<p>Spring is in full bloom around here and it makes me want to change things up a little. I love adding crisp whites, greens and turquoise shades in our house during the spring months. What colors do you like to incorporate during the warm months? This month&#8217;s fresh picks is coming at you with a bunch of things we recently added to our home&#8230;</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s the list &amp; details&#8230;</p>
<p>1/ <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70186603/" target="_blank">Greenhouse</a>&#8230; I picked up one similar to this from TJMaxx a few weeks ago for our front entry table. I like the idea of adding succulents inside for the spring and maybe sand and shells for the summer months.</p>
<p>2/ <a href="http://www.kirklands.com/product/Wall-Decor/Wall-Plaques/Wooden-Starburst-Wall-Plaque/pc/2283/c/0/sc/2668/167271.uts" target="_blank">Wooden Sunburst</a>&#8230; I literally ran into this beauty at a Kirkland&#8217;s stop with my mom. My leg hit it and I immediately grabbed her up and hauled her to the front desk, pulled out my designer discount card and made the purchase. It was a must have for me. I have big plans for it once I narrow down the best location for it. We just have a few things in the air before I nailed it down.</p>
<p>3/ <a href="http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=113275&amp;RN=806&amp;" target="_blank">Wooden Pineapple Server</a>&#8230; I picked up this same pineapple at Goodwill months ago. I just recently pulled it out of a cabinet and it&#8217;s resting on our guest room nightstand now. It&#8217;s perfect for jewelry or odds and ends.</p>
<p>4/ <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-indoor-outdoor-area-rug-green/-/A-14560503#prodSlot=medium_1_3" target="_blank">Green Rug</a>&#8230; I love the idea of adding green to our home for the spring. The shade goes perfectly with the whites, tans, &amp; aqua hues we already have everywhere. I especially like the idea of an indoor/outdoor rug for durability and cleaning reasons. I haven&#8217;t made the purchase yet, like I said we have a few things we are figuring out first&#8230;</p>
<p>5/ <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-ceramic-decorative-storage-box-white/-/A-14465524#prodSlot=medium_1_1&amp;term=ceramic+box" target="_blank">Ceramic Bee Box</a>&#8230; I love, love this. I have a cute ceramic butterfly and  neat wooden &amp; metal bumble bee sitting on our entry shelving for the spring. I thought this &#8220;bee box&#8221; would be a cute addition to the small collection. I spotted it on a Target run like 2 months ago maybe and it made it&#8217;s way right into the cart. Maybe I will do a spring tour and show you a few of those additions&#8230;</p>
<p>6/ <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40159173/" target="_blank">Turqouise Towels</a>&#8230; I ran through Ikea with a friend a few weeks back and grabbed up two of these towels for our master bathroom. They are really neat because they have a fabric tab on the side for hanging up on hooks&#8230; they are quite perfect. I think I may need to add these to all of our towels&#8230; maybe a DIY project in the making?!!</p>
<p>7/ <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Mills-Floral-Boxwood-Square-Wreath/dp/B0051UTLH2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1367441029&amp;sr=8-7&amp;keywords=boxwood+wreath" target="_blank">Boxwood Wreath</a>&#8230; Some love box-woods for the holidays, I think they lend themselves to spring decor quite nicely. Add a few stick on butterflies or fabric birds and place it on an interior door. Cute. Very cute.</p>

<p>Note&#8230; As you may have read over the last few weeks, I have been a little MIA from the blog. I am coming back to post more regularly&#8230; I do promise. Family is super important to me and we have had a ton of things going on&#8230; grandparents being sick, a family dog passing away and a few things up in the air around here that have taken much of my attention &amp; excitement. I will hopefully be sharing more on the last bit soon&#8230; Until then, thanks for being so loyal and sweet to come back and read my blog. Xoxo</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Happy Monday! Hopefully everyone had a great weekend! Ours wasn&#8217;t too productive around the house, but we did have a great weekend with friends! Sometimes it&#8217;s nice to put the ever-growing to-do list to the side and have some fun! I have a fun week of blog posts ahead&#8230; let&#8217;s begin with a round-up of ten fabulous ottomans!</p>
