An article written and posted to a site called ELITE Daily.   Lets take issue with the site name first.

What makes you elite? No seriously, I want to know. What makes you elite? Quite probably nothing but the site creators own hubris. Same as with a great many sites with similar nom de plumes.

Anyway. This article was called "If I were a boy" about what these women would do if they were a boy. In the mistaken belief that there A. Aren't any men out there who DON'T act in the manners in which they are complaining about and B. As if they are any different in the regard of some of what they are complaining about. I find their specious list amusing, and their contention that they would be any better as men then they SAY men aren't now...highly dubious. Okay fine, fine. I call bullshit, there you happy? Yeah I know you've come to expect a certain propensity for foul language and vitriol on my blog. I'll see if in responding to the rest of the article and the list itself I can't live down to your expectations. Ya reprobates. Article in italics and my responses in normal.

Chuck syphilis for brains Schumer thinks he's qualified to rewrite the 1st amendment of the constitution? He's not qualified to run a whorehouse. Hell that man isn't qualified to run his own life, let alone hold position in office.

Huh wait, WHAT? So he wants to rewrite the Constitution so in the name of "political equality for all"...we the people are supposed to trust this band of felonious mental incompetents currently in power...to decide whats fair and what isn't?

“The First Amendment is sacred, but… the First Amendment is not absolute. By making it absolute, you actually make it less sacred to most Americans. We have to bring some balance to our political system,” said the vainglorious, egotistical ass known as Chuck Schumer

Only one problem. As the article I link below points out...such an amendment would favor current sitting politicians almost exclusively. Making it difficult or next to/actually impossible to, for anyone from the civilian sector to go up against sitting politicians. Be they dems or repubs.

I'll freely commend anyone and agree with anyone who says that this amendment has about a snowballs chance in hell...or a penniless man's chance in a whorehouse, of passing. However the fact Schumer and his buddies including Tom Udall among others, has the unmitigated gall to even suggest such a thing should make you wonder...is anyone currently sitting in office, especially dems but repubs too...anyone you want making decisions for you, over your life? Because that is exactly where such an amendment leads. To an entrenched elite, that you can only get rid of through bloodshed.
The same kind of fight our founding fathers fought to FREE us from the same kind of entrenched elite. The same kind of fight they gave us, their descendants, The US Constitution to keep us from having to fight for as long as possible. So...from their perspective...do you think we're failing miserably? From your own personal perspective...give it some deep thought, same question.

My own answer? I'd have thought that would be obvious.

Matter of fact in both The U.S. AND the various State Constitutions, it specifically says that what power is not specifically given over to the government to do, belongs to the people. I'm sorry but there's no mandate in any of the various State Constitutions that specifically gives the government the power to tell us what,where, when,how and who with. Sorry. The Constitutions were written to LIMIT the Governments power over the people...NOT the reverse!

The Constitution is our founding Document. It is the document that says the Government is of, for and BY the people and the minute it ceases to be so, We the People can behead that government and start over again. Here's the problem. Too many don't understand that. Either through ignorance not of their own doing, which is failing to be an excuse anymore with the proliferation of information on the internet. Or willful ignorance.

Those who don't understand or are being told /taught that our "rights" and more specifically the Bill of Rights, the 1st 10 amendments that are enunciated in, enumerated in and PROTECTED BY the Constitution, aren't rights at all. They are being told and taught that our rights [that which is due anyone by just claim, legal guarantee or moral principle.]are government granted or allowed privileges.

Humans and their groups.. Humanity has been on the planet in it’s present for for about a quarter of a million years. That means that if you were to meet a person from 250,000 years ago he would be physically much the same as anyone walking the streets today. There would be no physical difference. Matter of fact...a neanderthal probably wouldn’t draw that much attention...particularly at a tractor pull..but that’s another story. As i was saying...Physically we look the same now as we did a quarter million years ago. How bout our minds? How quickly do our minds change? The deep roots of our consciousness? The crankshaft and gears of our ID? Just guessing...I’d say not much. Probably today’s mental machinery is pretty much the same as it was then. Now consider this. For all that time...people dealt with other people retail. People lived in small groups...family groups. Possibly twenty to fify. Call it clans perhaps? These small groups were then subordinate to a larger grouping...possibly a hundred or so. (Side note...consider the Army. Squads, fire teams and the company. the boys that get stuff done...everyone else supports THEIR mission) So...for a quarter million years the ruts are worn into our minds that the proper number of people to deal with...isn’t very many. A few hundred, a few thousand, a million...MORE? Well that’s just insane. Literally insane. Ever notice that the over all intelligence of a group DECREASES as the size increases? It's an inverse relationship. Of course the stupidist is the federal Government. Cant’ get any stupider than that. And that’s the problem.

Everyday in the news and across the internet, the publishing world etc, examples that Freedom of Speech is dead, or on it's way it's way to dying. Now it's freedom of speech for thee but not for me. Or you can say freedom of speech for me but not for thee. Pick whichever version makes you happy.

Freedom of speech, but only so long as it's politically correct, officially approved by the committee speech. Go against the borg gestalt and the gestalt will actively destroy you or make a damn good attempt at it.

How can I say such things? Open your fucking eyes and ears people. Here's the most recent example. An NBA team owner makes offensive comments. So he's been banned from the NBA and is being fined $2.5million dollars by the league. How did this come to light? Oh I don't know...maybe that supposed mistress he was supposedly fucking on the side that was recording everything he said, decided there was more money in controversy and writing a best selling memoir.

There was this "study" by Cornell University that "finds" that kids who hold with their hands and eat food on the bone,cob etc, iow rending with their front teeth...are more aggressive than those that use utensils to cut up and chew their food.

Whoopee shit. Yes yes one of those "feel good" nonsense days where everyone claims to love the earth, says all the right things, turns off all their electronics for an hour or 3 and goes out to gab, join hands with their neighbors and sing kumbaya..

Normally on this day I do a whole bunch of things to spit in the face of the earth but..today? *shrug* just too much effort. I don't have anything down from the freezer, so nothing to cook on the bbq pit, making whatever meat I cook scream in agony and the fire gods laugh with glee. Can't afford a monstrous water bill so no leaving the water running non stop and washing both vehicles with evil chemical cleansers, seeing as how I washed them sunday. OTOH a great many of the lights and electronics in the house are running full tilt boogie. The front and back yard got cut with that evil fossil fuel powered lawn mower. Oh the screams of pain coming from the grass and bugs was music to my ears. got the same thrill when I weedeated but alas...not for as long and not as much. Oh I did make my tree scream by trimming back some of the branches a little. still got more to go. So my "Spit upon earth day" anti earth day campaign wasn't a total wash out.

It's speciesism......oh fuck. The fact I came up with this in the wee hours this morning because I was awake, being upset and depressed....makes me feel like I just set loose a ball of carnivorous worms in my skull and I can feel them eating my brain. Dude...not even drunk or hungover[though I'd reallllly love to be the former right now given the way I feel] and I came up with this? Ow...just ow. *groan* oh god...

Okay lets see if I can get this all down. And yeah I'm probably gonna piss off a bunch of people. Anyone who's read this blog knows that I argue that what most people call racism, is in fact tribalism.

Differences of opinion and wars between tribes of people. To reiterate.. tribes exist in various forms...at it's base, tribe is family. In the macro it's nation. and there are almost as many types and sizes of tribes in between those two, as there are stars in the sky. A slight exaggeration to be sure but you get my point. Which in point of fact would make me a tribalist and a nationalist. OTOH those descriptives cover pretty much everyone on the planet. But what if it's something else in confluence with that? Species. People, even some who agree with me about a great many things political will say "how can it be tribe with the genetic differences that say...make blacks way more susceptible to certain diseases?"   Okay here's my answer. Sub genera of the same genus or...sub species...slight genetic offshoots of the same species. In other words. the Different "races" are still as I believe, tribes but they are also separate but equal offshoots of the same SPECIES. The one we ALL belong to...Homo sapiens. Therefore...I dub thee Homosapiens sub genus epicanthic[asians for the epicanthic folds of their eyes.] Sub genus africus[blacks], sub genus latin [latin descent...yeah I know that one makes too much sense and is too simple. stillll] Sub Genus Sahara[arabs...though they could probably fall as a sub set of the sub genus africus]. Sub Species caucasus. [white folk] Sub genus punjabi [indians and related tribes] Oh and sub genus...well crap...still need one for the American Indian..I don't know....sub genus Navajo? Why that? Why not?

So in addition to being a tribalist[and a member of several different tribes at that..some occasionally at odds with one another] and nationalist bastard; I'm also I guess a speciesist. Or maybe that should be Specieism and Speciest.    Has your head exploded yet? No? Oh well..I feel better. Okay fellow germs and virii. I'm...perturbed. [Shut up basset!]

There was here in Texas the other day a shooting of a 17yr old male. Why was he shot? well lets just reel off the highlights shall we?
A. he was in the bed of the 16yr old daughter of the man that shot him at 2 in the fucking morning.
B. He had a gun being held on him and was told not to make any moves.
C. he moved...father shot him..

