A Fondness for Dress-Up

Black Friday Haul

2011-11-27T18:05:00.000-08:00

Black Friday is totally one of my favorites. I mean, a day committed to shopping - Awesome! I try to make it pretty darn productive. And this year was no exception.
Over the course of the evening/night/morning, Mom and Dad and I hit several cities, malls and stores. They totally love me. From 9pm Thursday to Friday around noon, we roamed stores, spent too much money, and followed my spreadsheet. (Necessary when you have this much to accomplish.)

Anyway, it was lots of fun and following is some of my loot. (The rest is for Christmas presents. Shhh!)

Pumps by Arturo Chiang and Nude Fishnets from Express

Dress and Shirt from J. Crew

Blouse and Slip set from Anthropologie

Jeans, Tank, and Cardigan by Old Navy

Dress and MORE tights from Forever XXI

As you can see, I managed to spend a ton of money and add so many cute items to my wardrobe.

Now it's time to begin planning Christmas projects and following a strict Starbucks budget.

Halloween Festivities

2011-11-18T14:41:00.000-08:00

Though it's been a long time since I've posted anything here, I've still been creating. The msot recent test of my skills was for Halloween. You may recall that Halloween is one of my favorites. I love that I can wear almost ANYTHING my girly heart desires. Last year allowed me a skirt so large I took two seats. This year required a different challenge.

After SO much consideration, I decided to go with Miss Piggy from the Muppets. I wanted a fun costume but one that would push me beyond just making a pretty dress. Between the nose, wig, and make-up it was definitely a challenge. But it turned out great and I had a lot of fun!

Sadly, the office (colored) photos are pretty blurry. One of the many problems with working in a poorly lit, cold, buried basement...
But you can see the fun magenta, the hard-core make-up, and that piggy nose.

As I'm always looking for an excuse to dress up, I went to a club the following night. As Miss Piggy is not a very dance-friendly costume (I think it's the train), I pulled out an old stand-by.

That's right, Tinkerbell! I think every girl under 5'4" has worn one at one time or another.

Liz was also there havign a blast in her Romy and Michelle inspired post-it dress. It took her and her post-it pal DAYS to complete. And they looked fantastic. Santa was not part of OUR group, but how can I not get a pic?!

Lastly, I wore one final costume to take Josie trick-or-treating to Grandma and Grandpa. They're the only ones who still give me candy... For that last costume, I wanted to wear a coat and tease my hair. I added my no-named slob of a "cat" and was ready to go.

And because no post is ever complete without a picture of Meghan, here's one of her torturing her legion of gingerbread skeletons. She did an amazing job decorating!

As Christmas time rolls around, I hope to be doing more here. My tree is up, my gift list is written, and my baking has started. The only thing left is making fun Christmas crafts!

The seaweed is always greener...

2011-06-16T22:18:00.000-07:00

I've had a piece of fabric from Ikea for several months. I knew, I wanted to make a skirt with it, but since the pattern was big and bold, I knew it had to be carefully done.
Finally, I got tired of waiting and just went for it.
And I love how it turned out.

The skirt is complete with pocket, bow, and a little PG-13 crab pinching. I didn't plan it that way, but there's a stream of crabs swimming toward my bottom, pinchers at the ready! Oh my!!!

And then because I'm mad about Liz's new chambray dress, from Land's End, no less, here you go.

I like the pictures with the bike racks in the background. Liz's bf works for a small bike motor company and it a total fan of "self-transit". Yeah, I just coined that term myself, cause the real word is escaping me. But he likes biking and using it as a means of transportation. And now that you know all of that about Liz's boyfriend, I'm off to bed.

Hey, remember that wedding?

2011-06-15T21:44:00.000-07:00

Dear Liz, I must apologize. I just found these pictures on my camera. You know, 2 months after the wedding...

Following is an assorted summary of our royal wedding sleepover, including paperdoll wedding dresses, hats and rings, Liz's outfit changes, and afternoon tea.

Packing Tips

2011-06-15T21:36:00.000-07:00

Yes, it's nearly a month since I packed for a trip back to Virginia for a wedding, but between the catch up I've been trying to do at work and fun celebratory weekends, this post hasn't happened til now.

But I wanted to make sure this got up at some point because one of my favorite things to do is pack. I love the lists, the organization, and getting to see all my clothes together at once. It's also the first chance I generally give myself to get excited about the trip and make choices about what I'll be doing.

In this case, I was going back for a weeklong trip to Virginia, where it was nice and warm, to a family wedding. I was going to see all my grandparents, uncles, and a few historical tombs. I was pretty excited.