<p>Kevin and I are on the hunt for a new sofa &amp; ottoman. We really like the idea of a large rectangular ottoman, but then at times we think two small ottomans might be a great idea so we can move them around as needed. On my search for the perfect ottoman, I came across ten ottomans that I thought were share-worthy (note&#8211; we haven&#8217;t truly narrowed down any contenders&#8212; first we need a sofa&#8230; these are just a few I spotted and thought were fun)! Remember the <a href="http://adesignstory.com/e-design-rustic-fun/" target="_blank">Rustic &amp; Fun Living Room</a> I designed for Jake &amp; Aubrey? Just in case you missed that post, click <a href="http://adesignstory.com/e-design-rustic-fun/" target="_blank">here</a>. Anyways, I was thrilled to get an email a few weeks back from them saying how much they loved how their living room was coming together after following the design board &amp; ideas I presented to them. It’s always nice to hear positive feedback, don’t you think?! I was excited to hear that they needed a few suggestions for their kitchen. Here’s that portion of the email…</p>
<p><em>….. “Lindsay, we are really enjoying the color scheme you selected for our living room. It’s so us! We have also finally purchased the last item off the design board… so now everything you suggested is in the room and we are in love. It’s really become a place we love to be in and have parties in. But, we need your help, again! Since the kitchen is directly off the living room, we want to keep the same color scheme and add hints of vintage-rustic design elements into the space. We need curtains for the long windows, a few accessory ideas, some kind of interesting rustic movable island, a rug and a lighting fixture. We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Thanks, Jake &amp; Aubrey!”</em></p>
<p>It’s always a pleasure to have repeat clients that come back for more design help. I absolutely love to help people achieve the look that’s right for them in their home. Your home should be a reflection of what you love, colors that make you feel good &amp; furniture that suits your tastes! I pulled together a really fun &amp; rustic kitchen for Jake &amp; Aubrey. Let me show you…</p>

<p><strong>Here’s the breakdown:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. The Color Pallet:</strong> Keeping with the wall color you guys had already painted the living room and kitchen (SW Snowbound), we’ll continue with the same great color scheme to unite the two spaces. Creating a good flow within spaces that are openly joined together is important for a successful design scheme.</p>
<p><strong>2. <a href="http://www.shadesoflight.com/young-house-love-large-wire-globe-lantern-7-colors.html" target="_blank">Globe Lantern: </a></strong>I love the idea of adding a fun globe lantern to the kitchen. It’s open so you can see the light-bulb, which makes it feel a little vintage. It will sit right above the new island and center the space.</p>
<p><strong>3. <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-ceramic-wall-clock-sea-going/-/A-14345842#prodSlot=medium_1_41" target="_blank">Plate Clock:</a></strong> Add vintage elements in small doses around the space for added personality. Since you don’t have much wall space, add this wall clock and pair it with a few framed prints for a fresh, vintage feel. If you have access to vintage wallpaper samples, you can frame a few of those and add those to the wall as well. Pattern is a big element when you are trying to incorporate rustic and vintage design styles. Don’t be afraid to mix &amp; match!</p>
<p><strong>4. <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-paisley-window-panel/-/A-14370530#prodSlot=medium_1_14" target="_blank">Yellow Paisley Curtains:</a></strong> Your kitchen windows are <a title="on the side" href="http://adesignstory.com/on-the-side/">on the side</a> farthest from the living room. Yellow tends to brighten up a kitchen in ways that other colors can’t do. I say stick with the yellow color scheme when it comes to the drapery. Without anything in it, your kitchen tends to be darker with the warmer finishes that are in it (dark cabinets, mocha colored granite &amp; dark wood flooring)… let’s brighten it up a bit!</p>
