Almost Monochromatic!

Hello there! I have not been able to sit to write and interact with you. I feel like I have been left out from the social media network and everything feels new. Well, it is new year and I have not been in social media since October! Can you believe how time flies so fast? So, many things have changed for good and I am so excited to share with you that I got an internship program at Triluxe Luxury Distribution during first week of October. I have been busy with receiving samples, arranging them, visual merchandising, helping the customers in the fitting room, filing and the list goes on. I have been tired since there was no time for play as it is all work but I never felt so happier.

These photos were taken during September and I do not know whether you would like seeing them as they might be a bit old to you. As I have been spared from work, school and family gathering I am finally able to share these photos with you.

The inspiration to dress up came from the monochromatic trend but I did not wanted to go for top to bottom monochromatic look. I have added a hint of black and white to my outfit which I am sure you can notice. So this outfit was almost monochromatic!

What I love about this outfit is the animal print sash around my waist. In case you think its a belt you should know it is not....!It is attached to the midi dress.

I wore two bracelets, red bangle and purple studded cuff, wore gold coloured fringe necklace, round grey sunglasses and black and white pump to finish my look.

One accessory that complements the whole outfit is the white tote bag! Don't you think?

I think I have been told couple of times that hairbands completely change how I look and makes me look great.I cannot agree more when I got these super cute bands from Irressistible Me. I just love the detail of the beads on the black and pink bands and love how bow red band looks on my dark hair. One think I love about these bands are that it is the "centre of attention" in an outfit even if tons of accessories are worn.

Dark floral is something that has been in fashion scene for a while. Even though dark floral trend something that makes an outfit instantly edgy and grunge inspired, I would love to make it a bit toned down.....I would love to make this trend feminine and soft and best way to do that is by opting for either floral print or pastel. Well I'm this case I have hit the bulls eye by opting for both the trend in one staple: my asymmetric floral and pastel skirt.

7 Things I Want In My Dream Closet

Do you feel that you have nothing to wear even you have closet full of clothes? That happens to everyone and it happens not because you are in style rut and you are struggling with personal style rather it happens because your closet staples are not placed properly or because you may have less space. Trust me this is what I have realized very recently when I was standing in front of my closet holding my jeans. There was no way I could find my floral peasant top because it was somewhere hidden in the pile of clothes. The worst parts are struggling to find perfect layering piece. This is because I have placed all my tops and layering pieces together! I know sounds daunting.

A bigger closet would definitely make me content coz lets be honest, bigger closet equals more opportunity to shop. I have always wanted a closet that's bigger than my room because that's the part of my home where I am definite that I could find pure happiness. Not that I am not happy in any other parts of my house, but I always feel that a woman's closet should be her escape zone : a fantasy world.

For me a fantasy world doesn't not only mean the trendiest and the most beautiful clothing and accessories but also lounge area, a TV, a beauty section or dressing table and a separate shoe room.

5. Magazine Rack is also needed when I am out of style inspiration on gloomy days.

6. A photo frame showcasing my favourite looks and styles of myself over the years would be great! This is because as a fashion blogger I should always encourage myself to be better than before and work harder and so the photos of my previous looks would remind me this every day.

7. Since my personal style is statement making and experimental a mood board is definitely a must have thing for me. Not only because I would get style inspiration from this but I also think this would refresh my mind and would make me creative.

Fashion Is Fun And Frivolous

I love drama, fun facts, crazy ideas and creativity and that surely reflects in my dressing sense....but recently there are some of the things that has been bothering me and (I am sure )you when it comes to dressing up. It's the opposing of ones style statement!

With hundreds of fashion trends making its way to the runway, there is one trend that surely catches everyone's eye every year and even this year it didn't fail to be in the must have list for every bloggers and celebs. It's dramatic, it's fun and it makes you look younger: it is the ruffle trend! But have you noticed the drama is not only around the hemline or shoulder anymore ? There has been a lot of dramatic ruffle sleeves on the scene lately making me and you extremely happy!

Well, thanks to the ruffle trend for inspiring me to write this post!

Since this trend has taken the retail scene with storm and everyone has been pushing their boundaries and trying out different trends with this ruffle trend, I thought I should dig deeper in to my closet, meditate and come with unique style idea. I thought nothing would look better than mixing crazy and fun prints because life is short and we should live to the fullest. So, here is what I have come up with and I hope my outfit below clearly gives you a message that fashion is supposed to be fun! I thought of opting for stripe palazzo and I am sure seeing the size of the wide palazzo pants you must have thought I borrowed it from a clown ....just kidding.....but trust me it's from a thrift store for only 5 dollar!

Since I love accessorizing so much and tend to make it my first priority while getting dressed I thought sometimes it is okay to lay all cards on the table and be daring.....I opted for skull and fur cuff, silver statement shoe, long dangling earrings and a black glamorous bag! I am definite that you have understood my purpose of styling for this particular post. I clearly wanted to stop people from judging us the way we look, feel and think!

