Hey everyone!

It's Monday! I dread Mondays because it means going back to work and dealing with all the ~~crap~~ jobs my boss throws at me, but because of Music Monday, that all changed! Yes, I have learned to love Mondays and i even look forward to it now, all thanks to a wonderful meme created by my good blogger friend, LadyJava, thanks for making Mondays fun again LJ!

So anyway, this week, I am going to share a song by Scarlett Johansson and Peter Yorn called the Relator.

Have you noticed that more actors nowadays can sing too?

Friday Fill Ins on a Saturday!*

1. A cup of tea _detoxifies the body and I like to take tea when I am totally stressed out, but otherwise, it's coffee for me_.

Beach Paradise, Here I Come

I really feel like I need a long vacation, away from work and the internet. I have been feeling so tired these past few weeks, and I feel that it is taking a toll on my health. I definitely want to take a break. I have not saved enough for a luxurious vacation, like the ones I have dreamed of having for so long, but I can afford a couple of cheap flights for B, me and the kids, to maybe a local destination. I am thinking of going to Boracay, as I have never been to that beach paradise before and I really wish I can go. I am hesitant though, I don't know if I'll be able to survive not going online, for sure there are wi-fi spots there and all, but then the whole point of going on a vacation was to stay away from work and that includes staying away from the internet. I am sure B also needs the time away from work, he's been feeling stressed out too.

I also have an issue with flying, I absolutely am afraid of heights and I am claustrauphobic, and I don't know how long I can stay up in the air without going ballistic. I just hope the flight I get on will have awesome movies that will help me enjoy the flight and not fret about the possibility of a plane crash or the fact that we are miles up from the ground. I definitely don't want to see movies like Snakes On A Plane, Alive or Final Destination which shows terrible things happening on a flight. I have an over active imagination and I just don't think I'll be able to handle movies like that while I am up in the air. I would want to watch fun movies like White Chicks and Tropic Thunder, or animation films like Up and Shrek would be great to calm me down and at least bear the flight.

I better get on booking those flights before my stingy side convinces me to just opt to spend a long vacation at home instead.

Enough With the Tiger Drama*

Okay, I know it's supposed to be the year of the "Tiger", but don't you think we have had enough of all this Tiger Woods drama? I mean come on, really. Aren't there anything else worth talking about? So he cheated, so what? Like 60% of average Joe's cheat on their wives or girlfriends ALL. THE. TIME. What's the big deal? Just because he's Tiger Woods everybody is making such a big fuss about it. I mean even if he is famous, he's still just a human being, a man, capable of committing a mistake, and instead of talking about it, every single chance we get to, why don't we just leave the guy and his family alone so he can make amends and save his marriage. If we're really concerned about his well-being and not just because we love drama, we should bury this issue and look for other more important issues to exploit. don't you think it's about time we talk about something else? Personally, I am sick of hearing people trash him, I mean who are they to pass judgment on him? It's not like he's the FIRST person to ever cheat on his wife with multiple women. Come on. I remember David Duchovny from X-Files said he was a sex addict but then he didn't get the same publicity as Tiger Woods is getting right now. What's up with that? If Fame is the basis, David Duchovny has made his mark on the industry, so I don't see why he didn't get as much attention.

Anyway, I'm done analyzing this, I just want this issue to over because I am really so sick of looking at Tiger Woods and his poor wife Elin. Talking about Tiger's infidelity is definitely hard for her, imagine having to relive your husband's infidelity every. freakin'. day. No wonder it's taking her so long to get over his infidelity and try and fix their marriage. I believe that Tiger is not the only one to blame, one way or another, she has pushed him to do what he did, it's still not justifiable, but think about it, in any marriage, it takes 2 to tango. A marriage is a partnership, if one turns their back on that partnership, then chaos is sure to ensue.

Lost on Blogthings**

As most of you already know, Lost have aired it's latest season and I for one is at the edge of my seat waiting for it to be shown here, since it airs at a later date over here, I have to wait like a week or so before I can see it. So anyway, I love Lost so much, the first time B and I watched it, we got hooked. I still don't understand what is wrong with the freaking island and all that, but that's what keeps me from watching it, I want to know what the hell is wrong.

So anyway, I wonder who among the characters I am most like, and my result didn't surprise me because I love him!

My Kind of Channels!