Wait? more detail? Okay here's what we know so far.
1. The father was woken up by one of his 3 sons and told that there was noise coming from the daughters room.
2. Daddy grabs the gun to go check it out.
3. Upon entering he witnesses strange male in bed with his daughter.
4. When asked if she knew him the dimple darling daughter replied Nope.
5. 17yr old male told NOT to make any funny moves.
6. Apparently he went to reach for something and the father, reasonably...shot him.
7. It now comes out that...
a. Daughter in fact DID know the lad in question because
b. he was her "boy friend" So she let him in. So...
c. because she lied to daddy, that boy is deader than the home cooked cheeseburger that graced my plate for dinner night before last.

Is anyone mad at the daughter for lying? 2answers to that . some are. the rest? Nope the rest are all decrying the "ebil" gun owing father who was doing, he thought, his goddamn job and protecting is daughter and the rest of his family! He didn't know the 17yr old lad in question. For all he knew the lad when he moved was going for a weapon of his own. Therefore...for my money, fully justified shooting for what information he had at the time!

Someone on a friends facebook post about this commented that both daughter and father should be charged with manslaughter. Uhhhh...how about....... NO! Again, fully justified shooting for what the father knew at the time.

Couple questions come to mind.
If that lad was truly her boyfriend...why hadn't the father met him yet?
Had anyone ELSE in the family been intro'd to the boyfriend? Like saayy...mommy? [who was according to reports, at work.]
How long had they been 'dating'?

See,,,way I was raised...at some point in the dating process, preferably early...I'm gonna end up introduced to the ladies family. Now I never did any dating in high school was a shy fat kid who was bullied alot. So I didn't see any reason to put myself out there to be hurt more. If I had dated I'd have fully expected to meet at least SOME of her family when I picked her up for our first date, or 2nd date, or 3rd etc.....not be invited into the house and into her bed at 2 in the goddamn morning! OTOH I don't think I'd have been out and over there that late anyway, so the boy is as guilty of stupidity in this case as the daughter.

So again...for my money, the girl is directly responsible for her "boyfriends" death. So is he, but he's already paid the ultimate price for his and her folly. I wonder how the boy reacted to her telling that lie to daddy, right then and there. Betrayed? Understanding because he didn't want her getting into huge trouble with pops? Welll we'll never know the answer to that one now. Will we?

So to finish up, if she hadn't lied to daddy the boy would still be alive. He may very well have been handed a beating, and a talking to in the process between blows as was his due at that point, but he'd still be alive. The girl would have probably been grounded for a good long while, but she wouldn't now have to live with the catastrophic results of her stupidity. If you find my attitude strange let me put it another way. Sorry...you do NOT lie to your father because you don't want to get into trouble/grounded when he's holding a gun on your "boyfriend" goddammit!!!

Interesting case up Jersey way. an 18yr old is suing her parents for private school tuition, her pending college fees and legal fees engendered by her lawsuit of her parents.

Now she claims her parents threw her out of the home upon her 18th birthday

Rachel Canning claims she’s been out of her parents’ home since her 18th birthday, Nov. 1, after her parents vowed to cut her off “from all support both financially and emotionally.”

However her parents say she threw a temper tantrum and stormed out of the house and they've since cut her off because of her inability to abide by the "house rules" of her parents. Which...most parents have in one form or another.

Sean Canning says the athletic, brainy teen refused to follow the rules of his home, like being respectful, doing chores, coming home by curfew and breaking off a relationship with a boyfriend the parents dislike.
Okay...the 1st 3 rules of the house mentioned aren't that heinous. Sorry kids...but it's for your own good. I never had to worry much about rule 3 because well..I was never one to go out with friends because frankly..I didn't really have any. As for rule 4 which is really an ultimatum not a rule. 1. why do the parent's dislike the boy so much? is he abusive? manipulative? Maybe he's a player and their girl is to far gone in love to recognize or acknowledge it? Or is it just a case of "no one is good enough for daddy's girl"? I'm not a father but I am a doting, protective uncle and I'm already trying to figure out what I'm gonna do with the bodies of anyone who hurts my nieces. I'm leaning towards the purchase of a large industrial grade woodchipper at the moment.

One wonders why her friends father is footing the bill of this lawsuit? Call me a cynical, suspicious son of a bitch if you want but...this makes me...a tad uneasy. Note the latter statement is again coming from a doting uncle who's nieces have had him wrapped around their little fingers since they were born, and I'm still a tad suspicious of this.

Now frankly? if she did walk out in a snit as the parents contend? I'd have probably not cut off the tuition for the kid's final year of high school. I'd have paid that off so she can finish her schooling if she hasn't already and let her go on her merry way. Then there is the bit about them diverting the funds they'd put aside in an account for her college? Shrug. One guesses that the money in that account was provided for by the parents and not her from the sounds of it, therefore it's still their money. Now if it was a trust fund set up in her name that she couldn't touch til a certain point...I'm not sure what the law on that would be.

If as she contends they threw her out? Then yeah she might have a case. However at 18 you are legally and adult sooo..I don't know.

I've got multiple questions about this brouhaha that ain't been answered and might not be for the forseeable future...so I'll reserve judgement.

I'm worried boys and girls. And a bit scared. Only a FOOL wouldn't be with what's happening in the news lately. Perpend......

Now last year Connecticut...the state legislators and the Guv...passed and signed into law a bill that required registration of weapons and magazines before the law made some of them illegal to own. In the wake of that...the press and the gov't of connecticut acted all shocked and shaken and shit over the the fact that 10's of thousands of gun owners REFUSED to register their weapon in open defiance of this asinine, unconstitutional diktat. That law lads and lasses stated that all owners of "military style" weapons had until Jan 1st 2014 to register those weapons and get the state to recertify them to own the weapons by issuing an "assault weapons" certificate which would allow them to keep said weapons. Any magazine over 10 rounds is summarily banned and all of the; what we would call "standard capacity magazines" [ie anything over 10rounds] also needed to be registered.

And now drops the other shoe...as the connecticut gov't in the guise of the state troopers send out the first round of confiscation letters to 106 AR15 owners that failed to make the deadline, and one hundred...15 I think it was, magazines registered..Now have a choice...

2) Sell the weapon/magazine to a licensed dealer;

3) Remove the assault weapon/magazine from the state; or

4) Make arrangements to relinquish the weapon/magazine to a police department.

Oh did I mention that Everyone who failed to register can now be convicted of a class D felony? Class D is the low end of the scale. Punishable buy between 1-5years in prison and up to a $5000 fine. One assumes this is per count[per weapon or magazine in this case] making it stackable and the time spent in prison long and the fines possibly ruinous.

I think that whatever happens in Connecticut will possibly be the proverbial final straw that breaks the camels back.

THIS time boys and girls it's gonna be guerilla warfare. It's going to last a good long while. It's going to be snipers taking out gov't officials, sneak raids on government offices, car bombs, bombs in government offices, police stations and probably military posts where the soldiers don't shoot their own commanders for giving the illegal order to make war upon their sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, cousins etc etc whose only crime AGAIN was to exercise their constitutional enumerated and protected rights. There will be no middle ground in this fight., no sitting on the fence. If you sit on the fence you'll be considered an unaffordable liability and an enemy by BOTH sides. Just to give you a few examples that friends and people I trust use because they are known of by people. This is going to be like Beirut. This is going to be like Afghanistan when we aided what would become the taliban/al queda, in throwing out the Russians. This is going to be like Ireland, both in their fights against the british; AND against themselves via the catholics and protestants. Except this won't be happening on some far off shore, in which the people will be distanced from it and read about in the papers or watch it on the news, like some TV show drama. Oh no boys and girls this...THIS is going to be on our own soil. Our own goddamn doorsteps!

What rises from the ashes of that free for all is also disputed. Some hope for a resurgence of freedom and honor and personal responsibility such as it was in our founders time. I know this...it will NOT be the America most of us my age grew up in as children. It won't be the country our parents and grandparents grew up in. For my money? We will either end up as a region of balkanized states. Some of which may follow the founding principles, many which won't. A region that will constantly be at war with itself because those that follow the guiding principles of our founding fathers will be beacons and those who would do what connecticut and california and New York are doing will not be able to STAND to have those shining examples of the exact opposite clusterfucks that those 3 afrorementioned states are examples of. [IOW for those that have read the series...The Ashes, aka Ben Raines series written by William Johnstone....without the nuclear detonations in some place and the cannibals. And yes the criminal element is going to have a BALL]
The other option? We'll end up a tyranical nation as a whole. Either militarized and aggressive to a fare thee well against other nations, and an EMPIRE in truth. Orrr... a tyranny such as Venezeula, or the old USSR {Soviet Russia for those that failed miserably to pay attention in history class] and other communist nations.

But with some of the stuff going on right now, including multiple surgeries and doctors visits for my mother...just ain't got a lot of time to give you the ranty goodness ya'll deserve. Hopefully [please god!] things will settle down by the end of the month, to the point where I can sit down and do a couple more rants. Think for a moment about the current state of this nation.

The majority of Americans are not even conservatives, do not consider themselves republicans. In fact, the republican party is losing members. Many in the republican demographic are relocating to cemeteries. Others are losing patience and declaring themselves as independents.

