This is obviously derived from Muslim Book 019, Number 4294. It is Islamic law from the Hanafi school. It ain't peaceful, it is aggressive.

Islam does not teach you to kill, it commands & orders¹ you to make war (fight)[8:39, 9:29{Myth vs Fact #2}] and tells you how to kill "smite at their necks".

My father said: Do not give them salutation first, for AbuHurayrah reported the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) as saying: Do not salute them (Jews and Christians) first, and when you meet them on the road, force them to go to the narrowest part of it.

Allah states: �??Whoever kills a human being�?� then it is as though he has killed all mankind; and whoever saves a human life it is as though he had saved all mankind.�??

The quote is from Surah Al-Ma'idah 32. Of course, Muslims don't like to quote the next ayeh to Kuffar. But I like to, and I like to cite Ibn Kathir's tafsir of 5:32.

The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.
What is the meaning of "wage war against Allah"? Ibn Kathir gives an explicit answer: `Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways.. Notice the phrase I emphasized. disbelief is one of the definitions of waging war, which subjects one to the specified hudud.

The catch is: only if that person is a Muslim! The parenthetical 'or not' is totally bogus. Islam does not recognize the sanctity of life of Kuffar

Now the doubters should not have any more skepticism about Muslim�??s claim that �??Islam is a religion of peace�??.

We are not in doubt; we know blessed well that Islam is a war cult, not a religion of peace. I have published 490 excerpts from Islam's canon of scripture, tradition & jurisprudence which leave no doubt. Those texts form a congruent pattern of unmistakable clarity.

Criticism of Islam is not unjustified. A trail of blood & tears; the bones of millions of innocent victims from Medina to Mumbai testify to this fatal fact. Those of us who understand Islam; who have read its revelation, tradition & exegeses will not be silent. Morality demands that we share our knowledge with others less informed.

Further confirmation is found in Shari'ah. Reliance of the Traveller is recognized as authentic by Al-Azhar. Book O, Chapter 9 defines Jihad, tells us how frequently it must be performed and against whom. This is Islamic law, and it condemns the war cult in the eyes of all sentient persons with a scintilla of morality.

Chapter O9.0: Jihad

(O: Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion. [Refer to translator's notes to 2:190.]

the time and place for which is before the final descent of Jesus (upon whom be peace). After his final coming, nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent (upon him and our Prophet be peace), which is the divinely revealed law of Muhammad. The coming of Jesus does not entail a separate divinely revealed law, for he will rule by the law of Muhammad. As for the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),

"I am the last, there will be no prophet after me,"

this does not contradict the final coming of Jesus (upon whom be peace), since he will not rule according to the Evangel, but as a follower of our Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) ).

The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim (O: because they are not a people with a Book, nor honored as such, and are not permitted to settle with paying the poll tax (jizya) ) (n: though according to the Hanafi school, peoples of all other religions, even idol worshippers, are permitted to live under the protection of the Islamic state if they either become Muslim or agree to pay the poll tax, the sole exceptions to which are apostates from Islam and idol worshippers who are Arabs, neither of whom has any choice but becoming Muslim (al-Hidaya sharh Bidaya al-mubtadi' (y21), 6.48-49) ).

Jihad is defined as fighting Kuffar to establish Islam. It's minimal requirement is one military expedition per year. It is carried out against people of the book until they are subjugated & extorted and against all other people until they are converted. That is not my opinion, it is Islamic law derived from Qur'an & Sunnah as applied by the Shafi'ite school. Which mainstream Madh'hab rejects it? What does the Hanafi school say?

How about the more pacifist Sufi? What did Al-Ghazali say?

Ibn Kathir's Tafsir uses ayat & hadith to explain the meanings of ayat. Allah's imperatives are contained in clear verses, requiring no explanation. This whole recount is an embarrassment to the entire US voting population. When you have 25 precincts with more votes the n voted on election day, you know there is problems with the recount.

Strange things keep happening in Minnesota, where the disputed recount in the Senate race between Norm Coleman and Al Franken may be nearing a dubious outcome. Thanks to the machinations of Democratic Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and a meek state Canvassing Board, Mr. Franken may emerge as an illegitimate victor.

Mr. Franken started the recount 215 votes behind Senator Coleman, but he now claims a 225-vote lead and suddenly the man who was insisting on �??counting every vote�?? wants to shut the process down. He�??s getting help from Mr. Ritchie and his four fellow Canvassing Board members, who have delivered inconsistent rulings and are ignoring glaring problems with the tallies.

