Holiday Extravaganza Review: Cloud B Gentle Giraffe Review

Kaelyn has always been a pretty good sleeper. However, as with most children, there have been nights here and there over the past couple of years when she has needed some extra TLC to calm down and fall asleep. With our second baby on the way, I'm sure we'll have nights like this with him or her as well.

That's why I was so happy to come across Cloud B, a company dedicated to providing parents with products that will help create a better and safer sleep for baby, aiding in healthy development. They use only the finest of materials for all of the products they offer and have become a trusted name among parents worldwide.

Cloud B sent us their new, Gentle Giraffe.

When we first received it I was amazed at how soft it was. It's a nice size for children, and what I enjoy most about it is that it's made to help soothe children to sleep in a safe and calming way. Inside this adorable animal has a little sound box that offers four soothing sounds: Safari Groove, Safari Trail, Victoria Falls, and Mother's Heartbeat. On the sound box there is a volume control and on/off switch. You also have the option to set the time for 23 or 45 minutes. It has a Velcro loop that can easily be attached to the crib as well. A neat bonus is that Gentle Giraffe also came with a fully illustrated story book and adoption certificate.

This is perfect for newborns and children of all ages. It's created to help even the fussiest of children become better sleepers. I would have loved having this when Kaelyn was born and am so happy to have it for this baby!

I always enjoy coming across a company that carries products which make a parent's busy life a little easier. That's why I was thankful to have come across BabbaCo and their super cute line of functional and simple solutions to help parents balance it all. Now parents can have products that not only make life easier, but are also super cute at the same time!

BabbaCo sent us their BabbaBurpie in Cati Coral Cream to use with our little one, due in just over a week.
Burp cloths are one of those things that you go through so many of with a new baby. With Kaelyn I found myself doing laundry everyday...and burp cloths were one of the main items in each load. Knowing this, I was very excited to receive and review the BabbaBurpie, because of it's functional and innovative features, giving it a twist on the traditional burp cloths I'm sure we've all used at some point.

Holiday Extravaganza #9: SodaStream Soda Maker Review and Giveaway

Did you know that American's drink over 55 billion liters of soda and seltzer each year? That's roughly 600 cans for every adult and child in the US! WOW! I am not a big soda drinker, but my husband loves it! It got me thinking about all of the cans and bottles we waste. That's why I was thankful to learn more about SodaStream.

SodaStream sent us their Fountain Jet in black/silver along with 8 soda mixes to try. My first impression was how sleek and modern it was.

The SodaStream soda maker saves us from having to throw all those bottles and cans away thanks to their BPA-free reusable plastic bottles which last up to three years! You save on energy as well considering the fact that no electricity or batteries are needed! All the power needed is supplied by the compressed air in the carbonator. What's great is that these empty carbonators can be returned to SodaStream to be cleaned, inspected and refilled wth CO2 drawn naturally from the air.

When we first received the SodaStream in the mail I was very excited to test it out and so was my husband!! As we began to use it, we realized that making your own homemade soda and sparkling water has never been easier! I was amazed. To start using it, we had to place the CO2 bottle in the back and put the cover back on.

After that we were ready to fill the plastic bottle with water and place it in the slot. To add the carbonation to the water, we simply pushed the button at the top and listened for the buzz sound which let us know it was working. We did this 3 to 4 times with each bottle we made.

We were then ready to add the flavor. My hubby loves orange soda, so we opened that one up first. We filled the orange soda mix up to the line in the cap and poured it in the bottle of carbonated water. I was worried it wouldn't be very good, but to our surprise it was great! It tasted just like orange soda.
In just a few easy steps we had soda. This is not only great for our environment, but also a wonderful way to save money with each soda mix making the equivalent of 34 can of soda!! Holiday Extravaganza #7: Hasbro Games Review and Giveaway

Today there are so many great toys and games available to kids and adults. I always enjoy finding new things, but have to admit that I enjoy finding the traditional toys and games I grew up with even more! Hasbro is a company trusted by families for generations. They are known for some of the most well known toys and games available. What I think is so great about them, is that they continue to keep the traditional products we grew up with, but still find ways to update them and keep us all wanting more!

