Hi Abigail - If I was in a position to write such a post, yes I would! For the record, I do this in an ongoing way, face-to-face though. Currently, I run in two primary circles - trainers, and web developers - and I'm pretty often explaining the point of view of one to the other.

Tina, it's great to hear you say that you "embrace the change" because it makes your job easier. It is our challenge to help everyone feel that way. While learning new technologies is high on the 21st century skills list, it begins with a change of attitude, building the desire to be a lifelong learner.

Also, the workplace is less tolerant these days of people who only have the tech skills but are lacking in other areas. Skilled communication, collaboration, leadership (even if "manager" is not in the title), global awareness ----all give a competitive edge in the job market, in addition to the willingness to learn new technologies as needed.

The 21st century and the economic crisis has called for a change in the demanding of skill for workers. Work standards have always exsisted, but I think that they are given more emphasis. the major skill that has cahnged is the technology skills. Technology is advancing day by day; which requires workers to adapt to the changes. I am a teacher and this year along, I have been introduced to several new technology programs. I enbrace the change because it makes my job easier, but not all people have that belief.