Under Minnesota law, election officials are required to make a duplicate ballot if the original is damaged during Election Night counting. Officials are supposed to mark these as �??duplicate�?? and segregate the original ballots. But it appears some officials may have failed to mark ballots as duplicates, which are now being counted in addition to the originals. This helps explain why more than 25 precincts now have more ballots than voters who signed in to vote. By some estimates this double counting has yielded Mr. Franken an additional 80 to 100 votes.---WSJ

An Epiphany of news

Today.

Today, for those of you who are unaware, is 'the Epiphany' in most Christian nations. The traditional day we commemorate the Magi arriving to meet the child Jesus. It is traditionally, the 12th and final day of Christmas. No need to send all the assorted drummers, maids, rings and birds- I don't need them. Today is the day our Christmas tree comes down.

On a personal note, today happens to be the anniversary of the single worst day of my entire life. This is, in a sense, also a good thing because I can reflect on the tremendous progress made from that dark day.

Oh...and today is Jimmy Z's birthday...just don't tell him I told you.

Stimulus deal?
It has been reported that Barack Obama is proposing $300 Billion in tax cuts as part of his 'stimulus' package, in order to garner 'bi-partisan support'. Don't you believe it! Republicans will be wise to have no part of this trap.

You have to ask yourself why Obama, who will preside over a Senate with a minimum of 57 Democrats (with 2 more coming in soon) imagines he will need bi-partisan support.

Does he fear a Republican filibuster? I wish.

This is, unfortunately, the least likely of all the reasons why Obama has suddenly embraced the virtues of bi-partisanship. Several of the Rino Republicans will be only too happy to cross lines and support most or all of Obama's agenda- McCain, Snowe, Collins, Spectre etc...- certainly enough to dissuade any need to break a filibuster.

Also, given the huge popularity with which Obama will enjoy as his Presidency sets sail, and the perceptions that his stimulus plan will rescue our ailing economy, it's hard to imagine McConnell picking this as his hill to die on.

The next possible explanation is that Obama wants the GOP branded as co-conspirators so that, in the event his plan fails, they can share in the blame.

I don't think, with wall-to-wall Democrats, as far as the eye can see, even Obama believes he can pull that one off. Obama can kick the Bush Republicans for 6 months to a year, after that, his party will shoulder the blame (or get the credit) for the economy's performance.

This brings us to the final-and correct- reason why Obama is suddenly embracing almost the same level of tax cut relief Bush put through in 2003- simple, political survival.

Although Obama made a cottage industry out of deriding the Bush tax cuts, he knows that it is exactly the medicine our American economy needs. He just can't say it. As a liberal Democrat, of course Obama had to pledge his devotion at the altar of Keynesianism. However, as a President, he knows his odds of a second term are directly linked to gaining a revived economy. That's why, when the rubber met the road, he passed on Warren Buffet and Paul Krugman and selected Reaganite Paul Volker as the architect of this economic recovery.

Try as he might, there is no escaping the fact that incentive on the economy's supply side is the engine of recovery. If Obama wants this economy to survive, tax cuts, not tax hikes are the answer. We know it and so does he.

We also know that to make a public admission of such a truth is to credence to Reagan and George W Bush- utter blasphemy in liberal circles.

Obama seeks to reap the economic benefit of tax relief without paying the political price of conceding their value. Therefore, he uses the pathetic excuse of needing bi-partisan support when what he is really looking for is political cover.

Now that I have spelled it out for you, it should be patently obvious. Less so, however, if the way Republicans should play this. It really is a brilliant strategy by Obama- propel economic growth by tax cuts while showering the states with pork. By the time the tax cuts have reignited the economy, they will be forgotten and the Democrats can credit the revived economy on the spending.

In essence, Obama plans to use Supply-side economics to validate Keynesian economics.

Remember this; right or wrong, as President, Obama- and his party- will get the credit or blame for the economy.

So, Republicans are seemingly caught in a dilemma. Do they help Obama and imperil their own political viability or do they oppose Obama and imperil the economy?

The answer I am about to give is brilliant (as is typically the case). What the Republicans must do is leverage the situation so that, regardless of outcome, they wind up looking better than Obama. They can do that simply by turning the tables on the Democrats and utilizing their former tactics and arguments.

The Republicans response to this-and any Democratic initiative-has to be within the framework of a perpetual campaign. Democrats finally broke through in 2006 and 2008 because they remained on attack 24/7/365. Liberals ask ''isn't it in America's best interest that Obama succeed?" Your answer to such a silly question should be an unequivocal no!

