Hello there! It's been a while since I last did a blog post, and I must say, it'll take me a quite a while to fully get used to the new blogger interface. But aside from that, I got a haircut today!!! </div>I wore my black shorts with tights and black pumps yesterday to work and then to an after-work event and I felt so chic and comfortable in them that I had to make this post for you. I think a good pair of black shorts can be easily substituted for a pencil skirt at times and easily worn dressed up to work (depending on how strict your work dress code is, of course). It's also a great transition piece to wear in Spring and Fall paired with tights, boots and cute heels - I'm loving this look recently!<br />

On Sunday afternoon we decided to check out the <a href="http://newsdesk.si.edu/releases/national-museum-american-indian-presents-power-chocolate-0">Power of Chocolate</a> festivities at the Smithsonian Native American museum and got caught in a crazy blizzard snow/rain on our walk over there. Once inside the museum though, the smell of freshly ground cocoa beans and brewing hot chocolate instantly warmed me up. After all the chocolate talk, smell and tasting I crave chocolate brownies! So, that's what I will be making on Valentine's day. We don't really celebrate the holiday but I like to at least bake something sweet for my sweetheart. <li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I read my all time favorite book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/East-Eden-John-Steinbeck/dp/0142000655/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1327850144&sr=1-1">East of Eden</a> and nearly finished it, but I can never get enough of this classic, it's a book of life - so many great lessons and thoughts to ponder about...I love it!</div></li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Finally, went to the post office and mailed our long-overdue Christmas and birthday gifts to both of our families...<span style="font-size: x-small;"><em>shame on me</em></span></div></li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Renewed our apartment lease for another year and scored a free carpet cleaning!</div></li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Browsed through shelves of World Market and ended up with <a href="http://www.worldmarket.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12479378">Biscoff</a> cookies, which taste delicious with my morning coffee as I type this...</div></li>
