You may have noticed a decline in recent postings from me. This is due to a serious lack of equine subjects. When I'm in Virginia it's a lot easier to take enough photos to post on a daily basis, but at home all I have to be inspired by are 4 dirt-covered horses who don't do much more than eat and sleep. I promise to post new photos as soon as I have them. Found this photo of Fran and Mongo on my point-and-shoot camera when I uploaded recent photos of a camping trip to my computer.

Regardless of the fact that I never played with the toys or watched the TV show as a child, I really love the Transformers movies. I've already seen the second one once, and I'm going to see it, along with The Proposal, again tonight with Mallory. I love the depth of focus in this photo.

Last weekend in Lexington there was a Hot Air Balloon festival. There were 4 or 5 that landed in the hay field alone. I wasn't there to see it, but my friends at the barn called me to share in the excitement. This is a great photo by Jeff Nuckols, Gammon's husband. He has a great eye.

I've spent a lot of time on the couch over the past couple of weeks, and even more so since I've gotten home. Sarah lent me her seasons of NCIS on DVD, so I have been watching those. Abby is by far my favorite character. I've played with shots like this before. I like the effect of the dappled lighting on Dyna's fur. The colors aren't super bright, but the light makes her coat look all different shades of orange.