<p><strong>5. <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/embossed-cream-and-sugar/s411127" target="_blank">Sugar &amp; Creamer Set: </a></strong>Nothing says vintage more than these little guys. Add these to your coffee section of the kitchen… make a coffee station by adding a tray next to your coffee maker… Add the creamer and sugar dishes, a cute tin full of extra spoons, a tea towel &amp; extra coffee in a canister. It’s one of the best things I did in our kitchen… it works well when it’s just us and it’s even better when we have guests over!</p>
<p><strong>6. <a href="http://www.worldmarket.com/product/jackson-kitchen-cart.do?&amp;from=fn" target="_blank">Island:</a></strong> Movable islands are a great way to add extra counter space to a kitchen, while also giving you freedom to clear it out and make room for parties, etc. I selected this rustic island for the kitchen because it’s pretty skinny and long, making it the perfect size for the space. It has rustic elements and will go seamlessly from one room to another should you need it for serving, etc. Add some baskets to the bottom for kitchen storage and a tea towel on the end!</p>
<p><strong>7. <a href="http://www.dashandalbert.com/product/view/tortola-ticking-woven-cotton-rug--RDA029" target="_blank">Striped Rug:</a></strong> This is a great rug for the space, not only does it incorporate our color scheme in a big way, it’s very easy to clean! It’s a pretty light weight rug, which is great for durability in a kitchen setting. Add this below the island to ground the space… keep in mind it’s big enough to cover the middle of your kitchen!</p>
<p><strong>8. Linens:</strong> Add bright colored and bold patterned linens (<a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-grommet-spoon-oven-mitt-set-of-2-shell-teal/-/A-14321087#prodSlot=medium_3_11" target="_blank">oven mitts</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/sicilian-lemon-dishtowel/s621122" target="_blank">tea towel</a>) to the space. Hang them off the island or the oven and near the sink for added pops of color and personality.</p>
<p><strong>9. <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/acacia-utensil-holder/s613502" target="_blank">Utensil Holder:</a></strong> Go rustic with this wooden utensil holder. It will blend in with the rustic vibe and add another wooden element to the counter.</p>
<p><strong>10. <a href="http://www.worldmarket.com/product/yellow+floral+canister+with+wood+lid.do?&amp;from=fn" target="_blank">Canister:</a></strong> I love, love, love these vintage inspired canisters. They carry them in yellow, aqua and reddish-orange. Go and grab a few of these!! They will look great on the counter &amp; serve for extra storage for items you use on an everyday basis… (cereal, sugar, flour, cookies… etc.)</p>

What about you? In addition to cleaning the ol&#8217; closet, I am cleaning the blog too! In an effort to get my website organized and ready for some <em>big</em> changes, blog posts are going to become more frequent. The Color Pallet:</strong> Keeping with the wall color you guys had already painted the living room and kitchen (SW Snowbound), we&#8217;ll continue with the same great color scheme to unite the two spaces. Creating a good flow within spaces that are openly joined together is important for a successful design scheme.</p>
<p><strong>2. <a href="http://www.shadesoflight.com/young-house-love-large-wire-globe-lantern-7-colors.html" target="_blank">Globe Lantern: </a></strong>I love the idea of adding a fun globe lantern to the kitchen. It&#8217;s open so you can see the light-bulb, which makes it feel a little vintage. It will sit right above the new island and center the space.</p>
<p><strong>3. <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-ceramic-wall-clock-sea-going/-/A-14345842#prodSlot=medium_1_41" target="_blank">Plate Clock:</a></strong> Add vintage elements in small doses around the space for added personality. Since you don&#8217;t have much wall space, add this wall clock and pair it with a few framed prints for a fresh, vintage feel. If you have access to vintage wallpaper samples, you can frame a few of those and add those to the wall as well. Pattern is a big element when you are trying to incorporate rustic and vintage design styles. Don&#8217;t be afraid to mix &amp; match!</p>
