This involves great patience, care and love.
Here in Libya we celebrate Mother's and Children's Day on the 21st March .Being a wife , mother ,homemaker, teacher , taxi- driver , leading a very stressful but rewarding life ALHAMDULILAH.

So hearing about the cancer stricken children at TMC from Akram (my non-biological son ),I decided to help out with whatever we could, to make this day, a day to remember for the mothers and children at TMC.
As you can see the children's faces even when painted have such sadness that you want to hug them and tell them it'll be over soon. I asked a teenager ( Basma) the oldest of the children on the ward what she had, to which she replied Leukemia . Such a big word for a child , I hugged her and felt her pain and she knew it . I had tears in my eyes as I desperately tried to comfort her to which she said it was the wish of Allah . She introduced us to the other suffering children as she was the oldest and knew what everybody had.

At our center we collected the money needed to make this day a happy one for both mother and child. Now, how we collected is something I have to tell you all about :
You see at our center id's are a must, but our trainees have to always be reminded of wearing them . It was that the idea occurred that whoever hadn't the id on would have to pay the penalty of paying up !
So what do think happened ??? They paid up and more ! At the end of the day everybody chipped in for the children………..

In the photo you see the box which was used as a piggy bank, for the charity, being opened and the money counted……..

The children who could walk and were not on chemo currently were invited to attend in a large colourful room with decorated walls with balloons and all the trimmings. Each month a different topic will be discussed – such things as : pair and group work, tests and exams, music in classrooms, strategies for getting students to write, blackboard and whiteboard use etc. No one person will be asked to prepare a presentation – the idea is that all the teachers come prepared to discuss and share their ideas with one another in the hopes that all will improve their teaching abilities.
The first gathering will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 10:00 am. The venue is Al-Shati School.
We will be discussing the concept of the teacher's forum at the first meeting and setting an agenda. The meetings will be held at a different school or location each month – this will be discussed at the meeting.
Please feel free to share this with those who might be interested.

LATC... I got up from my bed and went behind the door of my room. I knocked my door; I took my mobile phone and phoned my mother to come to me. My mother came, we checked together all the doors and rooms. We found them all closed. Suddenly we heard the sound again. We went to the source of the sound; we found a plastic bag moved by the wind in our balcony. We laughed, then we went to sleep again.

Omnia Abusaeda
Pre-Intermediate
LATC... The heat was stifling, and a hot east wind burned the skins as it blew. The streets were deserted. There was an empty silence which was occasionally broken by motor-cars.
He was in his upper room too uneasy to take a cat nap. His mother would not allow him to get out in“this killing heat”. “Children are supposed to give their bones a rest in such a heat” would say his mother. But his bones were aching for freedom outside those stifling walls: his bones were craving for the sand that would embrace his naked feet.
After moments of hesitation, he made up his mind. He jumped out of the window into the warm street. At the stadium, he joined his friends (whose mothers would not object or ask their children for a rest). They were awaiting him.
“You’re late mate.”
“Let’s start then friends” He answered them with a glorious and beaming smile. He played well that afternoon. He was happy and free in spite of his left foot. That damned foot hurt him when he jumped out of the window.
When he went back home, extremely satisfied, nor his mother nor her big stick could have robbed him the pleasure his younger brother had missed.

Abdelmoughit
LATC... The girl’s father, however, didn’t like the boy and didn’t want their love to grow. The boy wanted to write the girl a letter, but he was sure the girl’s father would read it first. At last, he wrote the following letter to the girl.

FIND ITS CODE

The great love I said I have for you
is gone, and I find my dislike for you
increases every day. When I see you,
I do not even like the way you look;
The one thing I want to do is to
look the other way. I never wanted to
marry you. Our last conversation
was very dull and in no way has
made me anxious to see you again.
You think only of yourself.
If I were married, I know I would find
life very difficult, and I would have no
pleasure in living with you. I have a heart
to give, but not a heart
I want to give you. No one is more
demanding or selfish than you, and less
able to care for me or be of help to me.
I sincerely want you to understand that
I speak the truth. You will do me a favor
if you consider this the end. Do not try
to answer this. You letters are full of
things that do not interest me. You have no
true concern for me. Good-bye! Believe me,
I do not care for you. Please do not think
I am still your loving friend.