There are many times I am told that I should be dressed in a certain way and dressed "decently" to blend in with the crowds! I say : No! I mean there is no harm when taking fashion lightly and making it fun! Fashion is an art and is supposed to be frivolous and when you take it seriously it ends up being boring! I mean what harm could possibly occur if you look silly and accidentally become a fashion victim? No one is going to remember that and they will move on while you would sulk with your decision to look like a certain way! It's just a fashion faux pas and it will be forgotten and new day awaits you so you get the chance to make most out of it.

So, this summer season if you love fashion like I do, just go for something fun and be uniquely you! This is because there is only one life and lots of fashion trends! Let's have fun with styles and trends that we adore!

I was not sure how to respond when my mother told me about cleaning the closet! I would trade any kind of task out there with closet cleaning task! Firstly I feel it is time consuming, secondly it's just a way lot of hard work, thirdly you would ultimately have to part away with clothes and staples that doesn't fit you at the right places but is sadly your favourite. But have you wondered why actually people or should I use the word fashionistas clean out their closet? What amount of happiness and kind of emotions can be achieved by cleaning your closet other than a bit of disappointment and tensions that are linked to it? When you think what you have go through to decide what should be in and what should be out of your closet you feel reluctant to clean your closet ! Right? Speaking of in and out most of the clothes that are basic, fits well and clothes that defines the ultimate capsule wardrobe surely takes place at the front section of your closet, then comes your workwear, weekend wear and finally your evening wear and trendy items! But this post is not for those who are looking for how to clean and organize your closet rather it extracts all the unusual reason that are attached to it! It helps you to know exactly what and where you have your stuff! What I mean is it helps you to know exactly how many tops, bottoms, skirts, dresses, coats, shoes, bags, jewellery and other accessories you have. Once your are done cleaning the closet , you would exactly know how many items you have and where they are exactly kept!

It helps you to be more organized! Trust me! As mentioned earlier that it helps you to figure out how many items you have and it also helps you to remember exactly where you have kept all your things! This is because if you hate cleaning out your closet like me then you know that being messy runs in our blood! So, cleaning out your closet and rearranging it helps your wardrobe to be cleaner! Therefore you would be more organized!

It helps you to come up with different look books! Downsizing the closet means increased amount of looks! They have inverse relationship! You would have more time to look through the stuff you have and you would be mixing and matching new and old pieces!

Cleaning your closet helps you to lose calories ....well it literally forces you to move around and take out your things, toss out, fold clothes, place things, hang clothes, clean the wardrobes etc. Therefore it's good for your health!

While you are cleaning the closet you find out that you have not worn half of the items you own.....this teaches you not to waste money and to stick to the idea of cost per wear!

Finally it makes you leaving unusually satisfied! Once you are done cleaning your closet you realize the whole cleaning process was worth it and thus leaving a smile of accomplishment on your face!

The outfit above is put together just after I am done cleaning the closet! Luckily I had few trusted pieces in my wardrobe and I am happy that I have found this pink top at the back of my closet which I have not worn since a long time.....ha ha....there you go: treasure hunting is another reason which should be added to the list! Well mixing this old top with this new skirt was what inspired me to write this post! Plus I had to go through the process of cleaning which helped to write this post!

As I write this in a hurry knowing that I have only thirty minutes to get out of the house to take my mom to her doctor, I can't help but laugh at myself with the speed with which I got dressed only to find out that my mother is not dressed up yet and needed more thirty minutes. Here I am so much determined to finish this post within thirty minutes! So, today my mother needs to go to her eye doctor for her retinal check up but sadly I was too sleepy and tired to get dressed up but I cannot back off from my duties towards my parents!

As I was getting ready the first thing that I grabbed was scarf and tied it around my neck and realized this should be the must have accessory piece when you are too tired to get dressed! I mean I used to think it's only me who gets lazy to get dressed for the day but after researching and talking to many of you lovely fashionistas who wants to look great even though you are feeling lazy and are confused where to begin with, I though I should research and experiment what could be the solution that would finally put an end to this problem that we women face. There are lot of times I have attempted wearing earthy tones but every time I feel like I am just blending in with the crowd and feel like it is not fashion forward! I am usually not seen in earthy tones and feel it's a shame that I am not following the most basic trend of all time. However I also feel that going for earthy tones can be a bit risky since there is a chance of making your outfit look way too boring! When I say boring...I mean it! Suppose you are thinking of spending your day with friends and you think of wearing earthy colours. So what do you choose? brown pencil skirt (first earthy staple) , blue stripe off the shoulder top (trend of the season), caramel bag (second earthy staple) , brown suede statement heels (third earthy staple), statement choker necklace (a statement making piece) ..... There might not be anything wrong with your outfit especially when you are flaunting those off the shoulder top and statement choker. But don't you feel you need to make a statement with earthy tone staples instead of with the trendy and statement making pieces?