Considering his radical- and admitted- agenda to appoint Judges who would administer disproportionate Justice to gays and minorities, his euthanistic plans to export unlimited abortion, his rabid disdain for the Constitution, his contempt for free speech, his propensity for political patronage, his bankrupting spending plans, his marxist, confiscatory tax schemes and his cowardly naivete in all matters of foreign policy, I'd say I can make a pretty strong case that the single best thing we can do as Americans going forward, is anything in our political power to hasten the failure of Barack Obama.

Ahhh, but some Republicans will counter that I should have thought of that when I openly opposed John McCain. You missed the point and, thus, my brilliance. My opposition was not that I sought the defeat of McCain instead of Obama. As a true Conservative, I saw the necessity of defeating both. First McCain, then Obama.

Some of you Conservatives were flim flamed because you took your eye off the prize- a Conservative resurgence. Of course, some of you Republicans are no more Conservative than McCain or Obama.

We must adopt the mentality of the perpetual campaign by following the model of the Chess Master. You must be willing to think several moves ahead and you must- if needs be- be willing to sacrifice a Rook or a Knight if it means capturing the Queen or putting the opponent into Checkmate.

Our dealings with Obama must be made with the same Chess-like strategy of pressing and trapping and always seeking an ultimate political advantage. We must, to be blunt, adopt the ruthlessness of the left. Each move must be orchestrated with the Eye of the Tiger. Am I advocating abandoning principle for the sake of political advantage? Far from it. What I am advocating is adopting an over-arching strategy in which each, individual battle is enveloped. Nothing is done merely for it's own sake, but all must be done to further the agenda, in the same way that each play of each game of a football season is aimed at moving the team closer to the goal of winning the Super Bowl.

It must be stressed again that, regardless of the outcome of the vote, or the fate of the bill, it must be accomplished in a way that damages Obama's brand while improving the Conservative Republican brand. The eventual defeat of Obama, and his party, is JOB #1.

Here then, Mitch McConnell, is my advice to you on the subject of Obama's spending plan. Use your leverage to try and force a better deal for the American people and-this is important- make a huge spectacle of it.

Start by citing the price tag and make the same argument liberals make about passing the debt on to our children. Whether you win or lose the battle is irrelevant, you must draw blood. This war against Obama will be a death by a thousand cuts, do not fail to make the first one by casting Obama as a spend-a-holic willing to mortgage our country's future for a quick fix. You could even cite your interest in his tax cut proposals as evidence of your willingness to work with the administration on things with which we can agree.

I patently reject the notion that Republicans have a responsibility to help Obama be successful. Obama sought this office in one of the dirtiest and most ruthless campaigns in American history and his vanquished enemies have no obligation to throw him a life preserver.

Republicans must use Obama's stimulus plan to reinvigorate the argument that the liberals are the party of irresponsible spending. Republicans should demand the spending be cut at least in half or refuse to support the package. Obama cannot do that and will then have to abandon the tax cut provisions to maintain liberal support. The bill will be saved...but at a huge political cost.

You have now seen a quote from the Hanafi school of Shari'ah. This quote was drawn from a Swedish forum which became a victim of censorship. Having saved the forum thread to my hard disk, I have compiled it into an ebook and made it available on my web site.

The present passage has meaning: Arab victims had to be converted or killed; Jews, Christians, Sabeans, Samaritans & Zoroastrians could be converted or subjugated & extorted as Dhimmis. All must be warred upon. That passage hit paper less than 200 years after Moe's death; it is not a modern innovation by the Abd Al-Wahab.

Buraid through his father that when the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) appointed anyone as leader of an army or detachment he would especially exhort him to fear Allah and to be good to the Muslims who were with him. He would say: Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war, do not embezzle the spoils; do not break your pledge; and do not mutilate (the dead) bodies; do not kill the children. When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. Then invite them to migrate from their lands to the land of Muhairs and inform them that, if they do so, they shall have all the privileges and obligations of the Muhajirs. If they refuse to migrate, tell them that they will have the status of Bedouin Muilims and will be subjected to the Commands of Allah like other Muslims, but they will not get any share from the spoils of war or Fai' except when they actually fight with the Muslims (against the disbelievers). If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them. When you lay siege to a fort and the besieged appeal to you for protection in the name of Allah and His Prophet, do not accord to them the guarantee of Allah and His Prophet, but accord to them your own guarantee and the guarantee of your companions for it is a lesser sin that the security given by you or your companions be disregarded than that the security granted in the name of Allah and His Prophet be violated When you besiege a fort and the besieged want you to let them out in accordance with Allah's Command, do not let them come out in accordance with His Command, but do so at your (own) command, for you do not know whether or not you will be able to carry out Allah's behest with regard to them.

