We spent about an hour and a half today doing pedicures. Ellie couldn't get enough of it!

Yesterday we went over to Baba Luba's house and she had set up a small pool for Ellie. My kid is a fish and loves the water. I think the most fun she had was running around with a watering can and getting the dog wet.

And yes, I let my kid drink from the water hose.

It's yummy!!!

The funny thing is that Aunt Lana bribed her with grapes to get her to smile for these pictures.

Wow...I was looking back at pictures yesterday and realized that today marks the day I proposed to Juliana, six years ago! I just thought I post some pictures as a reminder of that day.

Spring Break Synopsis

Pictures of our Easter Egg Hunt. If you are wondering why her dress is so full it's because there's a purple tutu underneath that she refused to take off!

We took a trip up to Mt. Diablo with Uncle Paul (or Puncle as Ellie likes to say) who came to visit for the week.

And here's a funny video showcasing Ellie's dance moves. This is the same purple tutu that was under the Easter...she wore it until I hid it so I could wash it.

We took Paul to San Francisco to check out the city. Here's us as Coit Tower with Ellie all wrapped up because she just woke up. She does not like waking up much.

We visited the Palace of Fine Arts where Paul's army training came in handy. His lightning-fast-reflexes kept Ellie from jumping into the pond after the ducks (she tried multiple times). See how he never takes his eyes off her?

We didn't get any pictures of Pier 39 because Ellie threw an epic tantrum after I told her she couldn't ride the carousel. But I did get a picture in the parking lot! She thought that ducking to avoid hitting the ceiling was the most awesome thing. "I big! I duck!"

And then we went to Ghirardelli to eat some ice cream sundaes. Ellie is serious about ice cream.

She's been practicing her cheesy smile. I think she looks like a pirate in this picture. I expect nothing less after eating all that sugar!

And then there's this random picture we took at Treasure Island...but I think it's adorable! Ellie loves her Puncle. She has a bear that he gave her for Christmas and she insists on sleeping with it every night.

I took Paul wine tasting at V. Sattui. He wine tastes like he shops. We drove all the way to Napa and went to one place. He bought his wine and he was done. Since he didn't want to buy any more wine he didn't see the point in visiting any other wineries. It is very good wine though, and here's a picture from the cellar!

As soon as Paul left Ellie became sick. I have to brag on Mike here for a moment. He let me catch up on sleep last night and must have woken up with Ellie 4 or 5 times to help her with her sick tummy. Just so you know, because they never cover this in parenting books, toddlers DO NOT like to puke in the toilet, the sink, bowls, or the tub. They like to puke on their parents. Thanks Mike, for letting me sleep last night, because you deal with bodily fluids way better than I do.

But today Ellie is feeling much better and is up to her usual antics. Here she is playing Ring Around the Rosie with Tucker. He is such a patient dog!

Even french braids! I did these while she sat very nicely watching Curious George the movie. I was so proud that she could sit still enough for me to be able to braid her hair.

Her favorite color at this time is green, so when Grandma sent her some new dresses from Chicago she immediately wanted to put on the green dress, the princess shoes, and her umbrella. Ever since she saw Mary Poppins she's been a big fan of umbrellas.

And another one, just because her face is cute...even when she's got chalk dust on her face, smeared with marker and cheerio.

Yesterday we got our mini schnauzers hair cuts. They were looking pretty scruffy and it was way past due. When Eliana got home and saw them for the first time she was really excited and starting petting them and saying, "Fossy...nice, fossy!"

I looked at her like I should know what you are saying right now but I don't.

So then she runs and pulls out a touch and feel book that we haven't read for MONTHS and opens to a page that says, "This is a fuzzy dog. Let's pat the dog." And continues, "Fossy, Mommy. The puppies are fossy!"

Ooooohhhhh. Fuzzy. I get it now.

Our Little Princess

On Saturday morning I was getting ready and Eliana comes up to me and says, "Mommy, you need to wear a dress. Hold on. I'll be right back." She then goes to my closet and runs right back. She holds up her hands and says, "Where are your dresses? They are all gone!" That's right kid. Mommy is boring and I usually wear pants.

In case you didn't know, Ellie has a thing for dresses and anything girly. Everyday when she comes home she runs to her room and takes off her clothes and puts on a pink tutu that her grandma gave to her for Valentine's Day. She also has a pair of light-up Cinderella shoes that are two sizes too big that she loves. Sometimes she'll even put on the Cinderella dress she wore for Halloween and her Cinderella shoes and go out the back door to dig for worms.

On Sunday, just for kicks, I did decide to wear a dress. You should have seen her eyes light up as she declared, "Wow! Mommy, you are so cute!" She then started playing in another room. She came back to me crying and freaking out about something. I thought maybe she was hurt so I asked what was wrong. She said, "Mommy, where are my rings? I need DIAMONDS!"

I'd still like to know where she learned that from.