My first step is always a list. It allows me to plan out what I want to bring and forces me to think more and ensure I don't forget anything.
I also make sure to have a fun dvd to watch. Because as much as I love packing, it's nice to relax and do other things as well.

Then I lay everything out. I want to make sure that there are lots of options for each piece in case things get dirty or I need to be a little more formal/casual/etc...

One thing my mother taught me that has always made a ton of sense is to pick a color scheme and stick with that. It ensures that almost anything is interchangeable, and limits the accessories you need to bring. It also helps you look impressively co-ordinated.

In this case, my casual stuff was a bright, bold color palette and my dress clothes were assorted corals and peaches.

It made it so easy to pick out sweaters and shoes when I had a small selection of color options.

And small is key because...

I like challenging myself with a weekend bag. That's right, for everything, for the entire week. My family tries to travel with carry-on only. And in my case, I want a bag that I can lift into the overhead bins. (I'm sure dad would help if I asked, but still...) So I go small.

I make sure to pack tightly. I've heard that rolling is the best, but in my experience, since my bag is so square, folding things tightly seems to work really well.

Also, a girl has got to have a luggage tag. Cause they're cute and responsible.

Some things I also took into account:
- I rarely get to see my grandmas, but they hear regularly about my dresses and sewing, so I wanted to be sure to bring some of my designs to show off. They were very complimentary.
- There were a lot of things I wanted to bring, but didn't. The only part of my life where I tend to be minimalistic is in packing, apparently.
- If I did have more room, I would have brought a pair of converse. My feet were fine for the length of the trip, but I imagine sneakers would have brought that fine to fantastic.

I hope this helps you guys in your future packing endeavors! And now that it's summer I'm much more inspired by my sewing, so I'll try to get some new pictures up. I've got a dress and skirt that I'm very pleased to show off!!!

Meghan's Shoes

2011-04-19T22:15:00.000-07:00

Meg came over for dinner tonight. Just like normal. It was yummy and we tried to watch Netflix and I got mad at my computer. Again, just like normal.

What wasn't normal? I didn't recognize Meg's shoes!!! She always has adorable shoes, but these took me by surprise. Of all my friends, she's the one who gets designer shoes first. Darn her!!!

Getting towards the end

2011-04-13T13:53:00.000-07:00

So I'm only 10 days away from the end of this project. And I find myself excited for all the things I can get. Or even just the possibilities of things.
Some of it's just my excitement over spring coming and wanting pretty bright things. (There are pretty bright things in my closet, but they apparently look less bright when I eye them every day.) And some of it is jealousy over things my friends have gotten in the past few months that I could really see myself using.
Part of me, though, will be a little disappointed that it's over. (A VERY small part, but still.) It's somewhat liberating to just have to tell myself no. I cannot get whatever item it is that I want at that given moment. Instead I've been forced to "deal" without it. To create an outfit and be comfortable without it. I think that's good or me, no matter how hard it is or long it takes to plan out my outfit the night before.
I'll try to remember to get pictures these last few days. Seeing as I'm in the home stretch, I shouldn't slack off. Whoops.

I rescued a human

2011-04-06T09:40:00.000-07:00

My brother sent this to me this morning and it made me cry. It's so sweet and sad. But judging from the interaction between me and my rescue dog, Josie, in the shelter. It's not far off.

And as always, I know the Humane Society appreciates any donations they can get and since it seems fitting for the post...

Meghan makes dinner

2011-04-05T19:56:00.000-07:00

Meghan owed me a delicious dinner. And she really pulled through. Like, really yummy, delicious, fresh, Pike Place Market food.
Plus, there was beer, dessert AND candlelight to match it all.

And she had on a pretty outfit with an extra pretty skirt.

Also, Josie was really desperate for some food. Like, really desperate. Like "get up and perform" desperate.

Delicious!!!

Thanks Meg!

More Catching Up

2011-04-04T19:06:00.000-07:00

A few outfits from the past week.

This is Josie's "momma, stop taking pictures and make me dinner" face.

And these are yummy, delicious, grapefruit scones.

On that note, I need to go make dinner for Josie and Grace, my little girls.

Annie Leibovitz for Disney

2011-03-27T19:50:00.000-07:00

I finally caught a glimpse of Disney's Ad campaign done with Annie Leibovitz and I am in love.

Maybe everyone and their mom knew about this already; it seems like some of the first photos are from 2008, but no one told me.