We caught red-handed a conspiracy at an awful site plotting to use dirty tricks to undermine Team Sarah. Their main tactic is to join and then to plant racist, scandalous, and other horrid content, or to tempt innocent members into doing so. Devilish! And then, we suspect, they plan to take their postings to a liberal blogger as "evidence."

In a word, a "frameup."

Well, Bill Collier, with a major assist from TeamSarah member Kelly S, and others, has them so *busted*! Among other things we have over 40 pages of evidence of their planning. Al Franken to be certified as Minnesota Senate wiiner

Al Franken is the winner in the Senate race in Minnesota. If Republicans are smart, they will let him speak as often as possible. Between Obama, Biden and Franken, a Democratic gaffepalooza is about to erupt. We need only capitalize on it.

Once Franken is seated, the Democrats will have 58 seats, with the as yet unresolved Illinois seat providing them a potential 59th.

Meanwhile, as it looks like Carolyn Kennedy has the inside track on New York's Senate seat, another potential 2012 target is emerging to go along with Amy Klobuchur, Jim Webb, Claire McCasgill, Bob Casey, Jon Tester and the newly opened seat in Delaware.

It's still to early to anticipate the GOP taking the Senate back in 2012 but pickups in 2010 and 2012 will be needed at a minimum.

I come fresh from Do The Right Thing, where I saw a video that I must share with you. In this video, Tom Trento reports from beautiful downtown Fort Lauderdale Florida, where a mob of 300 hate filled Falestinians were shouting "Nuke Israel" and other messages of Islamic love, peace and tolerance.

They were opposed by a tiny showing of 50 loyal Americans with the courage to stand up for our only democratic ally in the Mid East.

There should have been thousands of Americans to stand up for peace, truth & justice; to shout down the hate spewing SandMaggots. There should be enough so that they would not need the police protection which prevented the SandMaggots from violently assaulting the Americans.

If you are a loyal, liberty loving American, and such a demonstration is held in your community, go and stand up like a man, take your friends with you, out number the demon spawn and shout them down for Chrissake!

It is high time; long overdue for Americans to wake up, wise up & rise up to defend what is right and oppose the evil in our midst. Act now, before it is too late to save our nation from enslavement to Islam.

The RNC Chairman race- my thoughts

Each of the 5 anti-Duncan candidates have unique strengths and weaknesses but there can be little doubt that any of the lot would be manifestly better than the current occupant.

Between now and Jan 28th, Conservatives are going to have to cull the herd so that a credible run can be made against Mike Duncan who, by any measure, must go.

A Newt One is not prepared to make an endorsement at this time except to say anyone but Duncan! Here are some of my observations of the 5 candidates in no particular order.

Katon Dawson
Appears to have the weakest case of those arguing their gravitas for the position. Dawson's case seems to be that he won while the others were losing and that his is the only southern candidacy. Objectivity would lead one to believe that Katon's GOP winning in South Carolina is not nearly as impressive as Saltsman in Tennessee, Blackwell in Ohio, Steele in Maryland or Anuzis is Michigan would be. Of course, the attacks against him for being a southerner and for a Country Club he belonged to smack of desperation and would cause me to subtract points from the others, if not necessarily assigning those points to Dawson.

Having lost Florida, North Carolina and Virginia in November, his southern strategy merits at least a listen.

Further, Dawson's case for de-centralizing the party and turning over it's navigation to the successful Conservative Governors and leaders, like Palin and Jindal, defiantly has my attention.

Michael Steele
I am troubled by his constant reach out to minorities rhetoric. What exactly does that mean? It sounds disturbingly close to the failed message delivered by Duncan. Though Steele talks a good game, his support for social conservatism has been tepid at best and questions have been openly raised about his bona fides in the pro-life cause.

Steele has some good ideas and he is a fiscal conservative and a hawk. In the end, I wonder if he has the....well....steel...to take the party beyond it's current level of sugar water politics.

Ken Blackwell
Not the horse at the front of the pack, but clearly the hardest charger from the outside. Blackwell has made some bold moves such as picking Texas GOP Chair Tina Benkiser to run with him. Further, Blackwell is putting together an impressive list of national security, fiscal and social conservative endorsements. From Ed Meese to Steve Forbes to Pat Toomey to James Dobson, the list is difficult to dismiss.

Blackwell was an outspoken critic of the bailouts and a firebrand Social Conservative. From my vantage point, though Blackwell and Steele are both black, Blackwell seems to have less of a tendency to allow himself to be defined by it. Of course, that could be that he is lesser known than Steele.