Just a sign that they are sick of a republican national committee, that is every bit as back room dealing, back stabbing and underhanded as teh "chicago machine" inspired, democrat party. Acting as a check and balance on an executive branch that's growing ever more...used to having it's own way and over exercising[to put it mildly] it's powers and reaching in ways it was never meant to. How have they done this? Forex....Filibusters. Both sides have done it. 2 very well known ones recently...probably the only true filibusters of the last couple decades. Wendy Davis here in Texas in teh Texas state congress and Ted Cruz in the federal one. I'll be blunt, I don't like Wendy Davis. However...she stood up for what she believed and filibustered...in favor of a subject that makes me want to puke. Ted Cruz did the same thing on the federal level and the reasons for his were even more worrisome...in that I wish he hadn't had to do the filibuster. To try to get people's attention to a subject that should worry everyone. The difference is Wendy Davis, was praised as a hero. While Ted Cruz has been cast as the ebil "obstructionist" tea bagger. snort hahahahaha, Oh man that's FUNNY shit right there! NOT.

They have seized power by gerrymandering and denying voting rights. They have repeatedly lied, misrepresented, misdirected, and propagandized. They have worked to convince Americans that we cannot trust our own government -- a government that was designed to be by the people, of the people, and for the people ... and accountable to the people.

Very rarely do they question anything Obama or the Dems in congress do. They go out of their way to NOT ask questions that others are asking. They are in short owned, used, abused and trained lap dogs for the Government. Another bunch of useless fuckwits who've forgotten what their purpose is.

The robber barons and the corporations have bought our electoral process, have seized control of our media, have distracted us with phony issues to keep us from noticing that they are polluting our air and our water and our food, crippling the working class, and punishing the poor, all while further enriching themselves and putting the burden on our backs.

To be blunt, we are living behind enemy lines. Our schools and libraries are being diminished, our colleges are being made too expensive for working class families, health care costs have risen drastically. The minimum wage has not kept pace with the cost of living.

Yep still bullet points. However...how are our schools being diminished? If you mean more and more people are electing to send their kids to private schools or electing to home school, then yes...they are to a small extent. As far as libraries? It's a function of technology. As a Scifi aka speculative fiction, author...you SHOULD understand this. More and more people are going electronic. Therefore more and more of the information they need is in that medium so they don't need to go to the libraries. I like both forms, dead tree and ebooks but...space is valuable so more of my stuff is going to ebook form.

Being nostalgic for the fifties isn't misguided. In the fifties, the corporations paid their fair share, the richest salaries in the nation were not exorbitant and outrageous, and you could live on the minimum wage.

Generally it's "conservatives" who are supposed to be pining for the old days. Those same conservatives get ripped by the the tolerant "peace and love' liberals for wanting to bring back segregation, no abortions, unless they were back alley ones and an end to civil rights. Ahh but you do it and all the sudden it's not misguided it's a return to the Golden Age? Sure it is. and horses will dance and pigs will fly, and giant birdies will shit gold bricks from the sky. Seriously? I wouldn't mind the latter...lord knows I, like a great many others could use the money. Just have to keep a weather eye on the sky so you don't get pole axed by a gold brick.

What we have lost -- more than anything else -- is the ability to curtail the power of the corporations, and those who would buy our electoral process. We cannot even depend on our news media to tell us the truth, because the ratings-obsessed media is more interested in Justin Bieber than the revolution in the Ukraine.

Oh I'll agree with you on the media in part. I was more than a little disgusted by the lack of coverage in the PPM of the current revolution under way in the Ukraine. Hmmm I wonder if they aren't mentioning it because the government doesn't want us, We the People, to get ideas. We might as was stated long ago...

During the sixties, we experienced a cultural revolution. We had a powerful civil rights movement. We had a powerful anti-war movement. But the leaders of those movements were assassinated and we returned to politics as usual and the gradual creeping control of corporations and robber-barons.

We won't even go into how I feel about the 60's save to say that outside of music, they are the polar opposite of yours.

This year, these mid-term elections will be critical. And so will the presidential election of 2016. No, we're not going to get the perfect congress and we'll never get a president who lives up to everyone's hopes and dreams.

Lets talk about that perfect congress. The Democrats have had marginal control of it since 2007, when Nancy Pelosi took the speakers gavel. At that point things really started moving down hill rapidly. Fast foward to the 08 elections in which with Obama winning for president and many more seats being turned over to the democrat; the democrats had uncontested control of 2 of the 3 branches of government. Iron fisted control of all 3 houses. White, Senate and Representatives. What did they do with those two years Mr Gerrold? Did they pass a single budget? Which is, you know, one of their main jobs? Nope..they couldn't be bothered because now that they had teh power they figured they could do anything they wanted. They also figured what "We The People' wanted, mattered not one whit because they were the ones with the power...not us. Sadly the worthless whores have forgotten who they fucking work for.

But we do need pragmatic men and women who have a genuine vision of a future that works for all of us, with no one and nothing left out. We need a congress and a president who are willing to work together to actually solve problems and not beat ideological horses to death while collecting six figure salaries for doing nothing.

I'm guessing our definitions of pragmatic are two different things. There is no such thing as utopia. It's a lie, a fairy tale told to children. There will always be those that suffer. Always be rich and poor. There will always be those that for one reason or another are as you say "left out". As far as the last half of your statement? Dude I've been screaming about those salaries for many a year. Oh did you hear several years back they tried to vote their spouses retirement packages?!   You might have because as I recall , that one was actually covered in the PPM. I'd like to cut their pay, alas it's covered and protected by the constitution. They also seem to vote themselves automatic pay raises every few years. Something else that pisses me off to no end. We also need "term limits" one, maybe two terms then back to your old regular life. "Politician" should not be a career goal, it should be, and is to me, a CURSE and a bad word.

In the fifties and sixties -- even into the eighties and nineties -- republicans and democrats worked together to achieve compromise and consensus. We made progress. Sometimes it wasn't fast enough, sometimes mistakes were made -- but the processes of negotiation worked. Our government worked until two things happened -- until one political party declared that "government is the problem" and allowed the radicals and the fanatics to believe that outright obstruction was preferable to solving problems.

And here we're just gonna part ways again. 1. progress isn't always a good thing...depending on what we are progressing on or in. As to the second bit? Because frankly government IS the problem.   We are supposed to have a "limited" government. What we have now and for the last couple decades is so far from that we might as well be living on either another planet or a parallel universe.

If our electoral system truly represented what the majority of American people want, need, and believe in -- there wouldn't be a lot of republicans in Washington DC. Not because there's something wrong with conservatism, but because there's something drastically wrong with what those who call themselves conservative have become.

Ahhhh...see you started this whole thing with insults an a huge assumption. Now you're still being insulting and you're making an even larger assumption. Remember the old saying about assumptions and where they lead?

If you're still a republican, look around -- look at the people who "lead" your party, who supposedly speak for you. Rush Limbaugh? Really? Fox News? Really?

I've covered that in part in my response involving the RNC. Rush? You know what irritates people so much about Rush? Is that he can predict with 90 someodd percent accuracy EXACTLY what a liberal is going to say or do. Fox? Again back to the PPM...at least Fox is a tad more honest than the PPM.

Look at the candidates. Sarah Palin? Chris Christie? Mike Huckabee? Ted Cruz? Rand Paul? Paul Ryan? Do you really think any of these people have the kind of character to address the problems of working class Americans? Really? The top echelons of the republican party are so out of touch with reality that they have no idea what's really happening in our nation.

Actually I like Sarah Palin. I think she'd be awesome. Christie? You couldn't give him to me gift wrapped. Huckabee? I like him better on the tube as a commentator than a politician. Cruz? He's not perfect but better than most of the alternatives, especially those alternatives on the "left". Etc Etc.   The top echelon of the "republican party"? Try the entire US fucking government, with bloody few exceptions...is out of touch with reality. Which is why the government needs an axe taken to it. Okay for my friends out there that like things that go BOOOM!...I wouldn't object to high explosives being used to do the pruning.   Daytime explosions only please lads and lasses.

Here's what we need --

We need to invest BILLIONS in education.

WE invest more than any other 1st world nation out there with the exception of...Sweden iirc; in education. Try again.

We need to invest BILLIONS in infrastructure.

That one I'll grant you, but outside of interstate highways and bridges...that one is the sole responsibility of the states and the private corporations. The latter in the case of the railroads.

We need to find ways to make college accessible for every American.

Not really Mr Gerrold. See not everyone NEEDS to go to college. This is the great injustice that is being, and has been perpatrated on the young. People are all different. some learn different. You can't expect to shove them all in a single box labeled "college" and expect good results. A great many can and do benefit from simple Vocational or Tech schools. Why does everyone need to go to college? Frankly we need to bring Vo-tech training back to schools as optional courses. As for it getting more expensive...they keep getting more and more expensive as more and more gov't dollars are made available to pay for it all. Hence pricing those who don't want to pay extortionist prices out of it.

We need to raise the wages of our troops, we need to expand their benefits.

That one we agree on.

We need to find ways to make home ownership accessible for working class families.

Hmmm yes and no. Get the government out of the way, so the businesses come back and make the training available and you don't need to make home ownership more accessible to "working class families" via government interference. Because the working class will be able to afford it on their own.

We need to raise the minimum wage.

Not only no but "are you out of your fucking mind?" No. I have friends with family still back in the land of Oz[australia] Minimum wage for a great many jobs is at teh $20 mark. One of the sons of a friend makes $22 an hour washing dishes yet can't afford to live on his own. He lives with 4 other people. Another one makes $24 an hour and still can't live on his own. This is the future you envision?

