Jesus, I rejoice in You as this new day unfolds. This is the day that You have made and I choose to rejoice and be glad in it. I have assurance today that Your way is perfect and Your timing is flawless. Your ways are higher than any other and Your wisdom far exceeds that of man. You are a shield for all who come to You for refuge, for You will arm me with strength and You will perfect my ways. You make my feet like the feet of a deer and enable me to stand on the heights. You give me Your shield of victory and sustain me by Your right hand. Therefore I rejoice in You and praise You Jesus, as You show Your unfailing love and kindness to me on this blessed day. Amen.

Father, when our earthly fathers discipline us, it is intended for immediate correction and future application. At the time it is painful and a humiliation of sorts. And with You, Father, Your discipline is not pleasant at the time but painful, yet it transforms our thinking, shapes our values, and adapts our behavior so that we become more and more like Christ. May faithfulness, self-control, endurance, patience and character traits be evidenced in our lives as we undergo discipline and training in righteousness so that we share in Your holiness. We pray for Your work to be done in our lives because we know that “later on it will produce a harvest of righteousness and peace”. Amen.

Father, we pray that You would turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers. Discipline and harmony in the family makes for a good home, a good neighborhood, a welcoming community and a much better world in which children are raised. We pray for Christian fathers to assume their given role and raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ in whose name we pray. Amen.

Father, times of refreshing and gladness of heart are present when we share with each other: whether it’s food, warm conversation, working together or sharing one another’s burdens. When we are in unity we become one in purpose and accomplish great things for Your kingdom. We want to be obedient to the teachings of the apostles, enjoy regular fellowship with one another and also faithfully pray for each other so that we are the kind of church that pleases You and is effective in our community. As we seek to reach others for Your kingdom help us to carve out time to invite others to dine at our table so that we have opportunity not only to share tasty food for the body but also satisfying food for the soul. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Father, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path giving direction where I would otherwise be led astray. Help me to daily remember that You do the leading and I do the following, since You know all things including the past, present and future. In Your infinite knowledge and wisdom You watch over me when I’m perplexed and remind me, “Do not be dismayed for I am your God”. You are our God, You know all things, You will strengthen and uphold us by Your righteous right hand. Infinite God, in Your masterful plan, You care about our every need, for which we are very thankful. Amen.

Father, we do extol Your work and praise You with our lips, our voice and our devotion to follow You all the days of our life. We stop and consider Your great wonders and mighty works as we acknowledge You to be the Creator of all things. Your ways are perfect and beyond human understanding. It is all the more reason why we must rely on Your guidance and not lean on our finite or limited understanding. Today we acknowledge You in all our ways and ask You to direct our paths and increase our understanding in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Jesus, our load becomes lighter as we consider that ongoing toil and labor of this life is only for a season. The daily struggle of meeting deadlines, employee relations, putting out fires, pleasing customers and bosses can be overwhelming and very stressful, let alone duties awaiting us at home such as the growing pile of dirty clothes, stack of dishes to be washed, lawn to be mowed. Some of these recurring irritants will not go away in our life’s work. May the sufficient grace of Your Holy Spirit grant us an enduring and victorious attitude even in the midst of these toilsome labors. Remind us that Your blessings far outnumber the troubles of this day and that divine rest is promised to those who are faithful to the end. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Father, You have given me many treasures that cannot be bought with money and friendship is among them. Thank You for my caring friends who love me and don’t give up on me even when I feel like giving up on myself. For that dear friend who comes alongside me and helps carry the burdens that I bear, I am especially thankful. My life is enriched and my spirit is refreshed as I share my heart with a close friend who does not judge but looks beyond my shortcomings; who prays for me and expresses love for me in ways that build me up and strengthen me in the trials of life. Father, You are the greatest and most trusting Friend that I will ever know. Help me to draw near to You so that You draw near to me. Amen.

On the altar I lay all I am today and ask You to use me, Lord, use me anywhere at all. Though my place be great or small I will fill it gladly. Use my life, be it poor or grand, to glorify You and to build up Your kingdom in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