Blackwell, to me, appears to have a stronger message, more of a willingness to modernize the parties technology and, frankly, seems to be more the fighter the party hungers for right now.

Finally, Blackwell, as the former Secretary of State of Ohio, brings a proven ability to win in a crucial battleground state.

Chip Saltsman
The recent Barack the magic negro flap is neutral to me in terms of support for Saltsman. It makes me no more or less likely to support him. In fact, the only effect the flap has had for me is in reinforcing Mike Duncan's ineptness and hypocrisy. Does this idiot seriously contemplate the losses the GOP have suffered during his tenure and imagine that Republicans might be more concerned over a Paul Shanklin song?

Saltsman must be judged on his own case. That case is stronger than certain former party insiders opine. As far as campaigns go, Saltsman's campaign of Mike Huccabee may have been the most impressive in 2008, given the lack of resources and the anonymity of the candidate. One has to wonder how much more competitive a Huccabee/Palin ticket might have been had he been able to build on the Iowa upset faster. Let's face it, McCain benefited greatly by liberal New Hampshire being the second contest. Had it been, say South Carolina, it is hard to see how Huccabee could have been stopped.

Although some have dismissed him as a joke, that is hard to square with the endorsement of Huccabee, and former Senate majority leader Bill Frist.

At only 40 years of age, Chip has an impressive list of accomplishments. Among the most impressive was, as Tennessee GOP leader, leading a 2000 upset defeat of Al Gore in his home state, a defeat without which George W Bush could not have become President.

Saltsman seems to bring exactly the youth, vitality and fight the GOP needs now and has to be considered among the top-tier candidates in my view.

Saul Anuzis
His emphasis has been on bridging the technology gap with Democrats to overcome the news media blackout of our message. There is a certain validity to that argument except for the fact that our message has sucked.

Anuzis biggest handicap seems to be his complete inability to have taken advantage of the extreme unpopularity of Jennifer Granholm to increase GOP prospects in Michigan. Of course, that criticism must be muted somewhat by a complete collapse of the National party and perhaps their most inept Presidential candidate ever.

Anuzis "Blueprint for a GOP comeback" does not strike me as a new Conservative agenda so much as a practical plan for implementing that agenda. It seems to me that Anuzis should be considered more for the role of strategist than for leader. Of course, that argument could be made, in reverse, for Steele while, for Duncan, neither lable applies.

It's not that Anuzis is not a good speaker, he is. The issue is, where's the beef? For example, there is very little in his own site's video clip that leaves Conservatives feeling ready to rally around him. Most bonafide Conservatives would strongly disagree with his position that the United States Government has no choice but to bail out the UAW and American car industry- even in the form of loans.

My main opposition to Anuzis is that he has failed to convince me he can be a winner-anywhere, while Dawson has failed to convince me he could win outside of the south.

Overall, it is the opinion of this writer that the RNC candidates be ranked as such...

10- Duncan
5- Anuzis
4- Dawson
3- Steele
2- Saltsman
1- Blackwell

Anuzis', Dawson's and Steele's weaknesses, notwithstanding, any of these 5 would be exponentially better than Duncan. Therefore, I will be pleased by any result where Duncan loses.

A target-rich environment emerging

Putting aside the obvious practical reasons for imminent collapse of the coming Obamanation (pun intended), I can see a manifestly target-rich environment emerging on the not-to-distant horizon.

The first, and previously unforeseen opportunities are 4 in Minnesota (1) and Illinois (3).

Minnesota is turning out to be the gift that keeps giving.

Even if Al Franken does wind up succeeding in his attempted theft of this race, he will do so after a very arduous and protracted level battle. Democrats risk incurring a great deal of political damage from such a bruising battle especially if sentiment towards them begins to cool toward them and Norm Coleman draws a more sympathetic public ear.

Regardless of the eventual outcome, Democrats will be without Franken's services for at least the duration of the battle. Still, the legal argument certainly appear to favor Coleman, especially those concerning improperly rejected ballots. I believe Coleman is going to eventually prevail in this race, though it could take months.

Enter, Illinois. Disgraced Governor Rob Blagojevich has appointed Roland Burris to fill out the term of Barack Obama but Democrats are pledging to refuse to seat him. Meanwhile, Rahm Emmanuel's appointment to White House Chief of Staff means that his seat will also be in play in 2010 when some are speculating that the damaged Emmanuel will try to regain his seat. Blogojevich may or may not get a chance to appoint Emmanuel's interim replacement but that seems moot at this point. Blago is unlikely to be around to run for his own reelection in 2010, facing felony charges.

The point being that the fallout from Blago is threatening to position Republicans to pull a 2010 Illinois tri-fecta- the Governor's office, Obama's Senate seat and Emmanuel's House seat.