We need to close the tax loopholes on corporations and bring the offshore jobs back home.

No we need to reduce the regulatory burden so it's as cheap or cheaper, or at least somewhat worthwhile to bring those jobs home. We also need to train for the jobs that will still be with us as well as the jobs of the future...not the jobs of the past

We need the 1% to pay their fair share of taxes.

Oh for fucks sake! Seriously? What would you consider fair? I suppose you want to raise the rates for the higher earnings brackets to upwards of 70-90 percent? Horseshit. I got a better idea. You want to TRULY be fair Mr Gerrold? Fine lets toss the current tax code. I have 0 problem with that. Lets replace it with an across the board flat tax. No deductions...period. Lets keep it simple to level the playing field shall we? No unnecessary complications. Everyone pays the same percentage every year. It doesn't get deducted from their pay checks each month. That 10% gets paid at the end of the year out of their accumulated earnings for the year. THAT is the definition of truly fair, Fairness however is sometimes a vindictive bitch because that would have the side effect of raising what the lower income and middle class pay every year. However I'll get the true satisfaction of saying, when people complain about the very rich or even mostly rich "what the fuck are you bitching about? they pay more in a year than you'll pay in your entire life, shut the fuck up" It can also be applied to the just moderately well heeled, the small business owners and entrepeneurs. "What the fuck are you bitching for dude? those people will pay more in one year than you'll pay in the next couple/several years." Still you wanted "fair" and a way to make sure the "rich" pay their fair share, there it is. Don't bitch to me if you don't like it because it IS fair.

We need to end the social security cap.

I got a better idea, get rid of social security and let people be responsible for their own planning for the future. SS has destroyed this in a great many people the last couple generations. Including the "younger" generations now, the 'millenials".

We need to make sure that SNAP benefits and unemployment benefits are strong enough so that people can feed their families and keep their homes.

No. I have a better idea. Streamline the job finding process. Oh and leave that to the states. For the states, and counties, know best what is needed job wise in their areas.

We need to deal with the immigration issue fairly and compassionately.

I am sooo not going to go there because that statement just supremely pisses me off. If you think this issue pisses me off, talk to people who actually emigrated LEGALLY and went through the system.

We need to invest BILLIONS in research and development -- medicine, space, energy. We can do that by providing tax breaks and other incentives across the board. The return on that will be enormous.

And finally -- we need to stop vilifying whole classes of people as a justification for using the law to punish them.

I really wish you'd have been more clear here. Given more specifics rather than a general broad brushstroke. You didn't so, oh well. Oh and with that wonderful statement about "fright wing teabaggers" aren't you vilifying an entire class of people? All of these things listed above will accomplish two things -- first, it will create jobs. (Don't take my word for it, open an economics book, a history book, and see what happened every time we did that in the past.) And second, it will expand the gross economy of the nation, giving everyone a larger slice of the pie.

No, the democrats do not have all the answers, but at least they're making a sincere effort to address these issues. Right now, the republican party has yet to put forth a realistic vision, let alone a workable plan. In 2012, they campaigned on jobs. Where are the jobs bills? They voted 40 times to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act, but they didn't vote on a single jobs bill ever.

Mr Gerrold. A? Creating jobs is the job of the private sector, and the people, not the governments. B. The government can help this a little bit by keeping regulatory burdens low and staying out of the goddamn way.
C. When we're in a situation like now, when the Government sector provides as many or more jobs than the private sector? The "government" is doing it exactly ass backwards to the way it's supposed to be done. Government is inherently evil in as far as there is such a thing. Our founders understood that, but they also understood "some" government was a necessary evil. Hence why they set it up to be a "limited" government. As I stated earlier we're so far from that it's fucking ridiculous. Our founders are probably fairly restless and annoyed if there is such a thing as an after life.

D. There were "jobs bills" proposed by the "republican" house. I looked at them. Some were crap. However....A couple of them actually probably would have been worth something. Guess what happened when they got to the Dem controlled senate? They died on Harry Reids desk. Like a number of actual proposed budgets, passed by the house.

So the rest of us have to regard the upcoming midterm election as critical. We have to make sure we get out and vote. The republicans are going to stir up their base because they want to keep control of the house and take control of the senate. We cannot let that happen. Seriously? does this dude EVER shut up? I probably wouldn't mind the State of the DisUnion speeches he gives every year...if he weren't constantly on TV giving speeches. I think this puppet has given more televised major speeches than the last 3 presidents combined.   Which is frightening if I'm anywhere near the truth on that. Research shows that one of the best investments we can make in a child’s life is high-quality early education. Last year, I asked this Congress to help states make high-quality pre-K available to every four year-old. As a parent as well as a President, I repeat that request tonight. But in the meantime, thirty states have raised pre-k funding on their own. They know we can’t wait. So just as we worked with states to reform our schools, this year, we’ll invest in new partnerships with states and communities across the country in a race to the top for our youngest children. And as Congress decides what it’s going to do, I’m going to pull together a coalition of elected officials, business leaders, and philanthropists willing to help more kids access the high-quality pre-K they need.
Last year, I also pledged to connect 99 percent of our students to high-speed broadband over the next four years. Tonight, I can announce that with the support of the FCC and companies like Apple, Microsoft, Sprint, and Verizon, we’ve got a down payment to start connecting more than 15,000 schools and twenty million students over the next two years, without adding a dime to the deficit.

We’re working to redesign high schools and partner them with colleges and employers that offer the real-world education and hands-on training that can lead directly to a job and career.

We’re shaking up our system of higher education to give parents more information, and colleges more incentives to offer better value, so that no middle-class kid is priced out of a college education.

Actually with more government involvement comes higher fees.
We’re offering millions the opportunity to cap their monthly student loan payments to ten percent of their income, and I want to work with Congress to see how we can help even more Americans who feel trapped by student loan debt. And I’m reaching out to some of America’s leading foundations and corporations on a new initiative to help more young men of color facing tough odds stay on track and reach their full potential.

10% of their income? Sooo...it takes them ever longer and longer and...probably with ever higher interest rates, to pay those loans back? This is good for them how?

As for "young men of color". *shrug* it has to start at home. If the parents don't give a damn...it's just naturally harder unless the kid has a teacher or friend bringing him onto the right track and that is irregardless of color.

The bottom line is, Michelle and I want every child to have the same chance this country gave us.

They do have that chance but they have to WORK for it. Even then they won't all succeed. Pay attention to the preamble "life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness." Pursuing means you have the chance to chase the dream. It does not mean you are guaranteed going to succeed. Way to many people fail to grok this.

But we know our opportunity agenda won’t be complete – and too many young people entering the workforce today will see the American Dream as an empty promise – unless we do more to make sure our economy honors the dignity of work, and hard work pays off for every single American.
Today, women make up about half our workforce. But they still make 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. That is wrong, and in 2014, it’s an embarrassment. A woman deserves equal pay for equal work. She deserves to have a baby without sacrificing her job. A mother deserves a day off to care for a sick child or sick parent without running into hardship – and you know what, a father does, too. It’s time to do away with workplace policies that belong in a “Mad Men” episode. This year, let’s all come together – Congress, the White House, and businesses from Wall Street to Main Street – to give every woman the opportunity she deserves. Because I firmly believe when women succeed, America succeeds.

Nope when Americans succeeds AMERICA succeeds. Irregardless of sex, melatonin content of skin or which side of the tracks you come from.

Men still make up 70% of the work force. That's as it SHOULD be because we're genetically wired that way from time immemorial. Men provide food and shelter, and protection and strength and women keep hearth, home, and the kids safe and warm. Some women aren't wired that way, that's fine. But to say ALL women have to join the workforce "because" is asinine.

Now, women hold a majority of lower-wage jobs – but they’re not the only ones stifled by stagnant wages. Americans understand that some people will earn more than others, and we don’t resent those who, by virtue of their efforts, achieve incredible success. But Americans overwhelmingly agree that no one who works full time should ever have to raise a family in poverty.

Yet the poor have been with us always. They always be with us. Some will succeed better than others. some will rise and some will never rise far. Then there are those that will rise only to fall flat on their faces. Yet here you are playing the envy card. You always play the envy "class warfare" card. Frankly dude you're starting to bore the hell out of me.

In the year since I asked this Congress to raise the minimum wage, five states have passed laws to raise theirs. Many businesses have done it on their own. Nick Chute is here tonight with his boss, John Soranno. John’s an owner of Punch Pizza in Minneapolis, and Nick helps make the dough. Only now he makes more of it: John just gave his employees a raise, to ten bucks an hour – a decision that eased their financial stress and boosted their morale.

Yes but if John gave everyone raises...was it because someone told him he HAD to? Or was it a personal and business decision because his business is doing well?   Therein lies the question, and the rub, on that one.

Tonight, I ask more of America’s business leaders to follow John’s lead and do what you can to raise your employees’ wages. To every mayor, governor, and state legislator in America, I say, you don’t have to wait for Congress to act; Americans will support you if you take this on.

Sure they will...till the price they're paying for goods and services go up.
And as a chief executive, I intend to lead by example. Profitable corporations like Costco see higher wages as the smart way to boost productivity and reduce turnover.