I've always been a giant fan of fairy tales, princesses, and pretty dresses. And I've never stopped watching Disney movies. This set of photos now includes my love of celebrity. Umm, perfect.

(All photos are taken by Annie Leibovitz, duh, and paid for by Disney to promote Disney Parks.)

So tired...

2011-03-17T20:59:00.000-07:00

I've found myself having absolutely no drive to take picture of what I'm wearing. I promise. It's still cute; I love them. But just haven't felt the urge to take pictures.

So I am going to put a few things I love up here.

Target's Go International dresses (I may have cheated this weekend and bought 2)

Carey Mulligan
She's so beautiful and adorable. (And I love her haircut.)
Plus, I'm watching "Never Let Me Go" right now. It's interesting. Cannot quite decide how I feel yet. I may need a few days.

She and I are totally bffs

My Josie and lil sis, Honey

Glee's most recent episode, Original Song.
http://www.hulu.com/watch/222881/glee-original-song

I also am terribly sad right now. On my way home from work today, there was a dog roaming the sidewalks. In this dog friendly city, there are plenty of "off leash" dogs and so I assumed an owner was nearby, but after looking around, I didn't see one. So I parked and went to hunt the pup down. I got his attention and he barked at me, but wouldn't come close. So I retrieved the cheese I had in the car and fed him some. He'd get close enough for the cheese, but not for me to grab or even pet him. He had no collar, but was sweet, non-aggressive and totally domesticated. I spent 45 minutes sitting on the sidewalk and talking trying to get him to trust me. When I'd stand up, he'd follow me barking, but he still wouldn't get close.
I finally had to give up. I didn't know what else I could do short of staying there for hours longer until he may finally trust me enough to let me put him in the car.
It broke my heart to walk away. I was sobbing by the time I was in the car. I don't know what will happen to him or how the family that misses him so much will manage. All I can do is hope and know that I gave him food and a bowl of water and try to believe that was enough to set him on his way home again.
Sometimes life can be so sad...

Revenge is Best Served in Costume

2011-03-12T20:29:00.000-08:00

I try to take my role as older sister very seriously. My brother and I talk about our parents (to complain), our classes/work (to brag), and occasionally our feelings (cause that's healthy).

However there are some benefits to having siblings. One such benefit is the fun you get to have at the other's expense. My best accomplishment, until last night, was when I'd convinced John that at age 11, he too would receive a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. No letter ever came and he was devastated. I'm not sure my mother has forgiven me for that one yet...
John's got quite a laundry list, himself. My first viewing of the Sound of Music was ruined by him telling me that the Nazis killed the vonTrapp family in the end. I spent the entire length of the film waiting for the ax to fall. Later on, he'd sit on our armchair and cover himself with a blanket and then surprise me. Most recently, he tried to convince me that daylight savings time works by slowing the rotation of the Earth. (It does NOT, I confirmed with Dad.)

So I've felt like I've owed him for some time now. A comment from mom during the Superbowl/Thriller episode of Glee helped me to form a plan. When John arrived home from school, late at night and tired after his long week, we'd be outfitted in zombie garb wandering around the house/yard. Just muttering and stumbling. John's not the biggest fan of zombies. (Read: scared of) Each time I'd think about it for the following 2 months, I'd giggle. Best plan ever.

So last night, I came to the house prepared with face paint, blood, cauliflower and coffee. Over the course of the next hour, I made myself and dad up. Mom took care of her own makeup, even going so far as to cover her hands. We were holding some cauliflower and had put some on the ground covered in barbecue sauce for the dogs to eat and fight over when John came in. We'd also turned all the lights out and put on "dungeon" themed music. It was fantastic. So amazing.

Sadly, John was not as terrified as I'd dreamed. If we'd been in place and ready to go, I think we really could have pulled it off, but we were still getting ready when he pulled up. But it was cold; I would not have sat out for an hour just to be ready when he got home. That and I don't think zombies are supposed to giggle.

So much fun though... May be a tradition for EVERY time John comes home. SHHHhhhhhh!!!!

Flights of Fancy

2011-03-12T20:09:00.000-08:00

In another attempt to wear those items which I do not normally wear, I pulled the following piece out of my closet. It's a lovely, silk camisole that I found at a charity sale. It's lavender with white triangular birds.

It's one more of those pieces that I love and just don't wear.

Perhaps more in the summer...

Friday

Someone sent our department chair a fruit basket with pretty cut up fruit! It was super yummy.

And some detail on the shirt...

The Main Event!!!