<p><strong>4. <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-paisley-window-panel/-/A-14370530#prodSlot=medium_1_14" target="_blank">Yellow Paisley Curtains:</a></strong> Your kitchen windows are on the side farthest from the living room. Yellow tends to brighten up a kitchen in ways that other colors can&#8217;t do. I say stick with the yellow color scheme when it comes to the drapery. Without anything in it, your kitchen tends to be darker with the warmer finishes that are in it (dark cabinets, mocha colored granite &amp; dark wood flooring)&#8230; let&#8217;s brighten it up a bit!</p>
<p><strong>5. <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/embossed-cream-and-sugar/s411127" target="_blank">Sugar &amp; Creamer Set: </a></strong>Nothing says vintage more than these little guys. Add these to your coffee section of the kitchen&#8230; make a coffee station by adding a tray next to your coffee maker&#8230; Add the creamer and sugar dishes, a cute tin full of extra spoons, a tea towel &amp; extra coffee in a canister. It&#8217;s one of the best things I did in our kitchen&#8230; it works well when it&#8217;s just us and it&#8217;s even better when we have guests over!</p>
<p><strong>6. <a href="http://www.worldmarket.com/product/jackson-kitchen-cart.do?&amp;from=fn" target="_blank">Island:</a></strong> Movable islands are a great way to add extra counter space to a kitchen, while also giving you freedom to clear it out and make room for parties, etc. I selected this rustic island for the kitchen because it&#8217;s pretty skinny and long, making it the perfect size for the space. It has rustic elements and will go seamlessly from one room to another should you need it for serving, etc. Add some baskets to the bottom for kitchen storage and a tea towel on the end!</p>
<p><strong>7. <a href="http://www.dashandalbert.com/product/view/tortola-ticking-woven-cotton-rug--RDA029" target="_blank">Striped Rug:</a></strong> This is a great rug for the space, not only does it incorporate our color scheme in a big way, it&#8217;s very easy to clean! It&#8217;s a pretty light weight rug, which is great for durability in a kitchen setting. Add this below the island to ground the space&#8230; keep in mind it&#8217;s big enough to cover the middle of your kitchen!</p>
<p><strong>8. Linens:</strong> Add bright colored and bold patterned linens (<a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-grommet-spoon-oven-mitt-set-of-2-shell-teal/-/A-14321087#prodSlot=medium_3_11" target="_blank">oven mitts</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/sicilian-lemon-dishtowel/s621122" target="_blank">tea towel</a>) to the space. Hang them off the island or the oven and near the sink for added pops of color and personality.</p>
<p><strong>9. <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/acacia-utensil-holder/s613502" target="_blank">Utensil Holder:</a></strong> Go rustic with this wooden utensil holder. It will blend in with the rustic vibe and add another wooden element to the counter.</p>
<p><strong>10. <a href="http://www.worldmarket.com/product/yellow+floral+canister+with+wood+lid.do?&amp;from=fn" target="_blank">Canister:</a></strong> I love, love, love these vintage inspired canisters. They carry them in yellow, aqua and reddish-orange. Go and grab a few of these!! They will look great on the counter &amp; serve for extra storage for items you use on an everyday basis&#8230; (cereal, sugar, flour, cookies&#8230; etc.)</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I had the pleasure of working on a new living room design for Jake and Aubrey. They have been married for around 1 year and just recently purchased their own home. Here’s their email:</p>
<p><em>“Hi, Lindsay! We are so eager and excited to start working with you on the design of our living room. We are starting from scratch in pretty much every room except our bedroom, so the slate is clean! We both love brown, turquoise, white, but we want to add some other colors in there. We like reds, yellows, turquoise, aqua, orange &amp; green (not necessarily all at once). We want this space to be fun &amp; inviting… a place we can hang out, entertain friends &amp; family and also enjoy ourselves. I (blank) want a “trendy” room filled with bold pops of color and blank is really into rustic spaces. We would love to have a design we could add to ourselves… kind of like you build the foundation and we can add our own art, personal pictures and even some more accessories. The one thing we must tell you— we have replaced the laminate flooring with dark rustic wood flooring and we have also replaced the ceiling fan with one that’s a little more us (here’s the new ceiling fan). We really want to get away from the look the previous owners were shooting for… we love the beams so they are staying too! We picked out our paint color already for this space… its Sherwin Williams 7004 Snowbound. We do have a fun collection of books we would like to incorporate on the shelves in the built-ins, but we wouldn’t mind another area to display small items &amp; accessories. <p>Here’s the design I came up with…</p>

