

The view deck on top of the hill over-looking the Portland Head Light.

The Portland Head Light

And though I ended up with a twisted foot for not paying attention on where I was stepping on, I was still happy walking around limping and with a smile on my face. It was such a wonderful day at the park... in my Maine.

Yes, it's officially "fall"! It is the time of the year where Maine will be dressed in shades of red, orange, yellow and brown.

... where the wind is crisp and chilly,

... and where the apple orchards smells yummy.

This is my favorite time of the year because the sceneries are amazingly changing and inspiring.

It is fall and I think I am falling in love with it all over again.
A new season... a new change... a whole new old thing to start over again... like reorganizing my wardrobe,
drawers, and turn the house upside down.

Oh yeah, it's
the time of the year where I need to pack my summer clothes in my summer
totes and bring out the fall totes to put the fall clothes into the newly emptied wardrobe. It's a
whole new old activities that I need to deal with for a couple of weeks
or so to keep my sanity in check.

This is the time of the year where I need to reorganize my old stuff and put into used the
not too old ones to save more money and stay sane.

It's time again for fall cleaning to give way to the forthcoming winter mess!

And yes, there is no other way to keep yourself from going nuts but to keep yourself busy with more household chores. ARGGGGG!

Well,
there is nothing I can do. If there is an app to change the craziness
that the changing season brings - bring it on. As for now, the only
things that this change of season brings to my worn-out senses are...

the beautiful sceneries...

the crisp smell of the orchards...

It was Maine's Open Lighthouse Day. This event is organized by the US Coast Guard, the American Lighthouse Foundation and the State of Maine which main objective is to increase awareness of Maine's maritime heritage.

Open Lighthouse Day is a once a year event [this is their 4th year] where all lighthouses in all of Maine is open to the public. During this time Historic buildings like... the Light Tower and the Light Keeper’s House which is now the Park's Museum is open to the public for free.

Approximately 300 tickets were made available to visitors on a
first-come-first-served basis to be able to climb the
tower which has 85+ steps and where you can get a 360 degrees view of the place.Too bad I didn't get the chance to get a free ticket handed out by the
US Coast Guard that day. It would be fun to see Cape Elizabeth and Casco Bay up the
tower.

The Portland Head Light sits on Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. It was named after Brevet Major General Seth Williams. It was once a tremendous military asset during World War
II. It served to protect Cape Elizabeth's shoreline and provided Harbor Defense for
Portland. The park was kinda crowded already when I got there but I was
surprised to immediately find a parking spot because the last thing I
want to do is drive around looking for parking.

This is a historical place because this is where I said "I DO" to my Sweetest. LOL Kidding aside, this is historical in every way since it was built more than 200 years ago and considered as the 2nd oldest lighthouse in the United States.

The Portland Head Light is commissioned by George Washington and was built in 1791. It is the oldest Lighthouse in the State of Maine.

Aside from visiting the Lighthouse and Light Keeper's House, there are lots of fun things to do at Fort Williams Park. It is a nice place to hike, run, bike, play soccer, tennis, baseball, frolic in the beach or swim in the inviting waters of Casco Bay or simply laze and enjoy the beautiful gardens and views. It is also the best place to celebrate birthdays or have weddings. And that means that - I will have a part two of this post. wink*** So wait for it.

My day at Cape Elizabeth ended with a nice run around the park. It was such a wonderful place to spend the time alone [for me] or with your family. I will surely be back and will bring some chicken to barbecue. Wink*

I came here in 2007 with only hopes and aspirations in my pocket. I
left behind my family, friends, work and brought nothing but a couple of
70 kilosluggage and - my faith. It didn't take long for me to
adjust to the weather, culture and lifestyle. Before long, I learned how
to live, breathe and think like a Mainer.

Last year, I
finally got my citizenship so I'm officially a Mainer. Though deep in
my heart I am still a Filipina and will always be. While the Philippines
is my true home - Maine is very much a part of me now. She is my
adoptive home and my home away from "home."