Ironically, the process can aid the outcome. As long as Minnesota and Illinois have Senate Seats tied up in legal/political machinations, Democrats can muster no more than 57 Senate votes from their own party, increasing the prospects for viability of Republican led filibusters.

Of course, we expect backstabber John McCain to immediately form a gang of 3 to insure passage of all of the liberal agenda.

If pressing our emerging advantage in Minnesota and Illinois is target one, target number two must be Virginia. As deficits and taxes in the Old Dominion rise, the bloom will be off the rose for Tim Kaine, Jim Webb and Mark Warner. If (as I suspect), there is a growing disdain in Virginia for all things Democrat, former DNC chair Terry McAuliffe (who Rush rightly derided as 'the punk') will have a hard way of it and the current Va Attorney General Bob McDonnell will have a legitimate shot. McDonnell will need your support as McAulliffe will be expected to raise obscene amounts of money.

If things are truly going down hill for Dems, there might emerge a chance to unseat New Jersey's John Corzine but, as of now, that seems unlikely.

As we prepare for New Year's Eve, less than a year from now, the political world may be quite a bit different than the one we now find ourselves in but only if we now come together and lay the groundwork for such gains now.

If Conservatives fail to capitalize on the Democrats early (and certain) missteps, the results could be the most dire and pessimistic that have yet been uttered.

If we cannot put Bob McDonnell in Virginia's Governorship, we have little hope of winning the Old Dominion in 2012. When I predicted that the defeat of Jerry Kilgore in 2005 could mean losing Virginia in '08, the word was greeted with a collective yawn. I hope you are listening now.

Further, if we do a rollover in Minnesota or don't press the fight in Illinois, we lose an opportunity to swing public opinion and raise energy and money. Such failures will have us limping into 2010, broke and demoralized and-once again- defending more Senate seats than the Democrats.

The work we do (or don't do) now will set the stage for 2009 through 2017 and beyond. It can be either a very wonderful 8 years or a very miserable 8 years and much more than luck will bear on that outcome.

Assuming we do the right things, 2010 through 2014 could witness a profound and powerful political realignment that the Democrats are powerless to counter.

Having already stated how crucial 2009 is, 2010 would then be even more so (but only if we pass the first test). In fact, 2010 could prove to be one of those monumental turning points that history calls back to.

Can we take back the House of Representatives in 2010? Certainly! In fact, we are better positioned to do so than in 1994. Retaking the House in 2010 is as simple as rekindling the Conservative fire.

Can we retake a majority of Governorships. Without question! Assuming we take back at least two of the trio of Virginia, Illinois and New Jersey, we will need just three more and the map will be full of states that could be tilting back to us- Colorado, Ohio, Arkansas, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Maryland to name just a few. Michigan will certainly ripe for the picking as will Pennsylvania.
Even Arizona may now be in play.

Can we retake the Senate? That might be a bit of a reach considering it would take a net gain of at least 9 seats. Taking the Senate back in 2012 looks more promising, assuming we do damage in 2010. If that works out, we could really hurt dems in 2014.

How much damage can we do in 2010? A lot.

Assuming we shore up our own vulnerable seats, there are a number of targets, some heretofore thought unlikely. Here are my view of our top 2010 Senate priorities.

Arizona
Senator John McCain
Yes, disdain for all things Obama and John McCain's endless butt kissing of 'the one' makes a primary challenge of him not only a necessity but a very real possibility. With the departure of popular Governor Janet Napolitano (to team Obama) , Conservatives may make a bold move for this seat.

Arkansas
Blanche Lincoln is ripe for the picking.

California
Barbara Boxer's seat could be in play, though that might be a reach.

Colorado
Ken Salazar can certainly be beat.

Illinois
? Whoever Obama's would be successor is, he is vulnerable.

Nevada
Taking Harry Reid down would be awesome. With his atrocious JA numbers, we can seriously do it.

North Dakota
Byron Dorgan can be swept up if there is a wave.

If there is truly a wave, Washington's Patty Murray and Wisconsin's Russ Feingold could be in play but that is doubtful.