Again that's the personal choice of the companies owners. Which is fine for them...but expecting EVERYONE to do it is asinine. What do you want? Innovators or mindless robots?

We should too. In the coming weeks, I will issue an Executive Order requiring federal contractors to pay their federally-funded employees a fair wage of at least $10.10 an hour – because if you cook our troops’ meals or wash their dishes, you shouldn’t have to live in poverty.

Sigh...and most federal contractors probably make that and more already. The government is VERY free with the peoples money after all.

Of course, to reach millions more, Congress needs to get on board. Today, the federal minimum wage is worth about twenty percent less than it was when Ronald Reagan first stood here.

Why is that Obama? Mr President? Could it possibly be because the federal government has been printing money like it's free? Thereby devaluing the dollar? Naaahhh that couldn't POSSIBLY be why, or you as an honest sort would have mentioned it right?

Tom Harkin and George Miller have a bill to fix that by lifting the minimum wage to $10.10. This will help families. It will give businesses customers with more money to spend. It doesn’t involve any new bureaucratic program. So join the rest of the country. Say yes. Give America a raise.

Only if they've earned it Mr President. Minimum wage jobs are minimum wage jobs for a reason. They are meant to be a stepping stone, a holding place while you go to school, or trade school what have you, to learn skills to make you more marketable to companies and therefore...worth paying more to. They are not, should not, and never were meant to be permanent careers. Unless the company you are currently making minimum wage from, is your goal...to get higher in that company. Sigh everyone tends to forget that.

There are other steps we can take to help families make ends meet, and few are more effective at reducing inequality and helping families pull themselves up through hard work than the Earned Income Tax Credit. Right now, it helps about half of all parents at some point. But I agree with Republicans like Senator Rubio that it doesn’t do enough for single workers who don’t have kids.

Sigh..."inequality" as you call it, has always existed. It's not "inequality" it's simply the score card of life. Again there have always been those who do better than others and yet you and those like you constantly penalize and villify them for their success. Saying they should pay "their fair share", playing the class penile envy game constantly.

So let’s work together to strengthen the credit, reward work, and help more Americans get ahead.
Let’s do more to help Americans save for retirement. Today, most workers don’t have a pension. A Social Security check often isn’t enough on its own. And while the stock market has doubled over the last five years, that doesn’t help folks who don’t have 401ks.

That’s why, tomorrow, I will direct the Treasury to create a new way for working Americans to start their own retirement savings: MyRA. You talk about this as if it's something new. It's not. Up until social security..one of the biggest ponzi schemes ever...most people who could saved on their own. They scrimped, it was hard as hell but it was doable but they managed. Then came the magic unicorn of the Social Security system and people started to stop worrying about saving on their own and managing their own monies because "hey! uncle sammy will do it for me, so I don't have to stress about it!" *headdesk*

One last point on financial security. For decades, few things exposed hard-working families to economic hardship more than a broken health care system. And in case you haven’t heard, we’re in the process of fixing that.

Actually you're going to make it an even more strained, colossal cluster fuck. The way to truly start fixing it would have been Tort reform and malpractice reform to protect medical care professionals from frivolous lawsuits. Seriously does anyone who goes to the doctor have any concept of what those poor bastards and bitches pay in malpractice insurance to cover their asses so a lawsuit won't ruin them? By all means if they actually fuck up, then they should pay a penalty. But when as is the case in some of the cases i've read over the years...it's people acting against medical advice then acting all shocked and shit when something goes horribly wrong...why the hell should the doctors pay for your decisions. Note..I'm not saying doctors are always RIGHT. What i'm saying is if they do get caught fucking up in a big way...then by all means throw the book at them, after some investigation bears that supposistion that they fucked up big time, up. However...investigate because just as in a criminal case...you are innocent until proven guilty and should be given the benefit of the doubt. To not do so well if I believed in Karma I'd say your about to be turned into a frog and boiled alive.
A pre-existing condition used to mean that someone like Amanda Shelley, a physician assistant and single mom from Arizona, couldn’t get health insurance. But on January 1st, she got covered. On January 3rd, she felt a sharp pain. On January 6th, she had emergency surgery. Just one week earlier, Amanda said, that surgery would’ve meant bankruptcy.
That’s what health insurance reform is all about – the peace of mind that if misfortune strikes, you don’t have to lose everything.

No...it's the biggest gamble in the world. It's also a BUSINESS and businesses exist to make money. To deny that is ..... I'm getting tired of using the word asinine but it fits soo..*shrug* I suspect I'm gonna end up with a pre condition called DIABETES...if I don't start better care of myself. Do I expect an insurance company to pay or want to pay for my lifestyle choices? Not hardly.

First company I worked for didn't offer insurance to anyone not at least 5yrs an employee and a manager. *shrug* No big..I was young and healthy and didn't see any need to put money away for "medical insurance" 2nd Job? Again didn't pay til you'd been there a certain number of years...was a major national company, tried to go tits up and ended up closing all their stores in my state and then some. *shrug* Life's a bitch.
3rd company? Again needed to be there a certain amount of time...but I went and constantly butted heads with management over what I considered their rank stupidity and got fired before I could sign up for the insurance. such is life. Still don't have it because I'm still relatively healthy. At the moment. that could change and I freely admit that. But with the current regulatory atmosphere, my odds of getting on with a company that pays full bennies is slim. thank you oh so much obummer. The flip side of my personal equation in this is just that, personal so I won't go into it, but it's there.

And here’s another number: zero. Because of this law, no American can ever again be dropped or denied coverage for a preexisting condition like asthma, back pain, or cancer. No woman can ever be charged more just because she’s a woman. And we did all this while adding years to Medicare’s finances, keeping Medicare premiums flat, and lowering prescription costs for millions of seniors.

uhhh untrue. a great many people LOST their health care coverage and if they didn't saw their premiums double or triple because of obummer care. That's okay you don't have to mention that because I just did. It's a lie of omission though old boy.

Now, I don’t expect to convince my Republican friends on the merits of this law. But I know that the American people aren’t interested in refighting old battles.

Who says we ever stopped fighting? Dude you really don't pay attention and don't care do you?

So again, if you have specific plans to cut costs, cover more people, and increase choice – tell America what you’d do differently. Let’s see if the numbers add up. But let’s not have another forty-something votes to repeal a law that’s already helping millions of Americans like Amanda. The first forty were plenty. We got it. We all owe it to the American people to say what we’re for, not just what we’re against.
And if you want to know the real impact this law is having, just talk to Governor Steve Beshear of Kentucky, who’s here tonight. Kentucky’s not the most liberal part of the country, but he’s like a man possessed when it comes to covering his commonwealth’s families. “They are our friends and neighbors,” he said. “They are people we shop and go to church with…farmers out on the tractors…grocery clerks…they are people who go to work every morning praying they don’t get sick. No one deserves to live that way.”

Yeah Steve-o sold his soul. He had good intentions I suppose, but what road to where is paved with good intentions boys and girls?

Steve’s right. That’s why, tonight, I ask every American who knows someone without health insurance to help them get covered by March 31st. Moms, get on your kids to sign up. Kids, call your mom and walk her through the application. It will give her some peace of mind – plus, she’ll appreciate hearing from you.

Yes because if enough people don't sign up for your insurance, your obummer care "medical care for everyone" will fall flat on it's face.

After all, that’s the spirit that has always moved this nation forward. It’s the spirit of citizenship – the recognition that through hard work and responsibility, we can pursue our individual dreams, but still come together as one American family to make sure the next generation can pursue its dreams as well.

Yes but that's the choice of the citizens, the government shouldn't use coercien and law to force people to make those choices just because those are choices you see as "right".
Citizenship means standing up for everyone’s right to vote. Last year, part of the Voting Rights Act was weakened. But conservative Republicans and liberal Democrats are working together to strengthen it; and the bipartisan commission I appointed last year has offered reforms so that no one has to wait more than a half hour to vote. Let’s support these efforts. It should be the power of our vote, not the size of our bank account, that drives our democracy.

Truly it should be one citizen, one vote. We need an ID to buy liqour, we need ID to buy a smoke, We need ID to buy a gun, We need ID, or some sort of paperwork to prove you are who you say your are...go get your Drivers License. So WHY is it supposedly such a hard ship to require valid ID to vote? Seriously? Mexico does it.

Citizenship means standing up for the lives that gun violence steals from us each day. I have seen the courage of parents, students, pastors, and police officers all over this country who say “we are not afraid,” and I intend to keep trying, with or without Congress, to help stop more tragedies from visiting innocent Americans in our movie theaters, shopping malls, or schools like Sandy Hook.

Seriously? Why is it so much more abhorent when it's "gun" violence versus "knife, rock, baseball bat, lead pipe, or fists and feet" violence?    It's ALL violence so why is one worse than the other? The dirty little secret is it's not. See taking the guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens is about control. A disarmed citizenry finds it more difficult to fight back against an aggressive, intrusive and dictatorial government. Always remember that, anytime someone tries to restrict your right to keep and bear arms, free speech, assembly, freedom of religion etc...it's about dominance and control.

