How! Well, my last post was about how I got my mission call to France!

This Is Maria, one of our AMAZING Amis de L'eglise ( In French, we call investigators "friends of the church")

This is the Canal de Brienne, BEAUTIFUL canal running through the heart of Toulouse.

I spent a wonderful 6 months in France before needing to come home because of re-injuring and old injury in my ankle, multiple times. When ya can't walk, you unfortunately cannot be a missionary in France. A LOT of walking is involved. I flew home on September 14th. Was honorably released from my mission (couldn't have a "companion" with me 24/7) Started the what we didn't realize then, would be a LONG process to getting it fixed.

Doctors say that the old injury injury never healed, (probably because it was over looked, never went to the doctor for what I thought was a sprained ankle) and that I have been walking on a BROKEN ankle for nearly 2 1/2 years. My ankle is broken SO deep in my ankle that no x-ray, MRI, or CT scan could even see it. i finally got a bone scan, which showed that something is going on! The MRI showed that I have scar tissue and arthritis all throughout my ankle.

After being put into a cast for 6 weeks, non-weight bearing, with a bone growth stimulator. Nothing had changed. So now we are waiting on a second option from another doctor to see what he thinks we should do. (Our doctor is being EXTRA careful...joy)

We are just playing the waiting game!

Because I have so much time on my hands and have found Pinterest. I have a whole lot to do and try. I hope to share all my creations and fun outings with everyone!

I'll be making another post of all the things I have made already on Pinterest. As soon as my homemade Reeses Peanut Butter cups are done, which are cooling in the freezer as I type!

It has been quite the journey.

I enter the MTC (Missionary Training Center) on April 6th. so yes, I have 4 weeks left.
I had the amazing opportunity to attend the temple for the first time this last Saturday, and loved it.
I can't wait to start this next chapter in my life!
Love you all!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It was so good to be around family for the Holidays. Last night, as a Christmas tradition, we went to look for Christmas lights. We found the most AMAZING Christmas lights I had EVER seen. It was a whole street, called Bainbridge Falls, that had at LEAST 11 houses all lit up and synchronized to music. This is my first time loading a video from YouTube onto my blog, so if this doesn't work, give me a few tries to figure it out. =)

They had their own radio station, you tuned to it in your car and drove up and down the street, seeing the amazing lights. It truely got me and my family into the Christmas mood. It was wonderful opportunity to be with my family, enjoying the lights, and the music. There were SO many cars in the line to drive down the street, so we parked, and walked. I am so glad we did it, they had the music playing as we walked down the street.
When I woke up this morning around 7:30, I quickly wrapped my gifts for my family and put them under the tree. My family came down and we proceeded to open presents and see what Santa had brought us!! Little did we know that Dallin had in fact woken up in the wee hours of the morning to see what presents awaited him, snatched his new iPod Nano up, and was playing with it quietly in his room until everyone else woke up. Now, I'm not talking early like, 6am, I am talking EARLY as in about 3:30am! Santa had to have just left, wouldn't be surprised if he saw him squishing back up the fireplace!
Dallin and I got Anaheim Ducks Jerseys, Dallin's Jersey is Ryan Getzlaf #15 game jersey. My Jersey is just a basic Ducks game jersey, and I LOVE IT! We are BIG hockey fans here in the Ovard house, We love the Ducks most of all, but are also fans of Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals (Yeah Ovechkin!), and the Pittsburgh Penguins (Yeah Crosby!) But that is for a whole different post.
I tried to get Dallin to pose for a picture, but he wouldn't have it. Even when he did, he wouldn't smile. So forget it!
We got a new TV for Christmas, really nice LCD Flat screen, it's so CLEAR! So of course the first movie we watch is Avatar, with the surround sound and crisp image, it is AMAZING!

I have so much to be grateful for this Holiday Season.
I hope every one of you have a fabulous Christmas and New Years.

Fly, Fly, Fly.

My roommate Tyese was married to one of my greatest friends Steven Blackhurst on October 21st 2010. They are an adorable couple, their reception was very elegant and beautiful and Tyese was as GORGEOUS as ever.

Living in Salt Lake City was wonderful. I loved being so close to relatives that I originally had only seen once a year. I was working as a stylist at Great Clips and a very quaint little salon in the area. Both locations were very close to home, very convenient.

Allison, Tyese, and I became very good friends. We did everything together! The best roommates I had ever had, friendships that will last a life time. We took a liking to a restaurant nearby by the name of Hoppers, to which we were frequent diners.
On my last night in Utah Tyese, Jessica, Allison, and I met at hoppers and enjoyed each others company, laughing the night away!
The LDS ward I was involved in was a very LARGE but very well organized University singles ward. That is where I started my paperwork to serve an LDS mission. Shortly after that I returned home to California and have been here just over a month!
Tonight is Christmas Eve and everyone in my house is anxious to see what we will be greeted by in the morning. Dad has been asking for it to be Christmas for a couple days now. He knows what's coming and is anxious to see what SANTA will bring!
I hope your Christmas Eve is as thrilling as mine is becoming!