AXN is probably one of the channels that I definitely tune into whenever I get the time to watch tv, which doesn't happen very often nowadays, no thanks to my job. Oh, and there is also AXN Beyond.

I love AXN because they are the only channel on our cable operator that shows tv shows such as House, CSI, CSI:Miami and CSI: NY, Chuck, Damages and of course the show my kids love to watch, Wipeout. What makes the show appeal to the general audience including children? Well if the fact that people who fail to complete an obstacle course and fall flat into their faces is not enough to entertain you then there is something terribly wrong with you. Currently Wipeout is on its second season and if you haven't tried watching the show, I suggest you do, it's mighty entertaining.

there is just something about physical pain on others that is so funny...

I love AXN Beyond because it shows episodes of tv series that have ended like Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. It also shows tv shows such as Lost, which I will be lost without, and Supernatural. Again, among 100+ channels, only AXN and AXN Beyond carry my kind of shows.

If you're an anime fan, then the AXN franchise have their own channel dedicated to animes, Animax. if you are the type who like animes but don't have animax on tv, then that's okay because you can watch anime online. Gurren Lagann is one anime worth checking out on Animax Asia. It's about the adventures of Simon and his friend Kamina, and others who are forced to live under the Earth's surface to escape the Beastmen, but then because of an attack enforced to them by the Beastmen, they decide to fight back and regain control of the Earth's surface. I am not sure if they have this on other countries, but for Asian viewers who want to check it out, then you can catch Gurren Lagann on Animax Asia during Sundays at 4:30 p.m. and Mondays at 12 a.m.

Celebrities with Glasses Part 2

Don't you just hate it when celebrities rock a look that you can't? Well, I do! I look like a total dork when I have my eyeglasses on, and celebrities make me feel worse when they rock the dorky look.

These celebrities have the same frame I have and they rock the look! It's so unfair!

I really need a new pair of glasses soon, the old pair I have just isn't doing the trick for me anymore, which is a major uh-oh on my part because that means my eye sight has deteriorated further, and B will probably say it's because I spend too much time in front of the laptop, and he's absolutely right, but what can I do? I earn my living off of staring onto the screen for hours in a day, and I am not about to give that up.

The last time I went to see my optometrist, I spent over $100, for my check up and the frames. Too bad I haven't heard about this review about cheap eyeglasses on Zenni Optical then, then maybe I could have saved like $95. Zenni Optical not only offer the lowest prices on eyeglasses imaginable, they also have very stylish and gorgeous looking frames, they really do live up to their promise of giving the people affordable yet stylish eyeglasses.

Now that I have read it and have learned about stylish but very affordable eyeglasses, I am going to think twice before I pay more than I should and this time around, I am going to rock the dorky look!

Okay, so we all know that Shemah finds the funniest YouTube videos ever, there is no doubt right there. So when I found this video, I was like, I hope she hasn't seen it. I can never beat her at finding the best YouTube videos, cause she's really really good at finding funny, where as I am as funny as, well, I'm really not that funny, and if I am, I probably ripped off one of B's jokes or stuff because believe me, I am so not funny. So anyway, here's the literal version of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean, I was LOL-ing silently because I didn't want to wake Lucas and B, do you have any idea how that feels? It's hard. Music Monday: Alone by Heart, Glee Style!*

This weekend, my sister, Coy and I had a bonding session and we watched Episodes 1 to 13 of Glee on DVD, that's half of Season 1 and the rest will come out on April 2010, and I just can't wait! Anyway, I love Glee! It is such a fun series!

Are you even wondering where I got my choice from this week?

This song was originally done by John Stamos for the soundtrack of the show Dreams in 1984 and was later made famous by the group Heart in 1987. It was featured on Episode 5, The Rhodes Not Taken, of Glee's Season 1. I will be doing a couple of posts about Glee in the coming days so more information will be out soon!

I am so Gleekified! LOL!

The TV is Busted!

