When we are young we don’t even think about it; it is something that happens to other people and most certainly not to ourselves. As we approach early middle age we are certainly more aware of it but can usually manage to ignore it for the best part, but as we reach our later middle age, there is no denying the fact that old age is looming just around the corner.

This milestone is often thought of as something terrible, a period of life where we suffer ill health and lack energy as our world closes in around us, isolating us from our friends and sometimes even our families.
Of course, there are those who refuse to give in at all and suddenly find a new lease of life bungee jumping or falling from planes but for most of us this isn’t a desirable route and we simply want a better quality of life than the one that we fear.

You may have heard the saying that old age is simply a state of mind. This is absolutely true although it is important too to accept the reality that our bodies will certainly not be as strong as they once were so it is also important to adapt any lifestyle changes to our bodies and ensure that we get enough rest too.
There are many good things about getting old.