2011-03-11T09:48:00.000-08:00

Here it is! The picture I've been dying to share....

Quite possibly one of the more surreal moments in my life. Though it seemed pretty normal for Bill. He acknowledged our presence with a "Hey Ladies" and barely a glance in our direction.
Still, it was fantastic.

I also think that Meghan and I have officially made the crossover from Trekkers to Trekkies. There is no more denying the nerdiness...

Earthy Skirt...

2011-03-10T21:55:00.000-08:00

Last week, someone suggested that I try to challenge myself by using the pieces in my closet that I haven't pulled out. They had a point. I LOVE the pieces I wear as evidenced over and over. But I also love the pieces I don't wear. I just feel less comfortable using them for whatever reason.

Today I pulled out a skirt I've had for many years. I haggled with my mom for this one. We were buying a few nice outfits for high school graduation and she was not a believer in this skirt. I had to have it. It had gold sequins, trim, and so much character. I wore it at least once a week for the months following. Since then, I've pulled it out of the closet a handful of times. I love it, but it's hard to match and the cotton-y layers stick to each other. (Super annoying!)

So, here goes.

Thursday

I may have a Starbucks problem... In my defense, they were offering free treats.

The skirt has some pretty awesome detail. There are wooden beads, sequins, AND ruffles. Amazing!

All in all, I regret not wearing this skirt more. I received compliments all through the day. I loved how full and fun it was. And with the proper precautions, cotton sticking together wasn't an issue.
Possibly a good risk to take...

Also, for those who are interested, Starbucks is offering a free sample of their new goodies from 2-5 tomorrow, March 11th. So far, I've tried the birthday cake pop (delicious!), the red velvet whoopie pie (meh), and the salted caramel square (uber rich).
Worth looking into.

Night!

So Ready for Spring

2011-03-09T21:35:00.000-08:00

I thought one of the benefits of this project would be that I'd be so busy coming up with new outfits, that I wouldn't notice the longer days and slightly less freezing weather. Which would mean that come May when it starts to actually turn to spring, I'd be pleasantly surprised.
As it would seem, though, that's not the case. I'm grabbing onto spring with everything I've got. All my color is coming back out. Sadly, the sun has gone back away so who knows how long til I'm back in boots and sweaters...

Monday
This is my favorite sweater ever. I'm terrified for the one day it finally falls apart. And I'm also super scared to get it cleaned for fear of the beading coming undone. It's so beautiful and the colors are fantastic.

Tuesday
Starting to get more winter-y colors back, but I tried to add some color and sunshine with the jewelry!

For the record, I was reaching for the chemical shower pull that UW has every 10 yards. They are SO tempting...

The jewelry accidentally went together. The bracelet is from Mom a few years ago. Most likely when she upgraded to a beautifully handmade one (by herself, of course) and gave me the store bought one. The earrings were from prom. I love the way coral and gold look together.

Wednesday
Yeah, I got lazy today. So what?! It was warm and comfortable and I LOVE the necklace. So there.

And a charming picture of me, without a coat, being a cold spaz.

Yes, I realize that at my age, I should be responsible for bringing the correct clothing when it's 45 degrees outside. I'll try better tomorrow.

Emerald City Comicon

2011-03-08T22:30:00.000-08:00

This past weekend, I attended my first SciFi convention. Though a fan of Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Star Wars for many years, and a costume owner for almost as many, I'd always edged away because I never felt hardcore enough. This year however, I've up-ed my Star Trek (TNG) consumption and become even more of a fan. When I discovered Bruce Boxleitner would be there, it was simply a matter of talking Meghan into it. Like me, I think she'd been interested, but never quite ready to "go" there.

Not ones to do something halfheartedly, we went ahead and got 3 day passes. It allowed us time to see the various panels and get in photo ops and signings.

One of the most impressive sightings was that of the Star Wars Group. I'm not sure of their name, but they have various appearances around Seattle. As far as I can tell, it's just a group of people who have a blast dressing up in costume.
What amazed me was the accuracy and detail. Where do they get the supplies?! Especially in the case of the harder plastic pieces?! Are they created specifically by them, bought from a movie supplier? I don't even know...

Naturally Meghan and I had to bring our own costumes. Quite possibly the nerdiest conversation she and I have had was the decision over which of our costumes to bring. We have more than one series worth...

These costumes were perfect for our first photo op. But since I'm still waiting on the jpg, I'll try not the spoil the surprise...

We got to see a few panels.