Yes,you've read it right, our tv in our living room finally gave out, and it went out with a bang! In my grandma's house, where I spend some weekends with the kids, now occupied by my uncle and his family, and my sister, every room has a television, except the bathroom, but I'm told soon they might put one in there too! LOL Here at home where B and I reside, there are only 2 televisions, 1 in our living room/family room and one in Chakai's room. The one in Chakai's room is fairly new and have only gotten it when she turned 5. The one in our living room is around 35 years old. Believe it or not, it is even older than I am! It belonged to B's parents, you can say he kinda grew up with that thing, well, it finally gave out. It started a couple of weeks ago when its picture quality started to get blurry and we thought it had something to do with the cable company, and I remember asking B to switch to DIRECTV Service, because problems like these don't happen to DIRECTV subscribers, but then it wasn't the cable company's fault after all, it was the tv's way of telling us he's dying and that we should probably get a new one. Now, we are in the market for a new tv, and I am currently browsing through the available satellite tv networks, and I want to know exactly what satellite tv provide and if it is worth the money they ask us to pay. Do you have any tips on what company to go with? Is satellite tv better than cable? I'd love to hear what you have to say.

As I have mentioned on my previous post, I am so into this show called Glee right now and one reason why is because I love their versions of popular songs, like here for example, this is their version of Ride Wit' Me originally sung by the famous hip hop rapper Nelly.

This song was featured in Season 1, Episode 7, entitled Throwdown.

Glee (TV Series)*

I have started watching a couple of episodes of Glee, and I must say, I am so totally hooked! I absolutely just love the show!

Glee is a dramedy (drama/comedy) series centered around a high school show choir, a.k.a. a glee club, called "New Directions!", set in the fictional school William McKinley Higschool in Lima, Ohio.

A little background about the show:

The show first aired on May 19, 2009 after American Idol and because of how the audience received it, the first season aired on September 9, 2009. On December 9, 2009, Glee aired its mid-season finale, it is currently on a 4 month hiatus and season 1 will continue this April 13, 2010.

I can't wait for the rest of the episodes to come out! I am so loving Glee, I love the cast and I love the songs! I can't wait to get hold of their soundtrack!

Cars and Men

A couple of days ago, while on his way home, B saw a car in the parking lot that he thought he would love me to have. It got him all excited and couldn't stop talking about it when he got home. It was funny how he got excited by merely seeing a car. I admit that I wasn't particularly listening to him at first, but then I felt guilty because he was all excited and everything, and so I stopped working for a while and took the time to listen to him. What he saw was 2009 BMW X3. He said that it was the perfect car for me, I don't know why exactly, he just said that I'd look good with the car. Hmm, okay B, whatever you say.

So anyway, here's a peek at what got B all excited.

Speaking of cars, I hear that Scion is also a good brand, and that scion parts are particularly good in terms of car parts and all that. I wonder if scion parts can be used on other cars too. Hmmm.

I am told that this Scion tc rims are sexy, what do you think?

Frankly, I don't care about cars ~~at all, unless it's studded with diamonds~~ that much, I know the different brands of cars and all that but that is as far as I know, I pretty much don't know anything about what scion tc parts are or scion xb accessories do to make the car better, but since it excites B it wouldn't hurt to find out more about things about cars and rims and stuff like that. So I am off to see Mr. Google. See you later!

I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago and I cried buckets! It wasn't a very sad movie, but there were just scenes that tugged at my heart strings and made me cry like a baby. I don't think there was a movie that made me cry like P.S. I Love You did, I didn't even cry during Titanic which is why I think it was so weird that this movie made me cry so hard!

P.S. I Love You is a 2007 film by Warner Bros. It stars Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby, Freedom Writers) and Gerard Butler (300, The Ugly Truth), with Lisa Kudrow (Friends, The Comeback), Gina Gershon (What Love Is, Ugly Betty {3 Episodes}), James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel), Kathy Bates (Fred Claus, The Golden Compass), Harry Connick Jr. (Bug, Living Proof) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural) to name a few.