To be truly honest, I think +2 or even +1 for the GOP in the Senate races means a successful 2010 and sets us up nicely for 2012. Right now, the conventional wisdom has the GOP losing yet more Senate seats in 2010 and they do have some very vulnerable Senators;

Alaska's Lisa Murkowski (rumors of Palin taking her on in the primary).
Florida open seat (Jeb Bush out to restore family honor?)
Georgia's Johnny Isakson (I think this race becomes safer as time passes)
Idaho (Just kidding...seeing if you are paying attention)
Iowa's Charles Grassley (another rino that needs to be taken down in the primary)
Kentucky's Jim Bunning (barely won in a strong year for GOP-2004)
Louisiana's David Vitter (see above note)
Missouri's Kit Bond (the only battleground state won by McCain. I think he is safe).
Oklahoma's Tom Coburn (Dem's would need a strong challenger)
Pennsylvania's Arlen Specter (We cannot pass up a chance to take him out in a primary)

Conservative and Republican homers dream of a Senate takeover. Though mathematically possible, it's not realistically possible. The GOP would have to go 19-0 in the above listed races to gain a 1 seat majority. Republicans are still on defense if the election is today, with a net loss of close to 10 more seats a realistic possibility.

Going from the current realistic forecast of -8 to even +1 would require a major shift in the political winds. What we cannot do in 2010 is experience another net loss of seats. That would push a Senate takeover back to at least 2016.

If we were to escape 2010 with a slim Senate pickup of 1, 2 or even 3 net seats, we are perfectly positioned for 2012 and beyond when the balance of defended races shifts to our advantage.

That takes us, then, to target #3 which is riding a re energized, enthusiastic Conservative wave back into power. The charge, led by Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal and a bold agenda, will overwhelm and washout the faltering and splintering Democratic machine.

From a dispirited and exiled majority, to a re energized dynasty in only 4 years. It starts now, and it starts with you.

"Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 yr. old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together."

So the doctor said: "OK, and what do you want me to do?"

She said: "I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this."

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: "I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too."

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: "You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms."

The lady was horrified and said: "No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!"

"I agree," the doctor replied. "But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution." The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!

Asma Jahangir, Chairperson of the coordinating body for independent United Nations human rights experts (known as "Special Procedures") issued the following statement today:

"The Coordination Committee of Special Procedures is deeply alarmed at the continuing violence in Gaza. We stress that international human rights law continues to apply and that it imposes binding obligations on all parties in situations of armed conflict.

We call on all parties to immediately cease all actions that result in civilian casualties, or put them at great risk. Both air strikes by Israeli Government forces and rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel are resulting in inexcusable loss of life and placing the civilian populations in the affected areas in extreme danger.

The use of disproportionate force by Israel and the lack of regard for the life of civilians on both sides cannot be justified by the actions of the other party. They constitute clear violations of international human rights and international humanitarian law.

We are particularly concerned at the impact of the current violence and destruction of vital infrastructure on the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. We call on all parties to immediately ensure full access to humanitarian actors and supplies and enable them to carry out their work of distributing food, treating the sick and injured, and guaranteeing the provision of essential energy and sanitation.

Independent human rights monitoring, including by the various UN Special Procedures, is particularly crucial in these circumstances which result in an exceptionally broad range of human rights violations."

No human right trumps the right to live unmolested, free of attack & threat of attack. There is no right to genocide, pillage nor plunder. Islam attacked Israel in 638 and perpetrated many pogroms before Israel restored her sovereignty in 1948. Islam attacked again, mounting several major invasions and many acts of terrorism which continue to the present day. Only exterminating Islam can end the perpetual series of attacks. That is not advocacy of genocide, nor disproportionate force, it is objective factual reality.
The obligation is on Islam to terminate its aggression. It will never do that because its aggression is doctrine driven. Allah commands Muslims to conquer the world and exterminate the Jews. His commands can not be repealed, they have neither geographic nor chronological limits.
Islam could have stopped its attacks any time in the last 60 years and Israel would have ceased retaliating. Islam will not stop, because it perceives weakness. Like all predators, Islam seeks weak prey unable or unwilling to defend itself. Israel can only obtain peace by victory. Victory is defined as extinction of the predator.
When a genocidal attack is mounted, no retaliation is disproportionate. Israel must use sufficient force to terminate the aggression. Only extermination can terminate the aggression; there is no substitute. While there is Islam, there will be attacks upon Israel. If Israel retaliated by launching ballistic missiles into residential areas at random, that would be proportionate, and the U.N. would bitch about it. Go to Hell, U.N.!
In warfare, it is necessary to cut off supply lines to prevent the enemy from replacing spent weaponry and ammunition. Israel is an idiot, as evidenced by repeated opening of the border crossing to allow supplies to be delivered.

I am still alive

Sorry for not posting here lately, but I have been busy with Theodore Media. Me and Chad from the Grizzly Groundswell have been tackling this project. It is a social network run on WPMU with the Buddy Press plugin, which is in beta right now. So we have been working on some kinks and various other firestorms getting it up and running. I think we finally got all the kinks out, we were having server errors for the past few days, so A Small Orange switched our server. So we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping it was only a server problem.

