Here is my good friend Keith Walendowski. He called me out of the blue from jail. I couldn't believe it but he actually got his rifle out and shot his lawn mower. I said, "Keith, what were you thinking." He said, "The da**n thing wouldn't start!" I couldn't believe he went to prison for murdering his lawn mower....but he did. This rings of Supreme Court action to me. Here's his sad but compelling story. Hang in there Keith.

Summer is in full swing and that means people getting their grills fired up, and many will be getting their boats back into the water. Boating is a wonderful water sport that can be enjoyed by not only adults but kids as well. But there are also dangers. Boating Education is needed by anyone seeking to drive or even be on a boat. WEEKEND AT STONE MOUNTAIN

A couple of weeks ago we went to Stone Mountain. If you ever come to Georgia, you have to see (and climb) Stone Mountain. You can see the engraving on the side of the mountain in this picture. It's a breath-taking sight and even more awesome in person. Also, it is a lot of fun just to watch all the people coming and going as the crowds there get pretty huge. While we were enjoying our picnic lunch and watching all the people, we noticed a Filipino family not too far from us. So I, (the Am in Fil-Am) using my excellent knowledge of Tagalog, approached them and said, "Sa Pilipinas po kayo?" They looked at this American in shock that I knew their language and politely answered, "Oo!" I waved at Debbie to come and meet them and as you can see in the picture below we ended up eating together and making new friends.

It ended up a great afternoon and evening at Stone Mountain which culminated in the world famous Laser Show. We can't wait to go back soon and this time, we will climb the mountain.....or take the trolly(lol). If you are ever in Georgia.....

A pet rabbit, shown here, has been credited with saving an Australian couple from a fire that started in their house while they slept. Evidently the rabbit was scratching furiously at their bedroom door and awoke them, thus warning them of the fire inside their home. The firemen at the scene also credit the rabbit with saving the couple's life. Nice? Here's the whole story.

FILIPINOS CAPTURED BY PIRATES?

Twenty Filipino seamen were among those on board a Panamanian registered bulk carrier that was hijacked by pirates off Somalia as it was sailing to the Gulf of Aden. I wasn't sure pirates existed today until I did more research and discovered pirating (not software) is big business....for the sea thugs. Our fellow countrymen have been bullied by pirates and are now held captive off the coast of Somolia which has a reputation of being chaotic to begin with. In any event, we should pray for their safe release. Here's more.

CELLL PHONES AND CANCER

The head of a prominent cancer research institute issued an unprecedented warning to his faculty and staff Wednesday: Limit cell phone use because of the possible risk of cancer. There have been rumors all these years and little scientific data to support such a claim but as time goes on there is more and more evidence coming forth....published and unpublished. The scientist who issued the above warning says he is not waiting and wants his whole staff to limit cell phone use...especially around children. If cell phone usage really does cause cancer, think about what life will be like in 15-20 years. Parents are giving cell phones to their kids to use at such a young age, these are kids today that will have cancer before they are 30. Something to ponder..........cell phones......the alien conspiracy to thin out Earth's population. Maybe? Here's the story.

Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards was caught visiting his mistress and secret love child at 2:4oam in a Los Angeles hotel. The Alzheimer's Memory Walk is a worthy event helping to promote the end to one of the worst diseases that can afflict your loved one. I know first hand that Alzheimers cripples a person's memory and can even dangerously affect their behavior. The Alzheimer's Association is calling for help in sponsoring Memory Walks in your local communities. These are typically 2-3 mile walks usually held in the Fall. They are walks with a purpose as they help raise money to go toward alzheimers care, support and research. The cure is the goal and these walks go a long way toward providing the funds as well as inspiration for many.

The Alzheimer's Association is calling on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's. With the release of the latest Batman movie comes the reality that one of the movie's main characters is actually dead. Here is a list of people who died while they had a movie in progress.

AALIYAH: The R&B star died in a 2001 Bahamas plane crash before the release of vampire flick "Queen of the Damned."

JAMES DEAN: "Rebel Without a Cause" was released one month after Dean, 24, was killed in a 1955 car accident.

CLARK GABLE: Gable died of a heart attack at 59 before the 1960 release of the film "The Misfits."

RIVER PHOENIX: Died of drug-related heart failure four months before his film, "Silent Tongue," came out.

JEAN HARLOW: Harlow was just 26 when she died of kidney disease just a month before release of her 1937 film "Saratoga."

MARILYN MONROE: The sexy star died in 1962 from a drug overdose while still filming "Something's Got to Give," which was later redone as "Move Over, Darling."

SPENCER TRACY: The 67-year-old screen star died of a heart attack after completing "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner."

BRANDON LEE: The son of martial arts film star Bruce Lee died in a mishap on the set of "The Crow" just eight days before filming was to be completed.