P.S. I Love You is a story about how Hilary Swanks' character, Holly Kennedy, who tries to move on after her husband, Gerry played by Gerard Butler, dies of cancer. Even in death, Gerry tries to help Holly find a way to be happy again and move on with her life through a series of letters ended by the phrase, "P.S. I Love You". Understandably, it's not easy to move on after the love of your life dies, so after the wake and everything, she goes home to their apartment and literally stays there in her husband's shorts, shirt and suspenders, until her friends and family came over for her 30th birthday 3 weeks after, but that's not the only surprise for her for that day. A cake arrives for her and oddly enough it said it was from her dead husband Gerry. She thought that a prank was being played on her by her brother in law, John (James Marsters), but then a tape recorder came with it and when she played it, she found out that it did come from Gerry. In the tape recorder, Gerry tells Holly that he has written letters for her that will come in a variety of ways and that she should do as he ask. So the series of letters come and it does make her feel better. Her mother played by Kathy Bates isn't as open minded about the whole thing as everybody seemed to be, she thought that Holly was just going to end up hurt even more than necessary and she wanted Holly to stop waiting for the letters to come and just live her life, urging her to date Daniel played by Harry Connick Jr. She gets fired from her job as a real estate agent when she sticks up for a guy who is being pushed around by his wife about getting the apartment she was showing them, the guy clearly doesn't want the house but the girl wouldn't let him get a word in, so she tells her off and then she gets fired. Gerry arranged a trip to Ireland, where she goes with her friend Denise (Lisa Kudrow) and sister, Sharon (Gina Gershon). When they got to Ireland, Denise and Sharon find letters that Gerry left them with instructions on where to bring Holly and what to do, the first order of business was for them to go to a bar, where they met this gorgeous Irish musician, William (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The attraction between William and Holly is evident the moment they met, but Holly is unsure whether to pursue having a fling with this guy because of Gerry, so she didn't. The next day, the three of them went fishing, as per the request of Gerry, they sucked at it and ended up getting stranded. Sharon reveals that she is pregnant and that Denise is getting married. Soon after that, William, who also works as a coast guard, rescues them. That night she sleeps with him. After that, she finds out that William is Gerry's best friend, she gets all freaked out, but then she calms down when William consoles her and offers to tell her stories about Gerry. William's stories inspires her to go and meet Gerry's parents, she's never met them before because they are in a different country and she felt that Gerry's mom hated her for taking Gerry away from them. Gerry's parents welcomes her and they have a talk about how Gerry was and then she found out that Gerry left her a letter there, somehow he knew that she was going to go visit his parents even though that wasn't part of the plan. The letter makes her reminisce about the first time they met and she ends up in tears, happy tears. When she got back from her trip to Ireland, she once again locked herself in her apartment. Gerry promised her that he'll help her find another job. During her 3 week hiatus in her apartment, she then realized her love for shoes, so she went to her friend Denise and then she offered to make her shoes for her wedding day. After weeks of not getting any letters from Gerry, she becomes sad and she and her mother get into a fight, she ends up hurting her mother's feelings but then realizes that she needs to stop waiting for a dead man's letters because he's just that, dead. She goes to her mom and apologizes, then her mom reveals the last letter, apparently, she has been the one sending the letters because it was Gerry's dying wish that she do it for him. After that final letter, she tries to move on and goes on a date with Daniel, but both of them realize that they are better off as friends. Holly opens her own shoe boutique and becomes successful at it. Obviously she has moved on and is happy now. After a few weeks or so, she takes her mom to Ireland to meet Gerry's parents and she runs into William again, and the attraction is still there. The movie ends with Holly smiling at William and her mother grinning from ear to ear.

Okay, so I loved the movie! It made me cry like a baby and Lucas was looking at me like I was a crazy person. He didn't know why I was breaking out into tears and it freaked him out a little and when he was close to tears, I'd laugh, which explains why he thought I was crazy, LOL. Like I said a while back, the movie isn't particularly very sad, but there were just some parts that really made me cry. I think the reason it made me cry was because I put myself in Holly's shoes and can't imagine ever moving on without B. I prefer dying before B, and he knows that, but then again, we'll never know who gets to go first and that's what terrifies me. That part of the movie where she listens to her husband's voice on the tape recorder telling her about the letters and then he ends it with the phrase, "P.S. I Love You", that made me cry like crazy, and while she was sulking, my heart was heavy for her. This movie is definitely one of my favorites now, and I intend to buy the DVD and watch it over and over again.