Bathroom reading

I love my roommates and my house is AWESOME!

On the bathroom closet there is a quote by President Monson that reads:

"Out of the darkness and horror of Calvary came the voice of the Lamb saying "Father into Thy hands I commend my spirit." And the dark was no longer dark, for he was with his father. He had come from God, and to Him He had returned. So also those who walk with God in this earthly pilgrimage know from blessed experience that He will not abandon His children who trust in Him. In the night of death, His presence will be "better than a light and safer than a known way."

-President Monson

And then below that it had a few different sayings, such as:

"You're Loved!"

"Stay Strong!"

"Be happy"

I feel so blessed that I found this house so quickly. With all the things happening in my life right now I know that this is where I am supposed to be.

Work is going well, it's a little slow but I am sure it will pick up. I have very high hopes for this week. =)

I will post pictures of my house sooner or later, I have taken some, I just need to find my cord. =)

TANGLES Salon and Day spa

I can choose to be happy, grouchy, mean, or down.
But I have come to find out that most of my happiness and joy comes from when I chose to be happy. It is MY choice.
Weight watchers has been a HUGE success so far. I have lost 10 pounds. I switched my school schedule to mornings. i dont know why I didnt do this like, a year ago. It's so much easier, and actually feels like school. and the best part, I have a REASON to go. mostly because there is nothing else to do. I could sleep, but who needs that?
Haha.
I leave for Florida in 6 days. and am SO nervous. and tired and stressed and ugh. Taft was born on January 23, 1989 to Peggy Clark Ahlstrom and Daren Ahlstrom. Taft made everyday a new adventure. He was known and loved by many. He had a special spirit and a gift for humor. He made us smile. Taft could outwit, out play, outlast just about everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Taft is survived by his loving mother Peggy, of Grantsville. His father and stepmother Daren and Christina of West Jordan, sister Lydia and brother Heber of Grantsville, many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Taft And Lydia Ahlstrom

Taft Ahlstrom was a good friend of mine. He loved making other people laugh, and hated to see people sad. Taft and I dated for a short while and became very close friends, unfortunatley our veiws on what we wanted out of life was different and our relationship ended. While we werent on talking terms for almost a year, the friendship we had never ceased.

I ran into Taft working as a cashier at Maceys Grocery Store in Provo about 2 months ago. While at first it was awkward and weird to see him, after not talking for so long. We instantly caught up and became friends again. Exchanged phone numbers once again and started talking like we did when we first met.

Taft was killed instantly in a head on car collision on March 21st 2009 in Tooele Utah. The driver of the car, Kendra Naisbitt, was not wearing her seatbelt correctly. Taft and the other passenger Bailey Corless, were not wearing seatbelts at all. Paramedics and police of Grantsville and Tooele say this was one of the worse car accidents they had ever seen.

Jacob White the driver of the other car, was wearing his seatbelt, and although he is in critical condition, paramedics believe he will recover just fine. Police say they believe Jacob may have fallen asleep at the wheel and hit Taft's car head on.

We all may miss Taft Ahlstrom, miss his cheerful voice and contageous laugh. His energetic and loving personality. He is on to bigger and better things. Just as his roommate and life long friend Logan Heap said in his talk at Taft's funeral "I felt you there. But I realized it was more than just a funeral. It was your mission farewell. " Taft is on a mission with God. Meeting all the amazing people that have had the opportunity to Pass on. Earthly life is just one step in God's great plan. Taft did what he was here to do, and was lucky enough to go home.

We all love and miss you Taft.

It's Only a Matter of Time

I have so much to do but so little time to do it, waisting time on Facebook and my blog probably is not helping much either.
I work at The Provo Town Center Cinemark 16 Movie Theatre now. I work almost 6 times more then when I was at The Pita Pit. I feel like I might be able to get back on my feet and do someting with myself. Maybe move out of GLENWOOD, That's my number one priority right now. Come April, I will live in Glenwood for almost 2 years. That's 2 years to long.
Well, I have more productive things to do right now.. like clean my room and do laundry.
That's a good idea.
Until next time.

I think my mom updates her blog more then I update mine.

And I am feeling a little uneasy about it, I don't really know what to think.
Time is going by to fast. I just want it to stop so I can sit down and breath. I need a new job, but noon is willing to hire me. I need a steady, well paying job, so I don't have to borrow money from my parents any more. It's a little frusterating when you don't have any money.
I am going to vegas on the 21st, to clear my head and just go crazy and have fun. i need a day away from utah. it will be well worth it.

Happy friggin New year!!!