Hasbro Games sent us a great selection of games to review which included four of their Hasbro Card Games (Scrabble Slam, Crazy Old Fish War, Pictureka, and Littlest Pet Shop Go Fish), Scrabble Apple and Bop-It!

I was really excited to receive the Hasbro Card Games, as I think these would make fantastic stocking stuffers and a smaller gift idea for children and adults alike! The recommended age for these games is 5 and older and let me tell you...they are FUN! We've had the opportunity to play a few of them and loved every minute! These are a great thing to do as a family. I would have to say my favorite is the Scrabble Slam. It's like a very intense game of Scrabble!

The Scrabble Apple game is also a lot of fun too. I love how compact it is. It's a quick-playing version of the classic Scrabble game we all know and love! You flip over the letter tiles, one at a time trying to be the first to make a new word or build off an opponent's word. It's very engaging and a great spin on a traditional and fun game like Scrabble. Scrabble Apple is recommended for ages 8 and older. Another terrific Christmas gift idea!

The Bop-It is a game I always enjoyed playing with my family and friends growing up! I was excited to see that this "think fast" game is back and better than ever! It's recommended for ages 8 and older and takes on the same idea as the original Bop-It, but with an updated look, new challenges and a party mode. This is a great game for any family or group of friends who enjoys having fun and likes a fast-paced, "think on your feet" sort of game.

Hasbro Games truly has something for everybody on your holiday list this year. There are games that will appeal to both kids and adults. What I love is that there is something for every budget. Whether it's a small stocking stuffer idea or a larger gift idea...they have it all!

Maclaren Umbrella Stroller Recall

For those who own a Maclaren Umbrella Stroller or know someone who does, I wanted to pass along some information regarding a recall that was recently announced!

Maclaren is recalling nearly one million single and double umbrella strollers sold in the U.S. due to a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard for children. There is a side hinge mechanism which is a potential hazard to children's fingers when being opened and closed. The models included in this recall are: Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

Maclaren is a well known stroller maker dedicated to safety, and has voluntarily announced the recall after hearing of several finger injuries taking place. It sounds like all strollers sold since 1999 are included in the recall. To make sure that the umbrella strollers are once again safe, they are providing those who have one of these strollers a repair kit which will cover a joint on the hinge mechanism.

Holiday Extravaganza #6: ZeroWater Review and Giveaway

I have never been a fan of tap water. In my opinion, water should not have a taste, and most tap water does. If it tastes, it's probably not good. I drink a lot of bottled water which to me is much better. However...in recent months I've learned more and more that most bottled water isn't as "pure" as the companies would like you to believe. That's why I really wanted to try and drink more filtered water. Not only is it better for myself and our family, but it's also more cost effective and eco-friendly!

ZeroWater was kind enough to send us their ZeroWater Pitcher.

I was really excited to try this product, as they claim it leaves behind nothing but pure water. I was curious to see if this was really the case, and was pleased to find that it is!! The ZeroWater is fantastic!! Each pitcher come with a TDS meter which measures your water for Total Dissolved Solids. The number represents the number of dissolved substances in parts per million that is in your water.

When we first received the ZeroWater pitcher I was looking forward, and honestly a little nervous, to test our tap water, as well as to test the ZeroWater. We first tested the tap water which was shocking to say the least. The TDS gave us a reading of 365!! Yuck! We filtered water through the ZeroWater pitcher and tested that...it was a zero!! I couldn't believe that ZeroWater's claims were so precise.

I am thrilled to have found a water filtration system that actually does what it says it will do. It's a relief to know that my family is now getting nothing but pure water. It's actually the only filtered water that comes from a filter that meets the FDA's definition of purified bottled water.

There were many things I loved about this pitcher besides the obvious fact that it actually purifies water. I really like the sleek design....it's not too big and not too small. I absolutely LOVE the push button at the bottom of the handle which makes it easy to dispense the water rather than having to take it out of the fridge each time to fill a glass. The best part in my opinion though, is the TDS meter! I think it's great that ZeroWater is so confident in their water that they actually send the water meter for you to have and use. We've really found comfort in having it and being able to test the water we drink.

