NEW Leather Belts Made in Maine

Our new collection of Leather Belts are made from 100% Full-Grain US Leather, and are handcrafted right here in Maine!!

There are three designs of varying widths and buckle design. Each belt is named after one of the amazing places to climb and hike here in Maine.

The Katahdin shown above is 1 1/2" wide and features a solid brass buckle with a brushed silver finish.

The Cadillac is 1 1/4" wide and features a solid brass buckle with brushed silver finish as well.

Finally, The Baxter is 1 3/8" wide and features a solid brass buckle with an Old English Brass finish. The Baxter is made from unique pull-up leather and will change color as the natural oils in this rich leather migrate to create a warmly rich distressed appearance.

These are beautiful belts that will only get better with age.

The Valentine Bandit Strikes Again!

Every Valentine's Day here in Portland, ME the mysterious "Valentine's Bandit" tapes red hearts all over the Old Port.

It is one of Portland's most charming traditions. I was so glad to park my car and find that he had struck again this year!!!

Tortoise Hood Ornament

I LOVE this Tortoise Hood Ornament.

I think part of the reason I love it so much is because it reminds me of an old bell my Grandmother had on her dining table to call for the table to be cleared.

She had this wonderful turtle who stood near her place. When something was needed at a meal she would push down on either his head or tail and a little bell would tinkle and someone would come to assist her. As kids we adored that turtle! It made getting through even a formal meal much more fun!!

Years later the turtle found it's way to my parent's house. My brother and I loved to ring that bell, but in our house there was no one to come running to our assistance! Today I think the old guy sits on my father's desk in complete retirement.

As I was thinking about how much I loved the Tortoise Hood Ornament I realized it is probably because of the memory of my grandmother ringing her turtle at the table. So....the Tortoise would look fab on the front of my car AND remind me of the old Turtle bell!

Monogrammed Wine Glasses

We LOVE our new Personalized Monogrammed Glasses!

A New Needlepoint Eyeglass Case

There are many signs that I am getting older....My wedding anniversary dates are now in the double digits. My daughter is growing everyday. My class reunions now mark major blocks of time passed. Time is moving along.

This winter I spent several weeks in bed with pneumonia. During my stay in bed I read non-stop. One day I realized that the words were blurry!!! I have no idea how long I have been guessing what the words were (I think it may have been quite a while). It just never occurred to me that my perfect vision was not so perfect anymore! Yes, I was in complete denial!!

So, I have now faced the fact that I have entered the world of specs on the end of ones nose!