<p>Here’s the breakdown:</p>
<p><strong>1. The Color Pallet:</strong> I love that you picked SW Snowbound for the walls; it’s a great warm white. Creating a fun room with bold pops of color requires a nice neutral “canvas” as a foundation. We are going to add a quirky color combo of putty, teal, yellow &amp; dark brown to create a fun &amp; whimsical look. These colors work well with one another, but can also be paired with red, orange or green.</p>
<p><strong>2. <a href="http://www.cb2.com/sift-raw-wall-shelf/s680161" target="_blank">Shelf</a></strong>: I love the you already have built-in shelving around your TV—it’s a great place to display books, travel souvenirs or picture frames. Let’s add this industrial wall shelf above your sofa on the back wall. Pair it with a fun industrial letter &amp; a few frames for an updated gallery look.</p>
<p><strong>3. <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90147465/" target="_blank">Maskros Chandelier</a></strong>: I love, love this chandelier! It’s modern, whimsical &amp; crisp. Add this to the back corner above the chair (below) for extra lighting &amp; a fun focal piece. It will cast a great shadow on the gallery wall (mentioned above &amp; below). Hang it level with the gallery wall.</p>
<p><strong>4. </strong><strong><a href="http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=19501188&amp;parentid=A_DECORATE" target="_blank">Deer Head</a></strong>: I think this weathered iron deer head is a great addition to the gallery wall above the sofa. It’s the perfect mix of modern + rustic. It’s an unexpected element that goes perfect with our rustic &amp; fun theme. Plus, these are on the super trendy list. (I kinda want this myself!)</p>
<p><strong>5.</strong> <strong><a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-curtains/083181.jsp" target="_blank">Blossom Curtains</a></strong>: Since the walls are a nice warm white &amp; we have a lot of solid hues, let’s punch up the windows &amp; glass doors with these patterned curtains. The yellow is unexpected and the pattern is bold &amp; eclectic. Hang them above 6” above the window &amp; doors since you have tall ceilings… hanging them this way adds extra height &amp; draws your eye up… in your case to your beams.</p>
<p><strong>6. <a href="http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=19327&amp;catalog=filter&amp;menuCatalog=room&amp;menuCategory=201&amp;menuSubcategory=198" target="_blank">Sofa</a></strong>: I always recommend going neutral with your sofa. Bring in color, pattern &amp; texture through pillows, throws, lamps, rugs &amp; etc. It’s like having a black dress in your closet—you can dress it up or down &amp; pair it with all kinds of great colors! This one has classic lines &amp; great wooden legs. Place it close to the back wall in the center.</p>
<p><strong>7. <a href="http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=19175&amp;catalog=filter&amp;menuCatalog=room&amp;menuCategory=201&amp;menuSubcategory=206" target="_blank">Chair &amp; Ottoman</a></strong>: Every living room deserves a comfy chair &amp; ottoman. I adore this teal one… it’s perfect for the corner of the room below the fun chandelier. It brings in some color &amp; texture, while echoing the clean lines the sofa offers.</p>
<p><strong>8. <a href="http://www.cb2.com/stout-coffee-table/s401865" target="_blank">Coffee Table</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.westelm.com/products/natural-tree-stump-side-table-f655/?pkey=ccoffee-side-tables" target="_blank">Stump Side Table</a></strong>: I love the idea of a round coffee table for your space, especially since you like to entertain. In a room full of straight lined furniture, round coffee tables pull your room in &amp; create a great gathering space. This one features a warm wood finish &amp; the legs mimic the sofa &amp; chair. (Remember, the key to a successful design is repetition, repetition, repetition.) In addition to this table, place this stump side table beside the sofa &amp; the chair (closer to the chair). It’s the perfect match for our rustic theme!</p>
