We anticipate we will begin using the new landfill cell this fall. It was completed in January but we are still using our current cell.

Our new landfill cell is complete. The next thing seen on top of this granite will be trash. That will be a while. We still have room in our current cell, seen in the background.

We're moving right along now. You can see from this picture all of the layers except the first one, structural fill.

You know, this whole construction process is fascinating to me. The first layer is structural fill, the second layer is clay and now it's time for the Gundseal and HDPE.

After almost 500,000 cubic yards of structural fill material, aka dirt, it's time to add the clay.

While it doesn't seem like a lot has happened in this construction process, the opposite is true. We are still hauling dirt, to the tune of 700 loads a day.

These trucks move up to 11,000 tons of material a day. 31 of these trucks run 12 hours per day.

They are designed to dump their loads without stopping.

This construction project is absolutely amazing. Our contractor, Glover Construction, has moved 42,000 yards of material in 7 days. That's going to increase soon.