Citizenship demands a sense of common cause; participation in the hard work of self-government; an obligation to serve to our communities. And I know this chamber agrees that few Americans give more to their country than our diplomats and the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.
Tonight, because of the extraordinary troops and civilians who risk and lay down their lives to keep us free, the United States is more secure. When I took office, nearly 180,000 Americans were serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, all our troops are out of Iraq. More than 60,000 of our troops have already come home from Afghanistan. With Afghan forces now in the lead for their own security, our troops have moved to a support role. Together with our allies, we will complete our mission there by the end of this year, and America’s longest war will finally be over.

Yes and what's going to happen after we leave? Odds are it will all fall apart again. That part of the world is always busy with intercine warfare and pogroms and tribal genocide. *shrug*

After 2014, we will support a unified Afghanistan as it takes responsibility for its own future. If the Afghan government signs a security agreement that we have negotiated, a small force of Americans could remain in Afghanistan with NATO allies to carry out two narrow missions: training and assisting Afghan forces, and counterterrorism operations to pursue any remnants of al Qaeda. For while our relationship with Afghanistan will change, one thing will not: our resolve that terrorists do not launch attacks against our country.

The fact is, that danger remains. While we have put al Qaeda’s core leadership on a path to defeat, the threat has evolved, as al Qaeda affiliates and other extremists take root in different parts of the world. In Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, and Mali, we have to keep working with partners to disrupt and disable these networks. In Syria, we’ll support the opposition that rejects the agenda of terrorist networks.

Here at home, we’ll keep strengthening our defenses, and combat new threats like cyberattacks. And as we reform our defense budget, we have to keep faith with our men and women in uniform, and invest in the capabilities they need to succeed in future missions.
We have to remain vigilant. But I strongly believe our leadership and our security cannot depend on our military alone. As Commander-in-Chief, I have used force when needed to protect the American people, and I will never hesitate to do so as long as I hold this office. But I will not send our troops into harm’s way unless it’s truly necessary; nor will I allow our sons and daughters to be mired in open-ended conflicts.

LOLOL...the fight against islam and it's fanatical adherents has been going on for thousands of years. It's the very DEFINITION of an open ended, never ending conflict! All we're doing here is simply ending yet ANOTHER campaign in a thousands year long STRING of them. People are easy to kill. Ideas...much, much harder.

We must fight the battles that need to be fought, not those that terrorists prefer from us – large-scale deployments that drain our strength and may ultimately feed extremism.
So, even as we aggressively pursue terrorist networks – through more targeted efforts and by building the capacity of our foreign partners – America must move off a permanent war footing. That’s why I’ve imposed prudent limits on the use of drones – for we will not be safer if people abroad believe we strike within their countries without regard for the consequence. That’s why, working with this Congress, I will reform our surveillance programs – because the vital work of our intelligence community depends on public confidence, here and abroad, that the privacy of ordinary people is not being violated. And with the Afghan war ending, this needs to be the year Congress lifts the remaining restrictions on detainee transfers and we close the prison at Guantanamo Bay – because we counter terrorism not just through intelligence and military action, but by remaining true to our Constitutional ideals, and setting an example for the rest of the world.

Uhhh as far as gitmo goes...you're assuming their countries WANT them back. If I recall from what I've read for years...their countries won't even acknowledge they EXIST, nor do they want them back.

You see, in a world of complex threats, our security and leadership depends on all elements of our power – including strong and principled diplomacy. American diplomacy has rallied more than fifty countries to prevent nuclear materials from falling into the wrong hands, and allowed us to reduce our own reliance on Cold War stockpiles. American diplomacy, backed by the threat of force, is why Syria’s chemical weapons are being eliminated,

and we will continue to work with the international community to usher in the future the Syrian people deserve – a future free of dictatorship, terror and fear. As we speak, American diplomacy is supporting Israelis and Palestinians as they engage in difficult but necessary talks to end the conflict there; to achieve dignity and an independent state for Palestinians, and lasting peace and security for the State of Israel – a Jewish state that knows America will always be at their side.

current "palestinians" aren't really palestinians...they are other nationalities whose countries AGAIN don't want them. As far as Israel...you haven't exactly covered yourself in glory where they are concerned boyo.

And it is American diplomacy, backed by pressure, that has halted the progress of Iran’s nuclear program – and rolled parts of that program back – for the very first time in a decade. As we gather here tonight, Iran has begun to eliminate its stockpile of higher levels of enriched uranium. It is not installing advanced centrifuges. Unprecedented inspections help the world verify, every day, that Iran is not building a bomb. And with our allies and partners, we’re engaged in negotiations to see if we can peacefully achieve a goal we all share: preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Sigh even one of your own inspectors say you can't guarantee it.

These negotiations will be difficult. They may not succeed. We are clear-eyed about Iran’s support for terrorist organizations like Hezbollah, which threaten our allies; and the mistrust between our nations cannot be wished away. But these negotiations do not rely on trust; any long-term deal we agree to must be based on verifiable action that convinces us and the international community that Iran is not building a nuclear bomb. If John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan could negotiate with the Soviet Union, then surely a strong and confident America can negotiate with less powerful adversaries today.

In the case of those men, those that came between them...it was more a case of each side knew the other really couldn't win and neither wanted to really die so they maintained the status quo and in the case of Reagan...forced them to try and keep up by spending themselves stupid.

The sanctions that we put in place helped make this opportunity possible. But let me be clear: if this Congress sends me a new sanctions bill now that threatens to derail these talks, I will veto it. For the sake of our national security, we must give diplomacy a chance to succeed. If Iran’s leaders do not seize this opportunity, then I will be the first to call for more sanctions, and stand ready to exercise all options to make sure Iran does not build a nuclear weapon. But if Iran’s leaders do seize the chance, then Iran could take an important step to rejoin the community of nations, and we will have resolved one of the leading security challenges of our time without the risks of war.
Finally, let’s remember that our leadership is defined not just by our defense against threats, but by the enormous opportunities to do good and promote understanding around the globe – to forge greater cooperation, to expand new markets, to free people from fear and want. And no one is better positioned to take advantage of those opportunities than America.

Sigh, frankly boyo? I'm tired of of being the worlds policeman. tired of shedding our blood and our treasure, to protect the treasures of those who, if they don't hate us outright, hold us in contempt. I'm far from advocating isolationism. But if they want us to police the world there's got to be a cost to them involved.

Our alliance with Europe remains the strongest the world has ever known. From Tunisia to Burma, we’re supporting those who are willing to do the hard work of building democracy. In Ukraine, we stand for the principle that all people have the right to express themselves freely and peacefully, and have a say in their country’s future. Across Africa, we’re bringing together businesses and governments to double access to electricity and help end extreme poverty. In the Americas, we are building new ties of commerce, but we’re also expanding cultural and educational exchanges among young people. And we will continue to focus on the Asia-Pacific, where we support our allies, shape a future of greater security and prosperity, and extend a hand to those devastated by disaster – as we did in the Philippines, when our Marines and civilians rushed to aid those battered by a typhoon, and were greeted with words like, “We will never forget your kindness” and “God bless America!”
We do these things because they help promote our long-term security. And we do them because we believe in the inherent dignity and equality of every human being, regardless of race or religion, creed or sexual orientation. And next week, the world will see one expression of that commitment – when Team USA marches the red, white, and blue into the Olympic Stadium – and brings home the gold.

Let me tell you about one of those families I’ve come to know.
I first met Cory Remsburg, a proud Army Ranger, at Omaha Beach on the 65th anniversary of D-Day. Along with some of his fellow Rangers, he walked me through the program – a strong, impressive young man, with an easy manner, sharp as a tack. We joked around, and took pictures, and I told him to stay in touch.
A few months later, on his tenth deployment, Cory was nearly killed by a massive roadside bomb in Afghanistan. His comrades found him in a canal, face down, underwater, shrapnel in his brain.
For months, he lay in a coma. The next time I met him, in the hospital, he couldn’t speak; he could barely move. Over the years, he’s endured dozens of surgeries and procedures, and hours of grueling rehab every day.
Even now, Cory is still blind in one eye. He still struggles on his left side. But slowly, steadily, with the support of caregivers like his dad Craig, and the community around him, Cory has grown stronger. Day by day, he’s learned to speak again and stand again and walk again – and he’s working toward the day when he can serve his country again.
“My recovery has not been easy,” he says. “Nothing in life that’s worth anything is easy.”
Cory is here tonight. And like the Army he loves, like the America he serves, Sergeant First Class Cory Remsburg never gives up, and he does not quit.
My fellow Americans, men and women like Cory remind us that America has never come easy. Our freedom, our democracy, has never been easy. Sometimes we stumble; we make mistakes; we get frustrated or discouraged. But for more than two hundred years, we have put those things aside and placed our collective shoulder to the wheel of progress – to create and build and expand the possibilities of individual achievement; to free other nations from tyranny and fear; to promote justice, and fairness, and equality under the law, so that the words set to paper by our founders are made real for every citizen. We’ll need Congress to protect more than three million jobs by finishing transportation and waterways bills this summer. But I will act on my own to slash bureaucracy and streamline the permitting process for key projects, so we can get more construction workers on the job as fast as possible.