<p><strong>9.</strong> <strong><a href="http://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/bombay-rugs-contemporary-handmade-wool/mocha/D1233320-508.html" target="_blank">Rug</a></strong>: Simply put, rugs ground any space or room. I selected this solid dark brown wool rug for the space… it goes perfectly with your new rustic flooring and will bring a comfy element to the space. Go with the 8×10 size… it will fit your space the best!</p>
<p><strong>10. Decorative Pillows &amp; <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-pillows/25531104.jsp" target="_blank">Throw</a></strong>: Add a bunch of fun throw pillows on your sofa &amp; chair. They bring in texture &amp; color. I love, love, love the furry <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/pelliccia-18-sq.-pillow/s431373" target="_blank">Mongolian pillow</a>, it brings the rustic element in once again! Bring in the <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/noah-16-pillow/s286419" target="_blank">yellow shag pillow</a>, these <a href="http://www.cb2.com/leisure-carbon-23-pillow/f7749" target="_blank">brown velvet pillows</a> &amp; the <a href="http://www.target.com/p/home-dk-blue-home-linen-suede-dark-blue/-/A-13849944" target="_blank">teal throw pillows</a> for extra color &amp; comfort. In addition, the yellow throw blanket from Anthropologie is adorable!!</p>
<p><strong>11. Accessories: </strong>I love the industrial bins that are everywhere these days. They are the perfect blend of vintage &amp; industrial. This <a href="http://www.crateandbarrel.com/grid-umbrella-stand/f45000" target="_blank">umbrella stand</a> is perfect for puppy toys, extra blankets &amp; storage. As far as accessories go, I left the majority of them to you guys—these are the finishing pieces in a room that make a space “yours”. I did add a fantastic <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-stoneware-cookie-jar-with-squirrel-lid-red-97-oz/-/A-14153236" target="_blank">reddish squirrel canister</a> (from Target) to your coffee table &amp; an <a href="http://www.zgallerie.com/p-12482-zig-zag-frame-aquamarine.aspx" target="_blank">aqua chevron picture frame</a>.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Happy April! Spring is here in full force! It was a beautiful Easter weekend&#8230; how was yours? Since it&#8217;s the 1st, it&#8217;s time for the good ol&#8217; Fresh Picks post where I get to dish about some of my most favorite recent finds. It&#8217;s one of my favorite blog posts to conjure up&#8230;</p>
<p>Before we get started, let&#8217;s take care of a little <del>housekeeping</del> blogkeeping. In case you haven&#8217;t noticed&#8230; the blog hasn&#8217;t been updated as frequently as I intended. I have a great new blog plan and a bunch of fresh ideas that have been waiting to unveil themselves. Sometimes when we think we have a plan, something comes along to push our plan to the side for just a bit. My grandparents (on my momma&#8217;s side) have been ill and we all have been doing our part to help out. So, the house projects that needed to be finished just sat there , the loads of to-do&#8217;s piled high and yet&#8230; I was ok with that. Actually, I am still ok with that. The blog is my passion, but my family is my love. So, here&#8217;s to starting over (again) and trying this (again) now that things may slow down a bit it seems!</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s the list&#8230;</p>
<p>1/ How cute is this <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-ceramic-wall-clock-sea-going/-/A-14345842#prodSlot=medium_3_59" target="_blank">ceramic plate clock</a> from the newest Target Threshold collection? I seriously LOVE it. I haven&#8217;t seen it in the store yet, but it may find my way right into the cart once I see it. Wouldn&#8217;t it be just adorable on a kitchen wall?</p>
<p>2/ Another reason March&#8217;s blog posts ran a bit on the low side is because I was busy taking the <a href="http://decor8blog.com/ecourses/" target="_blank">Decor8 Blog Boss</a> class online. It really inspired me in ways I can&#8217;t even explain yet. I had a ton of &#8220;homework&#8221; to whip up and it really got the creative juices and ideas flowing&#8230; so there will be some BIG changes coming.</p>