Music Monday: You Can't Always Get What You Want by Band From TV**

This song is an original from the Rolling Stones and was on their album, Let It Bleed (1969). This song has been on numerous movies like The Big Chill (1983), The Hoax (2006) and 21 (2008). It has also made appearances on tv shows like Drake and Josh, Glee (episode 13), The Simpsons (a parody) (Season 18 Finale), My Name is Earl (Season 2 episode 9), Nip/Tuck and it was on House for 4 different episodes (pilot episode, season 1 finale, season3 episode 1 and season 4 finale). The version I have chosen is the version done by the Band from TV. The Band from TV is just that, a band from tv, because its band members are part of different tv shows, like Hugh Laurie a.k.a. Dr. Gregory House from House, M.D., James Thomas Denton, Jr. a.k.a Mike Delfino from Desperate Housewives, Adrian Pastar a.k.a. Jim Profit from Profit and Jesse Spencer a.k.a. Dr. Robert Chase from House, M.D. to name a few. Its founder Greg Grunberg (Alias, Heroes) hatched the idea of forming the Band after a live performance at a House of Blues (bar &resto chain founded by Dan Aykroyd and Isaac Tigrett) incurred quite a lot of following. Anyway, there will be more details on that soon, for now, let's enjoy the version of the song by the Band from TV.

Jennifer's Body (2009)*

I love watching movies, one of my dream jobs is to get paid for watching movies, can you imagine how awesome that would be?

I first read about Jennifer's Body through one of my bff's online, Shemah's blog, Just Press Play a couple of months ago and I thought that it would be a great movie to watch. Tonight, I was able to catch it on tv, I watched it all by my lonesome. It wasn't as scary as I would've liked it to be, but it was okay. I wouldn't say it was a great movie because I thought the story line was kind of weak, but then since I love Megan Fox, I thought it was an okay movie.

So anyway, here's my summary of the movie, SKIP THE PART THAT'S BLOCK QUOTED IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE.

The movie was about a teenage girl, Jennifer, played by Megan Fox (Transformers 1 & 2), who was sacrificed to Satan by an indie band struggling to make a name for themselves because they were under the impression that she was a virgin. Since she wasn't a virgin, she didn't die, the band still got their wish to be famous but then the downside was that the devil possessed Jennifer's Body and she turned into this monster who needed to feed on people from time to time to keep herself strong and beautiful, she mostly ate boys because she seduced them first before killing them. Jennifer's best friend, Needy, played by Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Mamma Mia!) knew something was wrong with Jennifer and soon enough she confirmed this when Jennifer told her about what the indie band did to her. Jennifer and Needy get into a fight when Jennifer kills her boyfriend, they have a struggle and she kills Jennifer. Jennifer's mom walks in and sees Jennifer's body lifeless and then Needy gets sent into a maximum security prison. She escapes because she got Jennifer's powers when Jennifer bit her during their fight. She pursues the band who turned Jennifer into a monster and massacres them, the end.

You see how weak the story line is? It is kind of predictable but it was fun to watch. If I were Jennifer, I would've gone after the guys who did me wrong first, and then move on from there. I also wish she didn't die and I also wish she'd control herself and eat animals instead, hey, if The Cullens can do it, so can she, right? LOL. So anyway, it's 5:14 a.m. and I am still up, somehow I can't put myself to sleep yet, I guess I will just have to watch more movies.

A Must Read: Climbing the Mountain by Anne, a lay apostle

You guys probably know by now that I am a book worm and that I love reading. Well, recently I heard of a book about a woman's journey to the path of enlightenment. I haven't read a religious/self help book in a while and I think that Climbing the Mountain by Anne a lay Apostle and Bill Quinn would be a great book to read. The title intrigues me, and when I read summary of what the book was about, it made me even more curious about what it was about.

Here's a paragraph from the book that aroused my curiosity.

The Virgin Mary, April 16, 2005: “I want you to retain your private life as a mother and wife. In order for this to be possible, souls must obey my instructions. Anne, you will speak for Jesus and represent this mission. When you are speaking, you are Anne. When you are working for this mission, you are Anne. When you are serving your family at home or away from home, you are a mother and wife and you belong to your family. Souls must be respectful of this because your vocation must be protected. If the situation arose that you were serving this mission and your family was suffering, we would take you from the mission. You have a heavenly duty, Anne, so please advise souls to be respectful. You will bring great graces to others but only through obedience to heaven. I will help you with each situation but we are serious about this distinction of service. Your family will not suffer. I am personally appealing to each soul to respect this woman's anonymity.”

Now, if that doesn't arouse your curiosity then I guess maybe you're just not into this kind of stuff. I think that this book isn't exclusive to just one religion, and I think that everyone should read it. I'll let you know how it is after I've gotten my copy and after I've read it.