The ZeroWater pitcher would make a fantastic gift for anyone on your Christmas list this year! It's safe for the environment, saves money and good for you...you can't get much better than that. It's a very practical gift, especially for those with small children. When Kaelyn first began drinking water I would have loved to receive this as a gift so I could introduce water to her in the purest form.

Two More Weeks!!

Two more weeks and I couldn't be more excited! We are so excited to meet the newest addition to our family and have Kaelyn meet her new brother or sister! I feel like things are pretty much ready for the baby's arrival...which is a great feeling. Now we just sit and wait! Holiday Extravaganza Review: Hexbug Nano Micro Robotic Creatures

If you're looking for a new and unique stocking stuffer gift idea this Christmas, you may want to consider the Hexbug Nano. I had the chance to review one and can see where this little toy would be a lot of fun for children (not recommended for children under 3 years old though due to small parts).

When I received the Hexbug Nano in the mail I was completely intrigued. I had never seen anything like it before. My Baby Girl is TWO!

Yesterday was Kaelyn's 2nd birthday...where did the time go?!? As I prepped and prepared for the big day, I continually thought about that day two years ago when we brought her home from the hospital! I'm sure that's something that goes through every parent's mind as their children continue to get older. I have a feeling most parents often find themselves asking the same question...where has the time gone?

I'm a little sad that she's already two. My little girl is getting so big...speaking to us in full sentences, having us wondering half the time where she has learned to communicate the way she does at such a young age. She's also becoming more independent and amazes us each and every day. I feel so blessed to be her mom...I couldn't ask for a sweeter little girl. Although it's a little sad to see her getting so big, we also know that exciting things are to come. Each stage offers many new and exciting things, and soon that will be our family becoming a family of four. I cannot wait to see Kaelyn as a big sister, as I know she will be the most helpful and loving there is.

We had some great times with family so far to help celebrate Kaelyn's big day! Friday we spent the evening with Scott's family...having cupcakes, opening gifts and visiting. Saturday my family was over. We had cake (the first cake I've ever decorated...my hubby helped a lot too), opened gifts and that night Kaelyn and her cousin Emry got to go trick or treating together. Sunday we spent the day at home and had a few other family members stop by throughout the day. It was a very special weekend for Kaelyn and I couldn't be happier about that.

As a parent I have to admit that I enjoy some of the classic toys that I had as a child just as much as Kaelyn does! I always enjoy sitting down and playing with her, especially when it's the toys I grew up with! Hasbro is a company trusted by families for generations. They are known for some of the most well known toys and games available. What I think is so amazing about Hasbro, is that they continue to keep the traditional toys like Mr. Potato Head and others while still updating them in new ways to suit the interests of our children today.

Hasbro sent us the Mr. Potato Head Captain Potato Chips toy and we were also sent the Delta Disney Pixar Toy Story Toy Box from Delta Children's Products.

Kaelyn has always enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, but there was something different about this one that sparked her interest even more and had her playing with it for long lengths of time. She loved the "extras" that came with it, making it unique from the traditional Mr. Potato Head that she's used to playing with. All she talks about is how great his hooked hand is, as well as his neat hat! At two years old, her favorite part about playing with Mr. Potato Head is taking off the different parts and figuring out where they go again. It seriously could keep her entertained for hours on end I think.

The Toy Story Toy box is great as well! As I'm sure many parents can relate, we have an over abundance of toys at our house. It's nice to have a place to house them all, and this toy box does just that! What I like most about it is not only the quality one would expect from a Hasbro product, but also the size. Every other toy box we've ever owned or looked at was very large. This is not too small, and not too big...it's the perfect size! The attractive toy story mural on the outside is what really makes it fun and Kaelyn's favorite part!

Like most mama's out there, I thoroughly enjoy shopping for my kids...sometimes a little too much! I'd much rather do this than shop for myself. I found the Le Petit Bébé website to be very easy to navigate. Planning for a new baby in just a matter of a few weeks, I enjoyed browsing through the user friendly categories. I especially enjoyed looking through their Baby Carriers and Sleepy Time sections!