<p>3/ I love a good spring/summer perfume. I am a big fan of girly/flirty scents for the warmer months. I recently picked up the new Betsey Johnson perfume, <a href="http://http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod4980001&amp;skuId=2255266" target="_blank">Too Too Pretty</a>, and it&#8217;s FABULOUS. Simply, fabulous.</p>
<p>4/ It&#8217;s no secret I am a sharpie lover. I have been since I can remember&#8230; &amp; going to art school only made me more obsessed. Well, Kevin and I recently bought a new car and when we were signing on the dotted line the gal had this fabulous highlighter. It doesn&#8217;t bleed through the paper and it&#8217;s really just plain fun. I had to have them for Kevin and I&#8230; the <a href="http://www.sharpie.com/enUS/Pages/gel-highlighter.aspx" target="_blank">Sharpie Gel Highlighter</a> is AWESOME.</p>
<p>5/ I have been on the hunt for some super cute fabric for a chair re-do my brother and I have been working on. On my hunt for fabric, I fell in love with this <a href="https://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=80b5418a-2ce5-4278-8a37-a510998ec957" target="_blank">umbrella motif</a>&#8230; how cute! I ordered 5 different fabrics, including this one, for some upcoming projects&#8230; I can&#8217;t wait to get them so I can decide which one I want to use for the chair cushion!</p>
<p>6/ Who doesn&#8217;t love an aqua rocker? Ok, well I love an aqua rocker anyways. Now that it&#8217;s spring, I feel like planting new flowers in our pots and sprucing up our porches just a bit. I like the idea of this <a href="http://www.cb2.com/all-new/new/beulah-rocking-chair/f8371" target="_blank">aqua rocker</a> for the porch just off our master bedroom. We&#8217;ll see if the Mr. goes for it.</p>
<p>7/ Washi Tape. If you don&#8217;t know about all glorious-ness of washi tape yet, you need to catch up. You can use it for so many fun things around the house. I absolutely adore it. I found this fun pack of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008SHTMEW/ref=as_li_ss_il?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B008SHTMEW&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=adesignstoryc-20" target="_blank">washi tape</a> the other day and thought it would be the perfect collection for spring!</p>
<p>8/ Target has really outdone themselves lately&#8230; I seriously can&#8217;t go in without buying something or somethings. It&#8217;s really a sickness people. At any rate, In an effort to bring in more metallic finishes into our living &amp; dining room, I am debating on the idea of bringing in this <a href="http://www.target.com/p/threshold-153-galvanized-decorative-ball/-/A-14497471#prodSlot=medium_1_14" target="_blank">galvanized decorative ball</a> for some added texture. It feels nautical to me&#8230; which is what draws me to seriously consider it!</p>
<p>9/ Like I mentioned above, planting new flowers is always something I look forward to during spring. There&#8217;s something so sweet about sitting in the sun with your hands in some soil and watching the flowers bloom after your hard work. I love it. I have added a few pots to my collection over the last few weeks. I haven&#8217;t taken the plunge yet, but I do really like this <a href="http://www.joann.com/summer-inspirations-31-metal-bicycle-planter/zprd_12076220a/" target="_blank">bicycle pot holder</a> for our front porch. What do you think? It&#8217;s really cute&#8230; right?!!</p>

Spring is actually my favorite season for many reasons&#8230; I adore the cute spring dresses and sandals, I enjoy cleaning out our house and bringing in some fun and bright colors! Don&#8217;t you? Spring is all about rebirth and I really try to have fun with that every year!</p>

It had been sitting in her garage for a long time! It&#8217;s nothing much to look at now, but we have huge plans for this old thing&#8230;</p>
<p>We already started the process&#8230; It&#8217;s going to be fabulous when it&#8217;s all done! You can&#8217;t tell from this cell phone photo, but isn&#8217;t she a beauty?</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We&#8217;re tackling <a href="http://adesignstory.com/bring-on-the-to-do-list/" target="_blank">our home to-do list</a> one day at a time. We don&#8217;t always &#8220;finish&#8221; a room before we jump in on the next, it&#8217;s just the way it is, but we always have fun! The dining room is the space we are currently revamping&#8230; it really needed a pick me up!</p>
