As Director of Sales, Mr. Schanck brings over 30 years of industry experience. Mr. Schanck will be based out of Deringer’s Buffalo, New York, Customer Service Center and will have oversight of sales executives in parts of the US and Canada. As a member of Deringer’s Executive Leadership Team, Mr. Schanck will help provide strategic direction and vision to the company.

Deringer is pleased to announce the expansion of its consolidation services.  Recognizing a need for competitive rates for port-to-port services from China to the Mid-West and northeastern US and Canada, Deringer offers weekly less than container load (LCL) consolidation services to Toronto with on-forwarding to major distribution points in the US.  Origin ports for the service include Hong Kong, Ningbo, and Shanghai.  Offering significant time savings, shipments are routed through Prince Rupert and Vancouver, British Columbia, and shipped via rail to a container freight station (CFS) outside of Toronto.  Once de-vanned, freight can be cleared through Customs and shipped to points in Ontario, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New England.

The weekly LCL consolidation services offer reduced transit time and competitive rates, compared to freight destined for the Mid-West entering through more congested West Coast ports.  Deringer can provide purchase order to proof of delivery service, from pick up in China through Customs clearance and delivery in the US and Canada.  Matt Parrott, Director of Transportation, commented “We’re excited to offer three new competitive consolidation packages.  Over the past four months, customers have been able to realize significant cost and time savings using these services.”

SAINT ALBANS, VT, DECEMBER 7, 2011:

Leading logistics provider, A.N. Deringer, Inc. was selected as a participant in US Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) pilot Simplified Entry Program.  The objective of the Simplified Entry Program pilot is to create a more efficient process for Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) filers to transmit entry data to CBP, in an effort to better facilitate trade while enhancing cargo security.  The pilot, which was designed with the coordination of trade organizations, will begin by testing simplified ACE entries for air cargo beginning at the end of this month. During the pilot, filers will enter 12 required data elements and 3 optional data elements, instead of the 27 currently required.  Midway through next year, similar pilot programs are planned for ocean and rail cargo.

Initially, the test entries will be restricted to the following:

• Air cargo entries only
• Type 01 and 11 consumption entries
• Importers with a continuous bond
• The port of entry and port of unlading must be the same
• The manifest bill of lading quantity count and the release bill of lading count must be the same
• Participants must be Customs and Trade Participant Program (C-TPAT) Tier 2 status or higher
• Participants with an ACE Portal account

As one of the largest, privately held Customs brokers in North America, Deringer has a long-time history of influencing trade policy and CBP programs.  Deringer was one of the first companies to receive a national permit for Customs brokerage, participated in the CBP pilot Broker Account Management Program, worked closely with CBP during the test phases of eManifest, and was the first broker to submit an error-free ACE entry.  Jake Holzscheiter, Deringer’s President and CEO, said, “Deringer is honored to participate in this pilot.