Hold On To Culottes!

Just when you thought that culottes are out of fashion you came across a pair of blush pink culottes which is no doubt a perfect addition to your summer wardrobe! It happens to me, u and everyone, right? I mean, culottes seems to looks perfect, timeless and trendy at the same time even though the trend is 3 seasons old! Many of the fashion experts and stylist are now on the hunt for new IT pants! Recently many of the magazines stated that skinny is coming back and might replace culottes! I say, it's good that skinny is coming back I would definitely hold on to my favourite pair of blush pink culottes from Forever 21.

So, recently I wore my favourite pair of blush culottes and from my recent experience and experimentation with culottes I learned couple of things that I strictly believe are necessary for you to know!

Here is why I think you should hold on to culottes!

They look surprisingly new and fashion forward!!! Every time you wear this don't you feel happy and confident? Well, this happens to me! They make any boring separates fresh and surprisingly fashionable no matter how many times you wore them in past month!!

You always find new ways to wear them! Sometimes you feel like tucking your top in the culottes and sometimes you don't! Sometimes you feel like layering and sometimes you don't. So no matter how you want to style culottes, it looks great every time! The best part is there are so many way you can dress them up or down depending on your mood!

Here, I dressed it up with long window pane tunic top and made my outfit look put together by clinching a belt!

It requires creativity to accessorize and make your culottes look fresh!!! You love your favorite pair of solid culottes. don't you? So, how do to accessorize them? From my recent experience I found it hard to accessorize a culotte! I guess that's what happens to everyone when they accessorize their favourite staple!

So, here is how I struggled..........

"It looks great with an edgy backpack but I want my blush pink culottes to look feminine and sophisticated without looking way too girly or I am trying too hard !"

So in that case I opted for floral clutch!

"Since it looks way too feminine now, I should wear something edgy" or should I go something menswear?"

A Loafer with tassel is perfect to balance the feminine look

"I also want my culottes to match with a pair of accessory without looking matchy matchy"

I added a blush pink belt

" I thought I wanted an edgy look in the first place, why am I side tracked????"

I wore a leaf knuckle ring

" But what's missing? Yes....something that describes my style.....I think this would look great against the red colour design of my top"

I added a statement necklace

"Coco Chanel advised to take off one accessory before leaving home"

Who cares? I added a polka dot bangle!

It is the epitome of sophistication: It looks sophisticated and polished on everyone! I am sure you know that already!

You can just walk around like it's nobodies business! It's way to comfy and roomy and makes you feel laid back without forgoing your style.

Are We Going Back To 80s?

It seems like we are going backwards and welcoming old trends in a new way! 2016 was all about the 70s flare and 90s over-sized staple. It was a mixture of bohemian with cool and effortless style. Everything was way too over sized and had a flare, breezy and airy feel! Well, the 70s trend started from the end of 2014 and still continuing but this year the 70's trend was tried out with a twist. Trends of 90s like slip dress, oversized denim jacket and chokers were added to the flowy and bohemian style of 70s. But since couple of months the runway shows were moving on from the 70s and trying to bring back new silhouettes that were long forgotten. A fitted look with twist of 80s! Everything seems to be grungy, punk and dark for the fashion industry for couple of months!

I don't know whether it 's my misconception or not but I feel fashion world is turning in to more Gothic style and embracing the 80's nowadays! However recently the 80's trend is more refined and polished, compared to the laid back look that were adopted during 1980's. It's more sophisticated with a touch of grunge!

I know I have been acting all weird and going crazy over the latest trend that is Spanish Influenced! It just looks way too romantic, feminine, joyous, trendy and fashion forward at the same time, so I cannot help it and thought I should recreate this look with Black And White! Yes you heard that right! I know Spanish style requires a lot of colours especially red. It also requires frills, ruffles, tiers etc. But you can give your outfit a little bit of Spanish touch and recreate them in your own way. Since personal style is important, I have recreated this trend and made it look feminine and experimental at the same time!

So here is what I thing you should have in your outfit to add a touch of Spanish Style and make it look fresh !

Even if the outfit is black and white, you need a bit of flare on your outfit to get in to the Spanish Vibe! Don't you agree?

Bored of ruffles? Why not play with your sleeves.... Go for bat wings, bell sleeves and Victorian sleeves to bring back the Spanish Influenced trend.

You love unique items that describes your quirky and fun personality. You also love those jingling and chunky accessories that you wear often. You also love wearing statement necklaces and sunglasses and that's Your go to pieces which you cannot live without and almost wear everyday when you go out.

We always address the problem of having too much basic staples in your closet. But there are many fashionholics out there who have more dramatic outfits than basics. So, in that case utilize your statement making outfits cautiously. The trick is to go for neutral colour and wear as minimal accessories as possible if your outfit is vibrant and colourful.