<p>We bought a table from Target on clearance a long time ago for our dining space and it was just not us. It only seated four and it really wasn&#8217;t so sturdy. We kept it for quite sometime because the space is so small, we just never found anything that ticked our fancy! I am actually glad we kept it as long as we did&#8230; our style has really developed and now we know what we really love&#8230; let me show you&#8230;</p>
<p>The full home to-d0 check list is <a href="http://adesignstory.com/bring-on-the-to-do-list/" target="_blank">here</a>&#8230; but just to refresh our memories, here&#8217;s the dining room&#8217;s items&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>1.</strong> New Dining Table &amp; Chairs&#8230; I wanted something that could really accommodate 4-6 people. We were originally going to keep the chairs we had an add two chairs at the ends when needed&#8230;. we nixed the idea quickly.</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> Dining Room Hutch&#8230; we received an old wooden dining room hutch from a previous client of Kevin&#8217;s who knows how much I love diy projects. It was love at first sight. Ok, not really, but there is so much potential &amp; I can&#8217;t wait to get started!</p>
<p><strong>3.</strong> New Light Fixture&#8230; we are looking for something modern &amp; rustic. We want something that really showcases the space.</p>
<p><strong>4.</strong> Floral Arrangement&#8230; something pretty to use as a centerpiece.</p>
<p>I am going to show you all the transformations as they occur&#8230; so here&#8217;s a quick mood board design I came up with to keep us in the right design direction while we are putting the space all together!</p>

<p><strong>Here&#8217;s an explanation..</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. Color Scheme&#8230;</strong> We&#8217;re going to keep with the same color scheme as the kitchen&#8230; you can see that design concept <a href="http://adesignstory.com/tackling-the-kitchen/" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p><strong>2. Lighting&#8230;</strong> we haven&#8217;t selected the exact light that we have totally fallen for. I kinda waiting until we get a few more elements in there before we make the final selection. I actually have about 5 that we have narrowed it down to. Here&#8217;s just <a href="http://www.ballarddesigns.com/orb-chandelier/lighting/chandeliers/210691?defattrib=&amp;defattribvalue=&amp;listIndex=0" target="_blank">one</a> of the five&#8230; I will show you all of them soon!</p>
<p><strong>3. Dining Hutch&#8230;</strong> This <a href="http://www.mainecottage.com/small-island-buffet---hutch.html#" target="_blank">hutch</a> is just an idea of color (not the style) for the dining hutch we are in the midst of re-vamping. Get excited&#8230; the before pictures &amp; total design idea is coming up on the blog Friday!</p>
<p>4<strong>. Botanical&#8230;</strong> I wanted something really fun &amp; spring-y on the table&#8230; this <a href="http://www.target.com/p/green-poms-table-arrangement/-/A-14243906#prodSlot=medium_5_26" target="_blank">cute green blossom</a> may just work!</p>
<p><strong>5. &amp; 6 Table &amp; Chairs.</strong> We already made the jump &amp; purchased this <a href="http://www.worldmarket.com/product/jackson-rectangular-table-with-metal-base.do?&amp;from=Search" target="_blank">table</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.worldmarket.com/product/jackson-metal-tub-chair.do?&amp;from=Search" target="_blank">chair </a>set after weeks of pulling these up on the ipad every night. I absolutely am in love and thrilled that we saved a bunch of money with sales &amp; coupons! It was worth the drive to North Fort Myers with my sister &amp; her two girls asking if we were there yet the entire time!</p>
<p><strong>7. Accessories&#8230;</strong> Every dining hutch needs some cute accessories, right?! I am going to use some of what I already have and maybe grab up a few more accessories like this <a href="http://www.target.com/p/blue-square-vase-6-9-height/-/A-14258186#prodSlot=medium_1_45" target="_blank">turquoise vase</a>, <a href="http://www.target.com/p/nate-berkus-for-target-urchin-4-white/-/A-14146585#prodSlot=medium_1_1" target="_blank">white urchin</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.target.com/p/three-hands-coral-leaf-5x7-frame/-/A-14250290#prodSlot=medium_1_19&amp;term=coral" target="_blank">coral frame</a>. Accessorizing is always the best part!</p>