ROFLOL. Look...it ain't ALL obummers fault, SOME of the red tape happened under Bush's watch too. That being said...the absolute Explosion of rules and regulations passed by any number of the alphabet soup of 3 letter agencies, have happened pretty much all under Obummers watch. If he was REALLY that concerned about it...he'd have told all those agencies to sit the fuck down and shut the hell up, and made cuts to the agencies and their budgets just to make a point....if he truly gave a rats ass.

We also have the chance, right now, to beat other countries in the race for the next wave of high-tech manufacturing jobs. My administration has launched two hubs for high-tech manufacturing in Raleigh and Youngstown, where we’ve connected businesses to research universities that can help America lead the world in advanced technologies.
Tonight, I’m announcing we’ll launch six more this year. Bipartisan bills in both houses could double the number of these hubs and the jobs they create. So get those bills to my desk and put more Americans back to work.

Let’s do more to help the entrepreneurs and small business owners who create most new jobs in America. Over the past five years, my administration has made more loans to small business owners than any other. And when ninety-eight percent of our exporters are small businesses, new trade partnerships with Europe and the Asia-Pacific will help them create more jobs. We need to work together on tools like bipartisan trade promotion authority to protect our workers, protect our environment, and open new markets to new goods stamped “Made in the USA.” China and Europe aren’t standing on the sidelines. Neither should we.

We know that the nation that goes all-in on innovation today will own the global economy tomorrow. This is an edge America cannot surrender. Federally-funded research helped lead to the ideas and inventions behind Google and smartphones. That’s why Congress should undo the damage done by last year’s cuts to basic research so we can unleash the next great American discovery – whether it’s vaccines that stay ahead of drug-resistant bacteria, or paper-thin material that’s stronger than steel. And let’s pass a patent reform bill that allows our businesses to stay focused on innovation, not costly, needless litigation.

Actually what we know is the country that doesn't stifle businesses and become more concerned with regulations than making money hand over fist in a free economy is going to own the world because their products will be the STANDARD of the world. We used to have that in so many different markets it's ridiculous. Now?   I'm waiting for mention of climate change. What's he waiting for? Christmas?

Now, one of the biggest factors in bringing more jobs back is our commitment to American energy. The all-of-the-above energy strategy I announced a few years ago is working, and today, America is closer to energy independence than we’ve been in decades.
One of the reasons why is natural gas – if extracted safely, it’s the bridge fuel that can power our economy with less of the carbon pollution that causes climate change. Businesses plan to invest almost $100 billion in new factories that use natural gas.

Yes lets open entire POWER plants to use nothing but natural gas...we'll get into one of the effects of that in a minute

I’ll cut red tape to help states get those factories built, and this Congress can help by putting people to work building fueling stations that shift more cars and trucks from foreign oil to American natural gas. My administration will keep working with the industry to sustain production and job growth while strengthening protection of our air, our water, and our communities. And while we’re at it, I’ll use my authority to protect more of our pristine federal lands for future generations.

Republicans and Democrats in the Senate have acted. I know that members of both parties in the House want to do the same. Independent economists say immigration reform will grow our economy and shrink our deficits by almost $1 trillion in the next two decades. And for good reason: when people come here to fulfill their dreams – to study, invent, and contribute to our culture – they make our country a more attractive place for businesses to locate and create jobs for everyone. So let’s get immigration reform done this year.

The ideas I’ve outlined so far can speed up growth and create more jobs. But in this rapidly-changing economy, we have to make sure that every American has the skills to fill those jobs.
The good news is, we know how to do it. Two years ago, as the auto industry came roaring back, Andra Rush opened up a manufacturing firm in Detroit. She knew that Ford needed parts for the best-selling truck in America, and she knew how to make them. She just needed the workforce. So she dialed up what we call an American Job Center – places where folks can walk in to get the help or training they need to find a new job, or better job. She was flooded with new workers. And today, Detroit Manufacturing Systems has more than 700 employees.

Guess what? Texas already has a system. You go in and if you need a new skill to make yourself marketable...then they help you get a class in a skill. Texas has had these offices for a looonnng time. Actually I suspect most states do. The federal government can just stay the hell out of it.
What Andra and her employees experienced is how it should be for every employer – and every job seeker. So tonight, I’ve asked Vice President Biden to lead an across-the-board reform of America’s training programs to make sure they have one mission: train Americans with the skills employers need, and match them to good jobs that need to be filled right now. That means more on-the-job training, and more apprenticeships that set a young worker on an upward trajectory for life. It means connecting companies to community colleges that can help design training to fill their specific needs. And if Congress wants to help, you can concentrate funding on proven programs that connect more ready-to-work Americans with ready-to-be-filled jobs.

I’m also convinced we can help Americans return to the workforce faster by reforming unemployment insurance so that it’s more effective in today’s economy. But first, this Congress needs to restore the unemployment insurance you just let expire for 1.6 million people.
Let me tell you why.
Misty DeMars is a mother of two young boys. She’d been steadily employed since she was a teenager. She put herself through college. She’d never collected unemployment benefits. In May, she and her husband used their life savings to buy their first home. A week later, budget cuts claimed the job she loved. Last month, when their unemployment insurance was cut off, she sat down and wrote me a letter – the kind I get every day. “We are the face of the unemployment crisis,” she wrote. “I am not dependent on the government…Our country depends on people like us who build careers, contribute to society…care about our neighbors…I am confident that in time I will find a job…I will pay my taxes, and we will raise our children in their own home in the community we love. Please give us this chance.”
Congress, give these hardworking, responsible Americans that chance. They need our help, but more important, this country needs them in the game. That’s why I’ve been asking CEOs to give more long-term unemployed workers a fair shot at that new job and new chance to support their families; this week, many will come to the White House to make that commitment real. Tonight, I ask every business leader in America to join us and to do the same – because we are stronger when America fields a full team.

Sigh. unemployment insurance was never supposed to last as long as you silly shits have made it. If the federal government and many state governments weren't so busy driving off businesses...then many people wouldn't be unemployed, or in the cases of the really big corps, having their jobs outsourced overseas to countries like India.

Of course, it’s not enough to train today’s workforce. We also have to prepare tomorrow’s workforce, by guaranteeing every child access to a world-class education.
Estiven Rodriguez couldn’t speak a word of English when he moved to New York City at age nine. But last month, thanks to the support of great teachers and an innovative tutoring program, he led a march of his classmates – through a crowd of cheering parents and neighbors – from their high school to the post office, where they mailed off their college applications. And this son of a factory worker just found out he’s going to college this fall.

Good for him...but I suspect it was as much his hard work [and I expect a disciplined mother] as the teachers that got him where he is.

Five years ago, we set out to change the odds for all our kids. We worked with lenders to reform student loans, and today, more young people are earning college degrees than ever before. Race to the Top, with the help of governors from both parties, has helped states raise expectations and performance. Teachers and principals in schools from Tennessee to Washington, D.C. are making big strides in preparing students with skills for the new economy – problem solving, critical thinking, science, technology, engineering, and math. Some of this change is hard. It requires everything from more challenging curriculums and more demanding parents to better support for teachers and new ways to measure how well our kids think, not how well they can fill in a bubble on a test. But it’s worth it – and it’s working.

Okay I actually agree with what he says at the end there. For waaay too long our schools have taught TO the test. Teaching by rote memorization of material that's ON the test, instead of, for instance, teaching critical thinking. Teaching kids to be able to think for themselves to geek out answers on their own, instead of as he says "how well they can fill in a bubble on test". This is something I can wholeheartedly agree with. But! Yes there's another but in there. I don't believe the federal government should have ANY involvement in education. Leave the states to handle that. That's THEIR Job.   By the same token the states, cities and counties are failing in their jobs in this miserably. Multimillion dollar monuments to educational failure are constantly being built to "teach" the kids in.

The problem is we’re still not reaching enough kids, and we’re not reaching them in time. That has to change.

Okay you threaten a reporter on CAMERA! Just how stupid do you have to be to do this? Okay granted...as I've pointed out I loathe 4th estate and it's members with a ferocity that is frightening to witness. I hate the PPM with a passion, I'll admit. If it weren't so stupid for a politician to do this...I might actually be cheering this pol on. Might actually be sitting there chanting "toss him! toss him! toss him now!"

However...this reporters question was absolutely a legitimate question to ask. it's the kind of question they are supposed to ask of politicians that have been caught in some kind of fiscal hanky panky or penile patty cakes infidelity or what have you. To threaten this reporter, and on camera no less...was a stupid and criminal act. Or is that criminally stupid? Bah...doesn't matter how you phrase it. Grimm is a stupid fuck. The Governor should yank Grimm out of his seat or suggest his constituents recall his dumb ass; and then
A. The reporter needs to press criminal charges
B. This boil on the ass of humanity needs to be prosecuted
C. hold a special election or what ever is done in that particular state...to fill his vacant seat.

Okay boys and girl, lads and lasses, germs and virii. Here in begins a tale and a fisking. As usual my snarky and occasionally viscious commentary will be interspersed with the naked emperors words. I'm thinkin...my word will be in italics today. Or maybe...boldly underlined just to be atrocious. Okay maybe I'll skip the underlining that's just ugly.

Anyway...let the fisking commence!

Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, Members of Congress, my fellow Americans:

Your fellow Americans? I don't think you give one whit about "my fellow Americans" to be quite blunt about it. Outside of how you can use Americans against each other for your own gains. As for the rest? Speaker Boehner is a whining incompetent. Your VP, Joe Biden is just flat out incompetent. Okay lets be honest, he's a drooling idiot. Seriously Barrack? Why have you not found a nice padded room to put him in? As for the rest of Congress? The less said about how I feel about 95% of those asswipes the better.

Today in America, a teacher spent extra time with a student who needed it, and did her part to lift America’s graduation rate to its highest level in more than three decades.

You mean a teacher is actually *GASP!* doing his or her job? Shocking! Simply Shocking!   That graduation rate of course doesn't include the million plus students who DON'T graduate every year, and also fails to take into account those who will have to take remedial courses in college because they were just passed on to the next grade.

An entrepreneur flipped on the lights in her tech startup, and did her part to add to the more than eight million new jobs our businesses have created over the past four years.

*clap clap* She's living the american dream. congratulations.

An autoworker fine-tuned some of the best, most fuel-efficient cars in the world, and did his part to help America wean itself off foreign oil.

Seriously? WHAT weaning? If you mean the Arabs? Hell man...that's a joke. We already don't get most of our oil from the Middle East. More than half of it for the last couple years has been home grown.

A farmer prepared for the spring after the strongest five-year stretch of farm exports in our history. A rural doctor gave a young child the first prescription to treat asthma that his mother could afford. A man took the bus home from the graveyard shift, bone-tired but dreaming big dreams for his son. And in tight-knit communities across America, fathers and mothers will tuck in their kids, put an arm around their spouse, remember fallen comrades, and give thanks for being home from a war that, after twelve long years, is finally coming to an end.
Tonight, this chamber speaks with one voice to the people we represent: it is you, our citizens, who make the state of our union strong.

Blah blah blah blah. Seriously? Stop trying to connect with the people. The only time you see the people is when you look down to see what it is you're stepping on.   But you are right about one thing. It is WE The People who make this nation...not you.

Here are the results of your efforts: The lowest unemployment rate in over five years.

Yeah yeah and this doesn't include the huge number of long term unemployed that have dropped out and OFF the unemployment "insurance" rolls that are still unemployed....I could keep going but he gets into the following few sentences in more detail later so I'll get into it then..

A rebounding housing market. A manufacturing sector that’s adding jobs for the first time since the 1990s. More oil produced at home than we buy from the rest of the world – the first time that’s happened in nearly twenty years. Our deficits – cut by more than half. And for the first time in over a decade, business leaders around the world have declared that China is no longer the world’s number one place to invest; America is.
That’s why I believe this can be a breakthrough year for America. After five years of grit and determined effort, the United States is better-positioned for the 21st century than any other nation on Earth.

Nope I believe we're on the verge of an economic collapse personally . Your deficits cut in half? LOL. again failing to take several things into account.

The question for everyone in this chamber, running through every decision we make this year, is whether we are going to help or hinder this progress. For several years now, this town has been consumed by a rancorous argument over the proper size of the federal government. It’s an important debate – one that dates back to our very founding. But when that debate prevents us from carrying out even the most basic functions of our democracy – when our differences shut down government or threaten the full faith and credit of the United States – then we are not doing right by the American people.

And how many bills proposed by your opposites, never saw the light of day Mr. President? How many BUDGETS, you know the main part of congresses job, to pass budgets; DIED on Harry Reid's desk because they really would have cut spending drastically?

As President, I’m committed to making Washington work better, and rebuilding the trust of the people who sent us here. I believe most of you are, too. Last month, thanks to the work of Democrats and Republicans, this Congress finally produced a budget that undoes some of last year’s severe cuts to priorities like education. Nobody got everything they wanted, and we can still do more to invest in this country’s future while bringing down our deficit in a balanced way. But the budget compromise should leave us freer to focus on creating new jobs, not creating new crises.

Hmmm wonder how many people have read the bill. I haven't because it's another one of those damnable "Omnibus" bills. Frankly I find the republicans treasonous in this matter. Oh and since it's 12 different bills. Those bills and their agreements STILL have to be hammered out by the various appropriations committees so the "budget" ain't a done deal yet there oh Naked Emperor wanna be.

In the coming months, let’s see where else we can make progress together. Let’s make this a year of action. That’s what most Americans want – for all of us in this chamber to focus on their lives, their hopes, their aspirations. And what I believe unites the people of this nation, regardless of race or region or party, young or old, rich or poor, is the simple, profound belief in opportunity for all – the notion that if you work hard and take responsibility, you can get ahead.

We want you to focus on our lives? Where the hell did you ever get THAT idea? We want a good portion of the federal government defunded and eradicated and/or the spending in others cut WAAAAAAYYYY back. And we want you to rescind laws and regulations that make it harder to make money and KEEP it. I'd personally like to see the "estate tax" struck down. Your taxing the dead twice. Once while they're alive and again when they are dead and penalizing their heirs. All in the name of "fairness"

Let’s face it: that belief has suffered some serious blows. Over more than three decades, even before the Great Recession hit, massive shifts in technology and global competition had eliminated a lot of good, middle-class jobs, and weakened the economic foundations that families depend on.
Today, after four years of economic growth, corporate profits and stock prices have rarely been higher, and those at the top have never done better. But average wages have barely budged. Inequality has deepened. Upward mobility has stalled. The cold, hard fact is that even in the midst of recovery, too many Americans are working more than ever just to get by – let alone get ahead. And too many still aren’t working at all.

Yes Yes...lets play the class warfare game of penis envy. Those who have more are EBIL while those who don't are the 'taken advantage of' down trodden.   Dude you're so predictable it's really pathetic. What's next? The "RACE" card? Oh and whose fault is it that we're in this mess?

Our job is to reverse these trends. It won’t happen right away, and we won’t agree on everything. But what I offer tonight is a set of concrete, practical proposals to speed up growth, strengthen the middle class, and build new ladders of opportunity into the middle class. Some require Congressional action, and I’m eager to work with all of you. But America does not stand still – and neither will I. So wherever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, that’s what I’m going to do.

No old boy. Your job isn't to "reverse these trends" Again it's to get the government OUT of the way and let US, WE the PEOPLE fix and reverse the trend.

As usual, our First Lady sets a good example. Michelle’s Let’s Move partnership with schools, businesses, and local leaders has helped bring down childhood obesity rates for the first time in thirty years – an achievement that will improve lives and reduce health care costs for decades to come.

Riiiiight. And of course the business who have been promoting healthy living on their own had nothing to do with it right? Because "You didn't build that". Uh huh. I really like the new campaign with Subway.   Seriously are you trying to kill their business? Hell what did you promise corporate to get their cooperation?

The Joining Forces alliance that Michelle and Jill Biden launched has already encouraged employers to hire or train nearly 400,000 veterans and military spouses. Taking a page from that playbook, the White House just organized a College Opportunity Summit where already, 150 universities, businesses, and nonprofits have made concrete commitments to reduce inequality in access to higher education – and help every hardworking kid go to college and succeed when they get to campus. Across the country, we’re partnering with mayors, governors, and state legislatures on issues from homelessness to marriage equality.

Sigh...there IS no inequality. Those who WANT it, who are willing to work for it, will always be able to go to college. Here's the thing though. Not everyone is cut out for or NEEDS to go to college. Hell! A large majority of those in college should arguably be in a trade/cocational school learning a trade.

The point is, there are millions of Americans outside Washington who are tired of stale political arguments, and are moving this country forward. They believe, and I believe, that here in America, our success should depend not on accident of birth, but the strength of our work ethic and the scope of our dreams. That’s what drew our forebears here.

In part...the other part was a driving need to get away from a tyrannical overbearing asshole of a king, in England. To get way from the diktats of that King and his petty pissant little ministers of such and such.

It’s how the daughter of a factory worker is CEO of America’s largest automaker; how the son of a barkeeper is Speaker of the House; how the son of a single mom can be President of the greatest nation on Earth.
Opportunity is who we are. And the defining project of our generation is to restore that promise.

Your job isn't to RESTORE the promise Mr Community Organizer. It's to shut up, sit down, and stay the hell out of our way. How many times am I gonna say this? Probably about as many times as you say "iit's my/our job to"....

We know where to start: the best measure of opportunity is access to a good job. With the economy picking up speed, companies say they intend to hire more people this year. And over half of big manufacturers say they’re thinking of insourcing jobs from abroad.
So let’s make that decision easier for more companies. Both Democrats and Republicans have argued that our tax code is riddled with wasteful, complicated loopholes that punish businesses investing here, and reward companies that keep profits abroad. Let’s flip that equation. Let’s work together to close those loopholes, end those incentives to ship jobs overseas, and lower tax rates for businesses that create jobs here at home.

And ...HOW MANY TIMES HAVE THE REPUBLITWITS TRIED TO GET YOU TO DO JUST THAT?!   It ain't just the Tax Laws either. I'm going to say this til people are sick of hearing it. Hmm...come to think on it...people are probably already sick of hearing it.
It's more about needless regulations passed by an alphabet soup of agencies who only pass these regulations to be petty, to revel in their own power, and to justify their continued existence within the current power structure; than it is about Tax Code. though admittedly the Tax Code is a problem as well, and not just as the tax code involves businesses. Hell the whole Tax System and the IRS needs to be tossed in a rubbish bin and replaced. With something short, simple and sane.
