The first day of the ALCS and the Boston Red Sox are ready to continue their march towards a world championship.

Josh Beckett goes tonight against C.C. Sabathia...I could almost poo I'm so excited. I'm going to be getting drunk at a Red Sox bar on the upper east side. A night that will hopefully end with celebratory singing and not a long sad subway ride home. Its all in hope of another moment like this....

Sonic in Smash

I talked a little about the huge news of yesterday which is that sonic the hedge hog is now in Super Smash Brothers Brawl....The video below show the little blue speed demon in all his glory and he is glorious evend espite the awful modern sonic cheesey rock music....check out the video

Rant of the Day:People Who Don't Do Anything For Themselves

I don't get people who don't do things for themselves....

Hey I'm an intern and I get it comes with the territory that you have to do the things other people don't want to do and so I swallow that with a smile.

But at my other job I work as an office assistant. I answer phones, make copies, sort mail, go through paperwork and so on and so on. But yesterday a faculty member decided it was also my duty to move his office from floor 13 to floor 12. a job that apparently my senior co-worker decided was for me to do. Now this is my second week at this job and I'm not quite ready yet to start denying requests so I obliged. I had to empty a few filing cabinets, empty out a desk, take random stuff off said desk and carry it all down a flight of stairs.

The physical labor not too bad but that's not the point....

You might assume the man was busy had classes to teach or students to see?? No what he was busy doing was standing in his new empty office not doing a damn thing but waiting for me to get there with his stuff.

WHAT THE HELL???

Another instance I was answering the phones and I transfer a call to a faculty remember and he yells from his office....."Is this call important" HOW THE HELL SHOULD I KNOW......"Only transfer calls that are important or from Mr X or Ms. y other wise I'm not here" Who do you think you are the fraking president you advise students for a living isn't every call supposed to be important...you can't deal with them yourself you need somebody else to decide whats important for you...

I just don't know the point where people decide its okay to do that kind of thing. When did you stop relying on yourself and begin to trickle down the little tasks to those unsuspecting young people who didn't sign up for anything of the sort.

You can say thank you all you want if your really wanted to thank me you wouldn't ask me to do it.

Pee Pee Dance

Let me paint you a picture dear readers of my morning.....

I just had to pee. I don't mean oh that would feel nice to go, this was a national emergency. I exit my room and of course my roommate is in the shower. This leaves me flailing my legs in some sort of insane Irish jigga pee pee dance. After what felt like 6 hours but was more like 6 minutes I begin to think about ways to relieve this problem without a bathroom...the first is of course finding a plastic bottle which fails because all we have is Poland spring bottles and anyone whose not a fool knows you cant urinate into one of them without making a mess. I got about halfway into trying to figure out some sort of waterworld coffee maker apparatus when my roomie finally sauntered out of the shower....

To back track to my roomie being in the shower...Every Tuesday/Thursday we have a similar problem because I can't seem to time when I should get up to get in the shower because he doesn't seem to shower at the same time on any day. I understand that there are mistakes now and then but I mean really come on. We put our schedules on the refrigerator for a reason I realize I might be making mountains out of mole hills here but this is what the blog is for to give off unfettered ridiculousness....

The job I don't get paid for has been typically inconsistent today, one moment I'm running my ass off and the next I'm sitting for hours and getting to write this blog. One thing I do have to say is my boss is awesome. She gives me cool stuff to do and is very encouraging about the work I'm doing....I wish I could be specific but in fact if I did I'd get fired....

Last night was another full night of TV, while I haven't gotten around to Bionic Woman 1.3 I did catch up on both episodes of Pushing Daisies and watched episode 1.3 of Life.

I said it before and I'll say it again Pushing Daisies is stunning. It doesn't look anything like any other television show and is so charmingly off kilter I'm disarmed by it. The color palette is quiet breathtaking and there is just a quirkiness to the way its shot that I love. Its refreshing to see Barry Sonnenfeld doing such good work on something so worthwhile. I think its sad when talented directors lose their way but it seems like at least for now he has found it again. Lets just hope he's left RV in the rear view mirror.