On New Years Eve the transmittion in my Taurus started slipping, so I started looking for a new car before the Taurus decided to give up on me. I looked on thursday and friday ALL day before finally finding one I was interested in, but they wouldnt make the deal I wanted.
So I was out to venture on saturday and ended up getting a call from my sales person with the the car I wanted saying they could do the deal!!!! ( because they felt sorry for me.. haha)
So I took the Taurus into the dealership and signed the papers for the new car. Went into my car so I could get the check from my credit union, and on my way to the credit union, The transmittion on the Taurus went out. ONE HOUR before the car would have been their problem and NOT MINE!!! UGH.
The dealership decided to still take the car as a trade in but the car was only worth 500 dollars.
So yes, I did get the New car, but for more then I actually wanted to pay for it.
but OH well. I got what i need and couldnt be happier.
I need to go to bed.
I'll try to update this more..

If you lie, you don't deserve to have friends.

Bryce was home and we jumped on my trampoline at my house in San Jacinto.
THEN
I went and saw Batman (AWESOME) last night with Josh and then dreamt the WEIRDEST thing..
I was helping The joker (hottest joker ever, kind of the same effect of Johnny Depp in Pirates) in his dirty deeds.. We were lovers, he was blowing up something and told me to go hop the fence so I wouldn’t die. And I did, and Batman was there, riding a llama ( I went to the Llama fest last week) with Miley Cirus.
Me and the joker killed Miley Cirus!!!!!
And then my alarm went off.
WHAT THE HECK??
I was best friends with Miley a few days ago!!!!

I really should update this more..

Just as I expected. However, this breakup was different from the rest.
We didn't breakup because we lost interest in each other, heck, I still have the hots for him. We brokeup in a mutual manner, we wouldnt be able to make each other the happiest we could be. No doubt, we would be capable of making it work. Only one of us would be living the life we didnt want to..

He is a cowboy/farmer thinks Provo is to big of a city kind of guy.
I am a aspiring cosmetologist that thinks Provo is TO SMALL.
My career would go to the dogs if I were to move to Ohio and be a farmers wife, I wouldnt be able to live my dream of doing hair on Rodeo Drive!
We are still close friends, which I think is important.

On to other things in the life of me!

I lost my Job a Taco Bell, then sorta kinda got it back a little. I am opening manager and take care of the deposit and paperwork. Only I work from 7-9am, we don't even open till 9. I don't have to do line, or drive through or front cash! Probably the best fast food job ever. Haha.
Meanwhile, while Taco Bell was fighting to get me back I was hired on as a closer at Pita Pit.
Which meant i had to change my schedule for school as well. So now I do Taco Bell in the mornings, school from 12:30 - 6:30, then Pita Pit whenever they have me scheduled (I start Monday)

Exciting, I know. I get to be busy!
Well.. tis late and I need to get to bed so I can go to TB tomorrow morning.
nighty night
Danielle

fed up

He didnt have to tell me, i knew it.
but then I hear what REALLY happened.
He passionatly kissed a girl while he was out in Argentina. He didnt tell me wether or not he was being sent home, but i feel that he is.. something deep down inside is telling me that he really is being sent home..
Me and Josh made it official yesterday.
I dear johned bryce yesterday and basically said I lost all respect and faith in him. I dont trust him anymore. If he can't be faithfull to the lord for 2 years.. how can i expect him to be faithful to me for all eternity?
at the end of the letter I said that if he feels he needs to get in contact with me after his mission, he knows where to find me. And left it at that.
I m hppy with Josh for the moment. I dont know how long it will last, but I am happy.
i want it to last a very long time.
i need a nap.
i am exhausted and sick of everyone.
danielle

8th world wonder

Boy he is a wonder..
Says all the right things at all the right times. Funny. Attractive. Easy to get along with..
I was his first kiss.. and first sort of girlfriendish type thingy.
It's such a nice situation.. really.
We will have to see...
Tomorrow is the wonderful Wednesday, I know I am not bumed out that its wednesday, but i am not particularly excited either.. I think the flare has left the building. I still love him to death.. NO love interests came around for 8 months.. I was not looking for any, I had my mind set on the prize. Then country boy came along. Hes been home for 4 months, is from ohio, all the good stuff.. grew up on a farm ( my dad would love to know that.. as he grew up in the "wilderness" as well.) I however.. dont know where I want to be.. I could and would be content in either, i am a city girl, hands down. Provo is not big enough. I am used to San Diego, the climate the people, not really something i want to have my future family around, but when we go up to visit my dads fam in Idaho, I LOVE IT. riding horses, four wheelers.. canals.. natural lakes..
I just dont like getting dirty.. but i am sure I would get used to it..
just keeping my options open and realizing that in either situation, I would be happy. Thats all that really matters right?
well, I am off to take a nap before venturing off to school..
wish me luck tonight! I really dont want to cut myself again with my shears... thank goodness for liquid bandaids..
I might go to wal mart after school.. I need food..
love y'all
danielle