But I will be posting here more often now that we think we got it. And as always I am posting at Stix Blog also.

This great piece in the American Spectator lays it out - and shows us at the same time that Republicans like the 'Republican' we talked about on THIS A.T.W. SHOW must be removed from the party, or we Conservatives will not be able to remain in the party.

The Republican party, today, is not conservative.

Hamas Legalizes Crucifixion
Hamas having decided that stoning girls to death is not brutal enough, has enacted a law legalizing crucifixion. Public decapitation for gays and rape victims wasn't bad enough... Now they can look forward to being nailed to a cross and left hanging until they slowly suffocate to death. This will be happening, in modern Palestine. Would it be acceptable anywhere outside the middle-east?

...Hamas Enacts Islamic Laws, Including: Amputation, Crucifixion, Lashes. Hamas members of the Palestinian Legislative Council in Gaza have approved a new bill "to implement Koranic punishments," including hand amputation, crucifixion, corporal punishment and execution. Drinking, owning or producing wine is punished by 40 lashes, while drinking in public adds three months' imprisonment.

Headline: Hamas approves law of punishment by lashes, amputating hands, crucifying, and execution - in order to implement the Islamic Sharia law. Hamas members of the Palestinian Legislative Council approved in its meeting in Gaza a new bill proposed by the Hamas who have a majority in the Legislative Council, whose purpose is "to implement Koranic punishments."The newspaper Al Hayat of London reported on Dec. 24, 2008, that this step is seen as unprecedented, and has brought criticism and concern from human rights organizations in the Gaza Strip, especially as this law includes punishments by lashes, cutting off of hands, crucifixion, and execution...

The language of the law proposes "primary and secondary" laws. Primary laws include: "Koranic laws, blood revenge, lashes, crucifixion, and execution ..."The text stresses: "These punishments will not be canceled or pardoned ... except if pardoned by the victim himself... Section 59 of the law establishes that "punishment of death will be enacted on any Palestinian who intentionally does one of the following: Raised a weapon against Palestine on behalf of the enemy during war, was appointed to negotiate with a foreign government on a Palestinian issue and negotiated against Palestinians' interest, performed a hostile action against a foreign country in a way that endangers Palestine in war or in harming political relations, served a foreign army in time of war, advised or helped soldiers to enlist in this army, weakened the spirit or the force of resistance of the people, or spied against Palestine especially during war."The punishment of lashes appears in many sections of the law.

Section 84 states that: "Whoever drinks wine, owns or produces wine will be punished with 40 lashes if he is Muslim, and anyone who drinks wine, or angers another person [with wine], or causes him distress when drinking wine in a public place, or goes to a public place while drunk, will be punished with no less than 40 lashes and imprisonment for the minimum of three months." Addendum by your friend and mine, Jimmy Z:

I'll say that most of the interview shows on American Truth Warriors are truly great, very listenable shows.

For my money, however, an argument can be made for the discussion shows and call in shows where we just talk about issues. And mention must be made about our comedy bits and song parodies and etc etc etc. We have a lot of material to enjoy, and a lot of material that gets stolen because of the level of creativity we employ.

But the most stunning show of last year has to be, in my mind, the last show of the year on New Year's Eve, with the exposure of the supposed 'troops' listening by the hundreds and thousands to hours and hours of blogtalkradio shows - the more shows proliferate at blogtalkradio, the most troops show up, more often, to listen for more hours of shows.

Nonsense!

This is a huge news story especially within the confines of political talk on blogtalkradio. Now - today - we find out that those two 'troops' handles have been unceremoniously changed to very generic, non-specific handles in the attempt to make the 'afghan_troops' and 'iraq_troops' URLs and handles disappear. Our guess is that the perpetrators of this fraud had no idea that BTR's system would forward people from the old URL to the new. Too funny.

Folks, we did that. With the help of Matt Buff, we began to really question the logic of believing that thousands of troops would be sitting around for hours, bouncing from show to show on blogtalkradio, with nothing better to do.

We found instead that (a) troops have had most streaming, high band width sites blocked, and (b) don't have anywhere near enough time to sit around and listen to the growing number of half-baked shows for the troops - they have work to do there, my friends. And we had very reliable troops-related sources to back up the story.

So that's my choice for Show of the Year. I wouldn't say it was just OUR show of the year, but quite possibly the Blog Talk Radio Show of the Year within the genre of political shows.

Expect more of this in 2009. We aren't called The Truth Surge for nothing.
