I came across New York based designer Katie Ermilio's Spring '13 Lookbook and I am really loving this designer's aesthetic. She infuses ultra-feminine pieces with the latest trends i.e. florals and graphic prints. I absolutely love what she has done with this spring's graphic black and white trend. Beauty: Cold Pressed Argan Oil (100% Pure)

So I have been really conscientious of the ingredients in a lot of my hair and beauty products of late. I swear by Aveda's products, as these make up 90% of my beauty regimen. Even so these are not 100% organic and there are still some chemicals in these products. I was reading Rumi Neely's ITG profile and she made an excellent point about finding the organic equivalent of some of the more natural ingredients you find in your favorite products. I am an avid user of Moroccan/Argan oil and have been looking for something in a spray/aerosol format. I came across this product on Amazon's website and it boasts of being 100% pure with certificate of organic operation as proof. I am really excited for the arrival of this product and trust a product review will be forthcoming. I just recently got a haircut and anticipate a dye job shortly so I really need something to help keep my locks moisturized as they are fine and tend to get extremely brittle and dry when I do anything to chemically alter it.

I have been exhausted these last couple of months with new demands of my job (hence the lack of posts) and just haven't been inspired by anything fashion related. Then I came across these leather shorts over on BCBG website. I absolutely have to have these. I must find a way to justify this purchase as they are a whopping $448.00.

Shoes: The BCBGeneration Cynthia Ankle Strap Pump

I am seriously considering purchasing these. At the lovely price of $89.00 it really is not a bad purchase. I am really starting to love the look of ankle strap pumps. Any classic pump for that matter is peaking my interest. I am also finding that my feet feels great in these types of shoes as I really can't wear many heels due to the pain they cause me. These shoes would look great with denim styles in the spring and summer months. What do you guys think yay or nay?

P.S. If you don't like this color they also have them available in black.

Something new I am trying. While I have a link to my instagram available on the blog it is not my blog's official instagram. I am horrible at documenting my outfits (I hate staged photos). I find the best way for me to share what I am wearing is via my instagram photos. The shots are more reflective of my personality.

So here is what you are looking at:

An all denim inspired outfit with my favorite (and most comfortable) pair of heels from Shoemint. A preview of a few outfits I recently bought for spring. Loving Nordstrom's inventory and their take on the Spring trends.

My take on this Spring's Black and White trend with Ann Taylor Loft Peplum blouse and my new Furla Candy Bag in Opaque White.

Some Doc Marten's I found in my closet from a few seasons ago.

P.S. I have sort of taken the blog in a new direction (hence the infrequent posts). Instead of taking an editorial approach I am treating it much like a mood board so you will be seeing more inspirational type posts and things that represent whatever creative space I am in at the moment. It will still be centered around fashion and art and culture so it isn't that much of a departure.

I have to admit I am not overly into the wedge sneaker look and the only ones I like are the really expensive brands like Isabel Marant or Giuseppe Zanotti. I happened to stumble across an amazing lower priced brand (think expensive but not as expensive as its designer inspirations). Ash Footwear is the closest I have seen a brand come to getting that Isabel Marant look for less. I wouldn't mind spending money on these and having them in my closet as staple sport luxe pieces. What do you think of Ash Footwear are they a hit or miss?

Runway to Street Style: Metallic Trench

Christopher Bailey is a mastermind at updating a classic look. For example take this metallic trench coat from the Burberry Prorsum Spring RTW '13 collection. It's on trend look is poised for the current season but the shape allows you to hold on to this piece for years to come. I can't be the only one that gets excited to see how Bailey re-imagines his trench coats every season.

I never paid Christian Dior (the label) much attention before Raf Simons made his debut. I have to say I am loving what he is doing with the collections over there. His haute cotour and ready to wear debut's have been solid. Not that I expected anything less. This look has to be my favorite one of the spring RTW line and it was really hard deciding because every piece right down to the accessories were amazing!!

You guys know how much I LOVE fashion illustration. My favorite fashion illustrator, Garance Dore of the infamous blog that bears her name, is selling her illustrations!! She has opened an online boutique where buyers can choose from the lower priced posters or the more expensive art prints. She is currently selling limited edition art prints for $400 which is a bargain in my opinion if you are a serious curator of art. I believe her pieces one day will be worth 3 times what they are now. I really wish I could get me one of the limited editions but until my bank account recuperates a bit from this financially hellish December I have had I will opt for one of the poster prints at $40.

I love the textured walls and clean lines of these living spaces. I am still very much on an interior decorating binge. Coffee table books and neutral furniture continues to be an obsession and I have to find a way to incorporate acrylic furniture into my aesthetic. I am freaking out over those chairs in the kitchen, how amazing are they!!

A photo of me at the Millenia Mall in Orlando with my family in Florida last week. The weather was contrastingly beautiful than what was going on further north. It really was hard to watch all of the devastation that folks in the northeast were enduring. My thoughts and prayers to all those affected by hurricane Sandy. New York/New Jersey is such a vibrant place filled with resilient citizens, I know they will find their way back. In the meantime you guys make sure you donate to the Red Cross. Every little bit helps!!

My travel makeup bag is extremely light. I don't like packing so I try my hardest to limit the amount of products I carry. I wanted to share with you a few tried and true products that I love to use when traveling.

Aveda Botanical Kinetics Hydrating Lotion- I use this before applying foundation. It really is hydrating and serves as a great primer.

Chanel perfection Lumiere Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10 Foundation- Surprisingly this wears lighter than some tinted moisturizers and it is very hydrating, it gives you a great glow.

Maybelline Great Lash, Anastasia Clear Brow Gel and Stila Waterproof Eye Liner- I use these religiously they really make my eyes pop, especially when I wear my eyeglasses.

Clinique Chubby Stick, Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks, and Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadow- These are a few extras I use to give my look a little bit of glamour. Sometimes I like to look made up without looking overdone and I love products that give that hint of color.

The good thing about all of these products is the very small packaging that allows me to carry it in one small makeup bag.