And to praise Life you need look no further than Damian Lewis at the lead. I usually have distaste for cop shows but his portrayal alone puts it in my good graces. Throw that in with a great comic turn from Adam Arkin and the just plain gorgeous Sarah Shahi as his partner and I'm in. Well in as long as the character remains interesting and the mystery unravels at a nice pace.

Food Delivery Day

I woke up this morning form a glorious 8 hours of sleep to something even more glorious, the new trailer for
Golden Compass......

this movie is going to be awesome and really blow some people away who think this is just a LOTR or Narnia clone. The books are so wonderful in there commentary on religion and life in all its ups and downs that the films have the opportunity to be real classics.

So, I'm much better rested today. But just as bored. They moved my desk at work so now I'm all alone on another flood. One cool thing though I've got a tv with a dvd player right by my new desk. hello Friday Night Lights during work.

I was planning to work on my screenplay today here but that doesn't seem too likely right now I got too wrapped up in the fact the SONIC IS IN SUPER SMASH BROTHERS!!!

I know I'm a geek but how cool will it be to see Sonic battling Mario in a bare knuckles brawl. It might be the greatest thing ever. Well not ever but you know what I mean.

Last night I once again watched the fantastic Reaper. Its like Shaun of the Dead meets Buffy the Vampire slayer and I dig it man.....I caught up on Chuck last night as well and I have to say "Chuck vs. the Tango" was a great episode of TV. A great balance of action and comedy with some truly kick ass scenes at the end.... Adam Baldwin's character taking a baddy out with a microwave and then saying "Thats how you move some merchandise" is just giggle inducing.

Tonight I'm also popping my cherry on in house grocery delivery....Thats right baby freshdirect.com is delivering my groceries right to my door between 8 and 10 tonight. So sometime between Pushing Daisies and Life I will have a fully stocked fridge for the first time in a while.

I think I'm going to end this post for now but I may be back later tonight......

Sleep Deprived

I'm exhausted today. I for some reason thought it would be better to sleep till 3am and then take a train rather than take a train at 11 and then sleep.....it just all equals my second straight night with less than 5 hours sleep.

I've been pretty much dead in my chair today at work. But luckily there isnt much going on or i'd be in trouble......you know what sucks?......not having any money that just seems to be a theme of my life right now. I can't afford fun things like......

Did you know that thye have frozen yogurt for dogs? Its pretty crazy I know. I feel like thats a dangeorus thing to have around when you get drunk....

What a great couple of days of sports we've had. The Giants beat the Jets, my Red Sox beat the Angels and the heathen Yankees lost to the Indians....They can blame it on the bugs all they want but they haven't won a world series in 7 years and that brings a smile to my face....Little known fact everytime the Yankees lose a playoff series an orphan gets a home so think about that before you root for the Yankees again.

Onto TV....

Watched Heroes last night and I feel like th episode fell somewhere in between week one's below par effort and last week's above par. I'm interested in Peter, Claire, and Hiro as usual but the other stories I think lack focus and are just spinning their wheels. The show has the talent and ability to be close to Lost calibur but seems to just not be able to get there. This season lacks that "I have to watch next week feeling" that I got almost all of last year that was until the shitty finale. ..... Sylar is back and he was good but where the hell is he?....I thought Peter doing the darth vader choke on the baddie was cool. I still wonder where he got his nice new hair cut while he was putting himself back together........

In awesome TV news I've been watching the first season of Friday Night Lights and its just fantastic, its got so much going for it style, performance, writing it deserves a big audience but looks like its doomed not to last.....meanwhile people continue to watch shows like Two and a Half Men which is the opposite of funny....

Watch Reaper tonight it kicks some major monkey ass....

life can begin again February 2008 when Lost comes back on the air....