Since
Maine is my home now, I want to explore it and share all the exciting
things I discovered and will discover about it. I want to learn about it
and as I do... I'll try to post anything and everything about Maine. I
want to share my experiences for the world to know that I live in a
little piece of paradise up here in Down East [as we call it].

This
part of my blog will be called MAINE ATTRACTION and it will be a
regular weekly post. [Cross your fingers. LOL] Well, I'll try to post on
regular basis but no promises.wink* This is be published every 1st and
3rd Sundays of the month.

I know, it's already August and this is kinda late. I have good alibis for that.

1. I was away and on vacation in the Philippines.
2. Internet access was slow back home.
3. I was too busy catching up with family and friends whom I have not seen for 5 long years.

Yes, we celebrated our 5th Anniversary apart. I left Maine on the 26th of June and didn't come home till the 6th of August.

Yes, I left my Sweetest here in Maine. It was the very first time we have been apart that long [7 weeks] since we got married.

And yes, I missed him so much. I never thought I would feel homesick when in fact was - home.

Dearest Sweetest,

Belated Happy Anniversary my Sweetest. Thank you for the wonderful 5 years of being there for me. Thank you for the patience... the thoughtfulness... the sweetness.

Thank you for trying your best to do the things you hated because you know that they make me happy. Although there are times I feel that you are doing them just to shut me up. wink*

Thank you for keeping your cool when I am in my usual nagging mode because you know that there is no way you can win. Although there are times that you wished I was the same old woman you married who would just kept quiet in the middle of an argument and cry. Oh how you wish I have not learned how to open my mouth because when I did, I never shut up. LOL

Thank you for saying "sorry" even if most of the time, it was my fault. Although I know that it was very unlikely of you to say the "S" word before, but you were able to learn how to say it because you know it calms me down. You made me feel really special and loved. wink*

Thank you Sweetest for the 5 years. Let's work for the next 100 years, okay?

Love always,
My 7-week Philippines vacation was brief and short. I wasn't able to do all the things I need to do. And since I chose to come home during the typhoon season, it was mostly rainy and soggy. So i was basically spending time at home bonding with my brother's kids whom I miss so much.

Despite the unfavorable weather, my vacation is just as I thought - hectic, fun and enjoyable.

I had the chance to spend time with my brothers Gary and Japol [who took me to different places].

Bonded with my family...

Catch up with long-time friends...

and met-up with new friend.

Reconnected with colleagues....

And now that I'm back home from vacation, I think I need another vacation so I can recover from hang-over.

Hurricanes, Phone booths, and Facebook

I'm on vacation right now. After 5 years of being away from home. I finally got the chance to go back and visit my homeland. It was a little emotional but manageable. I was spared of all the drama due to some travel problems like flight cancellations, delays, phone booths, hurricanes, and facebook.

I supposed to leave on the 25th of June but my flight was delayed due to hurricane. Hubby brought me to the airport at about 9 am for my 12:45pm flight but it was delayed to 2:45pm due to hurricane. But since my connecting flight to Hong Kong was at 3:45pm from Newark Airport, I had to ask for a change of flight schedule for the next day because there is no way I can make it on time.

So there I was stuck in the airport just 18 miles away from home. The next problem occurred when I realized there are no longer "phone booths" anywhere in the airport. Yes, phone booth is now a thing of the past. It's already extinct! I left my phone in the truck and there is no way I could call hubby to ask me to pick me up. A couple of people offered to use their phones but Hubby left his phone in the truck too. So there was no way to contact him or get hold of him until he got hold of his phone. hayyyy

Good thing I had my kindle fire with me and the only thing I can do is to go on facebook to shout "help" as my status on the wall. Soon enough help came. But I was already home cozily tucked in in bed when Hubby got the messages from different people I came across at FB who knew that I was stuck in the airport.

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