Anonymous

To know the code read comment N0 1

LATC... I met her at the university in the first year. We enjoyed our time a lot. We had such a good time that we cannot forget. We laughed and sometimes we cried.
Now I know I can depend on her and I know when I have any problem she will try to help me, and if she cannot she will try to make the problem less serious. With my close friend I see my life with other eyes may be I see it simpler and happier. There are three main things that I should have realized at the first place. First, feeling sorry about my mother. It’s so painful to remind myself about the death of my mother, it’s the worst thing that makes me sad and regret, I always feel guilty about her. She suffered many painful diseases and I couldn’t help release her from suffering. I’m not satisfied because I think I didn’t make sufficient effort regarding her illness. I am really grief-stricken and my feeling is getting worst. If only I could go back in time, I would devote all my life to help her more and I’d be more satisfied now.
Second, I’ve just realized lately that I should thought deeply about migration to a European country. I think life wouldn’t be as terrible as it is now. I thought about living abroad ten years ago, but I hesitated in making the right decision. If I had taken the plunge to live in Europe, I would have had a better life and a decent job as well.
Third, being a geologist is interesting and I like the geological sciences, but I have discovered recently the geological jobs are restricted to the oil companies and limited places which are not available outside of Tripoli. I should have studied Civil Engineering instead of Geology.
Now I should think about the future and leave what happened behind. We only live once so we should give up thinking about bad experiences.
Ali Issa
Intermediate
LATC... One in every seven human beings can speak it. More than half of the books and three-quarters of international mail are in English. Of all languages, English has the largest vocabulary — perhaps as many as two million words and one of the noblest bodies of literature. Nonetheless, let’s face it: English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, neither pine nor apple in pineapple and no ham in hamburger. English muffins weren’t invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candy, while sweetbreads, which aren’t sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, public bathrooms have no baths and a guinea pig is neither a pig nor from Guinea. Any why is it that a writer writes, but fingers don’t fing, grocers don’t groce, humdingers don’t hum and hammers don’t ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, shouldn’t the plural of booth be beeth? One goose, two geese — so one moose, two meese? One index, two indices — one Kleenex two kleenices? Doesn’t it seem loopy that you can make amends but not just one amend, that you comb through the annals of history but not just one annal? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and you get rid of all but one, what you call it? If the teacher taught. Why isn’t it true that the preacher praught? If a horsehair mat is made from the hair of horses and a camel’s-hair coat from the hair of camel’s, from what is a mohair coat made? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? If you wrote a letter, perhaps you also bote your tongue? Sometimes I wonder if all English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what other language do people drive on a parkway and park in a driveway? Recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? How can a slim change and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy opposites? How can overlook and oversee be opposite, while quite a /ot and quite a few are alike? How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell the next?
Did you ever notice that we talk about certain things only when they are absent? Have you ever seen a horseful carriage or a strapful gown, met a sung hero or experience requited love? Have you ever run into someone who was combobulated, grunted, ruly or peccable? And where are the people who are spring chickens or who actually would hurt a fly? I meet individuals who can cut the mustard and whom I would touch with a ten-foot pole, but I cannot talk about them in English. You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill a form by filling it out and in which your alarm clock goes off by going on. English was invented by people and not by computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn’t really a race at all). They are visible, but when the lights are out they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch I start it, but when I wind up this essay I end it.

Condensed from “Crazy English”. If you say yes, I want to ask you. Did you find any advantages or disadvantages? The below there are some of advantages of working for a company in my opinion.
First of all, if you work for a company, you can learn about the community. All companies consist of diverse people. Whether you are a director or a follower, you may have an unavoidable conflict with others. Though very conflicted, little by little you could realize how to work efficiency. Secondly, working for a company makes you know about the outline of whole process for the task achievement. Also, you should do only specialty. For example, if you are a salesman, you won’t design to advertise. Moreover, you can be paid stable incomes while you are working. You don’t have to worry about your company’s finance. However, working for a company also has some disadvantages. Firstly, if your company became sluggish, you might be fired. In other words, you must be outstanding and indispensable to survive. Secondly, your incomes are limited. No overflows without adventure. As there is no risk, you don’t have any chance to get rich swiftly.
In conclusion, I recommend working for a company during the early years of working. I think it makes you know how to be comfortable with society. Nevertheless, after experiencing the working for a company, if you can do it, being self-employed is worth a try. Nobody knows you could be a successful man. Good luck to you!
Joanna Kweon
Pre-Intermediate
LATC... Also, you have to be on time in the morning. So that's what we need to be better in our life. Working in a company gives us a chance to get some experiences, so that's very important for development and getting another job if we decided to change our first job. Secondly, you have to learn how to deal with with others, especially dealing with customers and your work mates. Moreover you can use the computer and the internet, so that's what we call it the language of this age.
However, working for a company has also some disadvantages. First of all, it takes most of your time, so you haven't a free time enough to visit your relatives and friends.
Secondly, it makes a human as a machine especially in the capitalism companies if there is no mercy.
Finally, I prefer working as a self-employed to working for a company if it's more relaxing, and I like freedom in my work.
Saleh Assadig.
Pre-Intermediate.
LATC... The house belonged to a married couple who went off on a honeymoon to Libya yesterday. Therefore, he set his mind at rest and decided to stael all night. At first, he quietly broke into the living room through the windows and looked at the portrait of the owner of the house. He felt sorry for him, but he had no conscience. When th eEiffel Tower was lit up, he began to put things that looked like precious in his sack. There was a gold clock, an antique jar, and so forth. Suddenly , he felt hungry and had a rumble in his stomack. He went to the kitchen to have something to eat. Then, he opened the refrigerator and looked over inside. There were many kind of food. Specially, there were cheese and hamburger which were his favourite foods, so he was very happy. He ate all of cheese and hamburgers. Also he drank two bottles of champagne, too. He looked like a hungry dog. After eating, he came back to the living room, packed his sack, continued tottering and then ran to upstairs. May be he he had a full stomach and was very tired. Unfortunately, he became sleepy and immediately fell asleep. Next morning, the sun was rising and he was over sleeping. Also, some neighbors who felt suspicious about opening window, called the police station. 10 minutes later, finally he was awakened by police men.
Joanna Kweon.
Pre-Intermediate.
LATC... For example, each classroom should have a basket because we want to keep this lovely place always clean.
In our school there are many students of different ages and jobs. We are all friends. And our teachers are very nice. I love them all. They are from different countries. They work hard to teach us. For me I don't have any problem with the teachers.
The administration of our school is very good. They are cooperative with us and they work hard to improve the school and the students as well.
The classrooms are good and clean but there is something disturbing us.Those tables which don't function well and aren't comfortable and disturb us and the teachers as well - otherwise the classrooms are not bad. Each classroom has its own TV and stereo set which make the learning process easier than before.
We study books which are good and we learn a lot of things easily. We learn not only the English language, but we also learn a general knowledge from these books. They are very good books because we learn from them without complexity.
Anyhow, I say that because I want the best for this school and I hope it goes up more and more.
Ghaida Youssef.
Elementary.
LATC...