The funniest, by far, was Jonathan Frakes and Brent Spiner. They joked with each other and were complete clowns. At least 10 minutes were spent doing impersonations. Another 10 went to discuss colonoscopies...

Following that, we got to see the one and only, William Shatner! He's such an iconic figure within the genre. Of course, he knows that and so milks it for everything it's worth. He had a few amusing stories, but overall, it wasn't the best.

Lastly, and most importantly, I got to see Bruce Boxleitner speak. It was delightful. He was funny and managed to talk both about Tron and Babylon 5 as well as hint towards a re-release of the series...

Possibly the most exciting part of the weekend was getting to meet Bruce and have my picture taken with him. He was one of my first celebrity crushes. And it turns out that kind of puppy love doesn't die easily. At age 60, he's still insanely handsome and fit. It was fantastic. Of course, I spent a week planning outfits, another week picking out memorabilia to sign, and then 48 hours shaking in my pumps before the actual event. I'm still waiting to come down from the excitement. At least the nervous shaking part is over. Now it's just the emotional part. Goodness...

These are pictures of his signing table. I was first in line. Duh.

Sadly my hopes of true love were vanquished after he saw this photo and commented on how cute I looked standing with my "dad". I guess the age difference WILL be keeping us apart... Sigh.

For the record, he looks WAY older than my dad. So there, Bruce!

Lastly, a funny picture of Brent Spiner stopping by Bruce's booth to give him a hard time. It was fun getting to see him up close and he gave us a hard time about Bruce.

All in all, the weekend was a blast and as soon as I get that last picture, I'll put it up!

Super Busy Week!!!

2011-03-07T21:16:00.000-08:00

This past week was beyond busy. An absolute blast, but busy...

Monday started out slow.

Tuesday
Then on Tuesday night, took full advantage of the beginning of Dine Around Seattle. Meghan and I went to Purple in downtown Bellevue and after a slightly embarrassing moment of sitting down in the wrong restaurant, we enjoyed a delicious (if slightly slow) meal. It was yummy and the extra time gave us lots of time to plan our ECCC attack. But more on that later.

This skirt is one of the favorites I've made. It's so simple. Just a circle skirt. It even has an elastic waist. But it goes with everything and lace makes it prettier than just a brown skirt.

My delightful little puppy, Josie.

Wednesday
Mom and I had tickets to Next to Normal at the 5th Avenue. It was beyond depressing. So depressing as to make Miss Saigon look upbeat. It's about a woman struggling with bipolar disorder and its affect on her family. The music was great though. I've been listening to the soundtrack ALL week. And I'm still not tired of it. And the set design also fantastic. http://www.nexttonormal.com/

I took advantage of the event to break out my Diane von Furstenberg dress. I love it, but get so nervous wearing it.

Thursday

I spent much of my day thinking about and planning for ECCC and the evening was spent frosting a cake and planning, packing, and repacking. A girl has to be prepared at her first SciFi convention.

And I got some snaps of Liz too. One of the benefits of working at the U is that there's ALWAYS construction. You'd think it'd make for awesome photo backgrounds. The problem is, the construction sites always have silly signs...

Then one of the cake taken by a coworker of mine. I don't want to brag, but it was delicious! And mom helped so much with the decorating. It ended up looking great.

Friday
I spent much of my Friday alternating between absolute terror and overwhelming excitement. Meghan and I had 3 day passes to Emerald City Comicon. It was our first convention and we were excited to go. A few Star Trek actors were going to be there as well as one of my personal favorites, Bruce Boxleitner. His show, Babylon 5 was my first taste of Science Fiction. I loved it. I planned, I ironed, I packed snacks...

I also worried endlessly about what to wear. I wanted a look that said, I'm a fan, but I don't spend all my free-time playing World of Warcraft in my parents' basement. And at a convention that's a fine line to walk.

I was going over with Liz all the goodies I'd packed for the weekend.

And that, that's an action figure. A Captain John Sheridan action figure, thank you very much. And Babylon 5 trading cards.

Babylon 5 was also my introduction to EBay.

I'll set up another post for the convention. I'm still waiting on a picture. But I'll tell you that it was great. So much fun. I hope to go next year. Of course, I'll be saving up. It definitely got expensive. But, more to come!

Catching Up

2011-03-07T20:51:00.000-08:00

I'll blame the lack of posting partly on artistic differences between my computer and I, partly on my excitement and preparation for Emerald City Comicon, but mostly it;s due to my extreme laziness.

And for that, I am sorry.

Thursday (of 2 weeks ago...)
I was in the same outfit from Sunday. Striped shirt, jeans, and boots. Snow was imminent and I had to be warm and prepared.
But I saw this written on the wall in the UW's parking garage and was tickled pink. Fairy tales are my favorite.

Friday
I felt bad about wearing jeans ALL week, so mistakenly gave up my casual Friday

Saturday
This is one of my own dresses. I love the wrap style and it's so easy to wear. The material is stretchy, flowy, and fun. Plus navy is the best neutral ever...

Sunday
No exciting outfits, but I DID decide to dive into the world of millinery.
MY FIRST HAT!!!

I LOVE how it turned out. So pretty and feathery. All I have to do now is figure out how to keep it on my head...

A Much Better Picture

2011-02-23T21:44:00.000-08:00

I found a wonderful picture of Meghan from Halloween this year.

And then I could not resist this one...
Halloween last year. She was an Enterprise crew member and I was Amy Winehouse.

And on that note, I should have gone to bed half an hour ago.

Night!

This Week had a Delightful Start

2011-02-23T21:40:00.000-08:00

Fresh off my sleepover, I guess I felt like cuddling up. It seems that's what my outfits were about. Of course, it could also be the threat of snow.

Either way...

I'm experimenting using my webcam for pictures. They're not great quality, but they're easy and I don't have to bother other people to take them for me. It also took me FOREVER to figure out where they're stored on my computer. But I won in the end. And here they are.

Sunday

Also, I've yet to find a "timer" option. Best is the "burst" option. Then I end up with 10 high speed pictures of me sitting...

Monday

In hindsight, this looks like a portrait. And the roses are from Mom and our Costco trip that day.

Tuesday

Oh, and Meghan came over to cook me dinner. And give me a poisoned apple. Hahahahahhahahhaa. I make myself laugh soo hard...

Generally she looks much less evil. I swear. I think it's the un-natural redness of the apple and the GIANT knife she's holding.

Sorry, Meghan. I'll work on finding an amazing picture of you. I can only find Star Trek ones so far.

Wednesday

Liz looked exceptionally adorable and I felt I had to share it with the class.

I had my gloves to prepare for the snow. Which waited another 6 hours to come...

And one of the little monsters and feeding time.

Cross your fingers for a snow day tomorrow!!!

Sleepover Weekend

2011-02-23T21:18:00.000-08:00

So my grownup sleepover with Liz was a-may-zing!!!!
It was a blast.

First, dinner at her place. Delicious, but undocumented. I was blown away. It involved lemon and capers and delicious vegetable. I HATE vegetables and I ate ALL these up. That's how good it was.

Then it was onto Swink Style Bar. It's a blowout bar in downtown Seattle. For around $30, they blowout and style your hair. I've been wanting to try then but had no excuse.
Another thing they offer is featherlocks. They are thin feathers that they crimp into your hair. They last about 3-4 weeks and can be styled like normal hair. Super fun and different.
So naturally Liz and I wanted in. Color selection was beyond hard. They have all sorts of colors, neutrals and brights.

Following the feathers, it was off to my place to change. Because we were going jumping! Sky High Sports offers an entire room full of trampolines. It's a blast.

Real quick - Josie love!

We were a lot like super heroes.

After exhausting ourselves on the trampolines, it was time for drinks at the only quiet restaurant we could find, Palomino's. Yummy.

Then back for Sex and the City Marathon and bed.

It goes in the books as one of the BEST sleepovers ever!!!

The Rest of the Week

2011-02-23T21:00:00.000-08:00

The end of the week took for-ever! Longer than normal. Much longer. I'm sure it was because of the 3 day weekend. I had exciting big plans and could not wait for an extra day off.

I made it.

Of course there were some funny faces involved.

After a yummy lunch with my friend, Dana. The sun was beautiful out, but very misleading. I totally should have brought my coat...

Lizzie, thank you for taking this photograph and I'm sorry I made that face at you. It's terribly unattractive and even kind of mean... Sorry, doll.

This is some Coach love. That purse was my first big spend and it's beautiful. I just get nervous to use it. I mean, even the lining is pretty. What happens when lotion explodes or a pen leaks?! Now I'm getting nervous just thinking about it...

Auntie Meghan Love

Josie is crazy about almost everyone she meets. Human, of course. Other dogs are another story...

But Meghan is one of her favorite people in the whole wide world. Of course Meghan is a smidge more reserved than Josie. And where Josie chooses to enthusiastically show her love, I think Meghan prefers to shake hands.

They're not the best photos, but I loved the group of them together. Super cute.
